Raefaella went out of his way to help us with places to see, eat, drink, organise our transport and advise on public transport. His English is impeccable and nothing was too much trouble. The situation is excellent - close to Vatican City, restaurants, pubs, buses and hop on hop off tour buses. It's good value for money and we whole heartedly recommend it.

We spent 3 days, and if you are planning to stay at the surroundings of San Pietro, Vatican or Trastevere, this is the best choice you can make. Eventhough if your activities are in downtown Rome, there are good transportation alternatives available. For sure, next time in Rome I will choose this B&B again.

Only 2-3 blocks from the Vatican you couldn't ask for a better location. The owners are the most codial inn keepers you will ever find and go out of their way to assist you in everything. They even act as bellboys which is good as there is a flight of stairs to maneuver. The room is small and the shower could have been better. Small inconviences for a great location and nice nice owners.

We had a very pleasant stay. Very kind and helpful owners. The B&B is located in a quiet street just behind the walls of the Vatican. Breakfast was fine with fresh rolls, yoghurt, juice, coffee/tea, milk and cereals. Sometimes fruit or pastry. The place has no balcony or garden but that didn't matter for us as we were the whole day out in Rome. Very good and nice restaurant just around the corner: perdincibacco. Alessandro III is a safe haven in busy Rome.

The B&B is within easy walking distance from St Peter's and a number of other historical landmarks. The proprietor, Raffaele, was a most gracious and accommodating host throughout our stay - and he has a very good command of English. He arranged our travel from and to the FCO airport (saving us both money and hassles) and was a great source of helpful information on local attractions and customs. Our room was on the interior of the building and away from the street and was cosy, quiet, clean, and comfortable. We would be delighted to stay there again in the future.

An amazing place to stay! Raphael was most gracious, the rooms were superb, great continental breakfast and great location! Just a few minutes from the Vatican, we walked to the colosseum (long but a wonderful way to see Rome), we walked to Trevoli fountain and also to the pantheon...great location! Only one complaint, Raphael, the owner, is a smoker and the smell did get to me a bit...but tolerable for the great value!

Great accommodation near to the Vatican. We were made very welcome even before we arrived! Raffaelle contacted us before our stay and helped to arrange an airport transfer which was a lovely personal touch. Really clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent value. Local bars and restaurants were only a short walk away. We would certainly recommend staying here and hope to when we visit Rome again. Fabulous! Note that the only reason for giving the one lower score is because there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, which we were hoping for and the fridge is available as a shared resource between those staying.

Excellent location just a few minutes from St Peter's. Slightly noisy surroundings but easily blocked out with ear plugs. Beds were very comfortable and air conditioning efficient. Breakfast was not very inspiring but adequate and owners were happy to get up really early to prepare everything for an early departure. Owners will help you with anything you need regarding your stay or leave you to your own devices - it's up to you. For the price, this is a good little B&B to be based in.

This B&B is basic, but very accommodating. It is very close to the Vatican and bus lines. While we never met our host, his father was wonderful and helpful. We stayed at this quaint B&B for the last part of our Italian vacation. This is your typical B&B. It has everything sensible for a young, and early mature couple. There are restaurants in the neighbourhood, although they cater mostly to the tourist crowds visiting the nearby attractions (St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican Museums, and Castel Sant'Angelo). Walking distance is Piazza Navona, and Tratevere areas. Parking is minimal, and hit-and-miss. Not an issue with us as we returned the rental car at the start of our Rome vacation (having travelled south from the Alps). We picked up the Roma Pass and used it to get into most of the museums, and other attractions. Well worth the money. The B&B Alessandro III is a little hidden and down several one way streets. It's nestled into a residential area, a block from the main southern Vatican wall, and a short walk to restaurants, gelaterie, and a small convenience store (for day-to-day goods). Not noisy at all, although the building can be with other guests and residents. Not a major issue. A/C worked; breakfast was just right (light fare), and the host - 100% committed to making your stay memorable and unforgettable. Thanks to Giuliano for the extra advice, recommendations, and on our last night, a great trip to Villa D'Este to see the magnificent fountains at night. Not a single complaint about the place, It's a B&B - clean, efficient, and comfortable.

