Excelent, very welcomming place. Giorgio makes u feel like you are visiting an old friend :) We spent there 4 nights and for me it was the 3rd time in Rome. This time with the best accomodation (type VS price VS location). It is clean, very close to bus and tram stop, bus 81 takes you all the way to Vatican, stopping at the most of the imporant tourist sights. Breakfast is served on a beautiful teras any at time you want. Location is quiet, but next street is full of places to eat and bars. Also there is internet, fridge and microwave available. Id definitely stay here again.

We spent 7 nights at this delightful B & B the first week in April. Giorgio and Fulvio were excellent hosts. Both were willing to help above & beyond. Giorgio spoke excellent English so he was a great help to me, as this was my first trip to Europe and I was traveling with my minor child. The neighborhood was delightfully authentic - which is exactly what I was looking for. We felt safe walking night or day and the business owners were wonderful people. The neighborhood bookstore/cappuccino/wine bar and gelato maker were AWESOME! Breakfast was served at whatever time we requested - which was always 8:30 for us! We had fresh orange juice, coffee, cheese/meat, toast with jam/butter. Everything was good and fresh. There was a neighborhood market in the morning with fresh fruit/veggies/fish. This was a wonderful stay and I highly recommend.

Nice private flat with a fantastic host Giorgio and his colleague Fulvio. No limitations on breakfast time, you say when you want to have your breakfast. You will get toasts, jam, ham, cheese, coffee or tea and juice. Giorgio knows a lot about the city, nice places and the history. If you have any questions/problems he tries to solve them for you. He shares his private computer with guests, so you are able to surf the internet, email to your family etc., even free Wi-Fi was available to the rooms. Just one room has a bath room inside, the others have to share an external bath room. Towels and linen are included. Clean, quiet and comfortable room with TV.

Giorgio was a fantastic host! He went out of his way to make sure that we arrived safely and understood how to use the transportation system. If we needed anything, he was only a phone call away. I highly recommend Abitazione Pigneto!!

Il Pigneto is NOT in the city centre (good connections 'tough), but is one of the best location in Rome. It's like Soho in London. Former worker neighborhood now crowded with restaurants, clubs, off-theatres. Compared to the average roman offer il Pigneto is a very good and priceworthy opportunity. What you pay is really what you get. It doesn't happen very often in Rome. The place seems poor from outside, but once you are inside the flat is stylish decorated and warm. Good internet connection and friendly landlord.

Fantastic! Georgio and Fulvio were wonderful, knowledgeable hosts who loved to help their guests, providing maps, bus information, dining suggestions, etc. Lovely, lovely people with a charming 3 bedroom apartment. We will definitely stay with Georgio and Fulvio again. I can't say enough wonderful things about both of them and their lovely B&B. It just couldn't have been any better. Georgio asked each guest when to serve breakfast, for eating preferences and served everyone on the balcony. How delightful to sip coffee or blood orange juice and eat prosciutto, cheese and toast in the morning while enjoying the cool breeze and chatting with the other guests. Although there was no A/C, Georgio provided a fan but the cross ventilation was great for keeping cool. We slept with our doors open onto the balcony and never had a qualm about our safety. We requested to be picked up from the airport, which Georgio did for a small charge of 30 euros. We were so relieved to avoid public transport to an unfamiliar area that we also requested transport to Civitavecchia to catch our next boat. Fulvio graciously complied by driving us there for 80 euros. What a bargain and such a nice service to provide to travel weary tourists! They truly have the personal touch for their guests. We felt as though we were part of their family, guests included. The neighborhood is quite charming. There is a public market a block or so away and everyone gathers there for the evening to drink and eat at the restaurants. This is Rome at its best.

Great place with excellent character, Giorgio clearly enjoys meeting new people and takes care to help guests get to where they need to go. You get a leaflet with a map of Rome and instructions on how to get to the major attractions, though if in doubt the owners are more than happy to help. At first glance the neighbourhood doesn't look that inviting but it's perfectly harmless, plus it's just a short bus/tram trip away from everything.

I've never been to Rome before so staying at Giorgio's B&B was excellent - he was really helpful with local information and transport info. Picked us up from the airport for a really reasonable price. B&B was great - lovely breakfast. Couldnt have asked for a better service. I would definately recommend Abitazione Pigneto to younger travellers, as the area that the B&B is in a really lively area with some busy bars / places to eat - please note, you cannot hear anything at night from the B&B - it is very quiet! The main attractions of Rome are only a tram ride / metro away - very easy to use and a short walk from the B&B. I'd recommend getting a taxi back if it's late at night and the trams have stopped - the buses dont seem to follow the same route back to where the tram stop closest to the B&B is! Overall, a great place to stay. Really would recommend it.

A charming B&B run by an equally charming, friendly couple in a homely apartment - our room had a massive bookcase complete with an antique book collection and a lovely balcony which ajoined to a terrance covered with beautilful cacti. The breakfast offered was lavish by Italian standards. One toilet to be shared amongst 3 guest rooms (or 6 people) worked out well with good timing & some consideration.

