We arrived in Rome 2 hours late from Tel Aviv, called the contact number from the airport and we were greeted immediately on arrival by the hostess of the property. With the help of the young man who was there, we negotiated the compact (make that old) elevator to the 3rd floor and were shown to our room which was immaculate. We were shown how to work the A/C, TV, VCR. Paid in advance as requested (using Euro Travelers Cheques). We could hear a little noise from the kitchen (next to our room), but the sumptuous breakfast which was cooked to order more than made up for that. Only real regret...we had to leave early for our plane and missed breakfast on the last day. recommend this place to anyone who just wants a nice place to stay.

Good for couples, single people. I really enjoyed my stay at Best Vatican. The breakfast (included in the price) was amazing, a lot of variety and presented nicely on a rolling tray. My only complaint is that when we 'checked out', aka paid, the rate was actually 5 euros higher and they told me the 5% discount did not apply because we didn't stay 2 nights minimum and also because we were not paying cash. I never read this in the email confirmation (I guess there was really small fine print that I may have missed), they confirmed the price when I booked online. So that was a bit of a disappointment, but other than that, I would highly recommend staying here. Overall pretty good value for the money. Very walkable location to lots of main attractions (trevi fountain, etc). We borrowed a map of the area from the 'lounge' room which was nice since we only had 1 day to explore.

B&B Vatican exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much for such great service. I was a bit nervous about what we would find because I had booked on line but didn't need to worry. The room wasn't very big but was adequate for our purposes. Everything was nice and clean and the provided breakfast could have fed an army! The property was also very conveniently located close to vatican. (Easy walking distance)

Pros: clean, modern, very comfortable bed, great breakfast, near Vatican. Cons: expensive, pretty far from most other sites, staff speaks very little english and does not give suggestions of where to go and eat. I would rather have stayed somewhere more central in Rome, like near the Pantheon, but I didn't know where the sites where I booked this place. If your prime interest is Vatican city and you want a nice place to stay, then this would be a good option.

English: good modern B&B. Nice sorroundings, well connected by metro and bus (get map). Walking distance to Vatican City. Great breakfast served in room. Internet. Late check out.

It was a great place to stay for our two night stay in Rome. We were welcomed upon arrival and given a tour of the property and the amenities. Breakfast was great and served promptly every morning. The only negative was the loud noise in the morning that everyone has mentioned. It didn't matter too much as we were up and out early each day. The location near the Vatican and the Metro was great.

The B&B itself is very good, as others have commented, clean, good location, great breakfast. However, we had an unfortunate incident where we were kept awake most of one night by a commotion which appeared to involve someone else staying at the B&B. We reported this, on the telephone number supplied to us, and the response we had was for it to be dismissed out of hand. Two points; it brings home in a stark fashion that you are sharing an apartment with people you don't know and there are no B&B staff on the premises (or apparantly willing to come and help); and, this is the worst example of customer service I have come across in many years of travelling. I emailed the B&B after I returned - no response. I couldn't stay there again if this is typical of their behaviour if anything goes wrong.

A friend had tipped me off about tripadvisor.com since me and my girlfriend had a bit of a dilemma of choosing a nice and cosy place to stay for our four-day trip to Rome (Sun-Wed in late January). Both the reviews and the photos of the Best B&B Vatican were encouraging and since both the price and location were close to ideal, we decided to go for it. We had written that we would arrive between 11 and 12 am on Sunday morning, not an ideal hour to be up early for Italians, and one of the reviews had tipped us off that getting hold of the staff at arrival in the morning was a bit tricky. Not so. A very clear sign indicating both B&B name and a cell to call if no one answered the doorbell sat right next to the door. Answering the cell was a very congenial young fellow who was running a bit late but assured us he'd be there in 20 minutes, not very unusual in Italy and actually a thing to be expected for a small B&B in Southern Europe - I've lived in Italy. An informative tour of both the B&B and the facilities of the room followed and I have to say that I was astounded. For all of you expecting five star accomodation, you'd be better off choosing something closer to Piazza Spagna, but for the rest of us, who were probably expecting less, it was a beautiful little place. Clean and small - but not cramped - rooms with a comfortable bed and a pretty little bathroom with a shower. Also a flat screen TV with a DVD (never turned it on, so wouldn't be able to tell you about it) mounted on a wall and in front of this a little table flanked by a couple of Victoria Ghost chairs by Philip Starck. Unbelievable breakfasts were had at that table and it's probably the best one we have ever had in an accommodation we have payed money for. Toast, croissants, jams, butter, prosciutto, edam cheese, scrambled (or for that matter any kind of) eggs and bacon, yoghurt, milk, espresso/cappuccino/americano, fruit, corn flakes, muesli, etc. Five stars! With silver ware, we could be sitting at t

I was travelling with my friend and our main purpose of stay at this B&B was to attend the Christmas Mass at the Vatican. It is located at an ideal place to visit the Vatican City or any other places in Rome; close to Metro station as well. Many shops nearby. As commented by others, breakfast is excellent - perhaps the best you can get for this price in Rome!

