Stayed for 4 days in July 2011 with wife and 2 sons (16 & 14). Danilo and his father are excellent hosts and make you very welcome. Room is a bit tight for 4, double and bunk bed. Shared bathroom with other rooms but didn't pose a problem. Given prices in Rome, not bad value but feel the price might be dropped when there are 4 in room. British Open was on while there and was made welcome to watch it on the tv, especially with Irish winner! Breakfast good. Kitchen and bathroom very clean. Can be a bit tricky to find apartment, so check google maps so you know the exact door to enter by. Great location for Rome sights and you can walk everywhere. Also good side of city for eating out reasonably. Overall would certainly return and would gladly recommend to others.

Danilo Bed & Breakfast really exceeded our expectations. All rooms were recently completely renovated, so it was actually even nicer than it looked in the pictures! The location of this B&B was perfect in the Trastevere area where you were very close to nice restaurants in the evening and was able to walk to the most central parts of Rome on the day.

This was a perfect place to stay. Trastevere is a great neighbourhood, easy access to everything without being in a touristy place. The food is great and cheaper than in other areas - you are staying with the locals, and living the real Roma experience. I would book at Danilo's again in a heartbeat. Danilo's father was taking care of the place while I was there and he was extrremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and public transport questions. LOVED IT.

B&B Danilo was a great choice. It is literally around the corner from the historical center. Trastevere is a beautiful area to walk, eat, shop, and so on. We will definitely be back. Andrea was funny, helpful, kind....always ready to answer any questions. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect quality and price and location and atmosphere match. Heartbreaking nice stay! Danilo's father made our days with excellent communication and sense of humour. No noise outside, no noise inside - order in the house was kept that at the end all guests would be happy. Perfect location to reach the best areas of Roma - Trastevere. Our little child was very welcomed. We would come back here.

Andrea and Danilo were very friendly and helpful hosts. The room was air-conditioned, had internet access, and very clean. Though a little tricky to find initially, the location is very good. We were very happy with our stay.

I really would recommend this B&B. When we arrived Danilo gave us a run down of all the sites to see the best local pizza, pasta and gelato restaurants. That type of information was very valuable during our stay and really made the difference. Having good local knowledge is priceless. They were very welcoming, friendly and easy to please. Continental breakfast was adequate and had some variety which was good. Also each room went onto a balcony which was a really nice touch. My only minor gripe was the the mattress was a little soft but that wasn't a big deal. It was also a bit noisy in the morning but was fine if we closed the patio door. They had air conditioning as well so heat wasnt a problem Overall would highly recommend this place

Danilo was the perfect B&B for our stay in Rome. We really just needed a clean and comfortable room to sleep in between days out sight seeing. The room was very reasonably priced for this purpose and the staff were exceedingly friendly and welcoming. All spoke English. Breakfast provided was fresh fruit, juice, coffee/tea, bread and jam, croissants. My only negative criticism would be that the bed could have been softer. Thank you Danilo. You will be recommended to friends/family...

I would stay again at the B & B Danilo. Although the B & B is a modest affair-decor and age of building referencing-they feature great service, clean and quiet rooms (building renos aside), decent breakfasts with an amenable host adding the morning flair, situated in a fantastic area (Trastevere region is incredible for dining and walking around at night). B & B Danilo is walkable to all the major tourist landmarks without all the noise and density that visitors bring. The bonus was having a well known clothing chain store and a national food store within meters outside the entrance. But you never noticed it because of all the other sidewalk activities. A working class neighbourhood-I felt we were exposed to the non-tourist Rome!

Danilo was a charming host. He gave us good advice on places to eat, things to see and how to get from Trastevere to places of interest in other parts of Rome. It was a convenient, comfortable and affordable place to stay, it is not luxurious but I would not hesitate to stay there again if I return to Rome. Breakfast was simple, just your basic juice, toasts, tea and coffee but Danilo make a great espresso and there are loads of reasonable bars nearby if you feel like something more substantial. Public transport is right outside the building and for our return to the airport, it was very easy to take our suitcases on the tram. It was just a short 1 euro trip direct to Trastevere railway station where we caught the train to Fiumicino. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in B&B Danilo and Trastevere.

Nice b&b, relaxed youg staff, special to stay in an apartment among 'normal citizens'. Kids liked the small elevator a lot. Beds were very ok. Trastevere good place to go to places by foot and also close to tram 3 and 8. We liked the walk up through Via Glorioso (?) to beautiful view. Also nice museum of modern art Maxxi - not in Trastevere - (took some time to get there by bus, but worth it while).

