Hotel Reviews Daphne Trevi

France, Mar 2009
The hotel is very well located, but in a rather dark street. The street is quiet, but the rooms on the same floor as the breakfast room are not so well isolated (you hear doors banging and people in the corridor). The room's design is nice, but the it is quite small and having no radio or no TV for the price paid is a bit akward in the 21st century... Overall, some positives and some negatives...

Nice and cosy, clean and comfortable B&B. Good location for visiting Rome and shopping. Quiet and welcoming, even getting a breakfast to go when left early morning. Would certainly recommend.

Daphne Trevi provides wonderful service both before and during your stay. They helped us set up tours and make resturant recommendations and reservations. We stayed for 3 nights and when they found out it was my husband's birthday they surprised us with a bottle of wine. Just a couple of things to note - the beds were a bit hard and if you're a late sleeper, then you don't want one of the rooms on the same floor as the breakfast room.

The staff was exceptional. They thought of everything upon our arrival to help us adjust and function our first time to Italy. That was much appreciated..as we were quite disoriented. The breakfast is delicious and the espressos wonderful..a perfect start to a day of adventure in the Eternal City. Internet access made available was very handy in the common room..Just as when we arrived the staff was available to us throughout all the way to the end of our stay. So kind.

I chose Daphne after reading reviews and they did not disappoint. We chose to have driver from airport because of late arrival but would have been very easy to take bus/metro which we did on our return. The staff went beyond the realms of helpfulness! We walked everywhere except for Tivoli / Villa D'Este (public transport) and the staff had endless advice on restaurants. Having thrown a coin or 2 in THE fountain I will definately stay at Daphne again.

Excellent location, and exceptional vfm. Nice rooms (though some noise was audible from adjoining rooms and above), charming staff and excellent communication.

The hotel staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful, but the rooms are tiny and the stairs to the third floor are a chore.

Our experience was just delightful, from the time we walked in the door and were greeted with such friendliness. Sandra sat right down with us and went over the map to get us started in the right direction, and from then on it was wonderful. Mimi was terrific making reservations for us for museums and dinners. All the suggestions of the staff were excellent and consequently we never had a bad meal in Rome, or an overly expensive one. The breakfast was varied and more than one would expect. The room was spacious, spotless, quiet, and very attractive. I really cannot find any fault with the Daphne or the staff there and would be excited to go straight back there again. Highly recommended! Also, the location is perfect.

The staff went out of the way to make sure we had a good time in Rome. They pointed us to excellent establishments the locals used within our price range. Helped work out the days itineraries. Pointed out places to see or try. Made reservations for us at various venues. They were just out and out helpful! The location was perfect. We walked to everything or took the Metro. We will be staying here next time we are in Rome. I highly recommend it.

This was a great place to stay. The staff were great and very welcoming. Of all the places that we stayed in Europe, the Daphne Inn was the best place of all. We can't say enough about this place. Breakfest was great, location was super. The staff went out of there way to assist us on our stay with all kinds of arrangements. We can not say how much helpful they were. We would definetly return to this place on our next trip. This place is well worth reccomending. Once again, Daphne Inn, thanks for all you have done for our unforgetable stay.

The main problem was that the bath/toilet facilities were very inadaquate for the number of people sharing(ie the had three room, about 8 people using one toilet) I had thought that our one room for the four people, which was quite comfortable for the one night, had its own bath) Under the circumstance, for the 160 euro price, we could have stayed in a small hotel with 2 rooms and bath for about the same money. Also no public sitting area or ability to have anything to drink. Next time we will select a small hotel. I will say that your service an web site is excellent an really helps in the selection process.

My father, sister and I recently stayed in this pleasant centrally located B& B. The room was spacious and everything was very clean and pleasant. The breakfasts were great - ample and fresh and the Cafe Latte's excellent. All the sights are a short walk/underground ride away. The best part however was our hostess Sandra! She was incredibly helpful and really helped us plan our 3 days in Roma!! The English speaking tour company she recommended was great and the suggested restaraunts and shopping spots were very good too. The only drawback was the noise level from the street - we had to leave our window open because the airconditioning unit in our room didn't work so we had a bit of difficulty getting to sleep. Overall though, I cant say enough good things about the Daphne Trevi - it was excellent. Thank you Sandra!

We decided to stay at the Daphne based on the warm hospitality as described on this website. We were not disappointed. Stephanie and Sandra were fantastic in providing advice for our timee in Rome. On arrival we were greeted before going over the location of the "best restaurants and ice cream in Rome". The advice on avoiding queues was particularly helpful. I would recommend the Trevi to anyone who would like some help for their first trip to Rome. Aside from this, breakfast was great, the room clean and comfortable. The only complaint would be the noise. The window looks out directly to other apartments with balconies whose residents could, at times be a little rowdy. However I would not let this put me off staying at the Trevi on any subsquent visits to the city.

Our stay at Daphne B and B was very enjoyable. The rooms were very clean with new contemporary furniture and our room had a lovely shower room. The buffet breakfast was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. The best thing about the B and B is the location round the corner from Piazza Barberini, the Metro and the Palazzo Barberini. It was really easy to get around by bus, metro and on foot. An ideal B and B for anyone wishing to visit the historic centre of Rome. It also felt very safe and secure - with good locks on all the doors and a safe in the bedroom. I'd definitely recommend it.

Overall very good place, location and service. Only between our two rooms (parents and childeren) and the bathroom, was the location of the office. That was not mentioned before and was sometimes in the morning noisy. Thus ask were the rooms are located before you book.

