We were a family of 4 persons and booked a room with four beds. The room was nice and completely furnished. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very polite. They were always reachable. Bathrooms and kitchen were good and clean but small. The service for breakfast was ok. All in all a good spot for people who wants to stay close to the centre and can't afford too much money.

Hello, we enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is a plus with young children. The room was perfectly fine for four. The apartment is well located (just blocks from the subway). The only problem there is no air conditioning and you have very hot summer in Rome! thank you very much Manon

I booked the quadruple room, connected to the terrace....In general the location was close to the metro which was good, but outside of the building however, looked like it belonged in the ghetto (turns out a lot of rome looks like this) ... the gentleman that rented us the rooms was very helpful and nice (although his english was poor) he brought fresh croissants each morning (which another family decided was just for them and ate all of them each morning...) he had cereal, which i think may have been there a while... other snakes, etc. he also had a working fridge (which was never cold enough) an oven, a microwave (which i never got to work) and a washing machine, (you would have to hang your clothes on the public terrace shared by three other rooms)... the terrace was small, and had a small table with four chairs shared among 4 rooms with a capacity of about 8-11 people. the terrace (if you look at the photo) looks out to the back of another taller building to the front and to the left. there are 6 flights of stairs to climb to the 3rd floor, the elevator is tiny, and takes a while to come down. it was an exceptionally clean home, but the sheets/garbage in each room were not changed at all during the visit. i booked 4 night 5 days. and the sheets were only changed as i was leaving for the next customer. he didn't offer any tickets (like other customers have mentioned). also the first 3 nights, there were always old italian men in the kitchen eating who were very very loud. and i don't think they were staying in the rooms... for 90euros a night in ONE room, i think i could have done better....

Room for Holiday was a great surprise along our 4 month travel around the world! This is one of the best rooms we stayed in. The house is located in a quiet residential street, away from the maddening crowds. It is an easy 10 min walk from SAN Giovanni metro stop..which can connect you to the main station - Termini and other tourist spots within minutes. We mostly walked everywhere from this place. Colosseum was a 20-25 min walk. Victor (the host) is a great guy and helped us in giving directions, provided us luggage storage the day we checked out and provided great breakfast (croissants, coffee, tea etc). The rooms are good size and very clean. You also have access to the balcony from every room so you can have your breakfast there in the morning. The bathrooms are very clean and stocked up - shampoos, bath gel etc. You can prepare your meals in the kitchen as well. The kitchen is well stocked. This place felt more like living in someone's home than a hotel or a hostel. We loved it and would definitely come back again!

A great B&B with acceptable price in Roma. Around 10 minutes' walk from the metro station.Kitchen facilaties are freely used. Crossiants and coffee are served in the kitchen as well. The house keeper is warm kinded but keep avoiding disturb him in the early morning or late night because their family will be effected. Other services are satisfied.

A Room for Holiday was fantastic! We were in town for a wedding and had been staying in hostels in another country up until then. Victor, the owner, met us at the door with our luggage and helped us inside to get us situated. He goes every morning to the bakery for fresh pastries for breakfast. There are two good-sized bathrooms with showers and the overall feel of the B&B was like home. Our room was huge with a twin bed, double bed, dining set, bookshelves, dresser, armoire, and TV. It was also nice to have free wifi. Victor would pop in and out during the day since he lives two floors above the apartment, so we could ask questions, advice on where to eat, etc. He was so nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

23,24,25,26 March 2011. This was our second stay in this very nice B&B!! (First time in July 2009). The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were clean and with 2 full bathrooms, there was never a wait. The owner Vittorio was great and very helpful with transportation, directions, etc (and thanks so much for the Tiramisu!!). The pastries for breakfast were wonderful. We would definitely stay here for the third time. It is a great value. It is close to the San Giovanni metro station (3 stops from Termini)and bus 87. A very good restaurant around the corner "Shooters". Would recommend it to anyone who visits Rome! Mirande, Conny, Christine and Karin (from Holland)

The room is spacious, basic amentities provided with 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen and all you can eat food. Other services are provided by Victor like buying of the Roma pass, getting Vatican tickets. He also advices us an alternative route to take to Fluminico Airport at the Tuscolana FS station which cost us half at the Termini Leonardo Express. Overall Victor speaks relatively understandable English and he is willing to give suggestion or offer help when needed. Surrounding neighborhood shops are of a cheaper pricing and there is a nearby supermart at "Via Magna Grecia" nearer the metro station of San Giovanni.

That's a very good place to stay in Rome. I stayed there at the beginning of July : it's quite central and quiete. The welcoming is very good, I enjoyed breakfast: fresh pastries every morning, cereals, everything needed was provided. I enjoyed having a kitchen with everything, I could cook : being a single mother with her two daughters, I appreciated. The host was very kind and helpful with us.