We didn't actually stay at the Vatican in the end, due to building work we were relocated to the Pantheon and upgraded to a Double Room Deluxe. From the Pictures both hotels look very similar, We were really looking forward to going but it surpassed our expectations. The place was amazing we even got free slippers & free net, the hair dryer in the room was a proper one (not one of those silly tube things attached to the wall)and the room had an ironing board & iron. It seems everyone raved about the breakfast & rightly so, again amazing delivered to your door and you can just order everything on the menu, we did & any pastrys we didn't eat we took to snack on. Mini Bar is fairly priced rather than stupidly expensive. Brilliant location all in all fantastic, brill price for what you get xx

This was the best breakfast of our 4 B&Bs in Italy; not a continental bun and coffee, but a complete meal that you'd get at a Ristorante. The Room was very clean and modern, although a bit small. Having internet access was a plus. The staff arranged a 4:30 AM taxi to the airport. All in all, we'd stay here again. Good location.

The Best Vatican B&B was more than we could have hoped for! We had the smallest of the 4 rooms, which was still plenty big. The bathrooms were large and cleaned daily. The bed was almost too firm for me, but we actually slept just fine. Nicolette was so nice and accomadating. The breakfast was AMAZING! Definitely the best part of the entire stay. Everything was so delicious and plenty of it. Greatly surpassed the breakfast we had in Venice. Having a laptop and internet available was a great plus. And the location of the B&B was perfect!! Quiet, cute little neighborhood with lots of options for dining. Only 2 blocks away from the metro/buses and a 5 min walk to the Vatican!! Felt very safe and would not have wanted to stay anywhere else. Would recommend to everyone!

The breakfast was simply the most amazing we had in all the b&b's we stayed in. Extremely yummy and a luxury after just flying in. The service was lovely and the room clean and super quiet for Rome. The metro(subway) is right around the corner and there is lovely restaurants just down the street and a cute wine bar across the street. It was a 10-15 minute walk to st.peters and we did it right after arriving. There was a lift so you don't have to haul your luggage. They also had a phone card available in the room that you could buy which was a big help for us, and the internet too so we could tell family we were ok. We would totally stay here again if we visited Rome and thought it was simply an amazing B&B.

Best Vatican was great, and very clean. The Breakfast was the best part of our stay :) The only issue I had was with the towels that are not very absorbent. The maid also did not change the towels on one of the days, and folded up a wet towel, for us to use again that evening. We were received by Giorgia, who hurried us through the check-in. On the next day Rudolfo was much more helpful when he checked in another set of guests. Other than that we enjoyed our stay at Best Vatican.

The name of this B&B says everything itself - it's really the best! The design of the room and and public areas, the friendly hostess, the services or, i would say, extras provided, like DVD, slippers, etc. and the breakfast... First, served in the room, second, the amount and quality of food is more than you could ever expect! Highly recommended!

Beware of the 'twin room' at Best Vatican!! For couples sharing a room, this B&B would probably be just fine. I had specifically emailed the B&B to check that twin-rooms were available and had received a 'yes, of course' response. They provide a double bed in the room, and what can only be described as a camp-bed (unfolded from a footstool) suitable for a child at best. I spent 2 very uncomfortable nights on a hard and narrow bed - with holes in the sheets! I did complain to the manager (as the bed was not even made up when we arrived & we had to do it ourselves - the gentleman who met us complained that it was not his job.....!!). I suggested that they ought to be more specific about the twin-share accomodation on their website - ie, that twin rooms (with two proper beds) are really only available at their other B&B Pantheon. Georgia (the manager) said that she would do this, and also offered me a small discount (10%) on the accomodation. This B&B has had excellent reviews on this site, and this was the basis of my choice of hotel in Rome. I agree that the breakfasts are very good and the hotel is in a good location. It is disappointing that my experience was unsatisfactory and I do hope that information regarding twin-share is made clearer on their website.

Breakfast is great, one of the best I ever had on my trips. I had the smallest room of the property (was cheaper) but it was very clever furnished so you had all you needed in it (including DVD and Satellite). You also have access to another room (somehow like a reception) where you have laptop with internet, DVDs to watch, printer, etc. Quite great at this price.

