We were staying at the "Le Terrazze" from 30 August to 11 September. It left us with a very favourable impression. It had a very welcoming hostess, a convenient location (5 minutes walk to the railaway station, 7 minutes to the metro, 15-20 minutes walk to Vatican), all the rooms are very comfortable, have facilities, use of the kitchen, and large breakfast is included. And you can come and go anytime without bothering the hosts. The only problem was that the windows faced the street, so it was noisy when they were openned. But never the less we enjoyed our staying at the "Le Terrazze" very much.

Looking for real italian flat with wery understanding and friendly owner? Big rooms, large-scale terrace, bountiful breakfast, kitchenery for own use and cooking? You will find it all here, in BB Le Terrazze. Not fare from Vatican, normal bus traffic, close to tabacco store for tickets bying, small pizzeria, sweetshop and others. It was excellent trip, and convenient accomodation is so important!

Our stay was very nice. The best thing we like about the place is the nice view of a typical Rome neighborhood from the terrace and the tables outside. We were also able to use the kitchen so that was very nice. The owner is kind but a bit absent minded. She tries pretty hard to please the guests. The bathrooms are shared but we didn't have any problem. Just make it quick. It's better for everyone staying there and you'll have more time sight-seeing.

I expect any place that calls themselves a B&B to actually provide a decent breakfast. It was some prepackaged rolls and a juice box. Not good. Only time I could get in touch with staff was when she came looking for payment several times over my 2 night stay.

Rooms are spacious and welcoming perfect. Good choice for who wants a room at a good price close to historic center of Roma (20 minutes walk from Vatican city, bus stop at 1 minute for a ride to the center).

This holiday was very important to me and my family. Thanks to Le Tarazze our stay in Rome was more pleasurable than expected and 9 out of 9 people described it as a trip of their lives (group of adults 45-76 age range-except me who was organising it)... I will ALWAYS recommend it to anyone who goes to Rome.

Owner don't speak english very well, but she undestend simple questions and reply. 7-8 min. to Ciprometro\substation by feet. You can eat pizza near hotel and ther is a supermarket on your way to matro (via Fra Albenzio). I liked tthis hotel.

There was not an direct accesss to terrace, but even so the possibility to sit outside in the sun to rest was really good and of course much better than to sit in a room only. the breakfast was small but sufficient.the housekeeper was very friendly and helpful.

I stayed in Rome for 8 days in a 4 bed room with my friends, the room was big enough, nice furnished in antique style, everything was extremely clean, the room, the bathroom, we had a big and very comfortable bathroom, also a wonderful terasse, which is perfect if u visit the place in May. The Kitchen was also nice and clean, we had option to have our breakfast either in the kitchen or on the terasse, there are 3 supermarkets 200 meter away from the building, nearbuy there is a bar for real Italian espresso, shop for bus and metro tickets, bus station that takes u near the metro station Cipro. On foot we reached the metro station and the Musei Vaticani for 15 min(slowly walking), the area looked to me absolutely safe and quiet, and the building, where La Terazze is located is great, big and clean floor, old-fashioned nice elivator, high walls. I saw the owner only the first day, but if u need anything, u can always ask the nice maid, who lives there, she was always kind and helpful (for example she arranged taxi to the airport for me twice, it was private taxi but very exact, comfortable and safe ). I reccomend that place to everyone, who needs cheap and very comfortable accommodation in Rome.

Le Terazze was convenient for the price, and had bus 990 connecting straight into the center / Piazza Cavour. It was very loud at night, like a factory with engines running all night close-by, and the shower had hot water for 5 minutes and then the water turned cold. Very unpleasant. Otherwise very clean and friendly. For ironing you need to use the kitchen table and your own towel. The staff disappear and you can't get hold of them, so when you need something, like a hair drier, make sure you ask them as soon as you see them and don't let go until you get it.

