Massimo was so helpful and welcoming. His English was functional, which was really nice. Me and a friend stayed for 3 nights and had no complaints. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was typical Italian--espresso and a cornetto or toast. Great locale in terms of getting around the city. Termini is just a few blocks away and the Vittorio Emmanuele metro can take you right to city center. Would definitely recommmend to anyone looking for an inexpensive stay in Rome.

My girlfriend and I stayed here our first 2 nights in Italy. The host was welcoming when we arrived and allowed for an early checkin. Like other B&Bs in Italy, it is located in a building, which made it a bit tricky to find initially (you must look for their name on the door bell list). Location is convenient near Termini station.

We spend four days in AmoRoma. We slept in the room with private bathroom (location: Napoleon). pluses: - big, clean bedroom and bathroom - kitchen open for guests - location near important places (Coloseum, Termini) minuses: - lack of breakfasts on a second and third day of our stay - windows are not hermetic

Perfectly located near train station Roma Termini Massimo & Claudia gave me a very warm welcome. During my three days stay in "AmoRoma" I felt very fine. A big room in a lovely appartment that was formed to a small hotel with a good self service breakfast ... I had nothing to complain about ...

I spent here a night because of a business trip. The apartment and its rooms are styleless and not acoustically isolated, it's made of 3 bedrooms without bathroom, 2 shared bathroom and kitchen. The most terrible surprise was for breakfast since in the refrigerator I found 2 already opened tetra-packs: milk and juice. I drank tap water. I don't recommend the coffe. I also had a choice of 2 little very dirty pots to warm milk. No bread, no salty dishes, some inedibile corn-flaks, broken old cookies. I did the only acceptable choice: honey with rusks.

We stayed in Via Nepoleone, nice room on the 3rd floor. Very clean rooms with private bath. The bed was done, too -really surprising. The breakfast was very good to, with flakes, marmalade, butter, toast, and espresso :-). The location is perfect, it was our 2nd stay in rome and the b+b is so close to the termini, what the center of the metro-lines is. So 5 minutes and you're in termini, another 5 minutes an you are directly in front of the colloseum or spagna. Great. I really like to come back!

The "continental breakfast" offered consisted of all packed stuff. Nothing fresh :-( It was a little difficult to find the b&b, because there is no sign, only "Amoroma" written at the bell. Perhaps good for security... Good, located 500 m from Termini train station. Do not expect silence if you want to sleep with open windows in a room facing the street in summer! The streets have a rough pavement and traffic is busy also at night in Rome.

1- The owner smokes all the time and you smell the cigarette smoke day and night all over the unit. 2- The owner can not communicate in English at all, maybe 5%. Needs big improvement. 3- The wi-fi reception very poor in the rooms. We tried resetting the modem and other possibilities along with the owner for no avail. The modem needs to be replaced with a newer model. 4- The breakfast was not continental. Butter and jam is not good enough. 5- Two kids live in one of the rooms and they have their TV on loudly all the time. They are up and noisy up until 1 am or later.

This B&B is very close to Termini station - 10 min walk. Location was great as we could walk to the Colosseum and back. Easy access to train to get to all the major attractions. It was difficult to find the hotel at first, as the building doesn't have name of the hotel on it but once you get to Via Rattazzi, look for building number 2 and then ring the bell for F. It is a very basic Bed & Breakfast. Bianco was a very good host. He upgraded our room at no extra charge to one with an attached toilet as the one without the attached toilet was not as good as this one. We left our luggage their after check-out as we went to Vatican City. We felt that it was noisy at night. Good for the price.

The hosts were indifferent at best and generally surly and rude. The room was clean enough, but very small and dark. We had to put our used TP in a trash can. Ick. The street noise was very loud. But, it was nice and close to the RR station and within easy walking distance of the Colliseum.

As first time visitors to Rome, we booked our accommodation through the internet. We found Amoroma's facilities good, self-help breakfast very good and the position as far as public transport is concerned convenient, but the surrounding area is not what we expected. We have since learned that the area around Termini station is not very inviting, but it is still ok if affordability is an issue, and if a one night stay is all that is required. Wish the facility was better signposted as it was a bit of a problem finding the entrance!

