I was a single traveler without a car. I had a wonderful time at Locanda del Buonumore. Was very clean and very quiet. After a crazy day in the city, it was very nice to relax in very calm and quiet place. Elena and Anna were wonderful. Very helpful and went way beyond what I expected. I would definitely recommend staying here. It is faster if you have a car and a good gps, but very easy to navigate with the bus and metro. If you don't have a car, it is easier to use the Cornelia bus and metro stop. The bus stop at Battistini is difficult to find and you have to walk a few blocks to find it. If I go back to Rome, I will stay here again.

This was my second stay with Anna and Elena. You will not encounter people more kind and warm than the two of them. The B&B is located just outside of Rome in Casalotti. It feels like staying out in the countryside, which was just what we wanted. Having a car is a good idea, as you can park it at the Battistini metro stop, and then use the metro to get around Rome. They offer a wonderful light breakfast of coffee, juice, and cakes/pastries. If you want to what makes Romans such wonderful people to spend time with, come to Locanda del Buonumore and find out like we did!

Elena was a charming host, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Without GPS the place is hard to find, especially if you have little driving experience in Italy. (Italian road signs are poor compared to other countries) Parking near the railway station is also difficult until you understand the system.

Excellent B&B: quiet environment, beautiful garden and warmful welcome from Elena and Anna. We were a group of friends, all together in same house, enjoying very good breakfast in charming kitchen and having evening rest on the outside. Helena and Anna prepared excellent pies and jam, and Italian coffee. Both Helena and Anna provide us good advise for our visit of Rome (Helena speaking french, Anna speaking english) and especially very good restaurant close to the house (S. Gemma): The best quality food of our stay in Rome, for the best price, with very nice outside. Access ro Rome down-town is easy: straight forward drive to battistini metro station. cheap supervised (camera) parking close to metro.

We had a lovely stay after 2 hectic days sightseeing in Rome. It is in a quiet, semi-rural area not far from the centre of Rome, and we stayed put, enjoying the peace and quiet. Elena is a delightful, charming woman and the perfect hostess. We enjoyed the breakfast on the terrace, and our room upstairs with a balcony was lovely. Elena reccomended a restaurant "Saint Gemma", where we enjoyed one of the best meals we have had in Italy, at a reasonable price. You would need a car here to get to the nearest train station, but then it would be a quick train into Rome.

Nice place but far from the city- you really need a car to stay here and travel into Rome. Elena is the nicest person and a gracious host-her almond cake is amazing!

A beautiful venue with antique objects including a wall made of a Roman Road cobbles. Friendly Elena and marvellous breakfasts in a beautiful surrounding. Highly recommended. Lovely garden in a quiet neighbourhood. It took us 20 min to Metro If you park in a car park it costs 6 euros for the day

This was a lovely, quiet and welcoming place to stay. Although well away from Rome itself and a little hard to find, it was very convenient for Fiumincino airport, taking us about half an hour to get there. Elena was very welcoming and staying in her house was like staying with family.

We got there for a nice evening stay and got that, so much more, and a new friend. Elena took care of us as if we were belonging to her own family and made our stay unforgettable. I recommend the stay to anyone who really wants to know what hospitality is meant to be. Thank you Elena and Anna!

We were looking for an accomodation but found much more : a place and a person, they both added enlightment to our travel. We recommend with no doubt "Locanda del Buonumore" to any traveller who has some time to really meet people.

Wonderful stay at this B&B which is very close to airport but in a beautiful quiet area. Elena, met us with an open heart and willingness to meet our needs. We felt very cared for in her home, slept well, ate well and were guided to shops and restaurants with a sense of pride in Roman hospitality and culture. The garden provided a tranquil respite as well as some of the fresh local and organic products that enriched our experience. Our only regret was that we had only 1 night to stay here. Yet entertain the thought of deepening our Roman experience by returning some time in the future.

We stayed with Anna and Elena to visit Rome. We were made very welcome and Elena gave us lots of help with travelling into Rome, car parks, metro etc and the best places to see. Her home made bread, cake and Jam were a treat at breakfast and the local restaurant she recommended was so good we went twice. We would not hesitate to stay there again, we had a great time.

We can't even begin to tell how wonderful our stay was with Elena and Anna - we stayed two nights at the beginning of our vacation in Italia and then after three weeks returned - it was like coming home - excited and tired and missing our families we arrived back at Locanda del Buonumore and were greeted with open arms. We cannot speak Italian and Elena cannot speak English. It didn't really matter much - her open heart and genuine love for people came through immediately. Her home is lovely and no one in Italy is a better cook. Her daughter, Anna, does speak English and is an amazing person in her own right. I would recommend that anyone who would enjoy delicious home-made breakfasts accompanied by Pavarotti, served by the most charming of hostesses plan to stay with Maria and Anna - no finer place in all of Italia - Caia Anna and Elena - Linda and David

The house is in a gated community and the "loft" room is very spacious, (note that it's actully in the basement). It was a terrific value for our family, but since we only had 2 nights in Rome it was a bit far to travel. While the metro station is close enough, the trains stop running at 9:00 p.m. resulting in a rather lengthy bus ride back. Elena is a gracious hostess and made our family of 4 feel very much at home. She continues to be the highlight of our 3 week trip for our four year old - he especially liked the sea captains bed, the Micky Mouse toast and the warm attention he received. Grazie!

