Very convenient to Vatican and local attractions. All shower and toilets are outside the sleeping rooms. While the bathroom was designated for use by the particular room only, one did have to leave their room and walk a common hall to access these facilities. Wonderful restaurants within a few steps of the hotel. It was easy to walk to all attractions, and I'd definitely stay there again.

The hotel was a nice find in Rome. It was equidistant from the coliseum area and the Vatican. The owner was very helpfulf and provided recommendations for places to dine which were very good. The room was not anything fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. My only comment was that it says bed and breakfast, but we never saw the breakfast part. For us it wasn't a big deal because it allowed us to try different restaurants.

This Bed&Breakfast is good and the location is pretty much close to everywhere. Nevertheless, for a B&B it was surprising that the option of breakfast was not available. You are pretty much alone in a house. Still, the staff was very nice and you can walk pretty much anywhere (Forum and Colisseum being the furthest at about 25 minutes walk). Metro is not far (10min) in case you need to go further away. Overall the stay was pleasant.

Great location and a charming place to stay. The owner was warm and welcoming. He provided us with maps, directions to local buses, suggestions on restaurants, and lots of ideas about sight seeing. He looked after our best interests. Our room was spacious with an en suite bathroom. Shower was a bit small but workable. Madam was on site to help 24 hours a day. AntiguaRoma is a small hotel that makes you feel at home. Great value for the money. It is a 10 minute walk from the Vatican and a one block walk for a city bus that takes you to the colosseum. A real gem!

This was our fourth time to Rome and our first staying in this area near the Vatican. It was really great to stay at the AntiquaRoma as it is close to the Vatican, Piazza Navona and Piazza Popolo. In addition it is very close to the Via Cola di Rienzo which is the shopping area that the local population of Rome shops on.The room was well appointed, more than adequate in size and on a quiet street. The price for the accomodations is a bargain when considering location and quality. I would highly recommend these accomodations to anyone. Ken P. Canada

Stayed in Rome for almost 5 days, and I must say I've greatly enjoyed AntiquaRoma. The location is great, a walking distance from the Vatican and Piazza Navona(12 minutes). A bus stations, taking to anywhere you want is also nearby which makes things much easier when you get tired of walking. The place itself is very clean, the rooms are fairly comfortable and the owner is mostly kind and helpful. I truly recommend AntiquaRoma!

we loved the Antiqua Roma, it was perfect in every way beautiful rooms and easy access to every site in Rome if you want to walk, which we did. Outstanding coffee shop and food just around the corner, and all kinds of shopping, yet you never feel like you are a tourist. The bus is a block away that takes you to the airport. This is a great place.

we had a pleasant stay in Rome. The B&B felt like being home, very clean, cosy and familiar. Only the walls from the adjacent bathrooms were badly soundproofed and some air conditioning lined to the inner court were a bit noisy. The owner was very gentle and helpful but discreet. The B&B is unsurpassed and excellent located between the Vatican and the historic center. We'll come back!

Enrico was very helpful in providing bus directions to the hotel for my boyfriend who was coming from southern Italy by train. Although it required a little rescheduling for him to make it there by the 9pm check-in time, he was happy to make it in time to do some exploring before I arrived the next morning. It was also really nice to have free internet access during our few nights there although we had to go into the hallway to get a signal. Having the bus so close made it easy to get around although we wound up walking most of the time (bring comfy shoes and be careful on the stairs down as they can be a bit slippery). It was nice not to have to stay by the train station, but to know that it was easy enough to get to when it was time for us to leave for Florence. In the evening, that area seemed to quiet down considerably, so on the way back, you may want to grab water or whatever you'll need before crossing the Ponte Cavour. One thing that there's no shortage of in Rome is places to eat though; my boyfriend went out and found some of the best pizza I had on our whole trip on my first night there when I was too tired to go out. I only truly came to appreciate the neighborhood that we were in on our last night in Rome, when there was no availability at Antiqua Roma and we had to stay near the train station where the streets are much more hectic and filled with tourists (although you can never truly escape us). We had a nice double room with a balcony and an en suite bathroom, which was great. Enrico let us leave our bags in the hallway for a few hours after checking out (the check out is a little early at 10am), which was helpful although then we did not have access to a bathroom. Even though there are bathrooms in the hallway, they are for the rooms, so there's no communal restroom to use, FYI. Others have mentioned the street noise, which was there, but not much of a problem for us. Waking up to the sounds of an Italian argument and some horn honking was odd