Hello, The location is fantastic! Right in the middle of Trastevere! Danilo and his mother are very friendly and helpful people. The breakfast was basic, but still ok. Rooms are nice, big and very clean! We recommend it to everybody! We enjoyed are 5 nights in Rome a lot! And if you come from the airport, you get off in Trastevere railwaystation and then you have to walk for about 2 km. Or take tram 8. Good connections.

This place was great! Cute location in Trastevere- easily walkable to all major sites (if you're a walker usually). Only took a cab to Vatican because we were running late for our pre-reserved tour at 9am. The room is pretty bare (we had the double w private bath) and I could suggest bringing an alarm clock since there was none in the room. There was however, a hair dryer, which was a nice touch. Andrea is Danilo's father and he greeted us and served breakfast while we were there. You have to like b&bs to stay at this place because there is no anonymity- Andrea was there every single time we came in and out, with a kind word or a sarcastic comment about my husband's difficulty with the keys. For better or worse- it was clean, quiet, and there was hot water, and at that location it was a great fit for us.

Very good quality price. Welcoming and friendly italian staff giving reliable information about what to see in Rome and the good restaurants, it is like a familiy business, like staying in a typical roman appartment, and trastevere is a nice neighbourhood where roman go, it is not that touristic. We will not forget Andre and Danilo after our trip !

This is an excellent value for Trastevere, but the real treat of staying here was the kindness and warmth of Danilo and his family. They were as helpful as could be with recommendations of places to eat, etc.; encouraging of my weak Italian; and generous to a fault with both our 7-year-old son and our elderly mother. They are the ideal hosts. We'll definitely be back next time we come to Rome.

The only reason I didn't rate excellent on everything is because we got a room that was on the interior side of the building - and our window opened to the parking lot where at around 6/7:00 am, the grocery store deliveries came and it was super loud! We got earplugs for the third night, and it was a TON better! Make sure you bring earplugs incase you get one of these rooms. Regarding everything else - we had an amazing time at Danilo! The location was SO perfect! Its especially good for younger couples who want to be in a more young/cool area. You are so close to some of the best restaurants in Rome! We didn't cross the river for any meals. For Pizza, try Da Ivo (1 block behind Danilo), Dar Poeta (still in Trastevere...and get the nutella and ricotta calzone!!), and Ai Marmi just up the street on Viale di Trastevere. They are all great and inexpensive. Also, there is a deli right below Danlio, where we got paninis made for us one morning, and took them (& a bottle of wine) to the Borghesi park and had an incredible pic nic! We spent every evening walking through the maze of streets in Trastevere - you really feel like you get to experience the Rome that the Romans live in. The hotel was perfect for budget travelers (like us). Even sharing a bathroom was no big deal when you keep in mind that you are saving a lot of $$. We brought our own sheets to use just incase, but we didn't need to - theirs were very clean. The rooms were totally large enough. We always felt safe leaving our things in the room. Anyone who tells you Rome is unsafe is nuts - and we felt really safe coming to and from Danilo at any hour. In the mornings, the wonderful owner(s) make great cappuccinos for you, and you are provided just enough breakfast (cereal, croissants, breads, jams, nutella, etc) to hold you over until a yummy Roman lunch. Breakfast is with the others staying there, so you get to meet some fun travelers. The owner(s) were so helpful and accommodat

Very nice hotel, great location if you are looking to stay in a more "local" area. The hotel was just as described, and we found the rooms to be very spacious, especially for Europe. We would definitely stay here again. We walked to all of the major tourist sites, including the Colosseum (20 min walk) and the Vatican (40 min walk). Trastevere was a great place to explore as well - highly recommend.

A very good place to enjoy Roma : it's in Trastevere, the most pleasant area to go out for diner or for drink. The room (we booked the room with private bathroom) is very confortable (good bed, bathroom), and quiet (overlooks a small courtyard), breakfast is simple but good too. Danilo is very kind and provide us with advice to enjoy our stay.

Very good option for a stay in the Trastevere. Andrea and Cristina are extremely nice and welcoming, and the rooms are clean and spacious. The location is just perfect: just off Trastevere main piazzas, close to the Trastevere train station and neighbouring a supermarket, an enoteca and many restaurants and bars. Definitely would stay there again.

