We really appreciated the staff's helpfulness and friendliness. They made our stay in Rome even more special. Really close to Termini and walking distance to Coleseum. The breakfast was really nice and very plentiful. An all round friendly atmosphere.

On my way from Siena to Rome by bus I fell and hurt my wrist. On arrival in Rome at Laasa di Amy I was quite distressed. The young lady, Simona, in reception immediately called the owner who promptly drove me to the hospital and stayed with me to organise for an English speaking attendant and an English speaking Doctor to look after me. It was subsequently found that I had a serious double break of my wrist. When I returned to La Casa di Amy after having my wrist set and plastered the staff continued to help me for the rest of my stay way beyond their obligations and way beyond my expectations. I really don't know how I would have maqnaged without them. My sincere thanks and gratefulness goes to Luisa, Simona and Voileta. Apart from this, the accommodation, decor and cleanliness were excellent and I would definately recommend them.

The hotel is located at a very convenient place, only 3-5 min walking distance from Termine Station, where you can find a lot of places to have an excelent dinner with a reasonable price. Services were good; especially we were pleased at the air conditioner and the water tank located at the dining room.

This place is central and elegantly furnished. When I missed my flight after my stay, the owners even helped me find another B&B in the building (because they no longer had any vacancy for me). Highly recommended.

The staff were friendly and most helpful especially Maria, a Romanian lady who kept my luggage in her own room for me while I went on a 5 dy.coach tour.My room was clean, everything matched and was comfortable, even had kettle and tea bags on the table.B'fast was good. Highly recommend it as location is excellent for Stazione Termine in Rome and public transit to sightseeing places.

Great location, 2 blocks from the railway station and metro. Very friendly and helpful stuff. I came 1 day after my initial reservation, 30 min after breakfast. They couldn't provide me some snack, while the kitchen was just there in the apartment. I told to the nice, friendly lady that I had traveled from 4 a.m. by that time. The next day I was leaving earlier than the breakfast time and they told me sandwiches would be in the room. I had a liter of milk and yogurt left on a table, out of the fridge. the temperature there was 31C. there were no promised sandwiches. I think the manner to serve breakfast in the room is a little weird, while the nice kitchen is in the apartment. Anyway, that was a little negative moment, not very important. The place is great, the owner, Simona the lady at the reception, are really wonderful, friendly people. I totally recommend the B&B to everyone and will stay there again

We felt very welcomed when we arrived and Amy (I believe that was her name?) took time to take us to our room and show us the room and the kitchen. It was very convenient location as well. It's not the nicest area in town, but we felt she made it as comfortable as possible for travelers. It was nice the apartment had an elevator too. We saw some people who also lived in the same building but they seem all nice and polite too, so it was very nice :) Thank you!

This bed and breakfast was very clean and very convenient to the train/metro transportation, allowing us to see Rome easily. The beds were comfortable and the a/c was welcomed after a hot day of seeing the sights. Breakfast was more than expected. Another plus was the lift -- with our heavy suitcases it was a blessing. Also, they helped schedule us a taxi to the airport to catch our 6 am flight. All-in-all, it was a very good choice for us and fit our budget well.

La Casa di Amy is an excellent location in Rome for people, who doesn't especially wish a luxury hotel. It is located in a old house near the Railway Station Roma Termini, what was very comfortable for us. The rooms were big (except the bathrooms, but it had all we needed), clean, with lovely details. The employees were very helpful and friendly and in the pretty (not too big) kitchen we got a various, rich breakfast. We were very pleased to stay in the Casa di Amy and can only recommend it!

My husband and I were very pleased with our stay at Casa di Amy. From the initial warm welcome to the personalized attention we received throughout our short stay, we felt like we were staying with long-time friends. Casa di Amy is very close to Termini, so it makes getting to/from the railway station very easy (a good base from which to do some exploring). That said, it's on a quiet side street, so you don't get street noise. The rooms are admittedly small, but this is Europe, so we weren't expecting McMansion sized rooms. Further, the price cannot be beaten given the cleanliness, location, and service. And the breakfast was satisfying and generous. Overall, a lovely stay at the Casa di Amy, and we would DEFINITELY stay there again if we are ever back in Rome.

