The small pizzeria/restaurant in the street san martino ai monti directly after the 'forchetta d'oro' (which we tasted and rejected - ossi buchi with porc intermingled and not from the due piece of the veal) was very nice, good and decently priced.

We rented two rooms from the Carpe Diem, and are going to do it again. We had a great time, and they were very helpful! It is very close to the Metro that takes you right into the city. Great location!

Make sure to indicate your arrival time so that you are greeted and given keys for the room promptly. Very close to the train station but far from the main attractions. The noise at night makes it hard to sleep. There is no central AC, just a ceiling fan so it can get hot.

The B&B has no air conditioning and very noisy. The place is hard to find. We found the building, rang the doorbell but no answer. We could enter the building only when someone walked out. After inside, it was hard to locate the office. Carpe Diem is not AT ALL good for travelers with kids. Beds are not that clean and room has bugs & mosquitos and very noisy. No ensuite bathroom unless you stay in the attic room which is very tight and hard to breath. Not worth to save a few bucks at all. We would definitely not stay here again.

This B&B is centrally located in Rome just a few blocks from Termini Station. The surrounding area was somewhat unusual but I never felt threatened or unsafe. A metro stop is right around the corner. The breakfast available at the Piccolo Bar is nothing special; the real value is the room and the B&B location. My room was on the street side of the building as was quite noisy.

The location was great considering it is 50 m away from the Vittorio Emanuel metro station. The place is great for a low cost stay in Rome, very easy access to the center of Rome. I had a very good stay. Please consider the front rooms are very noisy, if you want quietness you should think about renting the rooms with view in the back of the block. I stayed for 3 nights and I really enjoyed it. Have fun in Rome!

The location is really excellent, it's very central. You'll find many restaurants and pizzerias around, the Terminal station is just a few minutes walk, and you need only 10-15 minutes to the Colosseum. The b&b is located in "Chinatown", the breakfast is offered in a very small bar (1 minute walk). If you have luck you can have your breakfast sitting on a chair (there are only 3 chairs...); it's one cappuccino (or juice) and one croissant. In the b&b there are rooms like ours which show to the street. There is much noise from the traffic. In the b&b there are also more quiet rooms showing to the other side. In one bathroom there came out only little drips of water out of the shower. In the other bathroom there could only two or three people have a shower. After that the water became cold... If there are staying many guests in the b&b you really need patience in case you want to have a shower... The owner is speaking English and he is helpful; sometimes we met only his brother whose English was very poor. Both were very friendly.

Difficult to find. Go down Ratazzi, just as it is indicated on map, but halfway down the road, the name will change to a monument, which is on the right. Continue to walk down the road 2 more blocks and it will be at the end of the second block, on the right. It's right beside a church. Also, the staff is very friendly, but not easy to get a hold of and don't expect to much when it comes to service. It states that they change linens and towels every two days, but we stayed there for 4 nights and this did not happen. The comforter on the bed and also the bathroom were dirty. Great location - within walking distance of most important sites and monuments (Colosseum, Roman Forum, Termini etc.). Breakfast served in Piccolo bar across the street. Choice of pastry and coffee/espresso/latte, which were both very good. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but think it is WAY over-priced for what it is. We would probably stay here again if it was just for a few days, but no longer and never with a family or large group.

We had an excellent stay with Carpe Diem taking in consideration that it is a Bed and Breakfast facility not a 5 star hotel. The access from and to the airport is very easy. The location is very good if you want to visit the center of Rome every day of your stay. The people were very friendly and very helpful. If I decide to return to Rome and spend the same budget I would have no problem to choose another stay with Carpe Diem.

Very nice B&B if you don´t expect too much luxury. Everything is clean, the rooms are nice and the location is excellent. Very close to metro and main attractions, also the train station is nearby. Two bathrooms are a clear plus, the breakfast is good, "Italian style". Good place for young people that want to see a lot and need an affordable place to stay.

The owner was well informed and gave a map marked with places which could be covered in 3 days. The place has around 5 rooms sharing 2 bathrooms. The rooms were nice; the only problem was the “consistent” noise from the street. The only died down after 10PM otherwise all we could do was to turn the TV volume high. The breakfast was provided through a Piccolo bar in the next block and only consisted of a drink and a crescent; the price of the breakfast items was only 1.5 euro. There is a supermarket nearby and a number of restaurants. The B&B was 2 block to a Metro and main Termini station and about 3-4 blocks from Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica. Weak breakfast and the constant noise were the only 2 things which troubled our stay here.

+ The staff was very friendly + Location close to Termini and the historical Rome (everything in a walking distance) + The rooms are comfortable - The room we stayed in was quite noisy, because of the Via Rattazzi traffic noise - The italian style "breakfast" means only a piece of something sweet (cake) and a cappuccino. That left us hungry. - The cleanliness of the toilets and shower could be better, but since all the quests share only two bathrooms, it's quite understandable.