Andrei and his wife attended us very well. A very pleasant person who also can leave you at yourself. Rooms were clean, quiet and spacious for a very good price considering the location in Rome. Trastevere is one of the most pleasant places to stay. You walk out the door and are - feel yourself in the middle of Rome with lots of fine terasses an restaurants in your - old and cosy city style - backyard. The place is very well located to discover the rest of Rome, we did it all walking.

8th time in Rome (I've stayed both in hotels and in other BBs). This is affordable place with good location - accomodation in Trastevere tends to be quite expensive. Atmosphere is relaxed, but walls are thin! It was quiet during our stay because the owners try to keep it that way but it's really up to other guests. Owners speak good english and are very helpful. Breakfast is the usual... Note that the building is on the big street (Viale di Trastevere) and it's not one of those old and small ones typical to Trastevere (tourist)area.

B&B Danilo is situated near the heart of Trastevere, at 5-10 minutes in Tramway of the "Centro Storico" : from here, one can reach Pantheon in 20 minutes, Colosseum in 25 minutes, or Saint-Peter's and the Vatican in 30 minutes. Our room was quite large, very clean and the surroundings were as quiet as it can be wished. Danilo and his family were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was great, with everything one can need before beginning his trips of the day in Rome. We recommend you B&B Danilo !

B & B Danilo was a great location, very central for Trastevere, very welcoming, friendly hosts. Room was exceptionally spacious for Rome - a good value. Breakfast was above average for Italy with freshly made expresso and cappuchinos - Thanks especially to Maria Grazia for that and her kind helpfulness in answering some questions at breakfast. Would reccommend Pizzeria al Francesco around the corner on Via Francesco de la Ripa and also both restaurants on Via Scala (same names as the street) - Also, don't miss Santa Maria di Trastevere Church and piazza and go up into the Gianicolo park for wonderful views of Rome...

Room/shower very clean; bed good; calm; room is spacey for Roman standards; owner extremely friendly & helpful.- Area is close to the city of Rome (10 min walk); public transport in every needed direction... even to the beaches in Ostia takes less than 1 hour. This quarter is (not a tourist attraction but) an area where Italians live or go dining... (more than) lots of restaurants. You won't find a place nearer to the city with this all comfort for such a price.

Really enjoyed our stay. Trastevere is a great location to stay if you want to be off the tourist track. From the hotel we could catch public transit to the major sites in a few minutes or walk to great dining and bars. The room was large simple and pleasant. Noise was a bit of an issue--nice that the room faced the back of the building to avoid noise from the busy street out front, but plenty of noise from neighbouring apartments--some construction, a little girls birthday party, a parrot (?) that made a racket every morning. Most of this could be blocked out by running the AC unit (which worked great btw). None of this caused me any serious annoyance, actually gave a pretty accurate idea of what it would be like to really live in a big, old, densely populated city like Rome. If you want perfect quiet and privacy stay in one of the big chain hotels, but your not going to find it at this price. Shared bath was newly reno'd and very clean, only the water temp in shower varied wildly. Breakfast was the usual packaged pastries, but offered a nice chance to chat with the mom and son team (who both speak english) that run the place. They were very sweet and welcoming. However it was a bit confusing to find the B&B in the apartment building (after being buzzed in the main gate walk up to the second floor, look for staircase B in the back left corner and buzz again) Over all a functional, comfortable, well located place to stay when visiting Rome on a budget.

Friendly and helpful people. An excellent stay! The only complaint is the noisy birds outside in the morning (crows and seagulls). I recommend this B&B to anyone, even with the bathroom outside the room. Two flights of stairs aren't bad, but they might deter older travelers. Location is ideal - in the middle of Trastevere - and easily accessible from the airport via train and tram.

1- the pictures of the place in your own site were opposite of the b&b it self. you must change the photos or reduce the prices or completely cancel this b&b . 2- Despite we especially told we requested a room with a bathroom inside, we never found such a room. So we had to left there the day after. We had a "hotel" from an internet coffee on another hotel reservation system and moved there and it was very comfortable and the price was the same as the first b&b "room". Venere system must be consider in these appointments. Yours Sincerely.

We found Danilo to be a clean place with large rooms, and well located for walking or public transit. Being in Trastevere in the evenings meant we were never short of interesting places to eat. Staff were friendly, accomodating, and helpful. Like most Italian B & B's, breakfast was meagre, however visitors are encouraged to use the full kitchen to make their own breakfast or dinner. The only downside was sharing the shower between 6 guests, however with a little courtesy and planning this was not a problem. We would definitely stay here again and have no qualms about recommending it to others.
