A Casa a Testaccio is perfect for families with children, a group of friends, or two couples travelling together who are looking for a delightful and relaxing stay in the heart of Rome. The B&B is located in the very central area of Testaccio. It is well connected by Metro (200 meters from the Piramide station off of the B line), by bus (30 meters from a major bus stop), and to the Ciampino and Fiumicino/Leonardo DaVinci airports (300 meters from the Air Terminal Ostiense). All of the archaeological, artistic, monumental, and historic highlights of Rome are just a few minutes away, some on foot (the Coliseum, Roman Forum, Circus Maximus, etc.). Testaccio is a lively and trendy area with a great variety of restaurants, traditional Roman trattorias and pizzerias, cafès, pubs, shops, and open air markets, including the very famous Sunday flea market Porta Portese. The apartment is in an elevator building, fully renovated, quiet, and bright with panoramic views from the fourth floor.

Quiet, nice area of Rome close to transportation/sites. Owner welcoming when we arrived, did not see him after that. No breakfast included. He offered access to his kitchen(he has rooms there)which was not super clean, as you might expect of a man living alone. But the rooms and bath were clean, cool and comfortable for the price.

First time in Rome,my sister and i stayed here and found it great value for money, within walking distance to main attractions and very easy to get around when you suss out public transport. The B&B was very nice, good comfy double room with large balcony, shared bathroom was kept clean and you were able to use kitchen if required. The owner lives in the house, but we very rarely saw him..all in all had a wonderful time in Rome, but would have been nice to have a tv in room..not everyone wants to spend every evening out, especially after a hard day stomping the cobbles of this lovely city..

Everything was great! Very convenient - accommodation in the quiet center of Rome, in an apartment near the Coliseum and the Cathedral of St. Paul, across a supermarket where you can buy various Italian dishes and have a breakfast and lunch at the home . The room has air conditioning, a bathroom for 2 rooms, but we have not met with the neighbors. A feeling that you live in an apartment with friends. Me and my mom loved it!

We absolutely loved staying in the non-touristy area of Rome with amazing restaurants just a few blocks away. Our host was very friendly, generous and helpful. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. There was a spacious balcony with seating outside and a kitchen we could use, which was very nice. The only thing I would mention is that it is advertising as a Bed and Breakfast, so with no breakfast, it is a bit misleading, but our host told us that far in advance. There were plenty of great places for coffee and pasty within a block.

Gianlorennzo was a very welcoming and helpful host. The appartment, with en-suite, was spotlessly clean, bright and quiet. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants nearby and the metro and other transport are close by. The Colosseum is only a 20 minute walk away.

Very clean and spacious, and a wonderfully bright and attractive apartment on the fourth floor of a typical Roman block (for this area). The area is delightful, and very safe, and allows one to use the local rail service from Fiumicino (rather than the more expensive Leonardo express) - a bonus! Breakfasts are not provided, and this was made clear in a confirming email, but there are lots of food shops around for buying provisions of a delectable sort (including some excellent bakeries), and there are plenty of caffes. One can walk to the Centro Storico in about 30 minutes, but there are also many many good bus routes connecting this area to the city centre proper, and being located a little out of the hurly burly is very soothing after a long-day sightseeing! For part of my 4-night stay there was a family in the other of the two guest-rooms, and this did make for some ‘family’ noise (kids make noise...), but nothing overly problematic. The clean, and (for Rome) roomy bathroom is shared between the 2 guest-rooms, and I suppose that if one was a group composed of two couples, the set-up would be ideal. Nevertheless, as a single traveller I was very happy with my experience. All in all, a good value and comfortable stay, in an excellent location.

Good location, walking distance to the center of Rome (20-25 min.), underground and train station near by. Nice rooms for a good price. The owner of the apartment was nice and helpful. The only thing that was not indicated was that the owner is living in the same apartment although this was not a problem for us.

Exellent place to stay if you want to discover Rome by yourself. We travelled as a group of 4, two couples, so we booked the entire place. Lorenzo, the host, was very welcoming and pointed us to all the best sights in the neighbourhood. Was always there when needed. Overall we enyojed our stay very much and should we visit Rome again we'll defenetly be staying at Lorenzos A Casa a Testaccio.

The b&b is in a flat in an apartment building a short walk from the metro. Easy to get to/from the city centre and airport! It's not too far to walk to the city centre, and there are some charming areas to see on the way, but we wouldn't recommend walking every day. The neighborhood is cosy with restaurants and cafés. A bit misleading information: Breakfast, we were told by mail a few days before arrival, was not included after all. Another review here about "the big breakfast" was what tipped the scale when we decided booking the place. The kitchen was available for us though. The balcony was indeed big and enjoyable in the sun, but we would hardly call the view scenic. You can also hear the other guests easily through the walls. Quite a nice place, we enjoyed staying here.

Even though the "innkeeper" was quite young and nice, it lacked character...and you could hear every noise from the bathroom in between the rooms, so be sure you know the people you share it with! I didn't find the location all that wonderful and felt like we may not be very welcome by the other tenants of our host's apt.

If you are looking to stay somewhere other than a hotel, check out this place. Lorenzo has accommodated travellers in his three-bedroom apartment for the last three years. His hospitality was excellent and he prides himself on his big breakfasts. You will be treated like kings! He also has local knowledge of Rome and can recommend some great places to eat. The area is really convenient and only a five minute stroll to the metro station. From there, you can get to anywhere. Thank you!