The B&B is located at a quiet neighbourhood which is a bit far off from the centre but is easily accessible via Metro. It's about 20 minutes walk to Colosseum. Rooms are quite spacious and well kept in general. The only downside was the absence of air conditioning, especially during summer. However, fans are provided and additional fan was provided promptly when requested. There are two bathrooms for sharing and toiletries are readily available. There is also a kitchen where you can prepare simple meals.

This is basically a 4-bedroom apartment in a residential complex. The room was very large. The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were clean and with 2 full bathrooms, there was never a wait. Victor was great and very helpful with transportation, directions, etc (and thanks so much for the Tiramisu!!). The pastries for breakfast were wonderful...maybe even better than the pastries in France if that is possible. I would definitely stay here again. It is a great value. The only problem is the noise. It is in a very quiet neighborhood but the walls must not be insulated very well because you can hear every conversation from the other guests. But that is the only negative. It is close to the San Giovanni metro station (3 stops from Termini)and bus 87.

Both my friend and I thought this room was incredible! We really enjoyed our time there and wished we could have stayed longer. Victor is a terrific host and allows guests to use the entire apartment with the exception of the bedrooms that other guests are using. Each room is attached to the balcony which is very pleasant even though it does not have much of a view. Victor also provides a large varity of cookies, cakes, and delicious coffee that are available for consumption whenever you feel like it. He also has a refrigerator loaded with milk, juice, water, jams, cheese, and tomatoes. In addition to all of this, he also brings in fresh pastries for breakfast each morning! The apartment has a full kitchen with a toaster oven, microwave, stove, oven, and a wide selection of dishes for guest use. If you ever run out of any item (paper towels, coffee, etc), there is a supply closet filled with extras! It was incredible. Although none of the rooms have a private bathroom, there are two shared ones (also stocked with bath soap, shampoo, face wash, etc) so there never was a long wait. Victor also surprised us by accepting credit cards and having various passes available for purchase. We were able to purchase from Victor the Roma pass and passes to skip the lines at the Vatican museum for face value. There was also a laundromat, banks, restaurants, and an entrance to the subway nearby. Only three things could have been improved. The bathrooms could be a bit cleaner. There also isn't really a place to hang the towels to dry so it would have been nice if the towels were changed more often - the towels were getting a little bit smelly from not drying all the way by the time we left. Also, wireless internet was available free of charge but only worked in the living room area. Overall though, this b&b was amazing and our favorite by far! We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

There were two shared bathrooms that needed repair to the shower units. You were not able to dress or undress in the bathrooms due to narrowness. Not suitable for bathing small children due to lack of space. Mix of people were varied from young children to older couples. Not suitable for familes with small children. My two children and I stayed in the triple room in June 2009. It was a very nice spacious room, with comfortable beds and with shared access to a balcony. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room and the amount of space. The room is in an apartment, and there were other guests in other bedrooms. We shared two bathrooms and the kitchen with the other guests, but this did not seem to cause any problems. It was a very good base for exploring Rome, 5-10 mins walk from metro and very close to a convenient bus route. There are shops within walking distance (2-5 mins). The owner was knowledgable about transport, friendly, and spoke good English. The B&B exceeded my expectations for convenience, as it allowed us to be almost 'self-catering' with access to the fridge and kitchen. This suited us very well. If you want a more conventional B&B, where you are served breakfast and everything is cleared away for you, then perhaps this is not the place for you. The owner brought beautiful croissants/pastries in the morning, and provided us with coffee, juice and milk, jam, bread etc. My only gripe was that the coffee machine was a bit finicky to operate, so I did not always get my cup of morning coffee! In summary, VERY PLEASED. The apartment building is on a fairly quiet street, but there was still a small amount of noise from other apartments and street noise.

This was my second time at a Room For Holiday this year and I am still pleased with the friendliness and helpfulness of Sr. LoConte. From the plentiful caffe` to the awesome cornetti in the morning and the surprise Tiramisu given to me my last night in Rome; just outstanding. The area IS noisy due to sound bouncing off one building to another; strange animal sounds during the night, people talking; it is all normal Roman life and I came to Italy to experience this. However, the ONLY suggestion I have is for a Room For Holiday to provide aria condizionata OR a fan in the rooms to keep cool during the hot summer. I was in Rome during a heatwave, which has now subsided, but some sort of AIR would have made my stay PERFETTO! Also, some guests staying there closed the kitchen door while making use of it and it wasn't accessible to me; not proper to do as this is a communal kitchen! I would definitely return to this B&B since it really is like staying at your own apartment. San Giovanni Metro stop is a 5-7min. walk and the electric bus no. 117 also goes to Piazza San Giovanni. Grazie per tutto e ci vediamo quest l'autunno forse.