This is a terrific place to stay. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. We had an external bathroom and didn't even mind. The manager Enrico was so nice and extremely helpful; he suggested a number of great neighborhood restaurants so we were able to avoid the tourist traps. The location is really convenient and pleasant--2 minute walk to the river and walkable to most of the tourist sites, although some--like the Colosseum take a bit longer . The neighborhood is not touristy and very pleasant. Also, there is a very convenient bus from the airport that dropped us off 2 minutes from the hotel and was less expensive than the train from Termini station. All in all we felt that this was a great value and a wonderful place to stay. We will certainly come back next time we visit Rome

First off, this is the best place we've stayed at in any of our city trips. The establishment used to be an apartment in a beautiful building right between the river tiber and piazza cavour. Each of the rooms is decorated individually and antique without it feeling worn down. There are rooms with ensuite bathrooms and with bathrooms in the hall. Also you can book breakfast in your room if you like. Internet is provided by a laptop that is open for usage by guests or by wifi for your own mobile device/laptop. The hospitality of the owner Enrico is just unmatched. Even though we arrived late at night, one of the staff waited for our arrival. Enrico speaks fluent english and will tell you everything you need to know about how to get around in rome. The location of AntiquaRoma is close to perfect. Almost everything is within walking distance. Walking to the Colosseum e.g. will take about 30-35 mins, to Vatican City only 5-10 mins. Furthermore, it is situated in a very safe and nice neighborhood so you won't have to worry about coming back late at night. All in all, it's one of the best stays we've had in an european capital so far and we'd recommend it to anyone travelling to rome single or as a couple. It's just a great establishment with probably one of the best value for money ratios in Rome.

We liked a lot our stay in AntiquaRoma. Enrico is a friendly and professional host, and the place is clearly well taken care of. The rooms are clean and everything works. The location is also very good, with only 10 minutes walk to Piazza Navona, for example, all major sights within nice walking distance. Many nice non-tourist-oriented cafes can be found nearby for breakfast or snacks, and also restaurants, shops, etc. Piazza Cavour just two blocks from AntiquaRoma has excellent traffic connections to other parts of Rome, including direct busses to Termini Station and Fiumicino Airport. The only slight downside of our experience was the occasional noise from the street below our room, especially the night when recycled glass was collected... Light sleepers might want to consider another place, but we didn't find this little annoyance too bad. It must be quite difficult, after all, to find a very quiet place in the middle of Rome!

Very good welcome. Very pretty rooms on a very good located apartment. I will thus recomend this place for the quiet, beautiful room and the location in Roma. Moreover, Shuttle bus from the airport arrives just at the corner in Cavour Square, which is very convenient. Even if bathroom was outside our room, it was a private one, meaning that only us were using it. Room was cleaned everyday, a computer with internet access is available and we had very good information from the team. Thus a very good address to stay in Rome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Antiqua Roma. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and relaxed. The room was very clean and spacious, and was made up every day. Enrico was a terrific host and offered great advice when asked, we ate at a fabulous local restaurant he recommended; The Bernenetta, which is a 3 minute stroll away. Recommend this restaurant if you want to eat like a local with the locals. Location is perfect, we walked everywhere without any problems. we had en suite and the bathroom was spotless and plenty big. Good shower too. If we were to go back to Rome we would definitely stay here again and will recommend it highly to anyone as a great value, very central and safe, charming and comfortable place to unwind after a hard day schlepping all over beautiful Rome.

