Nice B&B in the Vatican area. Nice to have WiFi in the room. Nice view of the Vatican from the rooftop terrace. Laundry nearby. Very friendly host. Watch out for the Metro A line closing by 9pm. Buses are not easy to understand to get back and it can be a long walk from the Spanish Steps, etc.

Amazing location. Directions from the Metro were so easy to follow. Rooftop terrace had fantastic view of St. Peter's. Loved the location. Staff not quite as friendly as we might have hoped but competent and cordial. Very clean. Very, very convenient.

The location is the biggest reason to stay here because the neighborhood is quiet at night. Giordano is a gracious host but he is only around for breakfast, which was good and included in the price. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean but the bathroom was somewhat awkward to move around in and needed basic repairs. The walls are thin, so you'll get to know your fellow travelers but the roof deck is a lovely place for breakfast. In all, a few ups and downs here.

We enjoyed our time in Rome and felt safe and comfortable at Il Tesoro. Giordano was a great and helpful host. The Metro/Subway was just outside this bed and bed breakfast. The Vatican is about a 10-15 minute walk away. Would definitely return to this Bed & Breakfast when we come back to Rome. Cheers!

Great place to stay! Close to Vatican, located in great area with a lot of trattorias, caffes and shops. 5 meters from metro station, great connection to Termini station. 20 minutes walking to Piazza Navona, direct bus to Trastevere. decent breakfest served on the small roof (at season) with the view of St. Peters. Great value for the price.

Very good location, i.e. you can reach the Vatican in 5-10 minutes by foot, Metro is right in front of the B&B`s main entrance, from there your in the centre e.g. Piazza di Spagna in about 10 minutes, busses also go from near the B&B, there is a normal supermarket (ca. 5 minutes by feet). The B&B is clean, breakfast is simple but fully ok (one should be aware of the really good price and what kind of breakfast is usual in Italy (coffee and cornetto/biscuits)! We sometimes bought some fresh bread in the supermarket). Though the B&B lies centrally there are many restaurants and shopping opportunities which are not/not too touristic, but frequented by locals (otherwise those around Fontana di Trevi etc.). We would definitely come again!

B & B Il Tesoro is the best kept secret in Rome. Great location (10 min walk to Vatican and right next to metro station), good value, and friendly staff. 5th floor gets no street noise. Breakfast is sufficient and will get you going. Rooms are clean, spacious. Bathroom a bit tight, but all amenities there. Giordano speaks good English and is very helpful on anything you need. He even arranged a shuttle from the airport to the B & B for 45 euros. We will definitely look for this place again next time we're in Rome.

Nice charming B&B near the Vatican and directly at the Metro station. Room No.1 is really quiet and with ensuite bathroom. Window to the backside. the other two rooms are at the front of the building on the streetside. So try to get room No.1 - this is really worth it. Beautyful roof terrace with a view to St. Peter.

One thing I didn't like (and only one): we had a room with a separate bathroom. Generally - perfect (the other two rooms had to share the bathroom). But our room was just next to the other bathroom and in the evening (and all night long) we could hear EVERYTHING happening in the other bathroom. Other guests took shower (or washed their clothes or their hair etc) for an hours, two hours, three hours... and we could hear LITERALLY all sounds like there was someone in our room. It was difficult to sleep and a little bit embarassing. Except for this - PERFECT

Very friendly and helpful owner and employee, tidy rooms and bathroom, very good breakfast; B&B is nicely located 10m from the metro station Ottaviano; the website does not clearly show that only one of the 3 rooms has a bathroom of its own (you should ask the owner about it in advance); in general the relation between price and services offered is very good and Il Tesoro is highly recommendable.

