The B&B is housed in a charming, Art Nouveau building, without lift, that has retained its original charm. In close proximity you can visit the Ipogeo degli Aureli, a small catacomb dating back from the 3rd century. The nearby buses will lead you to the most significant monuments of Rome.

The Bed and Breakfast Aldebaran is an ideal base from which to discover the Esquilino rione, a fascinating district, preserving traces of the Roman, Renaissance, Baroque periods. During the summertime, guests will relax on the property's terrace. An ADSL Internet Point is at guests' disposal.

Very warm welcome, useful practical advice by the hostess on city transport, various small pleasant things (e.g., tasty and good-looking capuccino and breakfast overall, umbrellas available). Very good location - close to the centre (just 10-15 minutes walk to Coliseum), but the street is very quiet and safe

Laura is awesome - she gave great tips and provides a truly excellent experience. The rooms were beautiful and breakfast was great! The patio on the roof was a perfect way to unwind after a busy day. I would definitely visit again and would recommend to anyone.

It was my first time at Aldebaran, but definetely not the last. Laura, the housekeeper was very hospitable and smiley, the location is very close to metro station and just about 10 minutes walking from the center. The room was neat and cozy, the bed is fresh and the surroundings are quiet. What else is needed when travelling?

There are very few places like Laura's, and this is an unfortunate truth. While the location itself is not the best in Rome, this is the only thing which was not the "best". We have stayed in more than 100 hotels/B&Bs/hostels in our lifes, and never met such a warm, welcoming, super, over-whatever you may expect, beyond wildest dreams hospitality. Laura (and her dear husband) offer an amazing thing - a truly homey feeling, that good fuzzy feeling that someone takes care of you, and of course - actually taking care of you! Both of them took care of us so well, either in doing stuff we did not expect (I won't write everything, so they won't feel obliged to do it), answering touristy questions (like where do real Romans eat outside their house), and as well, answering questions about Italy, history, politics. If we will ever go back to Rome, we will go out of our way to stay there again, just as much as Laura went out of her way to take care of us.

Laura is an excellent and very nice host. She offers you a lot of practical information to visit Rome. Her B&B is located in a quiet and safe street, close to Metro Manzoni. There is even a common terrace on the roof with chairs and a table and also a small kitchen with a fridge and an oven that can be used. We stayed for 4 nights and can recommend this B&B to everyone!

THE BEST B&B DEAL IN ROME... PERIOD! Before we left the States for Rome there were numerous flight cancellations and airport closures due to the Iceland volcano. Our hostess, Laura, communicated with us via email to update us on the local airport situation. The B&B is an easy 10-15 minute walk from the Termini Station. The directions given by our hostess were spot on. Upon arrival, we were enthusiastically greated by Laura. She wasted no time to make us feel right at home and to give us a detailed overview of Rome, with its sights and transportation system. Restaurant recommedations from Laura proved very helpful as well. Her home is very clean and nicely decorated. Laura does a unbelievable job in the morning with the breakfast. The table setting and presentation of the food, all ready for her guests, is truly a sight to see. Breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, croissants, yogurt, rolls, breads, jam, and hard boiled eggs. The Aldebaran was a great way to begin our Italy vacation. Throughout our entire visit, Laura went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. We shared a bathroom with another couple and found that not to be a problem. Our room was on the third floor of her home which can be a bit of a hike, however, we were fine with it. If you like to sleep with the windows open, then the street noise can be a bit loud if you are a light sleeper. With all the walking we did we had no problem sleeping through the night with the windows open. Overall, the Aldebaran is a GREAT value for the money as B&Bs go. It's a relief to know we found a place to call home for our next trip to Rome.

The people are very fiendly. Minus : The room was a little tied and a little humid. Shared bathroom causes some stress in the morning. Breakfast was poor, espresso&cappuchino was not italian. Plus : The terras on top of Rome. The metro at 300m, very easy and it opens up the city.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Aldebaran B&B in October '09. It was very conveniently located to the metro. The room was very large and extremely clean. It was on the 3rd floor, which might have been a problem if you had any sort of disability....please request a 1st or 2nd floor. We shared a very lovely, newly remodeled bathroom with one other couple...and experienced no problems. The breakfast was good and plentiful. BUT, the best part was the owner, Laura, who was so personable and treated us like family. She couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and helped us plan our daily itinerary. She was always smiling and never too busy to help us with whatever questions we had. We would definitely stay here again.

Upon arrrival, we were warmly greeted by Laura, who was running the B&B by herself during our stay. She is the kind of host you love to have: friendly, chatty, charming, attentive, accomodating, and quite helpful for enjoying Rome's attractions. Next to our room on the 2nd floor (counting ground floor as 0) was another, unoccupied, room, a bath with a cute rounded door, a kitchenette with fridge, and a patio with roof access. A laptop in the hallway downstairs provided free internet access, and there was a cat available for occasional petting. Thanks for making us feel at home, Laura!