I made the reservation ans specifically required a room with a private bath for 1 night and wanted a taxi arranged for early airport departure. NO private bath was available and an email to me 2 days in advance was useless!! I was already on my trip and not using internet!! manager required CASH since it was for only 1 night and she arranged a taxi for us (I'm convinced it was her husband and their family car and would not take a CC)and then he dropped us off 2 terminals away from the 1 we needed with 5 bags to walk around!! she did give us a key for the use of 1 bath down the hall but this was NOT what I was signing up for in advance. we were in a very scary area of Rome and could not find a restaurant for dinner!!

Having booked a single room, I was allocated to a double room by accident. Not my fault so I was charged the single rate. The room was filled with antique looking (in a positive way) furniture, providing a adequate atmosphere for a trip to ancient Rome. If you like that kind of atmosphere, you are right. It was perfect for me. Breakfast consisted of everything that can be provided in a prepacked fashion: nothing fresh at all. Everything was clean. No problems at all.

In a great residential neighborhood near the Vatican Museum Metro Station (a little over 5 min walk). I would highly recommend you get the B&B them to arrange a taxi from the airport (and tell them how much luggage, we almost did not fit!) To feel more comfortable getting into and around Rome, I feel this B&B is suited best for a few nights stay (not just one night). We were all impressed with the spacious B&B Le Terrazze. It was "a home away from home" during our week vacation in Rome for our two families-- for we had the entire apt to ourselves! Overall good value for your money.

Got a slight mix-up as we booked a triple room and only got a double one when we got there - a bit unfortunate but receiving personnel was extremely nice and we could just suqeeze in for one night. Got a price reduction for that as well. Apart from this incident it's a beautiful place with an excellent price and in a great position. Definitely recommended.

Location of Le Terrazze was pretty good. There are bus stops nearby which will take you to or near the metro...we never totally got the hang of them. The walk to and from the metro is maybe 10-15 minutes. The walk to the Vatican is also about 10 - 15 minutes. There are some nice restaurants and pizza places very close to the B&B which I would recommend visiting. There is also an internet and phone business nearby which we took advantage of. The breakfast served got a bit tiring. Sweets, toast, cereal, yogurt, warm juice and coffee. The toaster does not work well at all and takes a very long time. Also, if you get up later than the other guests there may be no bread left for you. The rooms were clean. We had no complaints about the shared bathroom. The B&B can be a bit noisey from other guests coming in or using the washroom as well as loud traffic outside all night but it didn't bother us too much. Just a warning to people who have trouble sleeping with some noise in the background. We stayed in much nicer B&B's throughout Italy which had better breakfasts and were less costly. The B&B was not at all accomidating when we tried to book an additional night's stay at the end of our trip. I am convinced that they did not want to rent the room for only one night and so they waited until they could book someone in for a longer stay and then they told us they were full.

The response after booking for confirmation was prompt. The staff member at Le Terrazze was very welcoming and helpful. We were sorry we didn't take the offer with regards to taxi meeting us at the airport. This would have saved a lot of money. Everything was very satisfactory. My husband especially enjoyed the sweets at the door!! Use of the kitchen was a bonus. The Terrace was an excellent place to socialize and relax. We would recommend Le Terrazze which is within walking distance of the Vatican and underground. We also enjoy seeing how the locals live and the couple of fruit and veg stalls in the hotel street were a plus. Thank you and we would use Le Terrazze again.

My stay was wonderful. The place is amazing: the apartment is surrounded by terraces recently renovated as the hole building.I used to have breakfast on the terrace and enjoyed the sun.The room was big and clean and the bathrooms too were cleaned three times a day. Moreover the kitchen and the fridge were at my disposal. Mrs Anna treated me as part of the family and Chandy, the housekeeper was very nice and I could ask her everything I needed. They gave all the information I needed and booked for me a taxi to the airport. The area was quiet and perfectly linked with most of the monuments by metro and buses. In five minutes I reached by walk S.Peter's Dome and Vatican Museums!! Thanks a lot to all of you.I'll come back soon.