Fantastic location with the Vatican, Piazza Navona and the Spanish Steps all within a 10 minute walk. There is a cafe/bar next door call Lunch where you can get coffee and croissants for less than 5 euros and they also do a Happy Hour buffet with a drink from 6pm for 6 euros which is also great value. Very nice bed and breakfast, located between the Vatican and the old city so you can walk everything. The owner is very friendly and helpful. You're supposed to arrive before 9PM but since our plane only landed at 8h40PM we could never make this so they decided to wait for us. We received a discount for the first three nights because we had to stay in a rather noisy room. The last three nights we moved to a better room. Take a good look at your reservation confirmation because breakfast isn't always included. However, since there are two excellent lunchrooms nearby, this wasn't a problem for us.

The apartment was well maintained, with a live in house keeper. This was useful when picking up the keys, as there is usually someone in. The surrounding area was quiet, very central and felt safe at night. On google maps ‘street view’ the road and surrounding buildings look like they are undergoing repair works. However, I was glad to see, this is not the case anymore. We visited during the week that the Icelandic volcano erupted. Enrico was very helpful and supported us finding new travel arrangements and printing new tickets, without charge. We also made use of the hotels free (but slow) internet connection. I had been worried about staying at apartments and B&Bs over hotels before this trip. However, It was a really good experience. I recommend it.

Stayed in the private double room with it's own bathroom, but the bathroom was in the hallway outside the room. This hotel was a great place to stay, the owner was very nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean and it was centrally located to everything. Easy to walk to all the touristy spots and lots of local restaurants in the area. Wifi is available for free as well as a laptop that was available for use by everyone in the hallway. We were in Italy to meet a group of friends, one of which is an event planner who had our entire trip basically planned out for us so we didn't need advise on sightseeing but there were lots of tour books available to be used. There was not a central "hang out" room so if you are looking to meet other travelers at this location you probably won't. For us it was perfect... we could come and go as we pleased and we just needed a nice clean place to stay. I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again!

We had a great time staying at AntiquaRoma. Encrio was a great guy - very helpful and friendly and spoke perfect English. The location is fantastic, nothing is more than about 30-40 minutes walk, we never used public transport during our stay. And the area feels very safe. Some spots we walked too felt a bit more run down but ours was great. Rough walking timings below… Spanish steps – 10 minutes Vatican – 15 minutes Coliseum – other end of town but only about 35 minutes walk – and you see great things on the way The room was very well laid out and comfortable – no issues there at all. Shower good etc and you even had access to a laptop with internet if you wished. Overall couldn’t fault it really – highly recommended. One thing – do NOT eat at a local pizzeria with an orange Pizzeria sign close to the hotel – it was truly the worst meal we have ever had, couldn’t quite believe how bad it was. But for an amazing meal, I recommend Vivendo. p.s. beware when travelling to the hotel – there is another hotel in Rome called Antica Roma – so make sure you make it clear to your taxi driver which you’re staying at – we didn’t to our detriment.

For a B & B this place was amazing, nicer than some hotels I’ve stayed in, very clean and the location was perfect and situated in the nicer/safer part of the city, the longest walk was to the coliseum which was about 20/30 minutes but with plenty to look at on the way. The Vatican is the closest with a 5-minute walk if that to St Peters Square, Trevi fountain is about 15/20 minutes away and Spanish steps about 10/15 minutes (taxi's are very expensive in Rome so avoid if you can) The B & B owner Enrico was great, really friendly and very helpful, the only downside was the lady that worked there all the time spoke no English so communication was impossible when Enrico was not around, in an emergency this would be a disaster(ignorant British people expecting everyone to speak English I suppose). I would recommend this place to anyone and when I return to Rome (which I will 1 day) I will return to this B & B.

The man who hosted us (Enrico) was really helpful, assisting us to find an additional night of accommodation; with info on hairdressers, breakfast bars and with all general enquires. I would make an effort to stay again should I return to Rome. I was grateful for his genuine efforts in helping me.