We were welcomed and given a comprehensive tour of the room, facilities etc. The location was good, easy access to the Vatican and can walk to central areas within 30 minutes, with lots of sights/restaurants etc to see on the way. Only thing we didn’t like was the noise from outside the hotel that kept us awake - especially bin men at 6am! If travelling from Campiano airport, would recommend using the travel recommendations from the hotel - taking a bus to Anagnina station (1.2 euros) then metro to Ottaviano (1 euro for 75 mins travel) then walk (10 mins) to the hotel.

The owners of the B&B were very helpful with reservations and information regarding touristic questions. Also we could use internet for free. The breakfast was typically Italian (Coffee/Tee & Sweets) but it also included yoghurt and cereals. Morevoer, the guests have the possibility to use the fridge. We spent 10 beautiful days in Rome.Choosing Alessandro III was complete hit. St.Peter's church is just across the street, but entrance to Vatican Museums is on the opposite side.Possibly that is why area around pension is calm and clean.Around the corner is bus stop for No 64 which is very frequent and good connection to heart of Rome passing through Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. 300 m away at the end Via delle Fornaci there is big supermarket which is open on Sunday also. Pension is settled on the first flor old,but nice building. It has three guest rooms with new furnitures, each with TWC.They change towels every day and bed clothes every three days.It is good idea to confirm booking with Mr Raffaele few days before departure and ask him to arrange taxi which cost 35€.Do not waste energy, there are so much to see in Rome.

Very pleasant stay in Rome over 3 nights, bookending a 7 night stay in Tuscany. Used both their B&B and apartment. B&B rooms pretty standard, comfortable but not fancy, good value. The breakfast was coffee, juices, yogurt, rolls/baked goods. Unfortunately no espresso/cappucino which my wife and I really missed. The major plus was the attentiveness and assistance of Raffaele, the onsite manager. He helped us with restaurants and directions, and arranged rides to and from Fiumicino airport. Showed us where, arguably, to get the best gelato in Rome. It was pretty darned good. He went out of his way to assist us in getting our rental car back to the Termini by leading us thru busy Saturday Rome traffic on his Vespa. We will very likely stay here again on our next Rome visit

You can easily walk to all sites in Rome and for the less active, you will be a block away from one of the main bus routes. The place is spotlessly clean, very comfortable, with a good bed, and all sorts of little touches to make the stay nice. There is a free computer with internet for use. The service is wonderful with no help being too much (from information to umbrellas for a rainy day, to early breakfasts, and chocolates in your room!), while not being too much or obtrusive. It is a very quiet location within literally 1 block from Vatican, and several busses and metro to the center. We were so close to Vatican, that we passed the St. Pieter's square at least a couple of times a day on our way to the city! We walked to the center and Trastevere (15-40 min walk, depending on the location). Also being so close to Vatican made it easy to be there early to avoid the huge crows for the Vatican museum. We would definetely stay there again, and can't wait for our next visit to Rome, which is overwhelming.

When we had trouble with the wireless connection, they went out of their way to make our internet connection work. Breakfast was varied and thankfully was more than the usual sweet stuff. Considering that the March temperatures were exceptionally cold this year it was nice to come "home" to a warm and welcoming place. As it was our first time, when we booked our stay via internet, we were a little bit afraid first, didn't know what to expect. However, our stay at B&B Alessandro III (which is also known as B&B Rome4You) was the best we could expect from a place in the heart of Rome! Raffaele and his uncle were very nice and kind to us. The location is also excellent, only a few steps from the St. Peter's Square.:) Very good restaurants, cafes nearby. Public transport is excellent and easy to reach everything. Raffaele helped us in where to go and to see during our stay. We would definetly return to this place and would recommend it to everybody. Thank you again for everything, Raffaele! :)

We were very pleased with Alessandro III B & B. The staff was all wonderful, going out of their way to help us in any way. They are what made our stay in Rome so enjoyable. The location was excellent, just around the corner from the Vatican. Many sights were an easy walk and catching the bus to further away sights was easy. Definitely four thumbs up!!!