Wonderful service. The Sri Lankan lady made us so welcome. We felt we had so much freedon there. We were able to cook for ourselves which helped our budget. My partner felt very comfortable and appreciated the excellent service. Unfortunately the buiders were in which made for an early awakening. Never mind these things happen. They have probably finished the work by now. We would have prefered a double bed. Be sure to ask for such a room when you book. Great access to the Vatican and metro stations. Easy journey from Ciampino by bus and metro

Location is not easy to find, the building is under renovation (not mentioned on web site)which will take another 6 months at least after I talk to workers, workers on the building starts at 7am making so much noise, also unable to open windows due to renovation and dust, there was a family with a baby on the next room that cry all night, room is extremely small for the price, same price can be found in centric area, unless you speak Italian and are ready for an adventure I will not recomend this location

Very small room for me as i took a single. Very cheap for Rome but a bit out of the way. At least 30mins walk from St.Peter's but the metro is quite close. There was some renovation work which gave me a rude awakening most mornings. Clean and good facilities. Friendly staff. Overall good value for what I paid. Main problem was the noise and location

This place was horrible. They double booked our room on Easter weekend...in Rome. The woman running the front room was nice enough to let us use the hotel phone to find another hotel but we wasted a day just finding another hotel. It is well worth the money to stay more central. La Terrazze is in the suburbs but access is manageable – the metro to Valle Aurelia on the orange Battistini line and then the FM3 train just one stop to Proba Petronia. We didn’t get any directions by e-mail and you may not either. Walk out of the station, turn right and walk the pavement until the crossroads. Turn right and, keeping on the left hand side, just keep walking. It’s about 10 minutes away. When the piazza at the end is just coming into sight you’re near the block of apartments. Trains back to the b&b in the evenings ran every 15 minutes but the metro did close early on one occasion which made for a long walk from the metro bus alternative. The 990 bus runs frequently to nearby the Vatican, but walking there is simple – turn left out of the block then right at the piazza into Via Marziale, keeping going until Piazele Degli Eroi and onto Via Vitor Pisani. At the far end, up the steps and turn left to the entrance to the Vatican museum – an easy walk of about 20 minutes. If you go on the last Sunday of the month the museum is free, but get there by 7.30am. The rooms were clean, large, quiet and airy [we couldn’t open the windows in some rooms when we were there two weeks ago because of scaffolding – the exterior was being renovated – but that will be finished by now] and the shared toilets clean and odourless. Breakfast in the kitchen was passable – typical of many b&bs I have stayed in – nothing special but not unexpected. We made full use of the very welcome cooking facilities to reduce costs. Chandi, the housekeeper, is a real dear. She made us very welcome yet was not a bit intrusive. We shared a meal one evening when she cooked for us and when we left she gave us a chocolate Easter egg – a very unexpected and warm-hearted gift. I can’t say I will go back there because I never go back to the same place twice – but I recommend it to people who can walk well and don’t have a car - parking is terrible. Julian

Quite ok because there was a terrace and a common kitchen. The room was regularly cleaned. The breakfast is awful : industrial croissants, juice and a yogourth ; it's better to go outside. We visited nearly everything in Rome by foot. Near the place, there is a nice market. In the B&B, you find some maps of Rome.

The b&b was a nice surprise once we'd found it! A bit out of the way but it's a good choice for people on a budget & those who dont mind sharing a bathroom. We had a lovely terrace outside our room & Anna left a trolly with lots of nice breakfast food for us to choose from every morning. Our room was spacious, we even had a piano! It almost felt like we had a taste of real italian living, unlike a hotel atmosphere.

Room and building exactly as described on website. The only thing that wasn't good was the breakfast. The table was laid in the kitchen with sweet croissants, cakes and yogurts but you had to look after yourself which we were not told about. We chose to buy our own food for breakfast. Otherwise very good location and a few good restaurants nearby.