I can't fault Best B&B Vatican. The service was fantastic. It was quiet (I just hope that our baby did not keep others awake). The breakfast was huge. We could not possibly eat it all and took some of the leftover pastries away with us to eat during the day. The staff were lovely. It felt very secure. There is a great wine bar and restaurant across the road and of course it was very close to Vatican City. It was a bit of a struggle for us with luggage and a baby to get there from Termini but that was because we had a lot of stuff we had to get up and down stairs in the Metro. It is an easy walking distance to the Metro station.

This place was lovely. The Best breakfast is definitely the best. Also, there was a huge wide screen tv on the wall, a safe box, plenty of space, dimmer lights, incredibly soft towels and bath mat, hot powerful shower and even slippers for plodding around the bathroom. All other facilities were as listed too. The rooms were quiet and you were left pretty much to yourself although people were generally helpful when you asked them for something. This place and the people who run it were really accomodating; they even brought us breakfast (served in your room) almost an hour before the regular time because we had an early flight home that day. If it hadn't been for the power shower shooting straight out the door when I tried the water temperature and the key being a bit tricky in the door (so that we woke people up trying to get into our room), i'd have probably given it top scores all round. Will definitely recommend it.

Whilst the room and breakfast was good, we were extremely disapointed because each of the four nights we were there the electricity cut out. Meaning we could not shower, relax, sleep or even see our selves into the building. There was no apology from the hotel management or compensation for the loss in services - which I think is just as bad, if not worse then not having electricity.

The location was excellent. Nice quiet and safe neighbourhood and very close to met transport. 500 tv channels. Room very clean and comfortable. Excellent security. Everything was as we expected, and the breakfast was first class. It took us more time to walk into the centre than we had thought, but the metro is only 2-3 minutes away and it should be used for the Spanish Steps and the Colosseum. Get the bus no.23 from the far side of the Piazza Risorgimento to Trastevere for dinner at a cheaper price than the local restaurants. We recommend this B & B, but the Best Pantheon is more central. Do consider using the private transfer from the airport which was great, and buy the Roma Pass for the bus & metro and for entrance to venues/museums.

We had very good stay in Best B&B 5 nights (20.05.2008 - 25.05.2008). The first 4 days breakfast served by the italian parlourmaid was very, very good. But last breakfast served by the Asian parlourmaid, was twice less, than the last days. Owners of hotel are necessary for approaching to selection of the attendants more closely, because the price of residing is high enough.

This is not a traditional B&B; it is a mini hotel with no front desk staff. We had to find a kind store clerk who would call someone to check us in; there was no one to check us out. This woman spoke good English, but she was not readily available at that phone number to ask questions. A cook and housekeeper came in for 2-3 hours each morning and that was it. Neither spoke English. This is a great place if you speak the language and/or know your way around. The breakfast was delicious: bacon and eggs plus a huge continental breakfast. It was served in our room; there was no chance to meet the other guests. This is an Italian neighborhood, not a tourist area. It had local, not tourist prices, and the amibance was delightful. We thought this quaint at first, but we could not find anyone who spoke English well enough to tell us how to get to the airport, and the phone in the room did not work. We would have to buy an expensive phone card to use the public phone for one call. I started stopping people on the street, asking if they spoke English; no one did. We finally found a store clerk who could direct us to a taxi stand, but couldn't find out if anyone would be there at 5:30 to 6:00 a.m. until we got there the morning of departure. They were, but it was very stressful until then. We like B&Bs because we can get to know a local person or family a little and learn about life wherever we are; this did not happen here.

Looking for a B&B in The Vatican vicinity a few days prior to departure to Rome, we were very fortunate and "very lucky" to find a room vacant in such a prime property. Of course we "studied" reviews of other choices as well, but none came up to the excellent rating of this B&B. We were not to be disappointed, and we express our compliments on running an excellent, very efficient, well organized, modern, clean and comfortable Bed & Breakfast residence. Our emphasis is not necessarily placed on the word "breakfast", however, may we say, that we were overwhelmed by the choice, qualitity and quantity. Furthermore, the privacy of having breakfast served in the room is another plus point we appreciated and enjoyed. If we are allowed to make one small recommendation, it is, that all the polyester towels (minimal absorbent) be replaced by cotton towels. To get away from the bustle of the inner city, this residence is in the perfect vicinity, especially for visiting the Vatican (a stone´s throw away), and the METRO and bus routes are just around the corner. Best B&B is easy to find and in a very long street with quite a few family run businesses, small shops, cafes and restaurants. There are also local main shopping streets, other restaurants and "fast food" localities in abundance. This area is clean and safe, and we had no hostile experiences at all during our whole stay in Rome. As far as choice of restaurants go, there are all price categories around, so it´s a matter of making one´s own experience. On a final note, we certainly recommend Best B&B as an excellant choice for all age groups. Enjoy Rome! Mike and Ulla