Enrico and his assistant Olga were genuinely warm and welcoming, offering every assistance. We felt right at home in this calm oasis amidst the hubbub of Rome. This is a perfect spot for adult singles or couples. We were able to see most sights by foot, and there is a bus stop and a taxi stand within a couple of blocks. I would suggest that if you are a light sleeper, taking some ear plugs, in case you get one of the street side rooms, which can be noisy at night.

The AntiquaRoma is well situated for visitng the major sites of Rome by foot or by bus. The hotel is well appointed and Enrico is most helpful. We did not take breakfast in the hotel, but there is a cafe conveniently situated for early morning food. The shower was slightly small and unfortunately there was building work opposite which meant that there was some noise early in the morning, although this did not spoil our stay.

What a wonderful experience! My 4th time in Rome, and the best accommodations so far. Spacious room, spotlessly clean, friendly staff and SUPERB location for walking about the highlights of Rome. An adjacent apartment in the building was undergoing renovations, so it was quite noisy from construction work. Bring some earplugs and enjoy a great stay in Antiqua Roma B&B.

We had a great stay in B&B Antiqua Roma and we will recommend the place to everybody. Enrico - the host - is very friendly and helpful and he speaks english very well. Our room was spacious and very, very clean. We had an ensuite bathroom in our room, which was important for us. Every morning we had breakfast in the room with bread (italian!), butter, jam, cheese, coffee, the and juice... The location is terrific... close to the center of Rome(Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Trevi, Piazza Navona etc.)and to the Vatican State... We never used the bus or metro, we walked to all the attractions... But even though it's close to the center, it's very quite, which is nice after a long day. We had a fantastic stay in Rome and there is no doubt, that we will come back... and at that time we surely will stay in Antiqua Roma again:-)

We received a warm welcome by Enrico and he was very helpful in getting around Rome. THe room was small however had all the space we needed. Our bathroom was private but separate, we did not mind. Plus we received a disount due to the bathroom not being in the room. This hotel was clean and in a good location (30 min walk to the Colosseum). It was noisy outside however that is part of Rome not the hotel.

My visit at AntiquaRoma was quite pleasant.I agree with the others below about most of the things. The situation is absolutely great. As a Scandinavian, the breakfast was too sweet for me - croissants, peanutbutter , sweet cakes, dry bread...nothing salty or fruits etc. But that doesn't have to be any problem, there are good coffeehops all over surrondings.

Our 5 night stay at Antiqua Roma was a pleasure. Enrico was most helpful in assisting us with internet access, directions and airport transfers. The place is modern and well furnished...lots of space. Located out of the hustle and bustle of touristy Rome, in a fantastic trendy spot, 15 mins walk to Spanish Steps. Excellent coffee shop downstairs, and patisserie and local trattorias nearby.

Enrico was very nice and helpful, allowing us to check in at 11 AM, which was great because it allowed us to sleep off our jet lag right away. The room and bathroom were very clean and quite spacious, with an excellent window that blocked out the street noise quite well. The location is very convenient for seeing the sights in Rome as almost everything in the core of the city is within 20-25 minute walk. The metro stop (Lepanto) is about a 10 minute walk north. There is an elevator to help you with your luggage. There is also a shared computer for internet access.

Very Nice B&B overall. Excellent location to visit Rome either by foot or by buses (many bus lines stop within 200m of the B&B) We stayed in 2 different rooms during our week in Rome : The first one had a nice bathroom located outside the room in the main corridor. The room was quite small and noisy with street circulation. Enrico had warned us about the external bathroom and had offered a discount during the reservation process. The second room was nicer, larger, better sound proofed from the street (double glassed windows)and included the bathroom. Only The shower was too small : Washing was like "Tai Chi" in a phone booth ! We mistakenly did not book breakfast ("double bed only" means "no breakfast", I thought it meant that there was no other bed in the room...) but we had no problem finding a place in rome to drink hot chocolate and eat pastries....