We stayed for 4 nights. This B&B is highly recommended because of the excellent location, close to all the interesting places. a few minutes walking distance from the vatican, 15 minutes from the restaurant area. Very pleasant people run the place. The owner speaks English fluently. We will be back, some day.

We spent four nights in Rome staying at Alessandro III (which is also known as BBRome4U). The B&B was lovely. The rooms were clean and comfy, breakfast was generous and the owner was very helpful. The B&B is very close to St Peter's Square and many other sites are within walking distance, although there is a bus stop close as well and the public transport in Rome is very good. We would recommend this B&B and would stay there again if we're ever back in Rome.

We arrived late at night after having to change our taxi pickup time due to a flight cancellation. Raphael was very obliging and met us at the door with a warm smile and helpful advice. Our room was very spacious and clean, comfortable bed, the bathroom was more than adequate and the location of the B&B perfect for seeing the Vatican and joining the Hop On and Hop Off Bus near the Vatican - just a few minutes walk. Trains and buses are also within close vicinity of the B&B. Raphael also recommended a cafe nearby (there are several) and we obtained a discount for mentioning his name. The B&B also has free internet access from a dedicated guest computer. I would recommend this B&B to everyone wanting a clean comfortable, quiet location and close to transport and the Vatican.

Room is nice and clean. Location is safe and excellent, very close to Vatican. The owner and his nephew were so nice and caring. We left very early on the last day, i.e. 6:30am, the owner prepared the breadfast for us when we were still asleep. At 6:00am, fresh bread and hot coffee were prepared. (Breadfast usually starts at 7:30am)

Rafael and Juliano were great hosts, they went out of thier way to make us comfortable and, they were some of the nicest people we met in Italy. The B & B is located in an ideal place to visit the Vatican. There is an underground walk way right around the corner from the B & B which takes you directly to St. Peter's Square. The location also has plenty of places to eat and even a laundry within walking distance, where you can have your clothes laundered. There is also a bus stop around the corner and across the street which takes you to the center of Rome in about 10 mins. We also enjoyed the breakfast especially the warm milk for your cereal. I would definitely stay here again!

This B&B is such a nice place to stay in Roma, we couldn't believe our luck to have found it. Nice, clean, beautifull spaces. Modern reno and deco in an original setting. Our beds were clean and confortable, made each day. the room was spacious, with modern furniture (including flat screen) to contrast with big old windows, high ceilings, wood floors. Clean bathroom with all the commodities. We had free access to computer and high speed internet. The breakfast was served in the next room, here again well decorated, clean, with extra care to details in food, dishes, colors and variety. We were close to historic center, being able to walk to touristic circuit. We reached by foot the Coliseum, the Capitol, the Plazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori, the Spanish stairs, the Trevi fountain and of course, the Vatican, whicj is just around the corner. But most of all, we received a warm welcome and personnalized, affectionnate service. Again with attention to details we didn't even know we needed. keeping our luggage the last day but also offering us a towel to freshen up before leaving. Offering the directios and two bus tickets to reach the train station, since "it's way to close and easy reach for you to take a taxi"! Helpfull, carring, going beyond to make our stay a wonderfull stay. And for such a nice price... (we made a non-refund booking well in advance). We would come back in a heart beat!!

Alessandro III is in a great location, right by St. Peter's Basillica and not far away from the bus line. Rafael and his uncle were very helpful, friendly and nice to talk. I though I had known them for years. The place is very clean and accomodating. I definetely recommend this BBRome4U and I will stay here again. Thanks.

Alessandro III was definitely a highlight for my husband and I. Without hesitation the best place we stayed in Italy (we traveled throughout Italy for 2 weeks and stayed only 1 night at Alessandro III). I highly recommend this charming B&B to friends and family traveling to Rome. The service was simply fantastic - very friendly and accomodating. Taxi arrangements were made for us for the next morning (as requested) and breakfast was even prepared for us (coffee, yogurt, and brioches)before we left to go to the airport at 6am. The room was spacious, comfortable and extremely clean. The breakfast area was also very nice and modern. The B&B, a 5 minutes walk to the Vatican, was in a very nice neighbourhood and very well located. We will definitely return to Alessandro III if we return to Rome.

