Very cute B&B! Hiromi and Giordano were very nice! We got lost coming from the metro to the hotel and Giordano came and found us to take us to the hotel. (The map and directions from the website were quite confusing, as there is no fountain in a park near the train stop.) The room was small, but clean, and aside from the trash trucks one morning, quiet. Breakfast was good, delicious coffee! Our bathroom was in the hall, though it was our own. The shower was quite small--if you lost your footing in the shower, you and the shower were going down! It was a good location to the Vatican and train stops. We would stay here again!

The room was airy and spacious, and always clean. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. Quiet, safe, residential neighborhood, but with great connections to the centre (bus and metro stops nearby) and right next to the Vatican. My only complain would be that the walls were thin and I could hear the next room occupants talking or watching TV (but I am a light sleeper when I travel, so that's a personal problem). Apart from that I would highly recommend it.

It is really recommendable, only the thin walls are an issue and depending on the guests next door it is not really quite. Anyhow this seems to be normal in Rome. Breakfast is served in the room, therefore no joint breakfast for a group possible.

The B&B is in a great location for visitors wishing to walk to Vatican. Great local restaurants and shops are close by. Very clean rooms. The metro is just 5 minute walk away so you can get to all areas around Rome pretty easily.

Service and breakfast were really good, thanks to Hiromi, who was very helpful and friendly. The room and bathroom were quite small, but that was perfectly alright since we knew beforehand and didn't need more space. There is free WLAN available and a small fridge in the room. Another plus factor is definitely the availability of a water despenser in the hall (cold and hot water), thus you don't have to think about buying water for drinking! The location near the Vatican is very convenient, a lot of restaurants and shops nearby, nice area, good access to metro line A. The nearby market (about 200m from the B&B) is a must to visit and buy local goods like delicious prosciutto, mozarella, wine... I would fully recommend this wonderful & friendly B&B if it was not for the bed which was really uncomfortable because of the terribly worn-out mattrass in room 2 or 4 (don't remember exactly). If the mattrass was renewed, I'd definitely stay there again!

Normal stay in a wonderful city, very close to the Vatican City and well served by the Rome Metro. Unfortunately no reserved Parking is provided by the B&B. Prices are high but probably adequate to the location (Vaticano, Prati). The bathroom had a water leakage which was not fixed during our 4 night stay.

We stayed for 4 nights just before Christmas. This B+B is very good in every respect. We booked the taxi offered and it was worth the 45Euros. The welcome, room and breakfast were first class. Its was our first visit to Rome and we will be sure to come back to the B+B Laocoonte for our next visit.

Very nice stay, friendly staff, nice room with comfy beds, staff helpfull with map and personal info (which buses to take, which restaurants near by are good etc), nice breakfast which gets your day started (much more & better than I expected for Italian B&B). Rooms are not big but cosy and there is a decent table for breakfast (in own room). At walking distance from Vatican and close to metro- and busstop, all really nice and practical. The streets around the hotel are old/classic apartment-buildings and shops, not industrial area as I have seen in other trips before. B&B is located in an public apartment building so from the outside you don't recognize the building as "B&B". The pictures on the website show a beautifull garden, which is there but it is the garden that is shared by the whole apartment habitants. But that's OK. The street itself does not have shops or anything. There is an occasional garbage-pick-up truck at night, but apart from that it is really quiet. Windows can remain open whilst metal shutters remain locked, so safe and still ventilated. Recommend diner at nearby "Isola della pizza" for affordable good, basic Italian food and nice staff (even at Monday evening plenty of visitors so you will definitely not feel "lonely"). Try their excellent freshly grilled "Tagliata di manza"!

We had a delightful 5-night stay at B&B Laocoonte, and Giordano and Hiromi were wonderful hosts. The rooms are small, but welcoming, and the included breakfast and amenities were all we could ask for during our stay. The location is near Vatican City and the Cipro stop for the Metro... While the immediate neighborhood is not exactly attractive, we felt safe and would certainly recommend this B&B to others.