Wow! They even lend you a cellphone to use during your stay! With all of the staffs' phone numbers programmed into it in case of an emergency (which we only had to use once, and thank heavens we had the phone!)! They greet you with tea and maps. They'll assist you with ordering train tickets, planning your itinerary and making restaurant reservations. They have computers at their reservation office (on the other side of the piazza) where you can use the internet. The common areas are a bit small, but bedroom size is adequate and beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is abundant with rolls, croissants, fresh fruit, and yogurt. Clean, sleek and modern. Very convenient location just a half-block from Piazza Barberini. Can't heap enough praise on the staff (particularly Sandra) and the owner -- truly top-notch.

The staff, including the owners, at the Daphne could not have been more friendly, helpful, and warm. They gave us advice for good, non-touristy restaurants and for information on sites; they made reservations for us and packed breakfast to take along if we were not there for it. Our rooms were lovely, and exactly as described. The location is perfect (we stayed at the Daphne Veneto.) Altogether, our stay was wonderful.

I was one of the "misfortunate" that was pickpocketed immediately after arrival in Rome and the staff at the Daphne , in particular Sandra, were so incredibly helpful in helping us get credit cards cancelled, helping arrange the delivery of the new cards, helping with arranging tours, and just about anything else we needed. I have been to Europe several times and always stay at B & B's and this one was the absolute best I have ever stayed at! I would very much love to return there again in the future.

We can't say enough wonderful things about the Daphne Trevi and its warm, welcoming and hard-working staff. We feel like we found such a treasure and encourage anyone looking for excellent accomodations in Rome at a very fair price to look no further. The location was perfect - we walked everywhere - to the Colusseum, the Palatine, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon - everything was so convenient. Breakfasts each morning in the common area were delicious! And our room was lovely - beautiful hardwood floors, soft comforter on the bed, everything was extremely clean and comfortable and looked brand new. But the best of all were the staff - especially Sandra, who recommended best local restaurants, ice cream shops and coffee shops, plus things to do in Rome that many first-time visitors would miss. She also sat down with us after we arrived to help us map out our short two-day stay - she told us about how to avoid lines at the Colosseum, where to find quaint neighborhoods that had amazing restaurants and wonderful shops, etc. Learning we were motorcycle enthusiasts, she even found out there was a Moto Guzzi exhibit at the capitol building we would have never found on our own. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. We will always come back to the Daphne Trevi - our only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer. It's an excellent value and a warm, welcoming place to come home to. After searching this and other sites, and especially after staying there, we really feel like the Daphne is a rare treasure in Rome. We loved our stay so much & can't wait for our next visit. :)

When we arrived we were very kindly asked to change to an other hotel. We accepted as this accomodation is situated just next door. We found out, that it was excellent, our ratings refer therefore to that hotel (same price)and circumstances. Very friendly nd usefull hints as well as the welcome service were nevertheless offerd from Daphne Trevi. We will surely recommend that accomodation to friends!

Some rooms are at different locations (several blocks away)...so you have to go to the main location for breakfast and other amenities. Staff is nice and friendly. Cheery environment. Well decorated and clean rooms. Good location. Free internet access and helpful/knowledgable staff in planning tourist or other activites.

We had a WONDERFUL stay at the Daphne and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place that is affordable, in a prime location (we were able to walk home from the Vatican, to the central train station, and throughout Old Rome). The greeting we received was phenomenal - Stephanie met us and provided a map with great directions of things that we could see and must see while we were there. The breakfasts were also great, and there is free Internet! Can't say enough good things :)

Daphne B&B was a wonderful experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Alessandro and his staff were wonderful, helpful and very welcoming. Our room was newly renovated, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. There were four of us, my husband, me and our two teenage daughters in one room. The ensuite bath was very large. Breakfast was delicious. We loved the location, very close to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, in a very nice area. The staff was so helpful with dinner reservations, tips and sightseeing suggestions. We will definitely go back the next time we're in Rome.

The owners of the Daphne, Elyssa and Alessandro, were very friendly and made our stay at the Daphne a good one. Elyssa (from the US) was especially helpful with tourist tips and advice. Our room was fairly small but very clean and offered a great air conditioner - Rome was having a heat wave- and comfortable bed. Breakfast, served a block away in the Daphne II, was great with pastries, fruit, cereal, yogurt, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Daphne and would love to stay there again.

This was my first stay at a B&B. My experience far surpassed my expectations. Elyssa and Alessandro are superb hosts, so knowledgeable and make themselves so available. The deciding factor responsible for my choice of the Daphne was that they are 100% smoke free. I have recommended the Daphne to all my friends. Truly a wonderful place to call home while in Rome.

The room we had was exceptional in space, decoration and cleanliness. The shared bathroom was kept very clean. Our host, Elyssa spent over half an hour on our arrival suggesting how we may get the best out of our three night stay in Rome which I'm glad to say we followed. The location is on the second floor, on a narrow cobbled street, 5 minutes from Spanish Steps, 5 minutes from Trevi fountain, 2 minutes to metro station. It is a a quiet retreat after a days sightseeing. The breakfast which was a good continental ( fresh juice, coffee and pastries etc) was served in another building as the breakfast room was closed while we were there. However, Daphne is an excellent B&B which I would be very quick to return to. A real find. PS : If you go the restaurant (? name) 'Piscopiano' - left out of building after 30 yards or so on the left is a real treat for hearty Roman food and local atmosphere.
