We arrived in Rome several hours before our check-in time, but didn't want to wait around the train staion with our luggage. We went to EmilyHouse and Emily graciously checked us in and stored our luggage so we could get on with our vacation while our room was being prepared. The room was clean and we felt safe and secure. We will definitely stay there again if we are fortunate enough to ever get back to Rome.

I was a bit sceptic when we first arrived to this PLACE. It felt like we and the street vendors were the only people on the tram heading this way. However, after several days, we felt safe and realized it was nothing to worry aboutt. Actually I am very glad we stayed here and got to see the real Rom outside the touristic spots. Something I regret I didnt do more(we found out on our last night) the very delicious restaurants and gelaterias where we lived. The street before hours had the best gelateria of all just heading 200 m up next to a restaurant that also became a favourite. I have seen bad reviews on this B&B and I have understood there is two of them. The one in Porta Maggiorie at least is spotless, great breakfast and nice!!Have a good trip:)

We stayed in Emily House for 5 nights. The place is really nice, charmy, cozy and clean. There is bus / tram station very close to the address, which is really comfortable, but it's time schedule is a little chaotic and you can feel yourself like a real gladiator trying to get in or get out from it for most of the time. There is a direct connection to Termini station (around 10 minutes) and direct line to coliseum, which I do not recommend, because it takes around 30 minutes and it is not very regular. My advice is to travel to termini and use the metro, which is quite faster and comfortable. The area is filled with immigrants, so I would not recommend to travel on foot back home, but we didn't had any problems with the them if I have to be honest. Another plus is that there are shops and pizza to-go in really close proximity. My only complaint is that the toilet seat was missing and not replaced for the entire stay and the towels were not replaced very often. So the bottom line is: The place is really nice and Emily is really kind and helpful woman and she's really trying to make your stay pleasant. I recommend it! Thanks, Emily! :)

We booked a Double Room with Private Bathroom for 4 nights. When we arrived, we had the surprise to find that our room is availble only for 2 nights and for the rest of our stay we have to move into a room with external bathroom. Emily explained us that there are some issues with the water installations and they need to fix them. She gave us 2 posibilities: accept the situation and receive 5 Eur discount :) or find another hotel. In the 3th day, we changed the room. In the evening, when we got back, guess where was the biggest noise on the floor comming from? From our first room and was not the plumber as in the morning we met the inhabitants in the kitchen, preparing their breakfast. We wouldn’t recommend this property to nobody.

It is a very small hotel so everything keeps personal which creates nice circumstances. The room is clean and the toilet is quite nice. You can achieve the hotel in about 15 minutes from the main train station. The only thing which is a little poor is the breakfast.

It was no greater problem to find the place with given descriptions, about 20 min with tram from main railway station. We had luck when arriving, Emily just came out of the door for getting something to eat, when we where at the door. Don't know, what we would have done, if at that time nobody would have been there. Unfortunately her English is not the best (so we better would have learned Italian ;-)). The room was ok for just sleeping as we wanted to do, and is quiet enough from traffic or town life aspect, but if several rooms are occupied noises from neighbouring rooms have to be accepted. Breakfast is in the room, while you have to carry it from the floor (what also might get noisy in the morning if your are not the first). Breakfast is nothing from 'German point of view', from Italian one it might be acceptable. So you can as well have some breakfast in some street shop. Way to city center of Rom takes some time (tram, bus, metro), but most locations can be reached within 30..45 min. And for that we sensed the price as acceptable.

EmilyHouse was a good value foor the cost. Emily and her daughter were knowledgeable and very helpful. Public transportation was easily accessable into the tourism areas. There is shopping and several nice restaurants a few blocks away. I would use EmilyHouse again when in Rome

A little too far from the center tow because located in East periphery. The room is rather noisy with respect to the vicinity of the top. Damage because managing it is very nice and the small restaurants located near to the room are convivial.

We stay in Emily house in september for 8 nights and we were satisfied with hospitality and conditions of the place. The surrounding of the neighbourhood looks a bit unsafe but after a while we been asure the area was quiet and safe.Transport links to the major city spots as Colloseo or to Piazza Venezzia was excellent, with busses or trams running on every 5 minutes. In general it's a good value for the money and I can recomend this place to stay & gladly with return to stay again.

Our first visit to Rome was enhanced by our stay at Emilyhouse. Emily extremely hospitable. Everything was excellent with super breakfast. Don't hesitate to book. Those with limited mobility may find the 15 mins. journey into the centre of Rome by tram a little difficult but tram stop only 3 minutes walk from B&B. Transport network very good. Tickets available from tabacconist on the corner. Surrounding area of Emilyhouse a little daunting but never felt intimidated even late at night. The standard of the accommodation made up for this. Two excellent restaurants nearby but many more near the Termini Station. Rome was wonderful!!

Initial impression of the place was dismal because of the surrounding neighborhood. The room we got was for four people a full and two singles which took up all the space with the beds butted up together against one wall with access only via the end of the beds. Bathroom was nicely re-modeled. We stayed 4 days and the towels were not replaced (maybe European standard). The room was clean and we did not spend a whole lot of time there plus the air conditioning was very effective. The breakfast is very European with rolls and salami and cheese. The place had a lot of character. Do not expect US standards. The only hicup was when we checked in we were told the credit card machine was broken and we would have to pay in cash (EUR). Since we were not prepared for this we had to get a cash advance from our credit card which took half a day to get resolved with the American Express office. Very little English is spoken but communication was established. Very nice hostess. Close of tram line which takes you to the Termini station (main).

We only spent one night there. It was very good. The room and bathroom was very clean and in a very good condition. Just by the balcony door was a thin strip of somenthing what might have been mold. The stuff was very nice, even though their English is basic. Very quiet at night(probably rather due to decent guests than room isolation which seems to be poor in all hotels). What we did not like at all was the location (but we knew before it was not nice) and did not regret so much we had to leave the hotel because they had no vacancies for the following nights. Good value for the money.