My wife and I stayed at La Casa di Amy during a four day vacation in the Rome area. The room was simple, but clean and adequate. Breakfast was provided in a cute, quaint setting. But it was the service provided by Simona at the front desk that made this such a pleasant stay. She assisted in our accommodations and patiently handled our many questions. Our sincerest thanks to her for guidance and helping to making this a wonderful stay.

I have stayed here 3 previous times and this was the smallest, cramped room of my 4 stays. As well, the TV was an older model without a remote and poor reception. Poor lighting for reading. The hairdryer supplied did not fit the outlet in the bathroom and the only mirror was in the bathroom. Previous stays I was on the same floor as where breakfast was served and the rooms were more spacious with plasma TVs. This stay was on the floor below.

Really needs WIFI throughout hotel. They switched me to another room mid-stay, which was kind of annoying. Breakfast has good variety but not good quality, and isn't as super as I'd read. The area is not bad at all, especially if you're only in town a couple days anyway. Metro is right nearby, and you can walk anywhere too.

Staff was very friendly, breakfast was excellent. Room was clean and sized nicely. The walls are paper thin and we had a family who lives in the same building next to our room. You could hear everything that was going on, it didn't bother us much but it might someone who is a light sleeper. Location is great, couple blocks from the Termini train station for easy access to airport train, but also relatively close to the heart of Rome. The area appeared safe and we did not run into any issues during our 3 night stay. I would recommend this B&B to anyone, it's a great value for the price.

La Casa di Amy is an OASIS in that desert of pricey, substandard hotels known as Rome! I travel in Italy a lot. Decorated in a tasteful, fresh way with a beautiful breakfast room and wonderful staff -- for the price, you will not find a better place to stay in Rome. The B&B is very close to the train station and in an immigrant neighbourhood, hence my rating of 7 for hotel surroundings -- but if you want the convenience of the station you must accept the fact that the area will be like that. I had an interior room that was very quiet considering the area. If you have a room on the street you have to figure there will be noise. NOTE: The photos actually do not do the place justice. It is absolutely lovely. I was so impressed I must say I am baffled by negative reviews and encourage the reader to attribute them to travel-weariness or ignorance/unrealistic expectations.

The room was very small, and the bathroom was built inside the room. There was a coffe pot with a variety of teas and coffes. Breakfast was excellent. The BB was very well located, a few blocks from the central station. The area is safe and has many restaurants. This is a place just for one night, because there was no room to keep clothes or to put luggage if you have many pieces.

The staff was wonderful, helpful and very friendly. The only downside was that the rooms do not have telephones. The location is within a 5 minute walk to Termini station, buses, grocery stores and restaurants. There is a wonderful restaurant across the street that I highly recommend by the name of Cencio or something like that. Ask Simona, the manager, for the correct name, but all you have to do is go across the street. I was given a lovely room, large by European standards, with a sitting area and double bed for a very low price. You can sign on to the internet right in their office, no need to find an internet cafe or pay the fees. The breakfast was very nice and they have a coffemaker and coffee in the room if you need that extra boost first thing in the morning. There is an elevator to take you to the third floor, where the rooms and reception are located.

