Don't book this hotel , or cancel as soon as possible. You may wait for 30 minutes in front of the door. They are very arrogant and no respect for guests. Non prenotate! Totalmente inaffidabile e arrogante. Passa parola!

Absolutely wonderful! The owners were pleasant, welcoming, and charming. Upon check-in, they spoke very good English and we were able to communicate very effectively. They were extremely helpful in showing us around Rome as well. The three rooms were all very spacious, clean and decorated beautifully. The only downside is that you could hear talking from the common area in our room, but it wasn't excessively loud. It was wonderful having a kitchen to use. Would definitely stay here again!!

The Location is not bad the only thing is that it is kinda hard to find.. we were 3 so we took the room with one big bed and a full size bed, the big bed was okay but the full size bed was squeaky and we could here every move the third person made. the breakfast provided is not really a breakfast it more of a chocolate twinkie, toast, old fruit, and coffee. early in the morning you can hear a dog come to your window and bark for a good 20min . if they change the full size bed and provided a good breakfast I would stay here again. Staff is helpful.

We met at our arrival with the person in charge of the management of the room but that is it. That is far to be a B&B as we may imagine in an other country since nobody was living there, we had no contact with the local population and that was a bit a pity. The rooms are in an underground, fresh and dark.

It was my first time staying at the Double B on my 4th trip to Rome. I will stay there again. It was great having a kitchen, and tho there were no views being on the basement level, it was quiet, a rarity in Rome. Valerio was very helpful with local information and the location was excellent, close to the Metro and a short walk to the Colosseum, the Termini Stazione, Santa Maria Maggiore and a wonderful park called Giardini Emanuel Vittorio. I was there in Feb, off season, and I think it was the best deal in Rome price-wise and for what you got. Grazie per tutti!

This B&B have not a reception, so when I arrived I had to phone the staff for enter (and I had to wait outside for about 15 minutes, while it was raining!) Rooms are underground (plane -1) I suppose in summer time that could be a problem. Outside the window of my room there was a dog who make some noise, but luckly not for long. Anyway this B&B is very clear, with a lot of public space; there is a plenty breakfast and staff is very kind. I feel to reccomend it

The accommodation is fairly good, the only issue is breakfast which is very basic... And also the room we stayed in was quite noisy at night (dogs yapping, people outside talking very loudly at 4AM!).

Got off to a wrong start. Noone present to welcome us, even if we had announced our arrival time by e-mail. Had to call the owner, and then someone let us in 10 minutes later. We were not shown how to turn on the A/C, TV did not work, no hot water. But I sent the owner an e-mail, and the next day we had a new TV in place and the A/C in order, great response.

Very clean and nice room, bed and bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location near the Metro and walking distance to Colosseum. The only negative things to mention would be the tiny breakfast and lack of A/C (which means open window, which means high noise, even if it is a back street)

The hotel is in a quiet street that looks a bit dodgy but we didn't have any problems at night. The manager doesn't stay on the premises after 9pm, so when we arrived at 9.10pm, we had to call him and wait 20 mins for him to get there and let us in. The rooms were very nice! The shower got a bit cold though. The common area was nice too. There is free internet, but you have to ask for the password. The manager didn't carry any change when we paid on check-in, so we had to leave a couple of Euro on the bed when we left. Over all, the place was nice, not far from the Colleseum and Termini Station (20 mins walk). Breakfast could have been better. I may stay again, if I can get there before 9pm!

Location very good, 20 mins walk to Colosseum, 2 mins. to Metro and 2 stops to Termini bus connections very good. Area relatively quiet for Rome. 3 Rooms in Souterrain. Rooms small but just about OK for sleeping. Very warm in communal area & bedrooms. A/C not working properly or not adjusted low enough. Breakfast poor. Had to make own coffee, tea, etc. Food was dry biscuits with expired sell-by date, butter & jams plus small cakes. We bought rolls & croissants in shops around the corner. All in all not good value for money. Yes, you can stay here, but for not more than €50/room & night.

It was a great place to stay with my friends! valerio was very kind and the rooms are clean and comfortable. it was a little bit farway from the city center, 15 minutes by metro. during the day it was no problem and travelling was really easy, but during the nights if you like to go out late you will have to return by taxi! anyway, i think it is worth it to stay in double b, price is excellent and the place is really good!