Thank you very much Elena!

Elena is a wonderful host, as friendly and obliging and fun as one could be! The house is in a lovely quiet setting, which is a huge relief from Rome. It is a wonderful quirky & interesting place and absolutely scores a 10 on atmosphere. Not easy to find without instructions, so make sure you get them before you set out! Also, the area between the gated community and Metro is super-scruffy, though it turns out to be well endowed with supermarkets & perfectly OK. There is a car park nearish the Metro, so you can get into Rome within 30 mins which is brilliant given that Elena's feels like countryside. Will defintely stay there next time.

We had a wonderful time at Locanda del Buonumore. Elena & Anna were the very best hosts. We became great friends, especially with Elena who introduced us to the best ristorante in Rome. Our accomodations were very comfortable and the location is very relaxing and quiet. We recommend Elena & Anna to all our friends as the best bed & breakfast in Italy. We could not have been any happier than with our choice and look forward to our next visit to the Locanda del Buonumore with Anna & Elena.

Buonumore is a delightful place to stay. We were travelling through Italy with another family, in total 9 people (4 adults and 5 kids). Elena took very good care of us and was so kind to our children. She had funny stories and great advice on how to see to Rome. Their B&B is a beautiful, quiet, and peacful retreat from the loud, bustling busy city.

Great place to stay. We stayed in the basement. It was huge, and everything was clean. Elena was very helpful. She made the best breakfast and pasta. Homemade bread, Homemade mamalade, great coffee. The place is a little bit hard to find and you do need a car to get there. We love Elena and the place!

For the first time in Rome!! Ottorino Respighi's music came alive!! What a marvelous city. What a relaxed atmosphere. Such a wonderful people. And what a thrill to stay at Locanda del Buonumore which might be a bit difficult to find if you don't have a GPS. It was hard not to forget that we were guests at Elena and Anna's place and not part of their family. They both made us feel very welcome indeed and we were greeted every morning with coffee or tea, freshly homebaked biodynamic bread and biscuits, made from homeground (!)flour. Anna and Elena showed us some nice restaurants and they personally made reservations for us. Rome itself is nearby, provided you have a car around in order to get to Batistini underground station. There you hop on the A-line and you're in the middle of Rome in a jiffy. One warning, valid for all big cities: Beware of pickpockets and gipsy-like girls, especially in crowded places like underground stations and trains!! Parking is no problem at Batistini! We really hope to meet again soon. Ciao Anna and Ciao Elena!!

We were treated as one of the family, and extended our stay beyond our plans, a nightly oasis from the hustle and bustle of Rome. We will certainly recommend this location to our friends.

My husband and I were planning to go into Rome from this location but due to his health complications we didn't make it in . However, Elena and her daughter, Anna were wonderful hosts and took great care of us. This bed and breakfast is located in a beautiful, secure, gated community and is very treed. It is a lovely, restful property and it was charming to hear the nearby rooster crow in the morning in this country like setting. The trees and flowers were wonderful. I've never seen lemon trees so ladden with fruit. We ended up staying in the cabin which was private and quiet. It looks just like the pictures, (as does the rest of the property)simple and quaint. Elena offered us some fresh tea upon our arrival. The most stressful part of our journey was making our way to this part of Rome, as it is on the outskirts and traffic was really heavy on the main tollroad and in Casolotti. If you are not an experienced Italian driver, I would strongly suggest that you arrange transport as suggested by another reviewer or make sure that you arrive in daylight as finding this bed and breakfast, as in most Italian towns, was challenging. A group of local yoga teachers were also on the grounds and seem to really enjoy the setting for a retreat. Elena is a wonderful cook. She prepared a lovely dinner meal for us due to my husbands health complications and took me to the local pharmacy, even with a busy night of guests. Elena does quite well in English and her daughter, Anna is very fluent and provided us with helpful tourist info. Thanks Elena and Anna for all your kindness.

My wife, mother-in-law, and I stayed here our last night in Italy. Elena is a very sweet person and made our stay very enjoyable. This is the perfect place if you don't want to stay in the city or if you want to have more of a relaxing setting. The rooms are very clean and comforable, especially the beds. The house is hard to find so, I suggest you get Elena to pick you up or get a cab. This is an ideal place to stay if you have an early flight or train to catch. Thanks for everything, Elena

Elena Conforti