We Had a bad start at this hotel as the office was not open and we floundered around trying to find the place in the complex it was in. When we did find the correct floor due to language barriers we were a bit at a loss and shown into a room off the kitchen which was so dimly lit you couldnt read in it. But that was minimal compared to the state of the bed! I suffer from a bad back and literally did not get an minutes sleep the whole night. I would have been just as comfortable on the floor! My husband was also terribly uncomfortable. The next morming I was a wreak and lifted the sheets to see what the hell we were sleeping on...only to find that the mattress was literally concertinard as the springs had collapsed and what I thoght was a join up the middle was (I think)springs poking through! Subserquently we asked to be moved or we would be leaving. We were moved to a very nice room with a very comfortable bed and it was very spacious too. However it was by the front entrance and very noisey as inconciderate people arrived during the night talking loudly with little thought of others. (We stayed at a lovely B&B in Lucca that had signs on the doors asking guests to be considerate of others and to shut doors quitely and keep voices down in the hall ways. It worked 100% we never heard a thing!) Ok, the positives were..a good breakfast and it was remarkably clean..Anna does an exceptional job with both those areas. Also easy one block walk to the main Railway Station. It was very cheap for Rome and if your on a tight budget go there. If you can spend 10 to 20 Euro more there are some better alternatives very close by. If you get the bedroom off the kitchen RUN to the nearest exit!!!

We had an excellent stay at La Casa di Amy starting with a very nice and professional welcome. Added to that, I would stress on the quality and choice of the breakfast served. Really, there is nothing negative about this B&B. The location is the station so this is not the best part of Roma (like any other big city) but still extremely convenient to easily access the airport by train. I highly recommend this B&B and would definitely return when visiting Roma next time.

Also the location is very good, you just have to walk 5 minutes and you are near the main station in Roma(termini Station) where you can catch a train or take the underground, (line A : visit of the Colosseo, citta del vaticano, Fontana di Trevi etc). Overall the stay at La Casa di Amy was very satisfying. We arrived early, so we had to wander around before being allowed to check in. The room was located about a block from the watch shop of La Casa di Amy, it was very easy to find, and just a few minutes from Termini. The room was smaller than we thought, but it didn't bother us. There was a fridge, air conditioner, and coffee/tee making facility, all worked very well. Our room was located facing the courtyard and hence it was very quiet. The room was located in an apartment with 4 rooms, and the living room was used as the breakfast room. The breakfast was served rather late, 8-9.30 am. On the day when we had to leave early to the Vatican, breakfast was prepared for us the day before and left in the fridge of our room. The service was good overall, although not perfect. One day after the towels were replaced one towel was forgotten as a result for two nights one of us had no bath towels. The second incident was that we ran out of toilet paper and it was not refilled even though we had left a note there reminding the cleaning staff. The next day we left a much larger note on the bathroom mirror and then only it was refilled. We also mentioned that we were leaving very early on the day of departure, although a packed breakfast was promised for us it was simply forgotten. Other than these minor incidents the stay was overall satisfying, since we also paid the discounted price in August. I'd recommend La Casa di Amy to anyone who wants to be close to Termini, and for those who go to Rome in August who need good air conditioning for a good night sleep!

We were thoroughly satisfied with our stay at the B&B Casa di Amy. We have no idea why other travelers haven't been as happy as we were. Yes, the area is not "perfect", but it is not dangerous and is only two blocks from the metro and train station. Additionally, there is a slew of spicy Mediterranean food to choose from, just steps from the front door of Casa di Amy, should one wish to deviate from the normal Roman cuisine . This is to say nothing about the spectacular service and friendly help we received from the owners and their employees. We will recommend this establishment to any and all of our friends, and we will most certainly stay there again when we return to Rome in the future.

Was delighted find a clean, comfortable and modern room. Was concerned that I faced the main street but had no problem with noise. Very convenient location for train and bus access. Good selection of breakfast items and, while I love cappuccino, I really enjoyed having a "real" cup of coffee with breakfast. (Only criticism: Breakfast should be made available at 7:30 a.m. for those of us who prefer getting an early start to the day.) Friendly and helpful staff. Free internet available in reception office. Great value for the price. Highly recommend.

Absolutely the best place I've stayed in Rome so far! I stayed in a single room which had a double bed and an en suite, tv and fridge, and air conditioning - very appreciated as it was the month of July and it was roasting! The staff were very helpful, as I was going on a tour one of the mornings, I told them that I wouldn't be there for breakfast and they offered to have breakfast put in my room the night before as it all could be refrigerated which was very helpful. The location, less than a two minute walk from the Termini which was very important as I was traveling by myself. Surrounding areas were perfectly fine and I usually came home most evenings by 11pm and never had or saw any trouble. It was great value for money. The room was cleaned every day and I cannot praise this place enough! Also, the restaurant straight across the road - amazing!!

