We were in Rome for a surprise for a dear friend, just for a couple of days. Our stay was great not only for the weather but for the B&B too. It was nice to see and find on the place, what it was described on the website. No bad surprises there. The guy who takes care of B&B is nice and available for any informationa. In your room you will find a map and directions for sites to see. i would come again for sure in this B&B.

We rated everything 8-9/10, except breakfast: not enough croissant, toast, ect. but you can use the kitchen whenever you want to prepare your own stuff.

Given the price of hotels in Rome, this B&B represents a good value especially if you fully use the kitchen facilities. The triple in which we stayed was spotless and the owner tries very hard to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The shared bathrooms (2 for 3 bedrooms) were never a problem. They are very clean but a bit dated with paint peeling and old amenities. The surroundings are full of tags and noisy but we never felt unsafe. Adding an air conditioning unit in each room and repainting / upgrading the bathrooms would make this place really outstanding.

My mom and I stayed at A Home for a Holiday for 3 nights. We arrived at 10pm, about 5 - 10 minute walk from San Giovanni. Not too hard to find. We got there and Vittorio welcomed us at the elevator. He gave us a book on Rome, some wine and biscuits for my mom. We had a nice room. going out to a large balcony. Every morning there was fresh Pastries brought up, cereal, coffee, water, and full use of the kitchen. There were two bathrooms, never had any trouble using them. When we wanted to check train times Vittorio let us use his laptop. There is wifi we just did not have a computer. Vittorio gave us maps, and we bought our Roma Passes from him. The area was not a bad area, just had to take a bus or Metro to get to major attractions. It is on the 6th floor but there is a lift. This was worth the price, very clean, comfortable stay and great host. Recommend this place!

Good location close to Metro which was very crowded at peak times. Bus information was difficult to find out. Rooms were a good size but single beds were hard and sofa bed not good enough for price, it should be a proper bed. Self service breakfast was fine with excellent pastries, ability to use kitchen 24/7 good with ample free tea/coffee and basic cakes/bread etc. We used it to cook a meal one night. Excellent restaurant nearby but a little expensive for family of four unless you just had pizzas. Vittoria was helpful though he should smarten up the bathrooms and ban smoking throughout as the shared balcony could be uncomfortable to non smokers. Lift was old & small but worked.

We had a wonderful stay here. We were greeted on our first day by the owner, who is a very pleasant man who speaks very good English and is very accommodating. We had a large room with three single beds in it that could be pushed together to make a bigger bed. There were two very clean shared bathrooms and a good shower. There is a kitchen facility where you can cook if you'd like. The owner drops off fresh pastries every morning before 8 o'clock. There is a deck that adjoins at least two of the rooms. It's a bit of a jaunt(~ 20 minutes walking) to the middle of the city but it's only a 5 minute walk from the subway, which will take you anywhere. The owner has ROMA passes to sell, which are very worth the 25 Euro. They offer free subway and bus for three days plus two free museum entries free and deals on the rest. I can't think of anything bad to say about this B and B. We loved it.

We loved this B&B Victor (owner) was terrific and very helpful. A sweet man. We did not have a laptop andhe brought his to our room. He arranged transportation to the airport and got Roma passed for us. He even brought us a bottle of wine. On our last night there he arrived at our door with 2 kinds of tiramisu! He should really invest in AC

We stayed for 6 nights. There is no better place for this price. It is only a few minutes walk to the Colosseum, close to buses and Metro. The place was very clean and the landlord is extremely nice and helpful. Next time we are in Rome, we will stay there again. Best place, best price!

The host is a good, kind gentleman. Easy to help the guest at any reasonable requests. My friend's passport was stolen by a thief in the metro, the host help this poor guy to return to home smoothly. room is good, even with a shared balcony. The location of hotel is not easy to find out, you may contact the host before you arrive.

Perfect for us. Owner lives in flat downstairs and so can be contacted if needed. He didn't mind us arriving early, and let us leave our luggage there on our last day until we went to the station. He provides lots of things for breakfast, including excellent crossants, and he encouraged us to use the kitchen whenever we wanted and to eat on the balcony, which is shared by the three rooms. Two bathrooms with toilets for three rooms, so no problem not being "en suite". Lift old fashioned but works. Highly recommended for cost and location.

We arrived quite late in the night at 11 PM and we had a bit difficulties to find the street. We were really pleased with the owner of the B&B he was very helpful all the time of our staying there. The breakfast not too big, a croissant or cereals but we appreciated very much the variety of the tea and the coffee was very good too. The room was clean, for two people who stayed only 2 days, spacious enough. We liked very much the terrace full of flowers were we had our coffee in the morning, although the weather was quite cold. The house has an elevator so we had no problem in carrying the bag up to the 3th floor. Overall we had a very good time, and definitely we'll go back.

A Home for Holiday is conveniently located close to the metro station and shops. The area is a quiet residential neighbourhood within a walking distance from the principal tourist attractions. The room itself was spacious enough and offered a good value for money. The kitchen was well-equipped, with basic food like cereals, bread and a variety of muffins, not to mention milk, tea and coffee. The two bathrooms, although slightly old-fashioned and in need of some remodelling, were clean and adequately equipped with basic cosmetics. Excellent atmosphere, as the whole three-bedroom complex is organized in such a way as to provide the necessary degree of privacy and independence. Breakfast (included in the room rate), consisting of cereals and freshly-baked sweet rolls, was fully adequate to carry us through to lunch. Vittorio, the owner, was more than helpful - he is the principal asset of this B&B, creating a congenial atmosphere and treating the guests as if they were his personal friends. Despite his rather basic English, we had no problems whatsoever in communicating with him (incidentally, he made himself available for 24 hours a day). All in all, we can recommend this place as an excellent alternative to more expensive and less welcoming hotels.

