Big room with an amazing view, but lots of noise even though it was on the 6th floor. Big hassle trying to find Damiano when trying to check out because we were in the "casa nuova" in the other side of the building. He's very helpful - when you can find him. Great location, but better to face the courtyard and trade the view for less noise. No breakfast, but vouchers for the local bar were easy and we loved getting to know the local coffee bar family.

The location is very strategic, the public transport, the churches; St. John the Lateran, the La Scala Santa, St. Anthony. The name of the B&B is just written in typewritting that you wont find it at once. The staff, Damiano & Laura very accommodating and helpful & they attend to requests at once. There is 24 hr internet, this is great! There are two floor occupants using the kitchen, when the occupants of the 6th floor knock, you have to open and let them in without knowing whether they're really occupants of the other unit. Please, improve the doors, very noisy when you close & open. I will stay in the same place again provided that doors will be improved to minimize noise. Thanks

Lovely accommodation: clean and very comfortable. Helpful staff. Traffic could be noisy. Ideal walking distance to many historical sites. Instructions to find property, would suggest after leaving metro station at "Coin" shop, go left and walk through arch of old city wall, then turn left and walk towards the basilica facing you. Cross the road near this building, and the appartments are in the building facing you.

The locaiton of this hostel is awesome! It is just located opposite to the plaza San Giovanne~! And the receptionist is really helpful as he immediately give the map to us and write down the time we need to walk between each sightseeing point! The room is clean and spacious. One point I have to say is that the location of the hostel on the map here is wrong!!! We get lost in Rome and cant findthe exact location of this hostel at 9 sth that night!!! Luckily a very nice couple use their "correct" map to help us figure it out finally!

The double room was spacious. Could watch mtv. nice kithchen, maybe a little small though. pastry, cakes for breakfast good. teas, coffee, water, juice. staff helpfull and welcoming. The door of the hostel inside was difficult to open, near the Irish college, about hr walk from trevvi fountain, collesseum on the way. Overall good stay.

The owner rent rooms in an appartment with a shared bathroom and a shared small kitchen. There is no wc in the room. The kitchen is very small and there is no public space (salon or living room) to sit, to read or to look on tv. There is a shared pc to access on internet. The room is close the public transportation.

The room was clean, close to public transportation and not too far from Rome's attractions. However, the bathroom did not have a toilet seat, which I think is mandatory no matter how inexpensive a place is. The room was noisy, but I think that goes with most of the city. If you have a room with a window in Rome, expect it to be noisy. Otherwise, the place was reasonably decent. Most important, clean and comfortable- including the bed! The service was friendly and we had internet access. Overall, for the price, the place is a great deal!

For this price the B&B Happy Holiday is really a very good choice! 10 minutes to the train station, 5 minutes to the colloseum. We had direct view on the basilica san giovanni in laterano from our room. The size and interior of our room was good, we had a shared bathroom (two bathrooms for four hotel rooms). everything was very clean. We got bed-cloths and towels; the room is air conditioned with many europlug-sockets. The receptionist is really very friendly, we could use his computer to check out the departure date of our train. Breakfast is also very fine: milk, juice, water, bread, toast, butter, marmelade, nutella, cakes, cornflakes.

This B&B is really well located, almost at Piazza di San Giovani in Laterano close to the Basilica and to metro stations (San Giovani and Colosseo). Only 10 min. walk and you can reach Colosseo. Staff were really welcoming and I was happy also due to the Air-Conditioning. As a little problem I find size of the kitchen and glass doors in our room. It´s a pity that Happy Holiday doesn´t offer some rooms with private bathroom as well. In Rome, I met a friendly Italians, who wanted to help and some of them even speak English.

This hotel has A/C which was really nice. The location is at a busy intersection so there is a lot of noise even at night. Next time, I think I will stay more central to Rome. The breakfast was just packaged pastries that are available throughout the day, nothing special. But the owner was very helpful and knowledgeable about the city.

We had a very warm welcoming and were given a map which he wrote exactly were we should go in Rome. A little hard to find because name of road is easily confused with the road leading down to the colosum (which can be accessed in 5-7mins.) Call him before you book is my advice... ;-) Nice breakfast, lots of cakes and bread that is available all day if you want, and was nice to be able to cook dinner in the kitchen. The manager even lets you use his computer in reception when ever you want. Brand new decoration, Def recommend staying her when in Rome.

The bed and breakfast was one of the best i have stayed in overall. When compared to the others overall this was the best. Breakfast, free kitchen, friendly helpful and internet put it over the top. Other bed and breakfasts i stayed in do not have internet and only offer a coffee and pastry for breakfast... (what kind of breakfast is that??? 2 euro in total for all) Downsides: Window in room was broken, glass window on door to room which is bad for sharing facilities, showers did not drain properly and the broken window.

It was my second time in rome and as always I was satisfied about the city. The Hotel is more like a flat share with common bathroom and kitchen. The atmosphere was kindly and friendly and you will get your own key to be independent from the reception. The walls are quite thin and you will here a lot of your surroundings but at night it was always quite. Positive is the central location, with good connection to Bus and Subway. Good cheap and classical italian food you will find near the colloseum at the restaurant Tratorria Pizzeria, it's located at the corner on your way to the colosseum.

