My travel companion and myself enjoyed our stay at the Nonna Dea very much indeed. Maurizio who runs the establishment was an excellent host, who spoke very good English, therefore making it very easy to ask questions and gain information. The Breakfast was more than adequate and included some cooked food as well as the usual cereals, bread, hot drinks etc. The proximity to the Vatican and its museums - about 10-15minutes walk which included some stairs, makes it an ideal place to stay. Also,it is very close to both a Metro link to the centre -Valle Aurelia, and an over ground station, both stations in the same complex. Only a slight problem in finding the B&B was resolved with a quick phone call. (You turn to the left outside the stations, under the viaducts and the block in which the B&B is found is the first one you come to after the car park on left-hand side.)Maurizio was so good at directions, one didn't really need a guide book! There is also a very good restaurant La Fournace a short walk away from the B&B where all the locals seem to go. We went twice in a three days stay, and had excellent meals both time. The staff there were also very friendly and helpful. having had a really good short break,we want to return and definitely will try and book at Nonna Dea again - will be most upset if we cannot stay there!

The B&B is in an apartment block in a residential area within walking distance from the Vatican, metro and bus lines. Maurizio is a genial, gracious host. He and his wife took great care to provide a tasty and healthy breakfast. An overall positive experience.

We had a nice stay at Nonna dea. I was glad to park the car in a public parking right beside the accomodation (even though it's not easy to find free space for the car). Metro station Valle Aurelia is also beside-and it's really close to the Vatican. 75 EUR was an adequate price (not cheap but not expensive). The owner, Maurizio was very friendly. All in all we had a nice stay there.

Outstanding service. The manager/owner, Maurizio, has a lot of experience in travel businesses, and his expertise makes a big difference. He sent several emails to us before our arrival in Italy to help him anticipate what our needs would be, and then he helped us in several ways during our stay in Rome, which was fabulous. The Nonna Dea is comfortable and spacious and has everything we needed. We relaxed here and would love to return sometime.

Confusion; Once you locate the building which is a high rise apartment block, you won't see any signs. You have to take the elevator to the seventh floor and one of the two doors has a discreet brass plate next to it. To get there is easiest by subway, but print out a map since the first time is confusing. When you come out of the subway, you'll need to eventually do a 180 degree turn to the left [ thru the tunnel ] and walk about 300 meters to the high rise. The unit is a very deluxe apartment with marble floors and you will have one of two spare bedrooms which are the size of a suite. The owner is only there in the AM. noon and after 10 PM, so you have the place to yourself. He leaves a wonderful breakfast and fixings to bag your lunch. The bus stop across the street takes you to one of the central plazas and indeed is a very handy route. Keep in mind, the host does not have Visa and you must pay in cash. Also remind him to leave the internet wifi on even if you are not there, since you will be using it after dinner. He failed to do this with us and it hurt because reservations could not be made and pricier options had to be pursued. The location is about 1/2 hour from the Forum. If you haven't gotten the memo, the cool area to visit in Rome is Travestere, a lovely area but difficult to access. Plan at least an evening there.

This is what you really can expect from a B&B. Close to the subway, located almost in Poppe´s backyard, the owner is really great and knows how to host people. Excellent breakfast. I strongly recommend!!

Only two rooms, very hospitable, friendly and charming owner and a view towards Vatican - I felt like at home, comfortable home. The only thing I disliked - noise from the street all the time, even at night.