Amoroma doesn't offer rooms with bath. Therefore the owner gave us a room with bath in an other b&b close to Amoroma, which was quite ok though it didn't offer much space. So staying there for relaxing a little bit wasn't very comfortable.

This was my first stay at the Amoroma, indeed my first stay in Rome! The property was easy to ind once we orientated ourselves. I checked for 2 Via Rattazzi on Google earth before leaving home - it worked well, by going to street view I could virtually walk my wy from the Termini station to the front door. But be aware that if arriving, as we did, from Fiumicino on the Leonardo Express you exit the station half way down it's length onto the Via Giovanni Giolitti opposite Via Mamiani. I used the graffiti as a guide, there is a destinctive 'motif' on the wall of No 2! Massimo was both very hospitable and very welcoming, eager to be of assistance with information. It has been mentioned that he speaks little English let me tell you, his English is better than my Italian. Rooms adequate for a short stay, not too far from the tube or the transport links at Termini. My sister and I had double rooms as single occupancy and were comfortable enough. Bottom line - would I return to Amoroma? Sure will. Thanks Massimo.

the hotel does not have a sign at street level other than the button to push to ring the attendant at the front door. You have to consider where you are when you rate price/value. The hotel is within walking distance of many of Rome's sites and very close to a metro subway station and the Rome termini. our stay was without incident and we were given help when ever we asked. this is a very good value. we would stay at this hotel again.

Would recommend it. Massimo is very helpful and on arrival gave us a tourist map with the main sights marked and also information on the busses. Amoroma is not difficult to find. From Termini head to Ratazzi and walk down to almost the furthest end of it. It is in building 2f and the name Amoroma is marked on the doorbell. Massimo was there every morning from 8am for breakfast. It was a basic cereal, tea/coffee, toast, croissant breakfast. Room was clean and quiet and there were 2 toilets shared between I think 4 rooms. A shower in one and a bath in the other. They were clean but the water varied between warm and hot during the shower and with out very high pressure. Location is good as it is also next to a undergound station. You pay €1 per journey on bus/train or tram but you can get a €4 day ticket or I think it was €11 for 3 days which are both great value if you are going to do a any amount of traveling around the city. I would recommend Amoroma as a good base for exploring Rome. It is not overly expensive in an expensive city and it is clean and you should get a good night's sleep.

Negatives: wallpaper coming off wall, no dark drapes to sleep in late, the TV was not operable.

But he didn't show up. 2. There is an railway near the B&B so it is noisy when you sleep. 3. There is a kitchen but you can't use it because it can't work. 4. There is no air conditioning. It will be hot in summer. 5. The host can't speak English well. It's hard to communicate with him. The advantage is that it is near the rail station and subway station.

We were met at the front door as the owner/manager was looking out for us. We had a big drive from Amalfi and were exhausted when we arrived. The owner/manager was lovely, his english was not perfect but was so friendly and went out of his way to offer Rome advice which was very helpful even though we had been to Rome before. The location is especially great, it is so close to the Rome train station and walking distance to local bus and hop on hop off bus. The room was tight for 4 of us but that has been the norm through Europe. A friendly helpful experience is more important than an extra star rating on the hotel.

Amoroma is in a good location. It is near the train terminal and the colosseum. There are a few varieties of food to choose from for breakfast, and the food is plentiful. Nevertheless, the hotel is extremely difficult to find. For awhile, my family thought that it might not exist. There are no signs anywhere except for a business card on the doorbell. When we did find the bed and breakfast, I was surprised that there was no reception area or even a reception desk. Also, Amoroma's two bathrooms are communal and none of the appliances, for instance the television and refrigerator, are in working order. The comforter was extremely stiff and uncomfortable, and even though the place was supposed to be smoke-free, it definitely was not. However, the host was very hospitable and will answer any questions you may have to the best of his ability (he does not speak much English but is very good with hand gestures). Overall, the price does not correlate with the quality of the stay and I would not recommend it.

Conveniently located to train station - about a 10 minute walk. 5 minutes to metro stop. The room simple and nice; there were two shared bathrooms for 3 rooms. The breakfast was self-serve and more than most hotels in Rome. As with many places in Rome, street traffic is noisy. But the main noise came from other people trying to lock and unlock their doors with the old-fashioned keys and tricky locks.