Convenient and clean place to stay. The beds were comfortable, nice bath with good size shower. We had a wonderful breakfast every morning. We had a serious problem on our second day as there was no hot water for showers. We informed the service person that morning, but it was not fixed until the next day. Also there was a nice TV in the room but only two English channels on the satellite systems. There were probably a hundred channels but only the BBC and Euronews was in English. Of course, we did not stay in our room much, but a TV at bedtime would have been nice. All considered, I would stay there again.

It was awesome, you basically have the run of the house (loft). From the outside you may get a a bit scared, but once you enter this converted apartment, you are completely amazed. The rooms are small, but very Modern and very clean. There is a common room with a computer, some books and DVD'S, where you can hang out with your other housemates. Your are on your own through the night, there is no conceierge. In the morning you are provided with Breakfast in your room and I am not talking about Cheese and Bread, I am talking, eggs, breakfast meats, cheese, fruit, cereal, coffee..etc...that is all made by this terrific woman, who comes in just to cook and clean....Location is perfect if you are visiting the Vatican and St. Peters....I highly recommend this for couples or singles travelling without children..

The Best B&B Vatican was just as pictured. The location was excellent being by the subway stop and there is an ATM just outside the front entrance. The breakfast was huge as others had advised. We arrived at 10 am and we left our luggage and came back at 12 pm when the cleaning lady advised our room would be ready. I would highly recommend this location!

Also nettes Personal, also wir kommen gerne wieder.

My wife and I make the following comments: The breakfast was surprisingly good. The bathroom was well equipped but too small for 2 people. The room was small and spartanly furnished with only a few open shelves and 2 drawers. The window did not open to the street but to an unattractive inner court so that the blinds could not be left open. One certainly could not stay in the room except for the night and the breakfast. If necessary, we would return to this Bed & Breakfast because of the very convenient location.

I had never been to Rome before, and came not only for a break with my partner but also to play in a concert at the Auditorium. Despite a bit of initial confusion as to which lift we had to get to find the apartment, once we arrived at the room, we were met with a very inviting welcome. Nothing seemed to be a problem and it seemed everything I asked for could be catered for. As I had had an unfortunate incident on the way to the B&B (my guitar was stolen at Termini station before I could even play my concert!), I was hopeful I could find a replacement for hire locally, and our host Emanuele, being a musician as well, was very supportive and suggested places I could try. I was also extremely grateful for being able to have free access to the Internet whilst there. Our stay at the B&B was very enjoyable while we were there, and after a full day's sightseeing or day's rehearsing, very welcome to come back to. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the decor was modern with a great bathroom/shower and flat screen TV in the room with virtually every channel available (but no BBC!). In the morning, the breakfast was wheeled by trolley into our room and was very satisfying, and more than enough to keep you going for the rest of the day. The location was ideal, being a stone's throw from a Metro station, and being not only within very easy (10-15 minutes) walking distance of Vatican City but also to the other main attractions in Rome. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars in the local area, as well as a wide range of quality shops to spend your Euros in. Unfortunately I contracted food poisoning (not from the B&B I must add!)on my last night in Rome so was in no state to say a big thank you to anyone at the B&B, but I can now through this review. I would definitely return here if I came back to Rome, and would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in a very comfortable, central location at a value-for-money price.

The place is nice and it is very close the subway. The breakfast is fine. The big problem is the noise - from 7 AM you can hear the lady that is preparing the breakfast or what are doing the other guests. Except this remark, everything else is ok, but don't count on watching TV...

Excellent B&B. Great room, wonderful location, fantastic breakfast. The tricky thing is the entrance. When you arrive for the first time, as you enter the building do not turn right, go straight on through a small courtyard. Then take a tiny lift to the 3rd floor.

Very nice clean rooms. Crisp modern decor, but leaving a less than cozy feel. Was a bit noisy with other guests coming and going but no street noise. The keys were quite large and difficult to use. Breakfasts were wonderful as others have mentioned. An abundance of meat, cheese, pastries etc. The morning staff was able to accomodate our early departure with an early breakfast. Very convenient location around the corner from the Metro and bus stops.