Laura went out of her way to accommodate us for breakfast- even Sat morning before 8am! She didn't have to and we told her not to, but she insisted. The room was clean and adequate. Enough space for 2 carry on suitcases, backpack and a small dresser. We were a healthy couple in our 50'5. OUr room was on a 3rd floor walkup. I think there was one room on the main floor. Very good choice for price. Only a 5 min walk to metro station. Area is fine-- we were out to 11pm and didn't come across any problems or see any problems. There is a nice small park wthin walking distance.

Our host, Laura is very friendly and helpful. She gave us good advice on how to get around Roma and what to watch out for. She even taught us some Italian. Our breakfast was rich with variety. Our morning host, Salvador was always cheerful and very accommodating, a great start to our day. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. Same with the bathrooms. Wonderful little roof top terrace. There is some traffic noise but I don't you can get completely away from that in Roma. Our hosts just added to a great experience in Roma for us. We felt like we were staying with friends.

We really had a great stay in Roma (4 nights), thanks to Salvatore and Laura who are really nice and welcoming. The B&B is well located, and you can easily travel to all the places to visit by subway or/and bus. The rooms are very nice, well decorated, and the surroundings are very quiet. There are 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms to share, eveything is very clean. The breakfast is good and you can choose at what time you want to take it.

We've had a very nice stay. A very warm welcome when we arrived. The owners always tried to help us when there were questions. The breakfast was good, especially the cappucino. We stayed in a beautiful small dobble-bedroom on top floor of the house with shared bathroom. Everything was propperly equipped. M.S.

B&B Aldebaran is excellent, Laura and Salvador are both extremely welcoming and friendly. They were a great source of advice for all the best sights and restaurants to go to, plus Laura makes the best cappuccino in the World! It is well located with good underground and bus links all over Rome, plus you are only 15 minutes walk to the Colosseum. We will definitely be returning to B&B Aldebaran when we visit Rome again.

We were three Sisters travelling from Florence and staying in Rome for three nights. It was our first time to stay in Aldebaran and I have to say we made the right choice, the accomodation was excellent! Laura and Salvador have a beautiful home, very tastefully furnished and extremely clean - as Laura takes great pride in her home. Laura and Salvador were extremely helpful and very warm people. I would have not hestiation in recommending the property. I would say it was the best accomodation we had throughout our trip in Italy.

We visited Roma from 21. till 25. june 2007 and we were very surprised because of historical buildings and antiquities. But not just this. We liked this trip in this wonderful city because Mrs. Laura helped us and promises which she gave to us (accomodation in original romanian house, good breakfast, information and so on) were realy true. In this category she offers all these thing in a very good standard. Accomodation in this house is very near to station Termini and in a quiet and clean village. We appreciate that she changed our bedclothes and we received every day clean towels. We are also thankful to Laura for patience and willingness how she explained everything to us because we don´t speak italy, english and also spanish. Even though we understanded everything because she helped to us. We were very satisfied and in case of our next visit of Roma we will surely use the same place and accomodation. Gabriela and Paul

Criteria of choosing a hotel: We were looking for an affordable hotel where we can commute to various historical sites. We are not looking for a 5 star hotel, but we want the hotel to have nice rooms (not luxurious, but with taste and attracting to the eyes), and hoping for a clean bathroom. Location is one of our criteria, but we expected to walk a lot when traveling in Rome. We planned to travel to Vatican (St. Pietro Basilica and Sistine Chapel), Colosseo (Palatino and Foro Romano), Trevi Fountains, Piazza Navona, Piazza di Spagna, and Galleria di Borghese. Conditions: We, a couple, traveled to Rome during Easter Time in the early April. The temperature is around 10-18 Celsius (50-65 Fahrenheit). Value: 85 Euros (US115). We have gotten much more than what we expected. Location: Aldebaran is located between the Termini Station and Colosseo. The closest metro stations are Manzoni (under renovation) and Vittorio. It would take approximately 5 minutes to get to these stations and another 10-15 minutes to Ottaviano-St. Pietro Station. Of course, you won’t be as convenient as you would have stayed in a hotel or B&B in the Pantheon or Spagna Area, but you are paying 30-50 percent of the price. There are quite a few restaurants within 3-5 minutes walk. The foods were great and the prices are affordable. There are also two supermarkets that are within 3-5 minutes walk. In terms of safety, we think it is totally safe there. We often came back late (walking from Colosseo, Vittorio metro station) and we didn’t feel any threat. As I noticed that we are the first and currently the only one to leave feedbacks for Aldebaran, you can look at reviews from Espana Hotel (located right next to Aldebaran) for more information about the location. Owners: Laura and Sergio (the parents), Emma (the daughter), and Salvadore are very friendly and they do speak in English and Spanish (Laura). They are there during the breakfast time, so you can ask them question

Laura and Sergio were very welcoming and a pleasure to meet and stay with. They were most helpful with tourist information and advice on how to get around. I would definitely recommend them and the Aldebaran to anyone I know coming to Rome. It was my Roman "home away from home".