This was our first trip to Europe. Our daughter urged us to see Rome. Her advice was perfect. We were amazed at the beauty and antiquity that we encountered at every turn. You can't go 20 steps in Rome without encountering something of awe inspiring beauty. We were first attracted to La Casa di Amy by the name (our daughters name is Amy). As we researched further we thought that this property was everything we were looking for. We were not disapointed. It is intimate and family operated. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a private bath. The breakfast prepared by Maria was beyond our expectations, varied, nutritous and beautifully presented meal each morning. The service was exceptional. Lilla (the co-ownner or La Casa di Amy) accompanied us to the pharmacy and assisted our communicating with a pharmicist when we required a medication and had drug allergies that needed to be understood. This was just one of several instances in which she went out of her way to make our visit to Rome enjoyable and trouble free.

Unlike reviews that I read before booking this B&B it was very easy to find. A sign has been erected above the shop. We were made to feel very welcome. Maria who stays at the B&B was very helpfull and always willing to go the extra mile. Breakfast was the best we had in Italy. All in all a very enjoyable stay. We will go back there any day.

The breakfast was, as written on the homepage, middle european standard (not italian) and very great. The employee helped us to find a good value restaurant. When we return to Rome we will ask for La Casa di AMY. A room about 100m away from the central station can't be very quiet. Rome is a metropolis, it will never be cheap.

This is an excellent place to stay for anyone who wants to see Rome. Close to Termini station which is the central hub to all your travel needs. The staff in La Casa Di Amy were fantastic and were always on hand to help and provide advice. Breakfast were just what was required for starting out for a sightseeing trip. Will always stay here when we visit Rome.

My friend and I stayed two nights and I would certainly recommend staying at La Casa Di Amy, it was value for money and the rooms were very clean. Booking a single I was given a double bedroom with on suite shower room. For breakfast you could choose from cereal, yoghurt, cheese, meat, coissants, there was bread for sandwich or toast and a platter of vegetables plus other things I can't remember at the moment and to drink coffee/apple juice/milk. As mentioned in previous comments you book in at the shop which is just underneath the rooms, there is a sign so you really can't miss it although it does close between 1.30 pm and 4 pm and is not open on a Sunday. You are minutes from the Termini railway station and just outside that is the bus terminus, the tour buses also stop opposite the Termini and even the coaches back to the airport stop there too, so the location was good. I can't speak Italian and unfortunately the lady who looks after the rooms doesn't speak English but it wasn't a major problem. Also in my room was an alarm clock (although my friend didn't have one in her room) t.v., fridge, towels, small welcome pack with small soap etc and there was a hairdryer. I would certainly go back.

Friendly owners including helpful Jose @ front desk. I requested a double room with 2 single beds but given 1 double bed. Jose requested 2 single beds for 2nd nite but request was ignored, thanks for trying Jose! Would be nice if breakfast starts at 7 rather than 8 am. Thanks for the person who brewed coffee on our day of departure as we had to catch an early flight but we did not have time to enjoy it. Great location near bus terminal and Termini station, tight security inside station.

The manager, who was raised in the US and spoke excellent English, was exceptionally nice and let us use a computer in the reception area to retrieve e-mail. Breakfast was plentiful and served in our room on the day we had to leave early to tour the Vatican. The hotel was only a few blocks from the train and main subway stations. My husband and I heartily recommend this hotel/apartment.

We would definitely stay here again when next in Rome! Jose and Elio welcomed us as if we were old friends and the excellent service and attention continued throughout our stay. Our room and location were perfect. The breakfast was magnificent and we regretted having to miss breakfast a few times because of very early starts. Casa di Amy is a true find!