Great location!! 5 min walk to Metro to get all over Rome. This was perfect for the location and price for Rome. Highly recommended! The staff was professional. Getting their arranged taxi from airport to hotel was the BEST choice - quick and easy after travelling 20 hrs! The owner was called by the taxi driver and waiting to orient us when we arrived. The owner - Giordano - was also helpful in giving city information (and spoke english well). Great stay!!!

The BB is very well located and we think that the price-quality is very good. We didn't know that the BB was in a private residential building that's why was really difficult to find the address and nobody knew the BB. The breakfast was very good but there wasn't a place to have it then people need to use the room and it is not very comfortable.

Although the room was small, it was very clean and nicely decorated. The street was a bit seedy, but the apartment building the B&B was located in was very secure, safe and had a nice interior garden. It was a five minute walk to the Vatican and to the A subway line, making it a great location. We enjoyed our stay there and the lovely large cappacinos delivered to our room each morning. We only had a brief interaction with the couple who managed the B&B as they checked us in. They don't live on the site and only rushed over in the mornings to make the simple breakfast and bring it to our room. Overall, I would recommend Laocoonte!

Breakfast in the room. Soap/shampoo, tv, heating, AC, hairdryer, towels provided. Self service tea/coffee/water dispenser in public area. Very central but in quite area of Rome which is not very touristic, 8 minutes away from Vatican Square and 2 minutes walk from Cipro metro/bus station. Very accessible. Friendly and very helpful owners. Price per night reasonable.

This bed and breakfast is only 2 blocks from the Vatican ad St Peter's Basilica, however it is out of the way for everything else. In order to get anywhere we had to either take the subway (4 blocks away), or the bus. The room was very clean and the lady who prepared the breakfast (Gina), was awesome! Breakfast was light (nothing like the U.S), yet very satisfying. Upon on our arrival the person in charge (Giovanni) rushed through the check in and we we're barely able to remember what he said, also I had to call him to get the username and Password for wifi cause he neglected to offer this info at check in. All in all the room was very clean and comfortable. I would stay here again :)

B&B Laocoonte is a must stay. My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights at Laocoonte, and we came back for a third night. The owners of the place are really nice and inviting. The photos on the website are an accurate depiction of the place. The location is perfect; next to Vatican City and 2 minutes from the train. The breakfast is good as well. Also, the place is immaculately clean and tidy. If you come to Rome, you can't go wrong with Laocoonte.

I really appreciated that there was free wifi and (free) use of the phone for local calls at Laocoonte. The room I stayed in was clean, bright, and roomy. The room was nice enough that the lack of common spaces didn't really bother me. There wasn't someone who was there at the property at all times (in case I had any questions or problems), but there was a phone that I could use to get in touch with the owners. Since I was there only to sleep, it wasn't too bad. The location of the B&B was close to the Metro stop (Cipro) and the Vatican museum entrance. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, and a bit far from the city center, but with the Metro it was convenient to get around. At night, however, the street was really dark and the building a bit hard to locate. Hiromi was friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Rome!

Excellent welcoming;we were allowed to occupate our 2 rooms before 12 o'clock(normal check-in is 3.p.m).Good information had been given previously by mail for reservation of the Vatican museum(absolute necessity if you want to avoid miles of queueing)During our stay telephone reservation was made by our hosts for the Villa Borghese museum and internet research for the bus lines(bus stop in immediate vicinity/metro too). Frienliness and discretion altogether make you perfectly comfortable at B&B Laoconte.A very good Roman breakfast and nice view ,especially for the rooms overlooking the courtyard with palm trees assure a good beginning of the day. Rooms are a bit small and we would have preferred single beds but this will not impede our excellent impresion .Good price for this quality!

As it is with most B&B that I've read, you have to announce your arrival to the owner so s/he can meet you (as they won't be there in the place most of the time). This I did, and when I got disoriented finding the place, I called the owner. He was there instantly to meet me! I guess if the B&B page explains that if you find the nearby church first, then the traffic light in front of it, it will be easy to locate the place, which is in the next road when you turn left of the traffic light. And be clear that the church is behind you when exiting the Cipro station! The wireless Internet is perfect for travelers, and the room is spotlessly clean and artfully designed, although quite small. Breakfast is great, too, but no meat. So buy meat from nearby stores if you like meat for breakfast. A highly recommended B&B near the Vatican!!!