The B&B was clean and large by Rome standards. They also had free computer internet access and a small lounge area. The location was not too close to major attractions but many good restaurants around. The staff did not speak English at all but were very friendly and tried to accommodate all we asked. The breakfast was by far the best and had tons to offer. We wished we had that breakfast every morning. They also arranged for a shuttle from the airport that was on-time and waited as we searched for lost luggage. The only negative was that I tried to contact them later in our trip to arrange another airport shuttle and they never answered and there was no voice mail. I had no problem communicating over e-mail but would have liked the option to contact someone live if I needed. There is someone there from 7am-10am only and other than that you are on your own. Overall, a great place to stay and worth the price.

We had to leave early because my mother died in the US and although they helped us with transportation to the airport, no refund was made for the additional two night we paid in advance. I thought this was unkind and inconsiderate, it's not like we could have planned in advance for a death in the family.

A reccomander

The staff at Best (Vatican) were pleasant and friendly. The breakfast was as good as portrayed on the web. However, the room was much smaller than appeared. The "42 inch" television (both in our room and in another I saw) was only 15 to 17 inches at best. We were told that the small one was there because the large one was out for repair. The bathroom was clean, but much smaller than portrayed on the web, and the shower had no place to hold soap, so you either held it in your hand or had to keep it outside the shower. Also, there was no bidet as shown on the web. We payed extra for a double "superior" room, but could not see what was superior about the room. There was no offer to reduce the price for the lack of the large screen TV or the bathroom. There was also no offer of a discount for a cash payment. The young ladies who cleaned the rooms and prepared the breakfasts were extremly nice. The owners were also pleasant but relatively invisible. They were, however, extremely helpful in obtaining a car to get to the airport. The surrounding neighborhood was a little shabby as was the entrance to the building. This bed and breakfast is really meant for young people.

We LOVED the Best Vatican location and we WILL stay here again if we come back to Rome in the future. Everything was very clean and this was very important to me as I sometimes shower wearing flip-flops if I doubt the cleanliness of an establishment, however, this was certainly NOT the case at the Best B&B, which was very clean. The bedspread was a spotless white duvet cover which I analyzed for any questionable spots. There were NONE!! It was very clean (to my relief) and I had no reservations about sitting on it as I do in some places that have garish floral comforters that are only used so that they can hide the stains. Another nice touch is that they had us select what we wanted for breakfast ahead of time on paper and hang it outside our door. My husband had scrambled eggs and we both had freshly made cappuccinos along with several other typical breakfast items that were rolled in to us personally on a cart to enjoy privately in our room. On the last day we had to leave for the airport at like 4 a.m. and the housekeeper arranged an advanced breakfast in our room the night before so that we could have something quick before our early departure. Our friends were in the next room and they equally had good things to say about the Best B&B. As far as the surroundings, there was a classy bar that we had some late night cocktails at, and this was only 2 min. walk on the same street. There were a few restaurants 5 min. walk away. But the street was very quiet and seemed like it was mostly residential. (We seemed to be the loudest on it) In the building, we were taking the elevator up and a man came out of his apartment and asked us to keep it down, his wife behind him in curlers. So needless to say, it was a pretty quiet area. The only noise we could hear in our room was our friend singing next door in their shower.

I would recommend this accomodation for anyone who is visiting Rome for sight seeing and wants to be in a quiet street but near main attractions and the metro station. This b&b is very central. Not so good if you don't like lifts and can't manage 3 flights of stairs but good excercise if you can! Fantastic continental breakfast each morning brough to your room, choose what you like. Very clean spacious modern rooms. Recommended for couples in their 20s-40s

Best Vatican is a small Bed & Breakfast of only 4 bedrooms, but is well worth considering if you prefer this type of property to a big hotel. The room we had (Number 4)was small but very clean & tidy, with a window onto the central courtyard. The bathroom was small but neat. An outstanding breakfast is delivered to your room every morning by the friendly staff, you really do need to see it to appreciate it. Our only complaint would be that the bed was a bit hard for our taste & the sitting space a bit small, but these are small points. We enjoyed our week long stay & I would recomend this property.

This is an excellent location for visiting the Vatican and for access to the easy-to-use Metro to visit other attractions. Welcoming and information on transport, attractions and restaurants were great. It was very comfortable for our first two nights after a long flight and the driver service from the airport was definitely worth the charge. If you arrange for this, when you come out of the arrivals area look for the long line of drivers with signs with names. You have to walk out of the first space a few steps. Breakfast was exceptional and delivered at exactly the time ordered by very friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely stay again.

The breakfasts and minibar pricers were exceptionally good value, and the room was very comfortable.