Definitely reccommend. Giordano welcomed us late in the night and provided with comprehensive information upon what to see, how to get there and where to dine. He is your man in Rome. Always available, answers to any questions. You can feel secure with him, especially if you visit Rome for the first time. The B&B is located excellently next to metro station Ottaviano, 10 mins walk to Vatican. Very safe area, we walked there in the late night and no sign of any thugs or youngsters. Plenty of shops and cafes around open until late. Very convinient place to start any journey. The room we stayed in was on the street side so it was noisy when opened the window but when closed, it was very quiet. It was clean and pretty spacious for a couple without kids but we could stay there with our 3 kids, too as apart from the double bed the room comprised of a sofabed. (wouldn't be too comfortable but may say 2+2 would fit perfectly providing the childred are up to 10-12 years old). We did not see other rooms, so can't tell anything about them. The only suggestion to Giordano would be to provide the rooms with a kettle and some cups so that tired guests could treat themself with a coffee or tea after a long day in Rome. Definitely reccommend to those who visit Rome with a particular desire to see Vatican

It was our first time travelling to Rome and staying at a Bed & Breakfast Il Tesoro with my husband. The room was very spacious including a table, couch and two beds and television. The beds were super comfortable. The room was very clean. It was okay to share the bathroom. Had so many keys to use to get into the apartment was the only downfall. The patio for the breakfast was very good. The breakfast was ordinary with bread, toast, coffee and juice. No fruit. Thought it would be better than that for bed and breakfast but overall it was great location and great facilities. I would stay there again.

As a first time visitor in Rome I chose this property because of its location, its nearness to the subway, its reasonable price ( when you compare overall prices in Rome) and good comments in this website. This was also my first stay in a B&B but I never faced any problem during three days. Giardone welcomes you friendly and tells some basic instructions about the property. He can speak English well and you can reach him by phone anytime. You can go to Vatican in 15 minutes by foot and Colosseum in the same time by subway. The area is safe and busy day and night. You have your own keys so you can enter the property anytime. The shared bathroom was always clean. The room was also cleaned everyday. The breakfast is served in the terrace which has a beatiful view of St Peter's dome and is good enough. The price quality relation was perfect. I highly recommend Il Tesoro if you are someone who doesn't seek any luxury and wants only a clean and quiet room after visiting this beatiful city all day.

My sister and I stayed at the Il Tesoro October 19-21st, 2008. We booked thru Venure. It was a great experience all around! I told Giordano that we would arrive around 12:30pm, and he patiently waited for us even tho we were an hour or more late! (We got lost, our fault, not the hotels) He was very kind and helpful in getting us a tour the next day for the Vatican/Sistene Chapel/St. Peter's. Barbara served breakfast upstairs on the outside patio. She was also very friendly. Ours was a shared bath, which was no big deal. The beds were very comfortable and the metro was within steps! We recommend highly. Loved the elevator-very cool!!Thank you Giordano! D. Halpern

This was my first time to Rome and I was not disappointed. My daughter & I arrived in the morning by train from Sorrento. We took the Metro to Ottaviano stop next to Il Tesoro which is on a busy corner but very central and nice location. There is an ATM machine right next to the entrance and vendor stands on the street selling clothing and fresh food. Il Tesoro is only 10 minute walk from St. Peter's & the Vatican. The owner, Giordano, is a lovely young man and quite amusing and speaks English well. Our room was one of three on the 5th floor, however there is a lift; we had the one with the twin beds and had to share the bathroom with one other room. The bathroom was quite large and very nice. The rooms are large, beds extremely comfortable, good working air conditioning. The weather was nice so we were able to have breakfast on the roof with a view of St. Peter's dome; good and plentiful breakfast. There is a good pizza shop next to Il Tesoro and we bought pizza twice which we ate in our room as there is a table and chairs. Would also recommend Hostaria dei Bastioni restaurant on Via Leone and Ristorante Perilli in Prati (a bit more expensive)which is across the street and around the corner. If touring Vatican Museum, wait until 12:30 when there is virtually no lineup. Be aware of pickpockets and people posing as police asking to see your credit card and passport. If you are careful like we were you will have an amazing time in Rome!