Very nice place stay. Rooms are very clean and lovely. Breakfast is all right. Termini is just 10 far by walk, and the other station is just 2 minutes by walk. Is not very easy to find the place, but if you know the adress its fine. The only thing what I didn't like a lot, that it's on the 4 floor, and the elevator is not working, but actually it's really not a big deal. I would recommend this accomodation for everyone, who wants a cheap, and nice place to stay in Rom

We loved our stay. Great location and wonderful owner and cleaning person. Close yet far enough from the train terminal. Could have had a better street presence in order to be certain that the building was the correct place, but the number of the address is clearly stated on the building. Inexperienced traveler might be confused locating the place. Very clean, quiet, basic appointments yet entirely sufficient. The place added to the pleasure of our experience visiting for the first time Roma. Grazie e arrivederci

Great place for a quick rome-antic weekend getaway! We found Rome really expensive but are happy to say Amoroma is well priced, extremely clean and comfortable, well located, secure and friendly. Room was a little on the noisy side due to location on a busy corner, so take earplugs. Trying to get in touch with the owners before our arrival was very difficult, but once we were there everything was great and we would recommend it. Just don't fly Alitalia... what a debacle.

This B&B was located well. The facility was well maintained. The breakfast was average, but the kitchen area was very nice.

What a rip off!!! Do not stay here! We stayed at two other B&B while in Italy for the same price and had a much higher quality of facilities and service....Very disappointed.

We stayed at Amoroma Online for 4 nights and found it to be a pleasant stay. It was very good value for money, even though the breakfast wasn't great (that didn't particularly bother us though). The owner was very hospitable and although he couldn't speak English well he provided us with any information we required. I've read some reviews on other sites saying that the area near the train station was not the safest, but after staying there we had no problems. It's not the most picteresque of places, but in a capital city what do you expect? Totally recommend it for a bargain weekend break!

We enjoyed our stay here. It was not in the best location, but was very close to the train station. Clean, decent breakfast, and the staff was friendly. Didn't speak a lot of English but it was fine. We would probably stay here again. Good for the price.

Excellent location in quiet spot very close to Metro, very good value for money, proprietor very communicative and cooperative, air conditioning very effective and quiet during hot summer period. Some minor improvements in the bathrooms would make it even better.

I did not have a positive experience at Amoroma Hotel. During August, the heat was unbearable and the hotel didn't have air conditioning. The shower had little to no water pressure and the breakfast was far from yummy.

There was only one hard thing - to locate the address. There is no label on the building and the bell is pretty poorly labeled. But the rest was OK. The facility is the flat of four rooms, two bathrooms, hall and one kitchen where breakfast is served. This means that bathrooms as well as the common space are shared by inhabitants of all four rooms. This fact was not stated at the web page. The surroundings is not very clean and the traffic can be disturbing. But overall it is good value for money.

Nice little place. Breakfast area not very roomy, however always ready as per set time. Cleaning services did not provide soap in bathroom, but overall cleanliness was good. The one big inconvenience was that there was only one person responsible in the B&B and if you could not find him, your needs were not attended. But general compliance on staff's part was very friendly and serviceable. Be careful, particularly in early morning or late night if you have a departure planned, plan a meeting time with responsible coordinator when you first meet or pay upon entrance or else you will have a hard time finding them and might miss your train as we saw happen to other occupants at the time of our stay. Walking distance from train station, very convenient. Massimo was very accomodating and attended our needs to the fullest, even offering us a room with private bathroom.

The web page said there would be an internetplug. I was in Rome for work and really looked for a place with internet connection to be able to work (on my own laptop). There was no internetplug, and Massimo seemed surprised that I asked for it and counted on it. In this kind of situations it's a bit difficult that he doesn't speak English very well. In the end he offered me to use his internet twice, which was really kind of him, but not what I expected when booking. For holiday purposes this is a really nice place: conveniently close to the metro, not too far out of the city centre, supermarket around the corner, relatively low priced and I even had my own roofterrace. Not suitable for anybody with problems to climb at least 4 stairs, as the elevator didn't work on 4 out of the 5 days I staid.

room is spacious but didnt realise - no attached bathroom - not mentioned in website. owner is friendly but very little english. no A/C and its boiling hot fan - very small. breakfast average but remind you that he wont arrive till 8AM and the day we have to leave he came at 8.30 so we missed the train. Too Bad. overall goodpoints is - friendly chap, spacious room, near to attractions and termini(main station). bad points - detached bathroom, no living room, poor breakfast, no reciept for amount you pay, if you have other inmates who are noisy your holiday is spoiled. for another 10 euros you get attached bathroom and similar rooms around, also no hotel name outside. have to call the guy to pick you up.