Annoying problem: at the time of booking, We have said time of our arrival (at 9 pm, after a long flight abroad) but no staff in the b&b. We waited in front of the gatean hour and a half.

Difficult property to review. Things we liked about it: room was spacious & clean, reasonable price & internet use included. The location was excellent for our needs; close to the Manzoni Metro stop which is only a couple of stops from train station, making it easy to get around the city. No one stays on the premises so it is necessary to contact Valerio to let him know when you are arriving. We called to announce our arrival & he agreed to meet us. But when we got there, no one answered the door bell. We called him again & he said he would be right over. We waited, no Valerio. Finally a woman from another B&B on the upper floor opened the door & let us into Double B&B & showed us our room. She spoke little English so we weren't sure when breakfast was served or if it was self service. No instruction on how to use the unfamiliar coffee maker. Valerio did show up the next morning & he is very pleasant, but when we informed him we would be paying by credit card, (it states clearly on the Venere web site that credit cards are accepted)he stated he does not have a credit card machine & we needed to pay with cash. As we were having some problems with ATM cash withdrawal, this was a potential problem. We did not see or hear from him again until we had to contact him to arrange to pay him the morning of our departure. We had a train to catch & needed to pay cash, so we had to call him the night before to ask him to come in time to give him the payment & get a receipt. He suggested we just leave the cash, which we were unwilling to do. He finally said he would have a friend, Giovanni come over at 7:30am to take the payment. 7:30 came and went, no Giovanni. We were getting ready to send Valerio an email stating we would send payment when we got home, when Giovanni & Valerio showed up, so we paid & rushed to get our train. Bottom line: if Valerio was more of a presence on the property & they followed their stated credit card policy, review would have been better

Globally nice place to stay, fresh rooms, very clean, modern decoration, self-service and kitchen available, web access (can be very usefull)... but ... noisy dogs at 7am as well as the other travelers - if bad luck as we had -, no daylight in the room, shower head broken, no air conditionning as announced on the website, industrial croissants for breakfast, and quite far away from the historical center. Buses can reach the B&B but you never know wich one and at what hour ...?! We would recommend it only if you sleep well and keep easily your good mood! :o)

This B and B added much difficulty to our Rome experience. It was first difficult to check in - we waited for a while and then had to find a pay phone to call someone who called someone else (non-english speaking) to give us a key to our room. After leaving to explore the city we came back to find that the key did not work to our room but we were able to get into the building so we spent the night on the tiled floor of the kitchen/common area. The next morning we were able to contact Valerio who told us there was a trick to opening the lock of which nobody had previously informed us. The only reason why I stayed there was because he agreed to let us change to another room with a fully working lock. Therefore, I can evaulate two (of four) rooms: very spacious but neither room had air conditioning, both shower heads were broken, and breakfast was not served by anyone (croissants and biscuits were on the table but coffee had to be prepared by yourself). It was a horrible first experience but okay in the end because Valerio was very apologetic and tried to fix the situation. In general, not worth the location and price in comparison to other venere.com reservations.

Sehr gute Lage, eigenes Bad, Zimmer o.k.: Preis-Leistungsverhältnis gut!

We spend one week in Roma, the place is fine and convenient (close to a subway station). The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean, spacious with individual bathroom as depicted in the venere.com website. The BnB is a three bedroom flat on the lower ground floor of an early 20th century Roman house. It is about 150m from Manzoni metro station (line A) and other buses within 5min walk (watch out for falling oranges from the trees!). All rooms lead onto the central breakfast area. Guests are not meant to use the kitchen themselves, but we could use it to warm up the milk for our little girl's bottle. Our triple room was large, well decorated (mix of contemporary and original brickwork) and spotless. Our return flight was in the end of the afternoon, and Valerio kindly gave us a key so that we could leave our luggage and collect it in the afternoon. Breakfast was good though some butter would have been nice ;o). We have already recommended this location to friends thinking about a Rome trip.

