In the bathroom there is not a real shower but only a Jacuzzi bathtub that it is a little unconfortable expecially if you have hurry. We didn't see if a internet connection is available. This hotel is suggested when your visit is centered in Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo and Vatican's Museums. However, a metropolitan line is close to the hotel and you can go quickly everywhere in the center of Rome.

It was our first visit in Rome. The reservation was at the Maison Royale but when we arrived to check in at the hotel there were no rooms available. It was no problem though since we were given rooms at their four star sister hotel Atlante Garden just one block ahead. Compared to Continental breakfast it was super whith choices of juice, coffe, tea, yoghurt, milk, cereals, eggs, cheese, ham and fresh tomatoes and fruit. I whould have liked more whole grain bread, though). The location was very nice whith quiet surrondings. We had the Vatican and St Peters Basilica just a few minutes walking from the hotel. The only disappointment was no free internet.

BTW: I wasn't able to evaluate the "La Maison Royale" because the B&B was fully booked and I was accommodated to the "Hotel Atlante", owner of the B&B. They honored my reservation giving me a higher value room. I'm fully satisfied.

I was traveling with my wife, daugher and son, and we were given rooms right next door to eachother in the Atlante Hotel it was beyond wonderful! The dining room alone is extraordinary, and reason to stay at this hotel. The location is perfect, the staff was so accomodating, and the food at both breafast and dinner were delicious. We as a family highly recommend this hotel. It made our trip to Rome absolutely wonderful

Room was not actually in the hotel but next door in an apartment building. No phone in the room so we felt very disconnected if we needed help. The breakfast was hot and the best we had on our trip. The parking garage was very expensive. The view of Rome from the rooftop dining room was stunning.

Though the location was a little outside the city walls, it was still quite close to all major sights. The hotel was everything we expected and more. It would have been nice to have a free WIFI for the guests. Hotel provided a computer to get online for a moderate price.

It was certainly a good place to stay, it is close to many interesting places, specially if you want to visit the Vatican in the very early morning, this place is within walking distance from it. The neighbourhood is also good and there is a Food Store (Spar) right around the corner. Bus stops are also nearby and the fantastic Trastevere Quarter for good dining is only a short bus ride away, and buses commute all the time. A good lamp for the BnB building entrace was missing at night. It was good trying out a BnB in Rome, but probably next time we'll go back to a hotel again, just because we like trying out new places.

The location is perfect for discovering Roma in a short period of time and next to the Vatican (5 minutes walking time !!) The quality of the location and the skill of the hotel crew make you not care that much about some details regarding appartment F2. The hotel should nevertheless do something with the window which need some repair.

The pictures on this site do not represent the room or even the hotel advertized! bathroom was filthy and most appliances did not work; the 4star breakfast was pitiful, coffee undrinkable, pastries/ bread not fresh. Personnel was rather incompetent and careless.

This was a nice B&B. It is attached to a larger hotel (Hotel Atlante Star) and that's where you check in and have breakfast (which is great). The room was spacious and the bathroom was the largest of all I had seen in Italy! This B&B is also very close to the Vatican/St Peter's Basilica and felt centralized to just about anything you wanted to see/do.

Hotel room was very basic with 3 beds and a very small TV which seemed to have only infomercials available to watch. It was pretty clean, however, we didn't get enough clean towels every day. We were 3 people, but only got 1 towel the subsequent days we were there. The area around the hotel was awesome, since it was literally 5 mis from the Vatican, and very close to Ottaviano street, which is chock full of lovely fashionable stores. The area also had lots of souvenir shops and restaurants where you can dine at reasonable prices. the highlight of our stay was the breakfast. We had a lovely buffet breakfast ono the top floor of the main hotel next door, which overlooked the city. All in all, a wonderful positive experience.

We have been check in at the Hotel instead of the bed and breackfast so the quality was of course much higher. In any case the breackfast is served at the veranda at the last floor of the hotel with a great view over San Pietro even if you stay at the bed&breackfast

We stayed in b&b the breakfast in the hotel was first class.the air con did not work but our short stay was no problem and is was not too warm.the plugs in the sink allowed the water to drain away before we got washed so this was a waste of water as well as a nuisenece. but our stay was not spoiled at all.

Car they called for airport run not knowledgeable & after calling in to base took us to wrong terminal.. Only misstep in our stay & not directly their fault..

This is the first time I have stayed in the place that has met all my expectations and excelled them! The location that one hardly can beat, stylish, spacious rooms, FANTASTIC view of St.Peters and Roma panorama from the restaurant on the top floor, where the breakfast is served, complimented with the varied and quality-products breakfast buffet! I am impressed and grateful! A bit noisy from the street at night, but hey, this is Rome for you. We stayed a week in late March 2011, for vacation. Would absolutely come and stay again in the Maison Royale, next time we are in Rome!

Excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast with excellent view to St.Peter's Basilica. In my view, there was only one disadvantage - problems with hot water, i.e. water was just warm, but not hot. Most probably it's not a huge problem when you stay at B&B during warm season, but it's for sure a problem during cold season. So if you plan visiting Rome during warm season, La Maison Royale is a great place to stay.