There are many different types of rooms at AntiquaRoma. We were lucky enough to secure a room at the back of the hotel with a bathroom. This meant that we avoided the loud street noise mentioned by other contributors. There was still a bit of noise with people coming an going through the night but not enough to upset our sleep too much. The room was generously sized and the bathroom well appointed. The location couldn't have been better and we'd choose to stay in this area again, regardless of the hotel. We read about how previous guests had really warmed to Enrico (the manager) and we can see why. On our way out on the last day, we noticed that someone had even left a small gift by his door. We'd definately stay at this property again but only if we could get the same room.

Our stay at AntiquaRoma was great. Enrico was very kind and wonderful, he even deducted 5 euro from the price of our stay because we did not have breakfast one of the mornings. Also, my fiancé sprained his ankle while we were in Rome, and Enrico was kind and looked after us, even gave us an ankle wrap and some pain medicine. The area is great, very safe and close to everything. We walked to all of the sites (before the ankle sprain) and asked Enrico to fetch us taxis after that. Also, there is a fantastic tour bus, I think it is called Ten, and it's a double decked red bus. It stops at/ or near most of the sites of interest (and buses went around all day about every 15 minutes). After the ankle sprain, and still wishing to see Rome, Enrico suggested it-- It was only 12 Euro per person, and you could hop on and off the whole day. The stop is just down the street from AntiquaRoma, which was excellent given the bad ankle. We had a private bathroom, but separate from the room. It was always very clean, although a small shower--I say this only as fact, not a complaint. We expected this of European bathrooms and encountered it in all of the cities we traveled. The room was the most spacious that we stayed in throughout Italy, and as I mentioned, the location was fantastic. I was even more impressed by the fact that we were able to book with AntiquaRoma 3 days before our arrival in Rome. Our original hotel informed us that we would need to spend two of our nights in a different place (which was not acceptable), so we canceled that reservation and booked with AntiquaRoma. Enrico was very fast with confirmation, and explained the details of the room, bathroom, and gave us great directions for finding the place. I suggest you communicate with ALL hotels/B&Bs/ etc., prior to heading out! We would have been VERY unpleasantly surprised if we stayed at the other hotel in Rome. Overall, it was fantastic. The lady (I cannot remember her name) was very kind and kept th

AntiquaRoma is a great place to stay. Vatican City, Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Piazza Navona are all about 15 minutes walking distance. The bus stop is just down the street. The room was very nice. Bigger than most European rooms, with tall ceilings, and you can tell it was recently renovated. The bathroom was new and very clean. Our room had a balcony, which was also very nice. Enrico (owner) is very friendly and speaks excellent English. He helped us find our way to a couple of sights and told us exactly how to get to the B&B when we arrived in Rome. Beware that breakfast is not included in the price, but that didn't bother us because after 2 weeks, we were tired of the European coffee-and-bland-pastry breakfasts. There are grocery stores nearby and you can pick up fresh fruit and whatever else you want for breakfast. Our only gripe is that of the five places we stayed in Europe, this one had the most stiff beds--I could tolerate it but my wife didn't sleep well on them. Other folks complained about street noise, but we didn't have any problems with that. There was some noise but not enough to really complain. We had an enjoyable stay and would stay at AntiquaRoma again. Thanks Enrico!

We were very happy with our at AntiquaRoma. We did not receive a very warm welcome as the owner had been trying to email us regarding our time of arrival and was quite short with us. We had been traveling and not reachable and were happy to wait for our room when we arrived a bit early. He was very helpful, however in arranging transportation to the airport for a very early morning flight. It was a nice experience to stay there and convenient to places of interest.

ideally situated to all major attractions no more than 20 minutes walk anywhere.Only 50 m from the River which is great for an evening walk on the way to dinner. Shower was tiny and hard to get into only complaint. No kettle or bar fridge.Rooms were not actually in Trastevere but Prati with few resturants/shops close by. Close to bus links and taxi rank only 100m a way so getting around was no problem. Would recommend staying in this hotel as it is a great base to explore Rome and not that expensive.

We had a truly great stay at Antiqua Roma. The rooms were spacious, clean, quiet (!) and the bathroom was newly renovated.