Great value for your money. The B&B is in a residential building, so you will feel like a local. The room and bathroom were good-sized and sparkling clean. Breakfast is served in your room and eventhough is nothing more than coffee, croissants, toast, juice and yogurt, the quality is very good. The shower is on the smaller side, but I guess that's not surprising in Italy. The a/c was working perfectly, which was great because it was very hot in Rome during our stay. The free wi-fi is a very nice touch. We would definitely stay at Laooconte again.

It was very easy to find the place, we were welcomed very kindly. The room and bath were both really clean and they did the cleaning every day. Good location, very close to Vatican, easy access to metro, no problems with transportation. Our only problem was breakfast as we are not used to eating sweet things for beakfast every day and absolutely the same thing every morning. We would only change this one thing but otherwise this B&B was perfect for us. We felt safe and comfortable. Really nice place!

We enjoyed staying here. It's a small place with only about 5 rooms. The staff is excellent and the price is very good for Rome. There's no common area so they serve breakfast in the room, but it's a full breakfast, much better than the rolls and jam we got in some other places.

My husband and I were very pleased with our 4 day stay at Laocoonte B&B. Giordano and Josie, and the weekend staff person, were very helpful and provided superior service. The location, a few minutes away from the Vatican museum was excellent. Old Rome was within walking distance and the metro and bus routes were very close and convenient. Giordano arranged an airport pick up for us which worked well. We left our luggage until noon on our check out day. Everyone was so eager to please. All the recommended restaurants were excellent. Our room was clean and comfortable. We brought our lap top and enjoyed free wireless internet connection. This was very helpful as we googled directions to our days travel spots. We would highly recommend Laocoonte B&B to anyone wanting good private accommodation at a budget price in the wonderful city of Rome.

We stayed at Laocoonte for 6 nights. The place is quite conveniently situated (just 2 mins from the metro and other means of public transport, Vatican Musems cca 5 min on foot, St Peter's Square cca 10 mins etc.) It is well worth buying a 7-day ticket (for just 16 €) and use the excellent public transport system all around the city. The room was very-very small, but spotlessly clean. Our window opened onto a nice and quiet garden. The bathroom is not to be used by corpulent people! (We've measured the shower, it is 80 cm X 50(!)cm...) The only thing we would really complain about is the breakfast. For us, breakfast is always the real start of the day. Although the breakfast was served with a warm smile by Hiromi, we are not used to having just SWEET stuff in the morning, no cold meat, no cheese, no eggs, nothing of this kind... There is no breakfast room in the B&B, so we had to have breakfast on a tiny little side-table in the room, which was not comfortable. (But the capuccino was excellent!) To sum it up, we really do think Laocoonte is worth the money, if you do not expect a hotel-like accomodation. We will certainly stay there if we travel to Rome once again.

We found Laocoonte to be excellent. The B&B was located just blocks from the Vatican and close to the Metro stations. The neighbourhood was safe and provided many options for dining and site-seeing. Our hosts were excellent, available and very welcoming. Breakfast is served in your room and was great, especially the coffee! We would recommend this B&B for a perfect home-base in Rome.

Ryanair diverted at the last moment to Rome's main airport. Giordano was able to divert the arranged pick up to divert and bring us swiftly to our apartment where despite it being almost 1 in the morning our host was there in the street ready to greet us and settle us in. Room was spotless facilities excellent- location superb.Hiromi served us superb coffeee and breakfast for 5 days with unfailing courtesy. We were in receipt of sad news on the last day of our visit and unable to get a flight home spent quite some time back at our room and were treated with great kindness. We had to leave the vatican tour just as it started and on returning to our room Giordano insisted on returning our deposit for the tour which he had taken from us the day before. I very much doubt if he got any money back from the tour operator. He also re arranged an early morning transport to the airport. The tranfer charge is €40 and given that late at night the official taxis at Rome airport wanted €75 it is superb value. In summary - great location - more than adequate very clean rooms - run by a hard working and lovely couple.Right next to Cipro station and within easy walking distance of everything. Don't think of staying aywhere else!

