Calisto6 B&B is an Italian city style "bed and breakfast" in Rome offering accommodations with a warm "bed and breakfast" atmosphere in a centrally located, convenient location. It is the perfect place to experience daily life in a typically Roman setting.
The apartment is located in a circa 1400 three-story townhouse built in the architectural style of the much-loved italian renaissance style in rione Trastevere, close to the famous S. Maria in Trastevere Church and it feels the effects of all the emotions that this site arouses.

Let us be your home in Rome.

The area of Trastevere is ideal for a walk through narrow streets, squares and colours that still maintain an authentically Roman character and offers a pleasant contrast with the solemn splendour seen at the Vatican. In antiquity Trastevere – "beyond the Tiber" – was the first district established on the right bank of the Tiber and was inhabited by artisans, fishermen, merchants and communities of foreigners, connected with the activities of the nearby port.

The historic centre is at your feet. Crossing the Tevere you are at the Pantheon, with Piazza Navona and Campo de' Fiori; on to the Campidoglio, to the Foro Romano, to the Coliseum, to Fontana di Trevi and then Trinità dei Monti, to the most famous roads for shopping; coming down from the other side of the hill of the Gianicolo, you are at San Pietro.
All attainable destinations on foot, for those who love to walk and enjoy Rome in the best way, or with the bus that stops close to home.
... And the evening, leaving the B&B, you will have the unique feeling of entering in the history of the city getting to the alleys of Trastevere, the most Roman neighborhoods, famous for the many features Roman trattoria where you can enjoy culinary delights, a true delight the palate.

Great location to explore Trastevere! Very warm welcome & hints on where to go. Our room was a standard double & badly in need of a refurb. It looked as though the others had been recently redone & they looked great. Very noisy from bar below until 3am & from 6.30am! Overall good - fine if you're partying all night!

We were in the annex in vicolo del Piede, not in the main hotel building in Piazza Calisto 6. We were really impressed by the high standards of the furniture, the decoration and the attention to detail in the interior. From outside, beautiful traditional house in probably the best area to stay in Rome.

This wonderful B&B is situated in a strategically perfect area. Almost every point of interest is on 15min walk from the B&B. The area itself, Trastevere, is fabulous: full of restaurants, cafes and little shops. It's easy to get there from the airport Fiumicino taking a regional train till Trastevere and then some stops by tram. The only problem is the night life. The bar under the windows (which provides you in the morning with warm atmosfere and capuccino with croissant) at night provides you with quite a noisy crowd of people till 2 a.m. It's good if you're young and hang out yourself till dawn, but not very convenient for people who go to bed early. In any case I would stay there in the future, maybe asking for a quieter room.

On the plus side: our room was clean and tastefully decorated & the furniture was new. The bathroom was clean and spacious but not en-suite, something that was not clear at the time of booking. The main disadvantage is the noise; this being a small establishment, the rooms share a small corridor and the noise from other people going in and out is constant. Also, right next to the B&B is a busy neighbourhood bar which was not too bad now in the winter with the windows closed, but if visiting in the summer it might be a problem. Another disadvantage was the breakfast: Calisto does not have a breakfast area so breafast is served in the bar next door and it consists only of one coffee and one croissant per person, which we thought was pretty poor. Overall not good value for money.

We stayed at Callisto 6 for 3 nights and were very pleased. I would suggest to take them up on the offer of transport from the airport. They charge 50 euros and we thought it would be cheaper by taxi. It was the same and because they do not have 24 hour reception no one was there when we got in. Luckily the nearby restaurant let us use their phone to call and someone was there in 5 minutes. If you can't handle stairs, are a 'fraidy cat or light sleeper find somewhere else. The bar downstairs has the cheapest beer and wine around and is a gathering spot for locals both for breakfast and late night. Would definitely stay here again.

We were pleasantly surprized. The B&B is central, and oversees a really nice square where locals gather for coffee and drinks. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great lively location if you're young travelers. We easily blocked out any noise at night by closing the windows (although the air conditioner was a bit loud). Shared bathroom was very clean, bedroom was always made up when we came home in the evenings. The B&B owners were not really around, but we had no issues with that.

This charming apartment style hotel is in an excellent location, within steps to many restaurants, boutiques and cafes. It's tucked away in a tiny alley off the more touristed areas, so it's not loud even though only one street over is a bustling night spot for tourists and locals alike. The food in the neighborhood is good and lots of options for dining. The apartment itself is clean, has cute furnishings and plenty of living room / dining / kitchen space apart from the bedrooms. There's supposed to be wifi internet, but we weren't able to access it? The hotel customer service person was nice and welcoming, but because it's an apartment style accommodation, she wasn't available after we checked in at a different (office?) where we buzzed the door to ask for service. All in all, it's a nice place in a good location and recommended for travelers who want privacy and are somewhat self-sufficient (don't need concierge or 24hr staff around for help).

Perfect B&B in a very nice neighbourhood. The bar downstairs is quite busy till late (except sundays). You can hear that in your very nice and cosy room. It’s located in one of the best parts of Trastevere.

Very nice hotel, just good to know it is quite noisy at night because it is above a bar, for the rest, location is good: nice rooms, clean, very centrally located.

