This was my second time at a Room For Holiday this year and I am still pleased with the friendliness and helpfulness of Sr. LoConte. From the plentiful caffe` to the awesome cornetti in the morning and the surprise Tiramisu given to me my last night in Rome; just outstanding. The area IS noisy due to sound bouncing off one building to another; strange animal sounds during the night, people talking; it is all normal Roman life and I came to Italy to experience this. However, the ONLY suggestion I have is for a Room For Holiday to provide aria condizionata OR a fan in the rooms to keep cool during the hot summer. I was in Rome during a heatwave, which has now subsided, but some sort of AIR would have made my stay PERFETTO! Also, some guests staying there closed the kitchen door while making use of it and it wasn't accessible to me; not proper to do as this is a communal kitchen! I would definitely return to this B&B since it really is like staying at your own apartment. San Giovanni Metro stop is a 5-7min. walk and the electric bus no. 117 also goes to Piazza San Giovanni. Grazie per tutto e ci vediamo quest l'autunno forse.

Good B&B in a fairly nice neighborhood. The owner was very helpful. There are 4 different rooms available in the B&B, which are all located on the same hallway. There are also 2 full baths available, and only had to wait a few minutes 1 time to use. The subway station is approximately 10 minutes away, but it is a safe walk through the neighborhood.

brilliant owners, very friendly people. room was very nicely done. very roomy, comfortable beds. all furniture is ikea and just recently done. nice kitchen in which to prepare simple meals if required. would definitely stay there again. close to subway stop, the actual area is ok, but easy to get to sights on the metro. as somebody else mentioned, breakfast was very basic, but you're in rome. we were too full from our evening meal to have much besides tea and coffee in the morning.

We had a quadruple with shared bathroom. There are 2 bathrooms and only 2 or 3 rooms, so it was never a problem. We were allowed to use the oven, so baked pizza and ate it while drinking wine in the varanda! Location is very residencial, yet very close to metro station an a major avenue (stayed for only one night, so can´t remember the name). Staff doesn´t speak much english, but they are great at mimics and we got just fine. The owner lives in an apartment upstairs, I arrived at 8pm (had given notice of arriving arround 10pm), and nobody was there; had call but he got to us in just 5 min. Guests on the other room left about 6am. It was realy noisy. Considering we paid about E$25pp and had the room just for orselves in the centre of Rome, it was not bad at all!

Our three night stay at A Room for Holiday was outstanding, in a word! We stayed in the spacious triple, which had a door leading to the veranda outside (all rooms have access to the veranda, which is great). The room had plenty of closet space, with good space between beds too. Victor, the owner, was soooooooo nice! He met us at the door, as he was waiting for us. In fact, all three couples showed up early, and he handled it very well! At a hotel, you can't show up until after 2, so being able to arrive early and at least put our bags away was helpful and convenient. My son is 13, and he felt welcome and at home, as we all did! Two nice bathrooms were located down the hall, both with showers, so although there was a total of 7 people sharing the apt, it was never a problem with the bathrooms. The kitchen was a little on the small side for all 7 guests, but it was never a problem. The breakfast consisted of coffee (the best coffee machine in Rome, you can help yourself to it any time), fresh bakery items, yogurt, milk and juice, but we picked up fresh fruit and other items at the local stores, to beef it up. In fact, Victor even brought us some cheese and meat for breakfast, on request. We had a great time here, and the location from the Metro was very reasonable, about 6 minutes. To walk to the Coliseum was a 15 minute walk, so that was nice. Being in a quiet street helped to keep the room quiet at night, and there were rolldown blinds to keep the room dark, so that was wonderful! I could go on and on about this B and B "apartment". Victor, the owner, lives in the building and is AWESOME, with helpful tips, and is ready to help anytime you need it. He is eager to please, and even helped us get to the airport at an early hour for a very reasonable price! For the price and location, you would be hard-pressed to find something as reasonable as this is! Plus, the personal touches are what make a stay in Rome complete. Our 'roommates' from the Neth

My expectations were exceeded with Room for Holiday B&B. From the moment Sr. LoConte greeted me to calling on his son to help me work the quick espresso coffee maker, I was pleased with the family's friendliness and hospitality. The B&B actually felt like my own apartment; having access to the kitchen at all times and even though there are 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms, there was never a problem with time constraint. Regarding location and public areas; Although the main area/reception was welcoming, I didn't feel like I would want to hang out there due to there being very little light. This was my 6th time to Rome so I'm familiar with the area and could find Room For Holiday easily. Venere may want to put links to better maps on the website to get realtime map views; that would be helpful. Also there was some confusion with the website in that there is also a B&B on the 6th floor called "A Home for Holiday". I chose "Room" because of the lower floor level. The area is residential so there is average noise coming from the other apartments and surrounding buildings. Overall I would most definitely stay here again and recommend this B&B highly. I also advize buying a Metro Pass so you can come and go as you please by Metro, bus, and tram. 11Euros = 3days 16Euros = 7days.

We had a marvelous stay and would stay here again. Our host was so gracious and willing to serve us. The breakfast was incredible, fresh pastries and great coffee. The beds were comfortable and everything was neat and clean. We met another couple staying there and got to know them well enough for them to invite us to Germany for a visit! It was very easy for us to reach all tourist spots in Rome from this location. Thanks!

We can strongly reccomend this place. It is located only 5 min by foot from metro station San Giovanni, from where you can easily get to the most important sights. Bus connections are good as well. The owner and his family are very nice and helpful. The rooms are well furnished and clean. We stayed there for four nights and would definitely come again.

We stayed 3 days with my husband and a big daughter in 3-bed room. The host was very kind, helpful( his english was very poor). The room was spacious. The apartment is on very quiet place, but close to bus and metro stop. Only 10 minutes by bus to Colloseum. It could have been a little cleaner (especially in bathrooms) but it wasn't such big of an issue. The kitchen was set up pretty well. Wonderful coffee machine! Overall, I would recommend this apartment as a very nice place to spend a few days in downtown Rome.

Mr. Lo Conte and his family were very accommodating and helpful, even though his English is still basic (But the wife and daughter are much more fluent). Our triple room was huuuuge by Rome's B&B standards, and very clean. Transportation was easy, with two Metro stations (Re Di Roma & San Giovanni) about two blocks away and three bus lines stopping nearby (87, 651 plus one another), at one to two blocks away. I read prior comments about the breakfast and agree that it could be much better but asking around we found out that it was a "traditional" Roman breakfast (sweet biscuits & coffee). But you can shop at two nearby supermarkets and complement it (for only some 15 euros you can add cold cuts, cheese, white bread and fruit for some 4-5 days). Our only complaints were that the shower floor had not been properly cleaned in the smaller of the two bathrooms, which we used, and that some of the tourism literature was a bit outdated (for example, events brochures for June and September). Nevertheless, this B&B is great value for money. You will not find anything cheaper, so big or well located. Believe me. We asked some friends who live in Rome and have seen quite a few B&Bs when friends and family come to visit them.

Its a very nice place: A beautiful apartment with a sympathic owner wich take us "croissants" every mornings. A quiet street without circulation. So it's a good B&B for sightseeing ROMA !