This was a great place to stay! It was near the metro, but off the noisy street, away from traffic. The host, Valerio, was very helpful and friendly. You do have to make sure he knows when you are coming, because it would not be easy to find by yourself. The rooms were very clean! The free internet was great! The breakfast was simple, but fresh, and that seems to be the case in most of the B&B's I read about in Rome. The rooms were near the kitchen, so in the am the noise from there was kind of loud, but they did not start early so it was fine. We went back there after a week of traveling, and it was very nice to return. It exceeded our expectations, and we will highly recommend it to others!

L'allotjament està molt be.

Double Bed was wonderful place to stay. Every positive review I read here was true and actually even better!! The host was super nice and very welcoming. He kindly answer all our questions and helped us with how to get around the city. Restraunts and shops he recommended were abusolutely great, and we were very happy to experience non-touristy places. The breakfasts the host prepared for us were beautiful. He even packed us breakfast for the last morning since we had to catch early train. How wonderful is that! Definately recommend.

Once we found the place, Valerio was welcoming and helpful with directions and made some great recommendations for restaurants and shopping etc. However, our room was really in a basement with the window just at street level. There was no fan or A/C so we had to leave the window open for everyone to see in as it was hot. It is a noisy street with motorbikes and pedestrians. This problem could easily be overcome if a ceiling fan was installed. The owner said he would leave some food for us for breakfast because he doesnt serve until 8.30am which is quite late for a day touring Rome but didnt so we had to buy it elsewhere. Some other guests were party goers and came in at all hours drunk and noisy. I think this would be suited to young couples and singles who sleep in late.

We stayed 8-13 September 2007 and the Manzoni Metro was still closed. Shame as it was just round the corner. The rooms were nice enough and clean but all the doors really could do with some WD40! Also the flushing noise from the bathroom next door and barking dogs meant no sleeping in, which is useful if you have to get up early to see the sights or catch a plane!

This was our first stay at Double B and we selected it after reviewing the previous ratings on the venere site. We are fairly independant travelers, have stayed in B&Bs before and know not to expect the accommodations or service you would get from a hotel but always enjoyed the experience. We consider our stay at Double B to be one of the WORST travel experiences we have ever encountered. We never saw the owner / host until the last day when we called and insisted he come to the site so we could pay him. We called him on our arrival since the place was locked and had to wait 30 min until a cleaning person arrived to let us in then had to wait almost an hour for our room to be cleaned. In the interim a very nice friend of the owner showed up and gave us our keys. The air conditioning did not work and the temps were in the 80 to 90 range. There was NO breakfast provided and a sign in the common area indicated we were not to use the kitchen on our own. It was very noisy as our room shared a common wall with a bakery next door whose employees would arrive around 3 AM to start preparations and baking. I would not recommend this B&B to anyone!

We found the place quite difficult to find but once we got oriented it was fine. The room was smaller then we had hoped but the bathroom was fine. Breakfast was not good at all and most mornings it was late. One evening we got to the B&B and there were no towels left for us and that was very annoying. We were in Rome for a week and met some nice people there but I am not sure I would stay there again.

We arrived in the mid evening as scheduled and could not get an answer at the door, had to go to another much more expensive hotel down the street after waiting 2 hours. Next day we got a key to room and they actually tried to charge for the night I didn't stay. The other guests were loud and appeared to be having parties all the time, kitchen was not to be used yet the others did use it .. ALOT. Small attempt to speak our language , although all correspondence was in our language ( english ). Breakfast consisted of just bread , jellies and coffee, second morning they were 1/2 hour late so we couldn't eat as we had a plane to catch. No offers of help were ever made such as a ride to train for airport , suggestions to good eating places, tours ... nothing. It appeared that if you spoke the language you got much better treatment. Never met owner, although he was referred to alot. All rules were broken by other guests. My shampoo was even stolen when the room was cleaned ! A very disappointing stay. The subway station closest to hotel is closed for renovations but that was never mentioned even after I specifically asked about it before arriving. That is a big deal when trying to follow directions to get to this hotel. Awful stay !!! We would never go back to Rome and most definetly not this bed and breakfast!

When we reached Rome, the metro that near B&B has not finished. And I think that location in the map is not clear. However, everything about B&B is nice.