Giordano & Barbara are fantastic, so helpful & friendly. Breakfast on the terrace is lovely, and with a good view of the Dome of St.Peter's at the Vatican (10 mins walk). Giordano was a very welcoming host and very helpful, making email contact with us before our arrival and organising a driver to pick us up from FCO airport. Rooms were clean, relatively quiet, bed was fairly comfortable. Excellent location - ATM, Tabacci and Metro literally outside the front door. Breakfast was substantial enough by Italian standards - nad having it on the rooftop terrace was real nice. A perfect base for exploring Rome. Don't worry that its not right in the middle of the historical Centre - its only a 10min ride on the metro which come every 3 minutes - too easy! :)

I stayed at B&B Il Tesoro with a friend, but we were meeting up in Rome. We were only planning to stay there one night but she ended up in Rome a day earlier and turned up at Il Tesoro hoping to be able to stay an extra night. Giordano (the owner) was amazing! He was able to provide her with the extra night and even waited up late to welcome me to the B&B when I arrived. He was very helpful. The B&B is in an excellent location - very close to the Vatican. While we were staying here Giordano also helped another traveller from Sth America who lost his wife at the Vatican. Giordano liaised with the POlice to locate her and ensure she arrived back at the B&B safely. Would definitely stay here again - great service, very good sized rooms, and although we shared a bathroom it was very clean and we didn't end up having to wait for long for others to use it. An enjoyable stay!!

Did not get the venere discount to start off with. Room was at best just ok. We had a private bath which was nice. One wall in the room has 1/4 inch plywood on it which I thought was to cover a hole. Well I had to peel it back to take a look and needless to say it was the shared bathroom that I could look into. Not what I expected to see.

Our room was nice and clean. The breakfast was better than other B & B in Europe. One thing to remember is that you share a bathroom with another room. In the morning we were trying to get ready at the same time and felt this pressure to hurry. I had to ask my husband to cut his shower short b/c another guest had to use the bathroom. That is the only reason I would not return to this property. But if that is not a problem for you than it was good deal for the money.

Il Tesoro is in a 7 story residential building. Yes, there is an elevator. It makes you feel like you are in an apartment instead of a hotel. It's very secure and in a great neighborhood. Pino and Giordan were extremely welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed at B&B IL TESORO for two day each on both side of our European cruise. We could not have picked a better location nor met better people than Giordano, Vino, and Patricia. They were very helpful and spoke English. We were in contact with them before we arrived and they set up an English speaking Vatican tour for us. The rooms were very spacious and beds very comfortable. There was nothing quite as nice a breakfast on the rooftop with the looking at the dome of St Peter’s. When we came back 12 days later after the cruise, Giordano was there. It was just like being with old friends again. He arraigned our motor coach to the airport and they even had breakfast for us early on the day we departed. Not only will I stay there again, I can’t wait.

This place is an ideal B&B!! The rooms were very spacious, great / friendly staff, and the views of St. Peter's and the Vatican were great in the morning. If you are fit enough, you can walk all the way to the colosseum (we did 2x). It's literally 5min from the Vatican / Castel St. Angelos, which is great as well. The only negative on the location is its not really in the optimal area for nightlife for young individuals or couples - that said it is a short $10 euro cab ride away. If possible, I'd spring for the room with its own bathroom, then the stay would be perfect!!

The place was very convenient, close walk to the Vatican & across the river to Piazza Navona, etc. It was very clean & quiet with good amenities. Breakfast was, as others had described, a cold breakfast & was ok. Patrizia served us breakfast in the morning & was not extremely friendly. She turned out to be the only person there at the B&B to help us usually. (Hiromi & her husband stayed at the other B&B that they own nearby). She didn't go out of her way to be helpful, but she did answer questions if we asked, including advising us to visit the Vatican Museums at the lunch hour or afternoon, rather than the morning when line would be longer. This turned out to be good advice; we hardly waited at all. We would recommend this place to people who would like staying in a quieter place. (the area is also less busy).