La casa di Amy was a very nice BandB. It is about a 5 minute walk from the train station which is important if you're hauling luggage as we were. My wife and I stayed there 3 nights and have no complaints other than there is some traffic noise at night, nothing untolerable though. Maria, whom we dealt with most of the time, was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, had a nice variety. Most of the common tourist attractions are probably in the 20 to 30 minute walking range from the hotel. There are many things of interest to see and stumble upon accidently while walking Rome though that walking is what we preferred to do. La casa di Amy was a very nice place overall and we would stay there again.

When I got that right, "La Casa di Amy" has rooms in 4 different buildings. The room I got was one of 4 rooms (+ breakfastroom) the hotel has in flat of a dignified old appartment building. It was an absolutely quiet, secure and cosy place, a perfect background for a very pleasant and inspiring 4-days visit to Rome. Although I had not so much contact to the staff, I found the people very friendly and helpful and I have no doubt, the staff would have given me any support if I needed it. Invaluable, Thanks!

Everything was excellent and people very welcoming and kind. The only problem is to find the place. One does not think about looking at a jewellery store to find a B&B... But this only minor inconvenience.

Excellent accommocations... many complaints about "hard to find" would be explained in that there IS NO OFFICE! Lilla operates out of the Watch store at the address given. The couple who operates this series of rooms operates out of that office, and the only indication of affiliation with "La Casa di Amy" is a single 8.5 by 11 piece of paper taped to the front door! But if they know when you are coming, you'll be ok! This is an excellent deal, but they have about 20 rooms at several locations, all within 2-5 blocks of the Roma Termini rail station. We stayed twice, in two different complexes, and both were excellent, both had excellent breakfast choices, both times all were MOST accomodating. I would recommend it to anybody!

We enjoyed our stay at La Casa di Amy in December 2007 very much - the room, bed, breakfast meals, cleanliness, and service exceeded our expectations. I recommend it in the absolute highest terms. Finding it was easy - it's only a couple of short blocks from the Termini main train station, very convenient, no problem rolling luggage along the sidewalks - which made touring Rome much easier. The Metro subway lines intersect at Termini, so we could reach anyplace in Rome within minutes. We never took a taxi directly back to the B&B, even late at night, but felt very safe and walked from Termini station - there was always foot traffic on the street, and the police were out in force. The room had a small refrigerator, and we often stopped at the small grocery store in the Termini station for food so we could have some meals in our room. The fruit, olives, etc. were so fresh - fantastic and better than 99% of most restaurants. The room was comfortable, and the bathroom was absolutely, perfectly clean (small but adequate) with a small but very nice shower - this was of paramount importance to my fiance, she's very picky, and she was not disappointed. She was so happy when she saw the nice bathroom that it set the tone for the rest of our stay in Rome! (She'll go anywhere if she can get a hot shower and good bed at night). We let the B&B know when we were arriving and were met on the street by someone from the B&B (it is run out of the small jewelry shop next to the entrance door). The breakfast meals were great - the selection of meat and other food items varied daily, and the coffee and oatmeal were great. One morning, we overslept and the cook tapped on our door so we wouldn't miss out - molte grazie! Occasionally, I was able to connect into an unsecured Wi-Fi, but otherwise, many internet cafes are located within one block. We felt well cared for, safe, warm, and happy. This would be our first choice on a return visit to Rome. This B&B gets FIVE stars (o

Very good experience. The place was refurnished summer 2007 so everything was in a perfect state and very, very clean. Don't expect a luxury hotel, but the rooms and bed were of good quality and size, and that's the most important. It's a 5 minutes walk from the Termini station and half an hour from the Colloseum.

We found La Casa di Amy to be a clean, quiet and comfortable B&B. The bed was probably the best of the five we experienced in Italy and there were also two comfortable chairs in the room. The breakfasts were very good and slightly different each day. The staff were very accommodating: for example, although we had to leave at 5:30 AM on our last day, we awoke to find a breakfast laid out for us. Although the Termini neighbourhood may not be Rome's most fashionable, it is very convenient not only for train connections but also bus, metro, tours, etc. and a number of sites are within walking distance. La Casa di Amy met our needs very well.

Sehr angenehmes B&B.