We were very happy with Damino(our host) he gave us a map(although some of the buildings are turned the wrong way on the map and this takes some time to get oriented, at times we walked blocks the wrong way and then realized it) with all the information needed and a great resturant with delicious food and real Itallian atmosphere-no tourists! And great price! The hotel was within walking distance to the colliseum, the metro close and the bus too. The Roma pass is good if you are going to visit many museums(Vatican not included) then all public transportation is free for 3 days but I dont think that it is that expensive? The breakfast(coffee and crosiant) was a the bar next around the corner and the people there very friendly and even gave an extra coffee without charge. But we did leave a small tip everyday for fun. Overall I would recomend this place for anyone looking for a clean place to sleep and great price. My parents were with me and they thought a table and chair would of been handy but then there was not really the room and mostly you are out the whole day anyway, but since they are older and we were there in the winter, taking a break for then would ok been ok.

The host and hostess were a most welcoming and extra helpful couple right through our week-long stay. Our room was large, clean, and well kept. Access to snacks and coffee in the kitchen at all hours was a real feature. It was possible to make the occasional small meal. The hotel, across the road from St John Lateran Cathedral, is placed in an excellent position 100m from a great variety of bus connections, and within easy access to restaurants. When comparing Happy Holiday with our stay in two other full hotels in Tuscany and another in Rome, Happy Holiday was the best in value for money.

Our host was unbelievable! My son had severe food poisoning, and our host came to the hospital to translate for us and brought us medication. Such kindness is unprecedented! In addition to the hospitality, the room was clean and large. The location is excellent. I highly recommend Happy Holiday.

First it was hard to find the B&B as it is just a flat in a townhouse with no big sign. When I arrived w/ my mom there was a note waiting for me that there were some problems w/ pipes and Damiano have booked us to other hotel for the first night. 2nd night we were moved to the other B&B Crazy Holiday and even better room given. Damiano paid for the taxi and the rooms were awesome. Clean, modern and kitchen was available w/ some tea & cofee. Even my mom was excited about this accommodation & location. Close to the centrum & shops available just downstairs.

We were actually moved to the Crazy Holiday B&B, as I guess the other was full. But it was still close by, subway only a few blocks away. Our room was on the inside of the building, towards a courtyard, so very quiet. Good selection of 'do-it-yourself' foods for breakfast, plus a fridge to put anything in that you purchased, and a stove if you wanted to cook your own meals. We enjoyed our stay, the room was nice and the price, I think, reasonable.

The only problem we had was not being told to go to another location on arrival. We turned up to the appartment, to be told by a cleaner that we were meant to go to another building about 5 minutes walk away to book in. Apart from this the stay was excellent and the accomadation was outstanding in all aspects.

The owner/manager was incredibly helpful and the fact that the breakfast foods were free and available at any time was very generous. Great place to be able to get to the sights of Rome from, and for the price, it was good value, again for Rome. Easily walkable to the Coliseum, about a 10-15 min walk which if you look at the map of Rome gives you an idea of the convenient location. The staff were extremely helpful, giving us a map on our first day and pointing out the relevant places of interest, bus routes, metro routes. Without this, it would have made the trip more hard work. Beware, if you visit Rome on the last Sunday of the month, the Vatican is free....but be prepared to get there early and queue! we we're queing for 2 1/2 hours to get in!! Another helpful hint is to buy a Roma Pass, €20 each, but it gets you free travel and you can jump the queue at the Coliseum, which after the Vatican was a blessing! Happy Holiday was a cool little place, reminded me of my travelling days, had the feel of a hostel, but for 2 days in Rome, when you won't be at the hotel much, it was fine...it had air con, which was fantastic given the heat in July!!

Damien, the owner or manager, is great. As soon as we got there he showed us our room and showed us the kitchen which has food that you can eat 24 hours! Then he gave us a map and showed us exactly where to go and how to get there. The room was big and had great air conditioning :) The hotel is right down the street from the Colosseum and there is a bus stop and a metro stop very close. The only draw back at the time we were there was that we had to wait a bit to use the bathrooms. Maybe get up early or take a shower at night. Overall recommend. Worth the price.

Overall a very nice place to stay. The room we originally booked had broken air conditioning but before we even given the keys the owner told us of the problem and offered to move us to an upgraded room at no extra cost. The owner then introduced us to the surroundings and pointed out the best sites to see and best method of travel between them. There was quite a lot of traffic outside so a little noisy but no a major concern because we were so tired at the end of each day. I was very pleased with the stay and would be more than happy to stay with them again.