Il Tesoro was a great place to stay, a few blocks from the Vatican in a busy, safe commercial area. Despite being on a main street, the B&B was quiet because of nice, sound proof windows. The staff was friendly, welcoming, very helpful. Continental breakfast (without fruit or cereal) was very good and served in the room because there isn't any communal dining area, unless weather permits using the roof top. Certainly, Il Tesoro is in a great, convenient location: Metropolitana at the front door, bank nearby, outdoor sidewalk clothing market, pizza and sandwich shops, laundrymat around the corner and a cheap Internet center next to the laundrymat. Also, Triomfale market, terrific for fresh produce, is very close by. We found two good, inexpensive family restaurants in the neighborhood: L'Angolo ai Musei, on Via Leone, and Il Bersagliere, 2 blocks down from the B&B. The only inconvenience was that the B&B does not accept credit cards, but Giordano will accept travelers checks. We'll be back!

The woman who served us breakfast spoke perfect english. We stayed there in february and outside it was cold, but the room has a heating and it worked very well. The beds were very comfortable. Our room was without bath. But we were the only ones who used the bathroom on the floor and it was cleaned eyery day. The street was loud, but the window was very good. They have a moskito-net at the wondow. The brakfast was enough but not very tasty: tea / coffee, yoghurt, rusk, biskuits in cellophane. We would have prefered to get less but good and fresh. Go outside to one of the small bars and enjoy your coffee there!

Consigliamo sicuramente questo b&b per l'ottima posizione, l'estrema cortesia dei proprietari e la pulizia della struttura. Comodissimo per chi gira Roma con i mezzi pubblici.

What a gold mine in Rome, two blocks from Vatican, Metro at your doorstep, wireless internet,(rarity in Italy) and most important the hosts, Giordano and Hiroki. Ask for the room with the balcony. We only stayed for two nights, next time in Rome it will be more....

The young couple that runs this B&B were very friendly and went out of their way to ensure that our stay is great. A few things to keep in mind if choosing this B&B for a stay. The bathroom is shared between three rooms, which for the most part is not a problem but you may find yourself waiting once or twice. It is a very small place with only three rooms so you get a very nice, homey feel. The balcony on the roof when breakfast is served is awesome with breathtaking views of the Vatican dome. We really enjoyed our stay at this B&B and would recommend it. Only five minute walk from the Vatican and right outside a metro stop for easy access to the old city.

It was exactly as you would expect from the website. Giordano and his wife were really helpful, even when I dropped my keys down the liftshaft! (not something you'll find in the phrasebook)The view from the terrace is every bit as good as the photos. It is on a busy street with market stalls cafes and a metro station right outside your door, but because of the rooms being on the 5th floor with double glazed doors to the balcony the room is not too noisy. All in all an excellent stay,we were only there 2 days but I wish we had stayed the whole week, unfortunatley that was all the availability they had. Thanks for a great stay Giordano, we'll be back!

Very nice place to stay in rome, a bit noisy with windows opened, near to St. Peter and the central of rome, excellent to reach with public transportation, very nice place for breakfast on the roof. conclusions: we do recommend this b&b!

Fine for the person using this as a base to see Rome. The room was fine for a bedroom but, if you intend to spend more time in your room, then you should be aware that there are only dining chairs. Very handy for the Metro. There are plenty of places to eat nearby but you should be aware that many of these are tourist establishments (as the Vatican is very near at hand).

My wife and myself liked the stay at Il Tesoro very much. Specially to have breakfast at the roofterrace, with the view to the cupola of Sanct Peter we have enjoyed very much. If we will go to rome again we will stay at Il Tesoro again.

We have had a very pleasant stay at Il Tesoro. It is a short walking distance from the Vatican. We were able to walk everywhere. The owner Giordano is very helpful. They served breakfast on the little terrase on top of the apartment which was very pleasant and they really serve great coffee. B&B is very clean and quiet. Great quality for price. We would definitely stay there again.

Giordano and Hiroko are delightful, helpful hosts. The rooms are spacious and newly furnished, with marble floors, good lighting, and the roomy shared bath has a deep tub. The location is awesome: the Metro stop is right outside, St. Peter's only 5 minutes walk, yet the Prati neighborhood is not touristy: you can shop and eat well for less money than in the more popular old city center. Coffee shop on the corner, gelato and internet across the tree-shaded street, a produce/flea market (Trionfale) a few blocks away, as well as bakeries, apparel shops (shoes!)restaurants, and a large bookstore. What more is needed? Only one suggestion: the breakfast is very basic. Fresh fruit and freshly baked rolls would have been nice.