The area around is absolutely fantastic, Trastevere is magic, but Calisto 6 is nothing for those who want quiet and peaceful surroundings. Absolutely vibrant area around the piazza and it felt very roman, not touristic even though it´s in the heart of Trastevere. Very simple breakfast and the noise from the bar below was enough to keep the windows closed all night if you wanted to get any sleep.

Good value! Vibrant Rome Piazza location. Look for the 'tagged' door. (could use a good cleaning) Very active night life all around the area and if you want authentic Rome, here it is! Some noise from the bar below/beside/behind/... but still managed a good sleep. Could use a bottle of water and some tissues for guests. Private bathroom across the hall.

I loved this B&B--mostly for its wonderful location, in the heart of Trastevere close to fantastic restaurants and bars. I was a bit worried about the noise situation since my window was directly above the bar, but I closed the windows at night and turned on the AC and couldn't hear a thing from outside. My room was lovely otherwise! Only complaint is that the shared shower/bathroom was TEENY tiny. But I never saw another soul the whole time I was staying there so I was never inconvenienced by having to share it. No real service to speak of, but owners Andrea and Nariya were very friendly upon arrival. I appreciated the WiFi as well as the generally decent breakfast downstairs at Bar Calisto. Great place for independent travelers who want an authentic Roman experience.

We really liked Calisto 6. The bed was comfy, the furniture was modern, the shower was powerful, the area was really characterful and so close to the centre of rome, and the bar downstairs was a great slice of fairly normal italian life ... BUT it is noisy at night. Even with the windows and shutters closed and ear plugs in, I could hear it. So not good if you are a light sleeper, but we had done so much walking around Rome every day that we did sleep pretty well on the whole!

My friend and I loved this Bed and Breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and the location was excellent. The bathroom was tiny but clean and functional. Cappuccinos at the bar below are excellent, and being located in Trastevere was the highlight of our vacation. I would recommend it to anyone looking to feel more at "home" in an apartment-style living arrangement than a typical, impersonal hotel.

We showed up at the B&B in Rome and, much to our surprise, were shuttled around the corner to our own (almost) personal apartment (there was another woman staying in the second room)! We had our own bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, sitting area, all in the heart of beautiful Trastevere. The breakfast was sparse (consisted of packaged pastries and corn flakes, and an auto-espresso machine that requires some getting used to), but we like to go out for coffee anyways, so this wasn't a big deal. They charged us an additional 4 euro a night for some sort of Rome tax thing, not sure what it was about, but whatever. The only complaint is that the bathroom had a strong smell of mildew. I wouldn't normally complain about something like this, but it was overpowering. Overall, though, I would stay hear again in a heartbeat. Where else can you get an apartment in Rome for less than 80 a night?

We spent two nights at the calisto6 B&B. room was nice although, facing on a crowded square, even late at night, was kinda noisy. bathroom was private but to access to it guests had to pass by a common space; it was soo small very uncomfortable to use it, ceiling was very low, i doubt tall ppl could actually fit in it, shower was so little and each time you used it the water would flood part of the bathroom. Last but not least, breakfast was served outside of the b&b, in a bar close to it. Location is very good.

I stayed in a beautiful old house with two separate rooms, separate private bathrooms (not directly off the rooms) and shared living/kitchenette. The location was absolutely fabulous, a stumble from the restaurants and bars i went to, perfect for a lone traveller, and the restaurant recommended to me was local, cheap and excellent! I wouldn't recommend their breakfast, but I prefer to go out for coffee and dolce anyway. The other room may have been a little noisy located above the bathrooms(?), but mine was perfectly quiet with the house tucked away just off the main streets. This house would be perfect for two couples travelling together.

This was the perfect place and particularly the perfect location for my daughter, a student, and me. We stayed for 5 days. The room was small but full of character. The bathroom was not quite en suite, but roomy, private and very clean. We actually stayed in an offshoot a few minutes from the Calisto6 which has the bar below, so had no problem with bar noise. The neighbourhood was fabulous, especially appreciated the evening we came back from a trip to see a church close to the railway station, and that area is ghastly. Trastevere is perfect to come home to, great for restaurants and bars, and you don't feel at all ripped-off by prices. The breakfast provided by Calisto6 was the one small downside. We didn't have it, but went to a cafe in the square nearby and that was a terrific start to the day. For value, character and location I'd absolutely stay here again.

Calisto 6 is in the best, most genuine area of Rome - I decided to stay there so that I could return to Trastevere after having spent five weeks studying there. The owner was very nice when we called ahead and then met her, but it was hard to know how to contact her once she left for the night. Overall, I would definitely recommend it, especially for other students looking for an affordable option in an area where things will be happening at all hours of night and day.

Quite good for a B&B, clean and friendly. Bar for breakfast just outside (you get breakfast coupons from the B&B). Excellent location in Trastevere. Near to tram and bus so you can easily go to train stations and the train for the airport. The 2nd time we stayed here.

Perfectly located in Trastevere, a nice room and very nice staff. Cold water for two days lowers the rating though. In the summer it could have been ok, but since it was Decembre we needed the warm water!