Nice clean room. Wished that decor was more in keeping with lovely antiques scattered through apartment. Bathrooms were always clean though and room was great for price. If we are going to Italy again, two things we will definitly avoid. a) Changing money anywhere except in a bank (change shops will steal 20% of your money as a service charge! and b) Not to book in the Le Terrazze again. We spent 5 days there. The place is noisy. The breakfast was the worst we have seen in our one month trip to Italy (we spent time in 4 other B&Bs). There was no soap or shampoo in the bathrooms (which you have to share with other people). The towels and sheets are very old though clean. The furniture looks like been collected from the dumpster. If you rent a car, there is no parking and you can not walk to the Vatican as it is too far. The host was very polite and helpful but this does not justify the high price compared to their services. I would NOT recommend the place to anyone.

Fantastic accommodation. Rooms exactly as pictures - Very spacious. We were delighted. Staff were friendly and breakfast was simple but delicious. It is a 10-15 minute walk from the Vatican and the nearest Metro. Very handy if you want to be in the first stretch of queue for the Museum. Great value for money. We will definitely use this accmmodation again.

The directions given were very accurate and the property was easy to find. What I didn't know was that it was basically a 4-bedroom apartment converted into a B&B. Travelling alone, I was in my room early (9pm) both nights, and both nights I was awoken several times because of people arriving later (11pm, midnight...) I would have prefered a room not next to the main door but rather further away, although with such a set-up, I think the noise would have been disturbing in any of the rooms available. The bathrooms were shared and kept reasonably clean, though I think that reflected the guests more than the cleaner. The breakfast was yoghurt, croissants (in plastic) with jam, toast, and tea or coffee. The fortunate thing was they had a little fridge for our use in the kitchen, in which I was able to keep my own fruit and drinks. The neighbourhood was quiet and residential and it was an interesting 10-15 minute walk to the Vatican museum and surrounding area. Overall Le Terrazze suited my trip rather well for discovering the more "suburban" side of Rome, but I would choose a more central location next time.

The owner of the hotel had sent us info on how to get to the hotel from the airport and that helped (even though we took the long way round the Via Lattanzio - don't take the first Via Lattanzio after leaving the subway). After travelling upto the top floor in a charming, turn-of-the-century, wrought-iron elevator, we were welcomed by the lovely Chandi, the housekeeper, who proved to be extremely helpful with tips and was an absolute darling. The rooms were delightful - full of period furniture (antiques??)and the bathrooms were spotless and in full working order. We had breakfast on the terrace - everything is provided, you just have to help yourself - nobody hovering over you: toast, butter, cheese, jam, pre-packed croissants, cornflakes, juice tea or instant coffee. The toaster was a real challenge - reminiscent of a television from the 1950's, but lots of fun. Guests have the full use of the kitchen so they can make a drink or even cook a meal any time of the day, provided they clean up after themselves. The location was OK - on foot to the Vatican museums in 15 mins, otherwise good subway connections (just round the corner). We felt very much at home at Le Terrazze and feel we could recommend it to any low to mid-budget travellers. Accommodation in Rome is extortionate, as well as eating out - BEWARE! The housekeeper recommended a few restaurants nearby that were really excellent value for money (one was called Casselli). We had a mavellous time in Rome - despite the tourist rip-offs; this was mainly due to staying at our little haven . "B&B Le Terrazze".

It's a great place if you want to check out Rome and not spend a fortune. The matrasses are a bit rough, you can cook your meals in the kitchen. It's like living in a dorm (European style) Do realise that the metrostation is a ten minutes walk. Romes metro is built around it's centre so don't forget to bring comfortable shoes. When going into town for the day, do realise that going back to B&B probably means that you don't want to go back at night. (to much trubble) There are some good restaurants in aria and even an Irish pub (Elliot's). When you travel with public transport do stick to the rules and take the train. (The metrostation is down the hill don't want to do that with your suitcase.) Taking a taxi is also a good idea, there not so expensive, about € 18,- to Termini station. (Do take a legal one, the others make you pay way to much, like € 40,-)

For the welcoming it was very good, but after payment we had no news and no good bye from the staff.