Very nice, clean, tasteful rooms, modern. The only downside was the room was very small. It was tricky to find--inside an older apartment complex building with a courtyard full of trees in the center. (Not uncommon to find a hotel thus situated in Italy.) After entering the main doors, make a left and it is the first door you see. Close to both the metro and the Vatican. We ate at Piacere Molise on Via Candia, as recommended by an earlier review by Nicola, and it was a lovely meal for an honest price.

My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Bed & Breakfast Laocoonte during April 08. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the location of the B&B could not have been better. I would recommend this B&B to everyone going to Rome because of it's excellent location, room quality, and service provided. Thank you very much :)

I absolutely loved the LaoCoonte. Giordano and Hiromi impressed me with their outstanding services. They went with me to the rental car agency to help me return my car since I had no clue where the rental car return was. The early morning breakfast is served in the room and it was fine by me since I had to leave early mornings for my museum reservations. The breakfast was delicious, especially the hot chocolate. This was a two week vacation and I stayed at the Laocoonte for 4 days. The room was very warm in the peak winter unlike other BnB's I had stayed in. The prvate bathroom had all the modern facilites and was very nice and clean. LaoCoonte is extremely close to the Vatican museum, st. Peters Square, train station etc. If you want cheap and good food close by then check out Pronto Pizza which has very good Pizzas and meditterranean food. It made our stay there all the better since we could also bring the food back to our room. Giordano and Hirommi speak English really well so communication was not a problem at all. They know their way around so directions, museums, restaurants information from them came in very handy. I would stay at this place again if I am visiting Rome again.

Stayed here for 4 nights at the recommendation of a friend.Rooms are totally clean, bed was large, rooms cleaned every day and fresh towels provided.Breakfast served in the room every morning (tea/coffee,croissants,sweet cakes).Mini fridge with water, beer, juice at a small cost.Staff extremely friendly and courteous.Provide recommendations on local restaurants. The best we found was Piacere Molise on Via Candia, about 3 minutes walk away.Provide shuttle service for 45 Euro to Ciampino airport, reliable service, better than a taxi.Very close to the Vatican & St. Peters.Safe & secure surroundings except for the Roman drivers but that's the same all over town!Excellent value for money and would stay there again.Only downside was small shower but at least it was clean, powerful & hot!

Very nice B&B in a town house around the corner of the Vatican (must have been a regular flat before). I was there for a short stay in Rome and found it excellent as a basis to explore the city. Everybody was very nice and helpful, and the price is somewhat low - for Rome. No public areas, so what?! I would definitely come back!

Laocoonte is fabulous! We had an excellent stay. The owners/staff were gracious hosts. Provided maps, tips, etc to help us navigate the city. Breakfast was quick and served to our room. The rooms were very clean and tastefully interiored. The location was perfect for exploring Rome as it was very near the Vatican and an easy Metro or Bus away from the other areas. The neighborhood was safe and friendly even in the evening.

We stayed in Laocoonte for 5 days. The service (the breakfast was fantastic and served at room) and the staff (Giordano and Hiromi) was excellent and our next stay in Rome will be in Laocoonte for sure. The B&B is very nice and situated between the two Metro-stations,Cipro and Ottaviano.Easy to find. Take the metro, Linea A, you are in 10 min to downtown (piazza spagna) for shopping. About 5-6 minutes walk to the Vatican Museum and some minutes more to the church of St Peter.

Giordano and Hiromi are gracious hosts. The room was clean and comfortable, albeit small. Great location, in a quiet neighborhood, with easy access to metro and bus lines and especially convenient to St. Peters and Vatican Museums. Overall, good value for the price.

The only bad thing was the fact that one of the guests of an adjacent room arrived around 1am and kept on buzzing in for some good 5 minutes, rather than that the stay was excellent and the breakfast was fantastic. Very nice and competent hosts. Would definitely go back and recommend it to other people. Spacious, clean and new rooms.

Very welcoming, just what we needed for one night. Very convenient for the Vatican and not too far from the centre. I particularly liked the communal courtyard at the rear. Run by a young couple who have worked hard on the ambience.