The Hotel was ideally situated - close enough to all the attractions, but far enough away for the prices of the restaurants and bars to be reasonable. On arriving the man who showed us our room was very helpful with regard to showing us on the map where all the sites were and what bus number to catch and where to get a Roma pass which is a much cheaper way of getting around, plus it gets you into 2 of the museums. The top you can find at this price. The B&B is strategically located, both for services (transports, food) and for touristic places (5 min walk and you are under the Colosseum, 10 you reach the Vittoriano). Very good welcoming, nice staff. Useful map and tips. Huge room with nice IKEA furniture. Kitchen small. It should have a microwave. Hotel surroundings a bit frightening if you arrive by underground because there are beggars but they seem harmless. Good connections with historic centre.

This B&B is very noisy, for several reasons: - room #2 gives on a crossroads close to hospital, and its fenetre is broken, - the hall of B&B lays out WEB-access, used late the evening, and also by people from another stage. And thus, the input-door snap without stop, which resounds very extremely in the rooms.

Hello, Please notice that in the rooms are no tables. Hard to write a postcard. And for 2 people there was 1 office chair only, this is very poor. Breakfast only with very dry bread, no butter and only sweet rolls and so on. Mind you, the fresh bakery is down below in the same building. Why do they want to fill us up with all this sweet stuff? One of the two showers on the 3rd floor did not function. This was not just the days that we were there but already a long time i guess. If nobody claims this failure, it will always be so that certain thing will not be repaired. So please go and check this because there are some things not ok. And with just a little spending money to it, it can be solved. And if it is not done than it will be the same year after year. that,s a pity.

I really enjoyed this B&B. It has a few pros and a few cons. The Pros: Big rooms for price. Included internet use. Elevator. Kitchen/ breakfast area can be used all day to make snacks and prepare food. Very close to bus, Metro, and only 20 mins walk to coloseum. When asked the staff responded well. Great Value for money. The Cons: Loud, bring ear plugs, near a hospital with lots of sirens. request room 1, it is next to the courtyard and much more quiet. The other rooms have only single pane glass. The bathroom is shared on each floor, but large. The directions and marking of the building are poor. The building is on Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano, number 26. It is along via Merulana or via Matteo Boiardo. The entrance is facing Piazza San Giovanni. All in all a great value for the money. By the way, take the metro to Piazza San Giovanni, it is a long walk with bags.

The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very modern style and the common WC was very clean. In addition there was free internet. The location is especially very central so that the metro station is very close and you can go everywhere including termini easily. If you look for just a bed and breakfast in a central area, I strongly recommend Happy Holiday.

It was a good choice, near by the beatiful San Giovanni in Laterano basilic and not far from the very center of the Rome. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Rooms has rather basic furniture but are clean and spacious. Kitchen with all utensils are available all day long. I can recommend this hotel to everyone.

This place; I would come back to. For the money, it was right. The guy actually came to find me as I was trying to find the hotel from the Subway. It was within walking distance from underground and the Coliseum. You could get around fairly well. Nice priced right award winning restaurant next door. I could not figure out the HD TV but I did not have time to see it anyway. Once you know the keys and the right floor you live on; it was all-ok.

Great B&B in a residencial area, just off the hostorical centre of Rome. Easily connected by both metro and buses. Every apartment has 4 or more rooms, suitable for 2-4 guests each. We shared 2 bathrooms with all other guests staying in the same apartment. the bathrooms are cleaned daily. the owners provided a self-service breadfast buffet, clean towels and even bath room articles like shampoo and shower gels. Excellent price and quality ratio. There is a internet-conneted computer, and the the owners also offered to make reservations at various galleries, which we appreciated a lot.

Offers clean, spacious and comfortable lodging in a great location. The rooms include air conditioning, safety box . The location, about 5 minutes from The Colosseum is great for site seeing. It is in a safe area near restaurants and small groceries. It is convenient to bus and train transportation. Laura and Damiano were very friendly and helpful, and generous hosts. We highly recommend the Happy Holidayto anyone looking for a bed and breakfast near the Colosseum or for that matter anywhere in Rome. You will not be disappointed!! It is very clean and new.

Unfortunately no room in Happy Holiday was available because of damage caused by water. But the Happy Holiday crew was absolutely friendly and obliging. They do expend effort very much to find another room for us. They organized a transport to the other hotel and paid the additional cost. We are absolutely delighted about our stay in rom and want to say thank you "Happy Holiday".

wish we had stayed there the last two nights of our trip. Place is close and yet far enough from Termini. It's best to take the bus there...we had trouble locating the place after getting off the Metro. The bus going back to the Termini is just right around the corner of the place. The kitchen is equipped enough for me to do some light cooking for the BB. There is plenty of pastry/juices/milk stocked for a continental breakfast. I would definitely go there again esp. for their excellent pricing. The owner switched us to a bigger place (2 adj. rooms) since we have a 2 yr old.

Bien comunicado. Comodo y agradable. Un para de inconvenientes: - La zona es muy ruidosa y las ventanas no están consecuentemente aisladas. - No pudimos pagar con VISA y tuvimos que pagar en metálico.

A fine place to stay for a visit to Rome. Safe neighbourhood, friendly host, clean rooms. The self-providing breakfast was Italian but sufficient. Indeed close to metro and Collosseum. For a good night sleep: keep windows closed.