The room had plenty of closet space, with good space between beds too. Victor, the owner, was soooooooo nice! He met us at the door, as he was waiting for us. In fact, all three couples showed up early, and he handled it very well! At a hotel, you can't show up until after 2, so being able to arrive early and at least put our bags away was helpful and convenient. My son is 13, and he felt welcome and at home, as we all did! Two nice bathrooms were located down the hall, both with showers, so although there was a total of 7 people sharing the apt, it was never a problem with the bathrooms. The kitchen was a little on the small side for all 7 guests, but it was never a problem. The breakfast consisted of coffee (the best coffee machine in Rome, you can help yourself to it any time), fresh bakery items, yogurt, milk and juice, but we picked up fresh fruit and other items at the local stores, to beef it up. In fact, Victor even brought us some cheese and meat for breakfast, on request. We had a great time here, and the location from the Metro was very reasonable, about 6 minutes. To walk to the Coliseum was a 15 minute walk, so that was nice. Being in a quiet street helped to keep the room quiet at night, and there were rolldown blinds to keep the room dark, so that was wonderful! I could go on and on about this B and B "apartment". Victor, the owner, lives in the building and is AWESOME, with helpful tips, and is ready to help anytime you need it. He is eager to please, and even helped us get to the airport at an early hour for a very reasonable price! For the price and location, you would be hard-pressed to find something as reasonable as this is! Plus, the personal touches are what make a stay in Rome complete. Our 'roommates' from the Neth

My expectations were exceeded with Room for Holiday B&B. From the moment Sr. LoConte greeted me to calling on his son to help me work the quick espresso coffee maker, I was pleased with the family's friendliness and hospitality. The B&B actually felt like my own apartment; having access to the kitchen at all times and even though there are 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms, there was never a problem with time constraint. Regarding location and public areas; Although the main area/reception was welcoming, I didn't feel like I would want to hang out there due to there being very little light. This was my 6th time to Rome so I'm familiar with the area and could find Room For Holiday easily. Venere may want to put links to better maps on the website to get realtime map views; that would be helpful. Also there was some confusion with the website in that there is also a B&B on the 6th floor called "A Home for Holiday". I chose "Room" because of the lower floor level. The area is residential so there is average noise coming from the other apartments and surrounding buildings. Overall I would most definitely stay here again and recommend this B&B highly. I also advize buying a Metro Pass so you can come and go as you please by Metro, bus, and tram. 11Euros = 3days 16Euros = 7days.

We had a marvelous stay and would stay here again. Our host was so gracious and willing to serve us. The breakfast was incredible, fresh pastries and great coffee. The beds were comfortable and everything was neat and clean. We met another couple staying there and got to know them well enough for them to invite us to Germany for a visit! It was very easy for us to reach all tourist spots in Rome from this location. Thanks!

We can strongly reccomend this place. It is located only 5 min by foot from metro station San Giovanni, from where you can easily get to the most important sights. Bus connections are good as well. The owner and his family are very nice and helpful. The rooms are well furnished and clean. We stayed there for four nights and would definitely come again.

We stayed 3 days with my husband and a big daughter in 3-bed room. The host was very kind, helpful( his english was very poor). The room was spacious. The apartment is on very quiet place, but close to bus and metro stop. Only 10 minutes by bus to Colloseum. It could have been a little cleaner (especially in bathrooms) but it wasn't such big of an issue. The kitchen was set up pretty well. Wonderful coffee machine! Overall, I would recommend this apartment as a very nice place to spend a few days in downtown Rome.

Mr. Lo Conte and his family were very accommodating and helpful, even though his English is still basic (But the wife and daughter are much more fluent). Our triple room was huuuuge by Rome's B&B standards, and very clean. Transportation was easy, with two Metro stations (Re Di Roma & San Giovanni) about two blocks away and three bus lines stopping nearby (87, 651 plus one another), at one to two blocks away. I read prior comments about the breakfast and agree that it could be much better but asking around we found out that it was a "traditional" Roman breakfast (sweet biscuits & coffee). But you can shop at two nearby supermarkets and complement it (for only some 15 euros you can add cold cuts, cheese, white bread and fruit for some 4-5 days). Our only complaints were that the shower floor had not been properly cleaned in the smaller of the two bathrooms, which we used, and that some of the tourism literature was a bit outdated (for example, events brochures for June and September). Nevertheless, this B&B is great value for money. You will not find anything cheaper, so big or well located. Believe me. We asked some friends who live in Rome and have seen quite a few B&Bs when friends and family come to visit them.

Its a very nice place: A beautiful apartment with a sympathic owner wich take us "croissants" every mornings. A quiet street without circulation. So it's a good B&B for sightseeing ROMA !