For work in the BB, we got a hotel room in Atlante star. This was in the center and the Vatican was around the corner. All sights were within walking distance. The metro was 5 min walk (Ottaviano). I think this is one of the best hotels in Rome. The facilities at the hotel were good. The breakfast was perfect. JG & CS

Note: Check in is in Hotel Atlante! The staff there wasn't very friendly. They have Internet access in the lobby, but charge 3 Euro for half an hour - too much!. The rooms are in a builiding next door. Great elevator (built by Ferrari!!!). Nice, spacious bathroom (with directions for use of the jacuzzi - just there was no jacuzzi), noisy aircondition (the neighbor's!). Breakfast is good; served in a hotel nearby. Easy to reach (Express bus No 40 from Termini; get off Saint Peter); lots of restaurants nearby. We stayed 3 nights in January - that was good.

This hotel would have been a better value for the money if it actually had warm water. We informed the staff of our lack of hot water and someone who didn't speak English came to "turn the hot water heater all the way up" which did nothing. They offered for us to go to the main hotel to shower but that was a block away. The "breakfast" portion is also a block away. We ended up having to take sponge baths for our entire stay. We were super excited when we got hot water at one point and jumped into the shower only to have the hot water literally last for 30 seconds. Bed was two single beds together that were uneven compared to each other. But, the double beds side by side seems to be a european thing. Would not go back. Would potentially actually stay in the Hotel Atlantic Star, but not this place again. Ironic how simply having hot water to shower could have changed this whole experience from returning to not. The hotel is very loud as well as you can hear all walking, talking, cars, etc outside the window.

We stayed in a different part of the bed and breakfast that looked nothing like the pictures on the internet. Room was clean but very small. Bed was horribly uncomfortable. Location is great! Only a 5 minute walk to the Vatican and a 30 minute walk to the Colosseum. Breakfast was fantastic! Best we had from all the different places we stayed in Italy. Check-in and breakfast are at the Atlante Hotel with a wonderful and unique view of St. Peter's Basilica. Took the public bus from the Termini Train Station. Hotel was hard to find so we had to ask for help on the bus. Would only stay here again for the breakfast and proximity to The Vatican.

We stayed three nights in La Maison Royale in mid september. A little diffucult to find because the name on the street is Atlante Hotel. We were very satisfied with the Hotel. An excellent service all over from the staff. Very (excellent)good breakfast with an uniq look to the Vatican. Location was great. Least but not last, I had forgotten my purse with some money in the room, but before we reached the airport we got a telephon call from the Hotel that they have have found the money. Afterwards it was send to our home adress.Excellent service.

Excellent value for money. Perfect location. We got a spacious room with even a view of St. Peter's - downside is noise from the street. Great breakfast in the penthouse hotel restaurant nearby (roof terrace closed for restoration). Small TV which didn'work anyhow, but that's a minor complaint.

Excellent value - huge clean simple room, well looked after, breakfast at the hotel was good and varied compared to other hotels i've been to in italy including rome. Location was great - five min walk to vatican / castell sant'angelo and then over the river into town. would definitely recommend it if you're looking for simple, well located accommodation at a reasonable cost. hotel facilites for guesthouse prices. downsides - our bath leaked but not a major problem as it was cleaned up well. the room overlooked the mainroad so did get a bit of traffic noise.

My family stayed in 2 rooms during this Rome vacation. The breakfast was excellent, as was the proximity of the Vatican. We had some trouble finding the hotel at first, and street noise in the room was really load. Other than that, excellent stay for the price.

Although we had a very large room with 4 beds, the use of the Jacuzzi resulted in a room flooding. Do not expect much from the view, we had a room with view but it just gives you a straight look on the road below, which can be very noisy at time. The breakfast buffet was good, however Italians have no notion of what fruit juice is. The good point is the magnificent view on the Vatican during your breakfast.

We stayed three nights in La Maison Royale in early September 2007, and had booked online through Venere.com. The rooms matched the descriptions that were given on the web. We were 5 people (adults and children) and had booked a triple and a double room. We were given two rooms with 4 beds each (each time 1 double and 2 single), and the rooms interconnected. So, it was perfect space-wise. The reception at the Atlante hotel (****) next-door provided all the advice and info needed for the stay and for a Rome visit. Breakfast in the Atlante Hotel next door was good. Some reviews mentioned a lot of street noice, but we found it was pretty much OK. Rooms had AC, TV (some 20+ Italian channels), bath tub with Jacuzzi (in one of the two rooms ("F1") the jacuzzi did not work), and fridge. The building has a lovely old, wooden elevator. The Maison Royale is at 5 minutes (or less) from the Vatican, and about same from nearest bus stop. Enough restaurants in neighbourhood to eat and/or get take-out pizza. Shopping street at 2-3 minutes walking distance. Old Rome is further and you best take public transport to get there. Note that by calling the hotel in advance, you can request them for airport pick-up. In short: perfect if you are several people (incl with kids), want to stay in Rome in comfort, but don^t want to spend a fortune. A few other tips in Rome: we avoided the queues in the Colosseum by taking a guide (at the entrance you have people offering guide-services). We did not realize that the same ticket also gave access to the Palatine Hill if you went teh same day. Also, children with a EU passport don't have to pay in Colsseum if they show their passport.

The room was good and big, but the Maison is in a busy avenue, so there is a lot of noise, and down stairs there is a sex shop, I think we were lucky we were on holidays and that shop was closed the whole time, however it is very close to the vatican and Saint Peter square. The check in is in the hotel next on the corner. The breakfast was very good.
