We had a bit of difficulty finding Al Ponte del Papa as the written instructions were a little confusing. The room was clean and bright, although there was quite a lot of road noise. The staff were very helpful, recommending which buses to catch even though there was a strike on. The location is fantastic, particularly for visiting the vatican.

Everything was O.K. (especially the location, 500 m from St. Peter's Basilica!!!) except the double bed in the Michelangelo room which was too soft (bed springs, which caused me and my husband bad back pains. I would suggest the owners to change the mattress (into sth. firmer), so that the staying can be made more perfect.

Excellent! I love it though it's just a very small B&B hotel. I totally feel at home. I'm pleased with almost everything---the locatioon, the staff , the free notebook and the breakfast, except the quietness, which is due to the crazy motorbike drivers of Rome.

Stayed for 2 nights, August end. Location: 5 min walk to St Peters Basilica. Connected by bus to the center of town. Room: Small but well kept and clean rooms. Common bath was also clean and well maintained. Room was facing the road and it was very noisy with the traffic. We did not realize we had taken a non-ac room, and the fan was very slow and inadequate. Breakfast is nothing but packed 2 slices of toast, pack of jam and a peach drink, in addition to a packet of coffee/tea. Service: Francesco(I think) was very helpful and gave us all the info we needed to go around.

Francesca and Vincento were both very kind. They made a lot of phone calls speaking with the airport staff(when they are not on duty) and even drove to the airport to pick up my delayed luggage at late night. It was a bit far from the main railway station but a walking distance to Vatican City. The Room was big and with nice decoration.

No hot water and no wifi. We flew into to Rome and only stayed there the first night. It was a good located to visit Vatican and St Peter's (5 minutes away), right around the corner. The little cafe next store had excellent pizza for a great price. We had 4 slices and two sodas for 4.50 euro. The best value during our 10 days in Rome.

We were only here for one night but it was definitely one of our favourite hostels. The hostel owners are extremely helpful and the rooms are bright and character-filled, with the whole place being super clean. And the location is really great too, you are actually a 5 minute walk from St.Peter's square.

Very nice staff, nice big and clean room for a family of 4; clean (if somewhat small) shared bathroom; no public area. If you are sensitive to noise, earplugs are a must. I had them and slept really well! Breakfast is ok if all you need is a coffee and some prepacked stuff. If you want a real breakfast, bring your own or go out. Overall great value for the money. We like!

Fabulous spot, right near the Vatican. Grazie mille per tutti~ It was a perfect one night stay with my husband and two young children (4&6yrs old), the room was large and perfect for all of us. Noisey street but it IS Rome and we expected 'city life' for where we were. We all had some juice & coffee in the room, but plan to find some 'food' for your day elsewhere~

The room and the service was very good. Vincenzo and Francesco was so friendly and kind. We asked the car at airport, it was very comfortable. The location was suitable for our visit tours. The breakfast was usual italian one. This is a flat with 3 rooms. And the walls were so thin.... But we didn't hear the noise of the road. In total: it was very good!

Venere Review Al Ponte del papa A little family owned gem, near the centre an on the doorstep of Vatican City. This humble bed and breakfast was impressionably hospitable. As a female traveller I felt welcomed and comfortable staying here... I hope to stay again in my frequent travel to Rome. I booked a single and was given a double room with a big bathroom. Lovely fresh linen, high speed wifi, television and a basic breakfast/ kettle in the room. You couldn't ask for more with this price!

Clean, reasonable price, and close to St. Peter's/Vatican City. These were the only reasons our stay here was tolerable. Do not underestimate the level of noise here, not only the street noise, but a barking dog in the house and hearing every movement of anyone within the apartment. I do not see how other reviewers received helpful information from the host as we only saw them upon arrival and they made it clear we were making them late for something even though we arrived when we indicated. Luckily the rates were cheap when we were there, but I would not choose to stay here again.

Shops and nice restaurants very near by. We recommend Al Ponte del Papa to anyone travelling on a tight budget, but wishing to stay in a nice place!

We stayed in the 4 person room, which was incredibly spacious. The room and bathroom were both very clean, and we received a very friendly welcome. Excellent location for visiting the Vatican- less than a 5minute walk away so we were able to get their early to avoid most of the queues. Staff were also very helpful and let us leave our bags in the room after we checked out, so we didn't need to carry then round with us all day! Only slight negative was that the breakfast was quiet small, but we were expecting that having read other reviews.

Rather noisy. If this doesn't bother you, then it's great: within a very, very short walking distance to St Peter's Square AND extremely reasonably priced. No reservations in recommending it to anyone!

The location of this B&B is excellent. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Good value for money. Although our flight was delayed and we arrived very late at the B&B, our host welcomed us and booked us in. He also gave us loads of useful information. Breakfast was delicious, but very small. I would most definitely stay there again.

Although we arrived very late in the evening, we got a warm welcome. Francesco was very friendly en willing to help and please us during our stay. We stayed for 5 nights. The B & B is in a nice area, very near to St. Pieter's cathedral. The B &B is reached through nice stairs. We had tickets for breakfast out at Boncaffé Bondolfi; a croissant and a capuccino. If you want more, you can pay some extra or ask Francesco to make you breakfast.

Not difficult to find the property if you follow the house numbers. We were made very welcome, juice and water was offered. Our windows were onto a busy street but you can't have a central location without it. The room was very spacious with a king bed and a bunk bed. We shared the bathroom that was clean and well equipped (shower, bidet). More toilet paper would be welcome though! The breakfast was the only drawback - just a drink and a croissant in a nearby cafe. On the 1st day we had hot chocolate and were charged extra for it by the bar staff. So on the following days we had cappucinos and milk for the kids. There are several nice restaurants nearby offering lovely Italian cuisine. Overall it was a great stay, cca 5 min walk from St.Peter's Square.