Very clean, very good breakfast if you compare to Italian standard. Confirm directly your arrival time to the host. Otherwise it could be, that you have to wait until door i opened. Entrance of the house gives no hint to the B&B (only the name at the bell) If you are sensitive to the morning traffic, ask for backside room or keep window closed.

Host was very nice and helpful , although as he was full we had to wait nearly an hour one morning for our breakfast due to there being no room in the kitchen/dining room. On looking around Rome we found much better accomodation including ensuite and breakfast for the same price.

We traveled as a couple in forties. Mr Massimo isn't great at English but that didn't matter because he had enough to make us feel truly welcome and explain the local area, public transport and attractions, explain the odd window latch and then left us to it - real professional and real friendly. We rate him in our top three hosts (of 12 properties on this trip, the others were 5 star hotels). Tip of the day is to get to the Termini and call him on his cell phone as he has two properties (3 rooms in the one we were at) and it saves time wandering around looking at building numbers like a tourist! Area is a little scrubby near the termini but very handy once you figured out where to go. Nice, newly refurbished room with bathroom, however if you're over 120 kg you might struggle to get through the shower door. Nice shared breakfast area with self service B/F was a relief after a hard day touristing and we found a super market and cheap restaurants within about three blocks of the property so had lots of value options to choose from. Great value, the Picketts will be back Massimo!

The Amoroma is very near to the Termini station and easily accessible to all sorts of public transportation. By day, it is in a busy center of ethnic commerce. My husband and I felt comfortable walking here in either day or evening. The Amoroma is a bit hard to locate. It is on the fourth floor of a residential building, and you must locate and push the buzzer to get in. There is an elevator that will accomodate two people and their luggage comfortably. We arrived just before noon and were welcomed cheerfully, and escorted to our spacious, spotlessly clean room, even though it was before normal check in time. The high ceilings and shuttered windows made for a cool room even when temperatures got a bit warm. Breakfast included juice, coffee, cereal, rolls, and toast. Our room included a mini fridge, which was perfect for cool drinks. Guests are multi-national. It makes for very interesting breakfast conversation. This was a wonderful place to stay and a very good price for Rome.

Only stayed a day because we were catching a cruise the next day. Emailed the manager that we will not be arriving until 8:00 pm that night and he was right there waiting for us upon our arrival. As some has mentioned, the hotel is hard to find, but overall, the facility is very clean and we had a spacious room for the price. The hotel is just a short walk from the Termini station. Massimo, the manager, was very helpful, showed us were we can have a good Italian dinner and even kept our baggages for us the next day while we did some sightseeing. We will stay there again next time we visit Rome. We highly recommend the place.

The owner was very nice and helpful. The room was big and clean but they could paint the walls. Although you don't have a bathroom in your room, there are two very clean ones just outside the room so it's no big deal. All the rooms except for one were occupied yet we didn't have to wait once for the bathroom (we were 2 adults 2 kids). It's also at a walking distance from the main tourist attractions.

Great value B&B in an expensive city. We enjoyed a room on the 6th floor with our own private roof terrace which was just perfect. Located a few minutes walk from the main train station which is fantastic when coming in from the airport on the direct line. Also has a metro stop literally on the corner with links to all main attractions around the city. All attractions are within walking distance (albeit a good walk!). I would recommend going to Trastevere as this area is fabulous for bars and pizzerias in the evenings at a reasonable price.

Everything was fine, easy to reach, friendly. Bathroon and shower-room, each with toilet, shared by four rooms. Kitchen at little small, but flexible breakfast arrangements. Good for exploring Rome, if you're prepared to walk a little. Metro and buses very close. Use the southern side entrance to Termini (closest to hotel)! I recommend the Roma Pass for travelling in Rome.
