La Casa del Capitano Bed & Breakfast is located in Piazza Barberini inside a historical building in the main center of the city. It has a unique view, infact, from the house you can admire the "Tritone Fountaine" a superb example of roman baroque, a work by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. On one side of the square you can access the Via Veneto, a famous symbol of the roman "Dolce Vita" and a gateway to Villa Borghese, the most popular and loved park of the city. Walking through this beautiful street you will find historic cafés, elegant shops and restaurants. This is just one of the itineraries from Piazza Barberini that I'll be able to recommend to you upon your arrival in our home.
In our house, you'll find a warm and cosy atmosphere and you'll immediately soak up some history.

Lovely little apartment style hotel. Wonderful, friendly welcome. Great breakfast served in your room every morning. Took us a while to find as the there is no signage on the front but was well worth it. Amazing location but because of this is a little noisy at night but well worth it to be so close to the trevi.

Fantastic rooms, amazing breakfasts, terrific location but it's very, very loud as you're right bang smack on a beautiful, but busy square with lots of traffic - all the time. Take earplugs so you're able to enjoy the space! The huge main bed in the room I had was very firm, too...... like, very firm..... but I'm ok with that, thank goodness! The photos online only showed one of the rooms that's available.... there seemed to be two separate apartments. I'd have loved a choice when booking but it wasn't clear from the images or room configuration information online. However, the hosts are lovely, the rooms are very central and the breakfasts truly are superb!

We enjoyed our stay at the Casa very much. The very close proximity of the metro, ATMs, and restaurants made life easy. The room overlooked Piazza Barberini, so for those not accustomed to the eternal sounds of the inner city, please consider that a caveat. Breakfasts were excellent and the owner very helpful and friendly.

the owners of the B&B were very nice and welcoming but the place itself could use a little work. the B&B was like an apartment inside a building and it didn't have an elevator so you have to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to the room but the owners were more than happy to help bring up and down our luggages. and although the B&B is a great value for your money, because of it's great location (i.e. right next to shopping, restaurants, subway, taxi line, near tourist attractions) it was very noisy during the day. but if you don't plan on staying in your room that much it shouldn't be much of a problem because the crowds die down by night. my suggestion is just to bring ear plugs.

What a find! This is a lovely place, in a extraordinary location. Right in Piazza Barberini, with view to the fountain. Convenient to the subway. We had the large room with breakfast table in the room and were very comfortable and felt spoiled by our surroundings. We also saw the suite, and it also looks very comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat, more than a usual Italian breakfast, and served in our room. We tried some of the restaurants recommended by the owners and both were very good (both the low-end and high-end choices). Yes, one can hear some traffic noise (and it didn't help that Italy won a game in the Euro finals while we were there) but it is minimized with the windows shut, and a necessary trade-off to have such a convenient location. There is wifi (and my difficulty connecting turned out to be due to a settings problem on my own computer). We really enjoyed our stay at Casa del Capitano and would stay there again when in Rome.

Amazing B&B right in the heart of Rome at piazza Barberini, one step from metro station, two metro stops from Termini railway station. Great hosts, great Italian breakfasts (I'm used to other type of breakfast, but for Italy these are very nice, with hot buns, croissants, jams, mousses, coffee/tea, juice, etc) served right in your room, very beautiful rooms. We had even two rooms actually - sleeping room and a sitting room with a table and a sofa. Only two faults that are not to blame on hosts. First - no elevator and it's 2nd (or 3d) floor. For us, young travellers - ok, but for somebody else it can be a problem. Second and the major one - very noisy street down there, and windows are old, so all the noise gets inside. Ok for a short stand or if you are sleeping very tightly. Exept two things mentioned, fantastic B&B and the location is unbeatable!

The location is great! We enjoyed our stay even though we didn´t get our breakfast the first morning. Overall the service was very good, and we got great tips from Luca. The only downside is that the rooms are not soundproof, we could hear everything the neighbour was doing. And the street outside is busy, but we had earplugs and slept like babies!

This little B&B is an unexpected gem! A real value in the heart of Rome. Two large fully furnished bedrooms and full baths, with anterooms, and shared kitchenette. Great linens and pillows. The antique furnishings and architectural details were lovely. We had 4 in our group, but could have slept 8 in this apartment. Good location, on Barbarini square. Easy access to taxis from hotel across the square, and metro stop in front. Less than a half mile walks to major sites. Dozens of restaurants within short walking distance. Be prepared to walk up several flights of stairs. Luca the owner met us at the door to the building when we arrived and helped us carry up our luggage.

Our stay was wonderful. Luca, the owner, was outstanding. Breakfast was brought to us - lovely hot milky coffee and warm croissants and buns etc. Luca was extremely accommodating. We stayed 4 nights in the guest house - and would definitely stay again. We had use of the kitchen which was a bonus. The plaza is rather noisy but easy to cope with as everything else outshone this. Excellent accommodation - very quaint.