We had a very nice and pleasant stay at "Le terrazze" although not every room has its own terrasse, but you can enjoy the public one. mrs. ricchi is a very kind and helpful person and we would gladly return to "le terrazze".

Stayed at this place for one night. They can certainly do a much better job of keeping the place clean. The bathroom and the room was dirty. Towels given were old and worn out. Breakfast wasn't great either. Will not recommend this place to anyone.

The room we had was excellent, but some others do not seem so nice (we had a double with a terrace). Generally, the property is nice, but hasn't been renovated in a while, so it is not the most modern. The breakfast is poor, as is in most B&Bs. For the price it is okay. The only wish - it could have been a little more central. At night when the buses were not running so often it was quite a walk from the nearest subway station (15 min). The Vatican is very close, also 15 min walking distance - this is a plus.

La Terrazze is a good place to stay in Rome, close to the center by metro. The standard would improve a lot with a better breakfast and daily cleaning.

The rate between price and quality is very high. Positve: a very good and huge breakfast, our room had an own terrace, the room was big and confortable and the flat was clean. Negative: only tv in the kitchen, the flat is far to the center of Rome (you have to take 2 buses to the center)

Discretamente pulito, vicino alla stazione dei treni un pò meno alla fermata della metro. é un ambiente molto familiare adatto a chi deve stare qualche giorno nella città

Le Terrazze was northeast of the Vatican. A walk or easy bus ride. We liked it because it got us into the real Rome and reasonably priced food. Very nice, clean, and pleasant continental breakfast. The flat is top floor with terrific street side terrace, great! Rooms are on the back so it's quiet with a pleasant local view. Great cross ventilation. It’s very important to leave the metro station from the downstairs exit, for the location directions to work. Venere maps are not helpful. We would be very happy to go back a again. Sarah (age 10)

Many of the previous reviews complained about the breakfast. I traveled in Europe 30 years ago and a hard roll and a cup of coffee or tea was all you ever got in Italy. The place provided coffee or tea, yogurt, bread, juice and cheese. Others had complained about not meat or cheese. There was cheese spread (French) when I was there. The place is out of the center. You need to take a train to get closest to the B&B. If you are there on a Sunday that is a problem. The trains don´t run nearly as often as the Metro. The other days it´s not really a problem. The lady managing the place and her husband were both very friendly. Also, I had a car. This can be a problem if you can´t find on street parking. I was there on a weekend so I found parking. Just as a note for drivers.

Very clean and comfortable. The view from the terrace was wonderful! Parking was hard to come by. Breakfast consisted of instant coffee, prepackaged pastries, yogurt and some cereal. Over all, I would recommend it to a friend.

Although breakfast could be better (something like cheese or meat), the cheap (in my case) single room on a good location was perfect for me. An alternative route description should be given: train to Termini, metro to Cipro, as well as a small map of the area between the Cipro metro station and the B&B.

We were disappointed with this property as the website had excellent photos which did not meet our expectations. One shower flooded while in it and you ended up foot deep in water when you got out of the shower. The power kept tripping if you had both the grill and the hot water boiling. Toast had to be done by grill and not a toaster. The lady that looked after the property for the owners asked for a little present as we left even though the facilities were not great. We will not be returning to this property.

The location was very good for me, because I was alone in Italy. Not far from bus and metro-conexxions to the center. The management of the hotel were kind, in helping and supplying information. Breakfast was too poor, everyday almost the the same. I was missing cheese or something salted. But the people did their best to make me feel comfortable. Good adress for a second time visit.