Fantastic! Excellent location (right in front of the metro and 3 blocks from the Vatican) and wonderful hosts! Very helpful and gracious people. Breakfast may have lacked quality (Giordano, more liquid than foam in the cappuccino's would be great!) but taking it on the roof terrace was a great way to start your morning.

We cannot recommend Il Tesoro highly enough. Our room was spacious, quiet, well air-conditioned and clean. Giordano and Hirumi were so helpful and so gracious. They pointed out excellent restaurants and Giordano even helped me to straighten out an airline reservation. Il Tesoro has a metro station right outside the door and the Vatican is a few blocks away...if you forget something you could easily run back and forth. Some nice restaurants in the area, plenty of banks, cafes and gelaterie. Also plenty of discount shopping right outside the door at the adjacent stores or the outdoor market, but the quality of the items in these stores/markets is low. The elevator (lift) is a retrofit in an older building so its rickety but it works well. Giordano and Hirumi served us a decent breakfast of assorted cookies, cakes and croissants with cappucino each morning which was more than enough to get us going and always offered advice to help us through our daily itinerary as we chatted with them. Also, we appreciate them setting up for a very reasonable charge, a nice comfortable bed for our 9 year old--the Venere website didn't forward on the fact that we were 2 adults and one 9 year old child--this was NOT Il Tesoro's fault. Giordano was extremely accomodating and quickly set up the bed. Despite the busy street below, our room was absolutely silent since Il Tesoro is on the 5th floor (again, there is a lift). We can't wait to visit them again. Go there!!!!

We enjoyed our one night stay in Il Tesoro. Our room was air conditioned and the service was excellent. Giordano even provided us with hot water in our room to make coffee when we got back from dinner. Grazie mille...we would love to stay here again!

Il Tesoro was a delightful place to stay. The room was air conditioned, clean and spacious. The bathroom is narrow, but functional and clean. The B&B is very close to the Vatican - about 5 minute walk and is directly above the metro station Ottaviano, so it is possible to get to anywhere in Rome very quickly. There are great cafès and restaurants nearby. The breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the rooftops towards St Peter's - a great start to the day. Only bit of advice, is to skip breakfast if you are wanting to visit the Vatican museum - the queues are very very long. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Giordano and his partner were really helpful to us. We really liked the fact that we had an elevator and a nice, quiet, clean room to return to after some really hectic sightseeing - it was an oasis of calm and sanity for us. What's more, I wasn't expecting a concierge service but Giordano was happy to go the extra mile. Grazi mille!

Real bed and breakfast (not hotel) with shared bathroom, very clean and comfortable. Excellent position, at walking distance fron San Pietro, in front of the underground station. Nice terrace, with wonderful sight, where you can have a disappointing breakfast, very poor and absolutely below the standards. Better you go out, walk 200 m and have an excellent cappuccino with brioche at Castroni's.

I cannot recommend this B&B high enough. We were met at the airport at midnight by the owner and his wife, who turned out to be the most delightful couple. Our room was much better than we could have imagined. It was close to the underground and to St. Peter's and so many of Rome's attractions. Whenever we were unsure of ourselves, our host was eager to help. Giordano, the owner of this B&B also returned us to the airport at 7 a.m. on a Saturday morning. I would rate this B&B very highly. This questuonnaire should not force you to give irrelevent answers - it is sloppy and does you no credit. How about not applicable? There were no public spaces - I cannot assess them. I am not prepared to be forced into giving a view - I am very unhappy that the only way I can communicate with you is by completeing the questionnaire. The questionnaire should also be self evident - I do not wish to read extra material

Wonderful welcoming couple, very clean rooms. We could not fault the service. The only point thing felt a little uncomfortable about was the number of doors you had to go through to finally reach your room, it felt a little like entering a labyrinth. Once in your room though it was very comfortable.