I liked to stay in this b&b room, atmosphere was nice, except we found it difficult to find as we arrived late at night and could not find any sign at the building.

The location are in the Chinese quarters very close to the Termini station. The staff is not so good in English but it works. We found a indoormarket nearby with lots of fresh food; meat, fish, chese (parmesan & pecorini) and much more! Locals go there early in the mornings. There are also a clothes market in the house beside. Don't forget to visit the small church at piaza dei Popolo, they have paintings made by Carvaggio and Michelangelo!

It was the first time we go to the Carpe Diem. It was what we needed : a little place just to spend the night. It's well located, near a metro station. The room and bathroom are clean, the street is quite calm and the guest is friendly. It's far from a 4 stars hotel but for the price, we don't have any negative remarks to mention. Except perhaps for the breakfast : not served in the hotel but you receive a ticket to get one coffee and one croissant in a little bar. Good to know : the hotel is not directly recognizable (no board with the name, no mention "hotel"). It's a house among others.

The staff at Carpe Diem were wonderful, helpful, and always around when we had questions or problems. They were very flexible, and we never had to alter our plans to accomodate them. I would return to Carpe Diem in a heartbeat. The location was fairly central - about a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum, or a 20 minute walk to Piazza Barberini. Internet points and a metro station were both less than a block away. There are two small bathrooms shared by all rooms; both were clean and well-appointed. A smoker staying in another room did cause the common area to be slightly smoky, but it never affected our room.

Was braucht man schon groß?

Welcoming, have to call and wait 1 hour before someone arrived.Send e-mail with time of arrive but nobody. Have to move after 2 nights when whe have a booking for 4 nights, because they need the room for 3 people. The owner dumped us by a other b&b instead of other room in his own house as promissed when arrived. The room in the other b&b need to clean first so whe go out and come back around 16.00. Then they told us the room whas given away. But .... He has a other room in his own house, so moving again. His own house whas again a other b&b. But there whas a room, with a good breakfast also. The reason why whe have to move from Carpe Diem whas whe, a couple pay Euro 65 a night. And for 3 persons he recived 120 Euro a night. So in spite of a booking made in may 18 whe where kicked out. But its difficult to argu with someone who only speak Italian.

This B&B was ok, considering we were spending only one night. The area is a bit suspicious and full of immigrants (normal for Italian stations). Staff were very accommodating. Carpe Diem is situated very close to Termini station, and close to the Vittorio Emanuelle-metro stop, så it is very easy to get to public transportation. It takes about 30 minutes to walk from Carpe Diem to the absolut center of Rome. The rooms are clean, and so are the two bedrooms. We stayed for seven nights and would have liked to have changed our sheets, but that is the only thing to complain about. The room has one (good) bed, a closet, tv and a fan. It was ok!

Loud rooms, NO english speaking staff. There is no reception, so you have to call the owner via mobile (if it is turned on - otherwise you have to wait in our case). The breakfast is a joke. The place on the map is wrong there is just a sign on the doorbell. However, carpe diem is quite cheap and conveniently close to the railwaystation. Ask for a room to the backyard.

Due to the close Trainstation the CarpeDiem is perfect for a quick flight to Rome. All the sights are reachable within 20 minutes if you take the Subway, but even on foot we were surprised how close everything is. The rooms are clean and the Landlord friendly and very helpfull. If you cant sleep when there is a lot of streetnoise ask for the room to the courtyard or consider not to visit Rome at all ;)

I based my choice of Carpe Diem on the online reviews provided by Venere.com. Overall a very good place to stay for the price, especially for a family of five with three young children. It was less than a five minute walk to Termini station. Upon arrival we were provided with a practical map of Rome, and info about some tours (one of which we took). There was a supermarket close by. Breakfast was provided at a bar nearby. This is goood in that you can choose the time you have breakfast (important when you have three hungry children), and also choose what you want with the vouchers provided (a croissant and tea/coffee; for extra food/beverage you must pay). I would stay there again and recommend it to travellers who are looking for value for money B&B, and a comfortable place to sleep.

The bed and breakfeast is very clean and eas to find (5 minutes from the railway station). Due to the area, it's a bit noisy, and to be honest this area is not the "safest" area of Rome, but there is no problem ! it is ideally situated near the station (with train+tube+tramway), and the historic area with the colloseo, the trevi fountain, etc, that you can reach walking. it's a rather good place for the price. the only "bad point" could be the breakfeats you have to take in a pub near the hotel. The people in this pub is not always friendly, and prices can change from one day to another...but we are in Italy!!

We found the hotel to be in a very good state but were dissapointed to find that on arrival there was nobody there and no way of contacting the owners so we had to sit and wait for their return. THe owners had great trouble speaking english which made things difficlut but the property itself was lovely.