Very good service for the price payed. We were a little bit scared when we saw the zone. But nothing bad was. It offers directly public transport to TERMINI station or to the Center's Rome or to Villa Burghesse park. The staff was excellent. In the last day we left near the afternoon, the staff had some things to do outside. We were alone there. We just let the keys inside the room and bye. It was a nice surprise. Good luck and many clients to you.

The location seems a bit unsafe at first, but we walked there at night without any problem. You can easily move between the b&b and Termini Station in about 10-20 minutes (depending on traffic) with two tram lines that stop there every 5 minutes or so. The b&b itself is very nice and family-run, so you get a very welcoming atmosphere although there might be some communication problems with the staff if you don't speak Italian.

The managers at Emily House were wonderful and very helpful. The area the B & B is located in is more suited for a single male traveler, a young but experienced couple, and/or a more mature well traveled older couple. Although the rooms are not fancy, there were good for the price and the breakfast is excellent! Again, the best part were the managers of the facility. They assisted us in staying at the other Emily House B & B closer to the Coloseo for our last night in Rome. This second B & B is best suited for couples traveling together or families, as it has two bedrooms and a kitchen area. We would return to this B & B (the original one for sure and possibly the one near the Coloseo) if again in Rome.

Emily House is great for people looking for a decent stay in a nice location for cheap price. It is great for young people who want to visit Rome. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood and it is 1 minute away from bus and tram stops. From there you can easily access the city center and the Termini station pretty quickly. Rooms were big enough and very clean. The breakfast was decent - cereal, croissants, yoghurt, bread, boiled eggs, yellow cheese, salami, coffee, tea, juice, milk. It was more than enough to give you the carbs you need to go sightseeing. Also just two blocks away there is a very nice family italian restaurant which offers great food on decent price - pizza was only 6 euro. You can ask Emily for the exact directions. She does not speak English well but we understanded each other.

Emily was the kindest host. The room was clean with a cute porch and air conditioning. It was in an odd part of town and the directions were not as good as they could have been, most likely due to translation issues. The room was not cleaned during our stay and she does not take credit cards. However we loved her, we loved our breakfast, she lugged out an ironing board for me, and let us leave our luggage on the last day we were in town. Overall it was good. Molto bene.

EmilyHouse is an excellent choice for a true, B&B experience. We felt like family from the start. Personable owner goes 200% to meet your individual needs. Knows the bus/metro routes & the best Gelato in Rome (Fattoria) & best neighborhood restaurant (Romulus & Remus). Tasty breakfast menu. Great memory-foam matresses. Very easy access to Tram #14 and bus #81 - to Train Stations & Colosseum. Some English skills. We enjoyed our first stay so much, we cancelled our other reservations at the end of the trip and returned to EmilyHouse and my sister extended her stay an extra 2 days! Has 'air' & refrig. in room

Estuvimos aqui una semanita en julio de 2009. Las habitaciones eran amplias, asi como el cuarto de baño. Además la dueña limpiaba todos los días. El desayuno también era fantastico, teníamos una amplia variedad de productos a elegir. La relación calidad/ precio de este B&B es muy buena Lo peor, que la zona donde esta situado no es muy bonita; pero esta muy bien comunicado con el centro de la ciudad y con la estación Termini gracias a los tranvías 5,14 y 19 y los autobuses 810 y 81. this Emilyhouse is actually really well-done B&B, room is really nice, it has really everything, fridge, nice bathroom, airconditioner, TV etc.. you would be really satisfied with it. just something pity is loctation, Rome is not that big city like NY or... so this house is not that far from centre or old rome city. but it's located east part of rome and which is connected with tram 5, 14 and bus 810 which is connected to Coloseo. but 810 doesn't work after 20:30, so we had to come back to hotel afterwards via Termini and tram 5, 14. apart from that, we really liked it. breakfast is really nice, good price, Emily is really nice. you will like here.

This B&B is excellent and the owner is a wonderful person. She helped us allot in finding different locations, she welcomed us every day with smile and openness. The rooms are big enough for a comfortable staying, it's very quiet, the breakfast is more than OK, with milk, tea, croissants, everything. The public transportation is not far, you have access at the 5 or 14 trams and then the metro and in only 15 minutes you are in the centre of Rome. Is not quite in the middle of the city, but far enough to travel to and back from the centre. I would recommend to anyone to go there.

Is a great place to stay in Rome and not that expensive. The lady that managed it is very helpful and she tries to do her best for helping us. The sorroundiongs are not that great, but well, its Rome. They have internet near and a great not expensive restaurant(Ask Emily and try not to care the angry chef). We get scare when we got there because the place is difficult to spot. We recomended to get ther the first time by taxi from the termini station or the airport to find the place. The place have trams and buses near by (50 mts)that can take you to the coliseo (bus 81), the vatican (bus 81)and the termini station (tram 14 and 5), by careful to pick the correct direction (when you come from the city to the bed and breakfast you have to take the tram that goes to prenestrina and try to find a some spots that can alert you when you get off the trams or bus. We use a store that calls Antonella, when the tram or bus pass that store we get in the next stop). The breakfast is also great. We have to recomended this place, is no expensive, nice, near the center of rome and termini station, clean and with Emily, who is a great host (I hope she coud speak a little more english, but we understand each other well.

Absolutely ideal for staying close to the heart of Rome whilst paying reasonable rates. It's a minutes walk to numerous trams/buses then 5 minutes or so into the centre but it's also an easy walk. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, what more do you want when you're in Rome! The lady that owned the B&B was exceptionally polite and friendly and made you feel very welcome.