We had a great experience at this Bed and Breakfast. The staff, especially the owner is one of the nicest people we have ever met. He recommended places to see, explained how to and which bus to take, in the morning he ordered taxis for us and overall made sure we had everything we needed. The hotel is located steps away from the Vatican in a great location and great neighborhood. From the Vatican and the hotel it is walking distance to all the major attractions like Piazza Navona, Corso Vittorio Emanuele etc, Pantheon, Colosseum etc. The rooms were clean, spacious enough and modestly furnished. We had no complaints what so ever, highly recommend it and will definitely stay at this BB next time we come to Rome :)

The breakfast was great and much better than what I have previously seen in Mediterranean countries. apart from that: clean rooms, aircondition and free internet - thumps up!

Sometimes when you book holidays etc. over the internet it can be a hit -or a miss- well this was a complete HIT. Raffael and the other members of staff were very helpful, informative and good at understanding my 'Scottish Italian'. Close proximity to St Peter's(5 Minutes), good surrounding restaurants and bars. Right on the No64 bus route and great access for the rest of Rome. B&B was very clean, modern with a good breakfast and comfy beds. We will definitely return and would highly recommend staying here. Thanks again for great Italian hospitality

Enjoyed our stay at Alessandro III very much. It was exactly what we were looking for, as we pretty much used it as a base of operations. The host was extremely friendly and helpful. Other employees very friendly. Conveniently located 2 blocks from the Vatican/St. Peter's, and only a bus ride away from old Rome. Nearest Metro is 1 mile away. Breakfast was filling selection of breads/shortbreads. Room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of restaurants within 1 block walk. Free Internet was very much appreciated, and very accessible. I thought maybe a little pricey, but not disappointing!

We had a wonderful stay at Alessandro 111, the room and bathroom were modern and very clean with all new facilities. Our room and bathroom were cleaned every day, the bed made for us and fresh towels put out. This is the only B & B that we stayed in that provided this service. Raphael and Juliano were lovely hosts, the breakfast was great, more than enough for us. Location was perfect, so close to St Peters, restaurants close by and transport was easy. We would recommend this B&B to anyone coming to Rome and hope to one day stay again.

When we first arrived at BEB Rome4U (this is the actual name of the bed & breakfast), it seemed we were a bit of a surprise. They weren't at all prepared for us, but I'm pretty sure that has to do with the lack of proper communication between the USA, Italy, and the booking website. They did have records of our reservation, but the guests that were in our room the night before weren't out when we arrived. I suggest that you give them a call a few days in advance to let them know your arrival time. The staff was incredibly friendly, and really accomodating. We only stayed here for one night, due to our travel plans, but given a choice, I definately wouldv'e stayed longer. The rooms were really clean, and there wasn't much street noise, as the B&B is not located on a main traffic street. There was, however, some noise from the rooms surrounding us. We were all so exhausted from our 16-hour day that it didn't bother us too much, but i would definately suggest ear plugs for light sleepers. There's a bus stop that takes you right into the historic center of Rome just around the corner, as well as restaurants and a gelateria right down the street (gelatto is a must! Sadly I will never enjoy American ice cream again...). It's a 10 minute walk to St. Peter's Basilica, but to get to the Vatican Museums, it was a good 25-30 minute walk, because you have to follow the wall all the way around Vatican City to reach the museum entrance. It was also only a short walk to other must-see attractions. Breakfast was Italian, so there were croissants, breads, jams, juice, tea, and coffee. It was served between 8:30 to 10:30, but we had to leave by 7:30, so I was a little bummed that we would miss it. When we asked them the night before to have a taxi for us in the morning, he said that they would have breakfast prepared for us at 6:45 so we could eat before we left! This B&B is amazing, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone!!!

Our stay at the Alessandro III was great. You can walk from the property to San Peter square in just 3 (three) minutes, yet the street in which the B&B is located is very quiet. The rooms were very clean and the hosts came across as genuinely warm and helpful people who can provide you with trustworthy advice on what to do and where to go (art exhibitions, restaurants etc.).
