I cannot recommend this place at all, not to my worst enemy. It is a dump both inside and out. It is in a seedy area-though close to train station- with graffiti on the doorway, no elevator and steep stairways to climb with baggage. Rooms are horrible. I saw three rooms before reluctantly accepting one for the night but hardly slept, worrying about possible flea or bed bug bites. Bathrooms nasty with threadbare towels and an open pipe for a shower head. I've been home three days now and my skin is still crawling. Don't go!

I stayed with my wife for 7 days at Portafortuna. Only the first night we had a very noisy room in the front part of the hotel. The location 300 m. away from the main railroadstation can not be better. Staff was friendly. Only breakfast could be better. We recommend heartily this hotel and would stay there again when we visit Rome

This was our first time in Rome and the rooms at Town House Suite Portafortuna were exactly what I expected. Upon arriving the desk manager gave us a choice of rooms. She thought we might prefer another quieter room to the one we had reserved. This thoughtfulness and attention to the guest was much appreciated. The room she suggested was perfect, very quiet, and had a charming balcony that overlooked a small courtyard. The room size and bathroom was comparable to a Hampton Inn room. The hotel is close to the train station and very secure. The hallways were freshly painted and the rooms decorated tastefully. It is a no frills establishment, but since there is so much to see in Rome you are not spending much time in your room.

The hotel is very cute, the prsonal is excellent but it was extremely noisy because of the street. But i have noted that single rooms are perfect and have fantastic views to the yard, i would recommend to book these rooms.

Close to Roma Termini (within walking distance) situated in Rome's Chinatown. The room we had was street facing thus a little noisy and the beds were a little hard. Having said that however, the room was very clean and the hosts were very attentive and took care of the little things, which was impt to us. For eg when they noticed our children didn't eat the croissants provided, they asked us what our kids would like and took the trouble to accomodate their preferences. They were also very helpful in terms of maps (free) and helped us choose the appropriate transportation and gave good directions to where we needed to go. Overall a good experience.

Friendly welcoming, clean and nice. Lovely to have breakfast in the little terass. The only remark is that the doublebed we had was extremly hard. The chidren's bed had ordinary softness. No problem to have breakfast as well as 6 a.m as 9.pm