We only stayed there one night, because there weren't more avaiable days, but it was fantastic. The place and Valerio (the owner) are very nice.

We lived there for 3days 2night, we were very enjoyed the environment and service there. If I will come to Roma next time, I sure I will choose "double B" again. The owner of double B named Valerio is a very good and nice guy, I would like to say thank you him for cooking breakfast to us and let us have a good memory for City Roma.

It is close to metro station originally. Unfortunately, the station is closed for repair and maintenance. So I've to take tram at Central Station to B&B with 10 mins ride. Breakfast with coffee, juice, milk with bread is nice.

This was my first trip to Rome and it helped that I had a wonderful place to come back to by the end of the day. Valerio was absolutely wonderful and the room and community area was so cozy. Sadly, our metro stop was closed for renovations, but it is literally right around the corner. There are two others about a ten minute walk away. If you're used to these "walking" cities like Rome and Paris, ten minutes is nothing. I definitely recommend this b&b for its coziness and hospitality.

We stayed at this b&b during April. when we got to the place there was no one there to meet us. we had to call from a nearby hotel and remind the host we are coming. close by there is a metro station but it was under construction, which was inconvenient. the room was very pleasant, apart from some construction noise from the adjacent building in the morning. the place has a computer connected to the internet which was very convenient. on our last day we had to leave very early in the morning. we asked the host to call arange for a taxi to wait for us (the taxi was a nice black lauxury car, and a well dressed driver). while we stayed in this place we didn't wait for the breakfast to be served, but made our own, using food we bought from a nearby supermarket/ this place is pretty simple compared to it's price and to other b&bs in italy.

When we arrived, there was a problem with our room (no hot water...) so the owner accompanied us to another bed and breakfast which was very noisy (the tram )and not very clean. The next day, we had to move back to the other one which was very good quality in a quiet street. We got a reduce price for the problems. The room is very clean and spacious with tv and a big bathroom. We thought breakfast was too light with no juice and not enough to eat.

This was an excellent place to stay. It's actually a basement apartment which isn't clear on the website. It has 3 rooms - 2 double beds, 1 double + single, and 1 double bed. Everything in it is brand new Ikea, very 'chic' and clean. It also has internet access in the central breakfast room for free. It's in a convenient place for moving around Rome, just 2 Metro stops from the Terminus station. Manzoni station is just at the bottom of the road, but was closed for major refurbishment while we were there which meant a 15m walk to the next Metro stop. Directions to the apartment are rather vague. If you stand outside the Snack Bar on the main intersection between V.Emmanuel Filiberto and V.Manzoni cross the road and go up the street opposite (V. Quintino?) V. Vittorio Amadeo II is 1/2 way up on the left. Valerio the young owner is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit late at 8.30 if you want to get out to beat the queues and we self-served quite a few times. We would recommend it for very good value. Thank you Venere.

I was slightly concerned about booking a room at Double B because of the lack of reviews but I took a chance and am glad I did. Valerio, our host, was waiting outside for us and warmly greeted us. He gave us a map of the city and circled all of the spots worth visiting. He even showed me where good hang out spots for young people were. Another resident staying there expressed that she got head-aches when drinking italian coffee and he offered to buy her decaffinated coffee for the next morning. Staying there is more like staying at an apartment. There are three rooms that share a common area with free internet access and a mini fridge to store your items. You are given three keys, one to the front door of the building, one to the apartment, and one to your room, so you can come and go as you please. Check out is about 11 but when I expressed to him that my group wanted to go out dancing that night he allowed us to check out later the next day. You will only see Valerio twice a day, once in the morning for breakfast and in the evening. He tries to accomodate your needs as much as possible. The beds were firm and comfortable and the bathrooms modern and clean. My group was very impressed with the lodging I booked through venere.com. I will stay here again when I come to Rome.

Exellent place to stay! Location very good in the center of Rome. Colosseum only 10 minutes walking. Underground station 5 minutes walking. Rooms are very beautifull and spacious. All the place is new. Valerio the host is very helpfull and helped us with lots of information and suggests about the city and museums. He was really kind. On our last day he took us by his car to the station. Definitely i will go back to DOUBLE BED.