Very convenient location although a bit hard to find without a sign outside. It was only 2 short blocks from train station. Our room was very new and very clean with a very small shower. A downside for us was that we had a room facing the street which was extremely noisy at night. On top of that we were awoken daily by staff either letting us know breakfast was ready/ housekeeping/ and even the owner one day to let us know that they did not accept Amex. That being said our sleep was not so great. I would reccomend requesting a room facing the courtyard. Breakfast consisted of cereals, toast/rolls, cheese, and sometype of deli meat and coffee. All in all this is a fine b&b if you need a clean place to try to sleep. The owners are very nice. Very good value for the money in Rome.

My wife was very concerned about the safety of location of the B&B near the Termini but chose it for convenience of public transportation. She was pleasantly surprised! The location was extremely convenient within easy walking distance of the Termini and connections with the Metro and busses. The neighborhood had several restaurants and seemed safe. Lila, the proprietor, and Maria, met us upon our arrival and escorted us to our accomodations(located in a different building a half block away from the address on the web site). Our rooms were spacious, clean and air conditioned! The only negative aspect was noise when the trash dumpsters across the street from our rooms were emptied every morning at 0600. There was no staff on duty at our location so we were given keys to the building, the apartment as well as our rooms. Also, Lila's phone number, but there was no phone available in the apartment. Maria arrived every morning to prepare a beautiful breakfast and did an excellent job of cleaning our rooms. All staff members were extremely pleasant and helpful. I have recommended this B&B to my friends and would definitely stay there again.

Cute little B&B, location was great, it was extremely close to the metro. Since I had a really early flight it was perfect for me. My room was very good size and nicely decorated. I didn't expect a B&B to have its only monographic toiletries so it was a pleasant surprise. You can tell that they put in effort to make the place professional. The staffs were friendly and welcoming. They even offered me breakfast at 6:30am due to my early flight (although the staff seemed to have forgotten about it the next morning), but it was nice of them to have even offered at the first place. If I ever return to Rome I would rent from them again.

We booked Casa di Amy because it was near the Termini and close to all the sights. We were not disappointed. Okay the area is not the best in Rome but for us it was ideal. A short walk to the bus station where numerous buses took us in any direction we wanted. After being dropped off from the airport in Via Marsala by Terravision we were only a very short walk to the B&B. Breakfast was amazing with cooked meats, cheeses, salad, fruit, cereals, toast, yoghurt, rolls and copious amounts of various teas and coffee. Our room and shower room was spotless and the bed was Oh so comfortable. Lilla and Claudia were extremely helpful and courteous. We loved Rome and the B&B. Would definitely stay there again. And oh what bliss, no TV!!

As a group of 5 young adults, this was a perfect balance between luxury and adventure. Essentially a large multiple room house, each couple booked their own room, while the 5th had her own. The doors are somewhat thin, so in the unlikely event the other renters are on the boisterous side, it might be an issue. However, during our stay, there were three waves of different guests (all from different countries, I should add), all of which were very considerate and seemingly knowledgeable with B & B etiquette. You should have no noise problems from other guests. If you get a room overlooking the courtyard, you will hear people's conversations from neighboring bldgs. The layout essentially creates a huge speakerbox, so even the most muted of whispers can be heard. Try to book a room overlooking the street. Better view. A few posts indicated some disappointment over the breakfast. One should note that their set up is generous by European standards, whose idea of breakfast is generally (1) croissant and (1) cup of coffee OR tea (but not both). A nice spread consisting of salami, proscuitto, fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzerella, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, etc was defintely a great way to start off the day. The pix on their site accurately depicts their offerings. The staff was very accomodating, friendly, and helpful. Some past posts have commented on their lack of English skills, but we had zero issues. As long as you keep the sentences short, to the point, and nix the million-dollar words, you should be fine. Plus, I studied up on my Italian, so that helped, too. If for nothing else, the natives appreciate the effort. In summary, if you are looking for a local-flavored, no-frills, conveniently-located place to stay, this is it.