We had a great time at this b n b. The gentleman who owns it is absolutely lovely! He doesn't speak a lot of english, but gets his point across. He was so helpful for us arriving in Rome for the first time, pointing out directions, telling us about the metro etc - he has tickets you can buy for the metro and the vatican - and his prices are the same as you will get elsewhere so worthwhile. He even offered to bring down his computer for us to use, but the place also has wiFi so you can use your own computer if you have one. Breakfast is yum - pastries, but there is also cereal etc. You can have use of the kitchen so can cook. The floor we stayed on had 3 rooms, we had a tripple room which was MASSIVE. The double bed was perhaps not quite so comfortable, but if you're not too fussy it will be fine. There's a little balcony outside joining the 3 rooms. 2 bathrooms, both always clean. I would definitely recommend this place, especially to those who would like to cook every now and then. The location is pretty good, very close to the metro. It felt a little bit dodgy walking around late at night, but as long as theres more than one person it's fine.

The hotel is outside the historical centre, but very close to a subway station, making everything easily accessible. There is a wonderful restaurant just around the corner, and the staff were very welcoming and incredibly helpful. The rooms were large (larger than the average European hotel room by a substantial amount), there was a lovely terrace, an elevator, and kitchen facilities if you prefer to make your own meals. Overall, we would definitly stay here again. Great value and an overall wonderful experience.

Vittorio welcomes you like one welcomes a close friend. I had a flu - he cared me, provided me a syrup. I never saw before a more clean place. The bathrooms are provided with liquid soaps and creams. Fully equipped kitchen: nice dishes, cutlery, pans. Inside the refrigerator, juice, milk, water, butter, jams. The luxury of a coffee machine! In the morning, a plate of delicious, fresh croissants waits for you! It's like renting an apartment, I felt at home. A B & B four stars: Vittorio earn the fifth star when installing an air conditioner. Then, neither the Hilton Hotel will be a better place to stay. Thank you, dear Vittorio, for the best time we had at Rome!!!

The owner is a very nice man. The site says that breakfast is included but we found that we had to make it ourselves and there were not enough eggs or bread. There is a lift but it only worked for part of our stay. The rooms were clean, no view, no a/c, but the beds were comfortable.

Excellent B&B. Good money for value. The owner was very nice and extremely helpful. It is located nearby a metro station. There is an excellent and cheap restaurant just down the building. It appears that the B&B has got three and not two bedrooms as indicated on the website. The room with the sofa (which is not the bed) is also used as a single bedroom. We were in the double bed room and the only annoying thing was that the thin wall between the room and the bathroom made it very noisy when someone was having a shower. It was also rather hot (but still bearable as we went in May) and it would be good to inquire about the cooling facilities at disposal if you intend to go in summer. But these are just little comments, honestly I found nothing that would prevent me from going there again and I really recommend it, especially for short stays.

The owner was extremely nice and willing to serve and provide a nice experience. We really were able to enjoy being in an Italian "home". It is an apartment-type B&B so the closeness of the rooms makes them rather noisy. I would suggest using more modern mattresses and a proper bed instead of a sofa-bed. For those who do not dislike walking the place is actually walking distance from the main sights and has a bus and metro station nearby. A bit difficult to find, though, and the neighbourhood is filled with graffitti that gives it a shabby look.

The Bed&Breakfast, easily reached by escalator or stairs, is located at the 6th floor of an appartment building . Warm welcome by the owner and useful tips to get around. Owner takes care of everything so that you feel like at home. Useful kitchen to prepare own meals and a shared balcony to rest. Two shared clean bathrooms for three rooms. Easy to get to the metro (3 stations from Termini). I really recommand this place for a week or more in Roma. I had a great week staying there and met friendly people.

I would definately stay there again if my travel take me back to Rome.

Luca LoConte truly makes this your own home. You have the full run of kitchen, room, and bath. He will go out of his way to help, or have his family help you out as much as needed. You will not beat this deal unless you need to be waited on hand and foot. Anyone willing to make their own bed (or just leave it as is) will really appreciate the accomodations and service here.

We stayed here from the 29th of June to the 1st of July 2008 and we had a great time at the lovely apartment. This is a family run B&B on the 6th floor in an apartment near to one of the metro stations in Rome (San Giovanni). Its only 10 minutes from the Roma Termini which is the main station and is also close to the other attractions like the colosseum which are on the metro line. The owner of the B&B stays in the same building on another floor and was extremely helpful. There are 3 rooms and we were staying in the triple room which was very spacious and was attached to the balcony. The kitchen is shared and has coffee making facilities, refrigerator, microwave etc which the residents can use. There are 2 bathrooms located outside the rooms (one with a shower and the other with a tub, which were clean and decent sized. Rome was extremely hot and humid when we were there and an AC would have helped, but when we requested the owner to get a table fan for us, it was made available the same evening which was very nice of him. In short a good and cheap place to stay in Rome ..which I would definetly recommend.

The owner was a kind gentleman. The quiet area not far from the subway station. The breakfast was complete and delicious. The problem was about air conditioning. In fact, there was no air conditioning in the room. The bathroom wasn't also private. But it was usually empty. The other deficiency was about his english skill, but he afforded that, there was no problem.