For giorgio, the owner, the b and b is a hobby in which he fulfills his passion for meeting persons from other countries and assisting them in experiencing his city. even though it is a business, he naturally becomes your best friend while you are there. it is situated in an authentic roman neighborhood with no tourists. so, the restaurants and services enable you to experience rome in it's natural state. that was very much appreciated by me. i feel like i came away with a realistic understanding of roman life beyond the silliness of the tourist traps.

Abitazione Pigneto is not a typical B&B; it is more like a home of a welcoming friend. Giorgio picked us from the airport, gave us a map he had made, planned our walk, give us information on restaurants where we had the finest meals during the trip, gave us the key and left us. Thank you from Raimonda and Abid

We stayed here 4 nigths and had a nice experience. The place was clean and very cousy. The owners were friendly and very interested in giving advise on what to do in rome or just share travel experience from other places in the world. We felt very welcome! Really nice with the free internet and the travelbooks other guests have left behind if you need inspiration for where to go. In the area there are good cheap places to eat either shawarma or greek food and a street with bars, where you can hang together with the italian youth. No other tourists in this area! If you want to go out in other areas of the city and you want to take a cab home remember to get the adress and maybe some directions because the driver may not know the shortest way to the place!!

Georgio's b&b has a lot of character, not only in decor but also (and especially) in Georgio himself. He was great. He has a lot of pride in his city and plenty of useful information to share. That said, you need to make sure that you're looking for a place with character. It was a 15 minute tram ride from the train station into a part of Rome with plenty of character, including tons of graffiti, great little pizza/kabob shops, and lots of Turkish people. My husband and I loved it, although I was initially put off by the neighborhood's close resemblance to the ghetto of Washington D.C. Never fear, it was totally safe. The 81 bus just a block from this b&b will take you to all the sights you need to see. The last stop is right next to vatican city.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights on our honeymoon to Rome. Every other place in the city was extremely expensive over New Years and we stayed here because of the low price. Our hosts were very kind. The breakfast was small but good. There are 3 rooms and one shared bathroom. The bathroom is spacious and clean. The surrounding neighborhood doesn't have any tourist spots. San Giovanni Laterano is the closest; about a 15 minute walk. You can get on the 81 bus which will take you to the San Giovanni Metro A stop. The location is not convenient if you just want to walk all over Rome. But overall we had a pleasant stay!

We stayed 4 nigths at this B&B and it was pleasure. We felt like home since the B&B is actually flat with 3 rooms and kitchen. Bathroom is shared but we never had to wait to use it. Breakfast was nice and was served on the balcony:-) Location is not in the city center but there is very good public transport connection to main tourist atraction and benefit is that cafes, shops and restaurants in that area are very cheap which was very good:-) We would definitely reccommend to our friends. Thank you Gorgio and Fulvio for making our stay so nice!

We found Giorgio and Fulvio to be excellent hosts. Giorgio went out of his way to make suggestions and give directions so we could see the maximum number of sites during our stay in Rome. He even arranged for a friend to accompany us as a private tour guide for the Vatican & St. Peter's. This wonderful lady even stood in the ticket line for over 2 hours so we could see other sites and not waste time standing in line on a very busy day. Her knowledge of the Vatican, St. Peters and Rome, in general, was quite impressive. The breakfasts that were served at the B&B were exactly what we ordered at the exact time we requested. The other guests that we met were friendly and helpful. We felt like guests in a private home. Although the surrounding was, to say the least, unusual, we would not hesitate to stay with Giorgio and Fulvio on our next trip to Rome.

This was my first stay at Bed & Breakfast Abitazione Pigneto and I would definitely recommend it to someone who wants cheaper accommodation close to the center of Rome. The hotel is not in the actual center, and it would be difficult to walk to any tourist sites on foot, but it is a 20 minute tram/bus ride from Termini and about 15 minutes to the Church of Saint Giovani, from which you can walk to the Colosseum/Forum. The owner of the bed and breakfast was very friendly and helpful (he speaks Italian and French, but not much English). The breakfast included with the room was light, but good. Nice clean bathroom and kitchen space. There is a shared computer in the living room with internet access that you can use for free, which is a plus.

My boyfriend and I (24 and 20 years old) really enjoyed our holiday in Rome at Abitazione Pigneto. The room was big and really nice, with a wonderful balcony in which we had breakfast. The bathroom was in common with another couple, but it has not been a problem! Giorgio was very helpful and nice! The only problem was that often it was hard to find a bus to come back home at night (I suggest to take a bus for the station and then the tram for Pigneto). However we really enjoyed the holiday!

El pis on teniem l' habitació estava dedicat totalment als hostes.

Very helpful host who gave a lot of useful information to us. BTW, if you have 3 or more people traveling together, it's better to ask for the airport pickup service. The location isn't horrible but you do need to factor in price of bus tickets, time lost in going to/from the city, and traffic times. Agreed some shady characters in neighborhood nearby--didn't cause any harm but may have been different if I was alone. Overall for the price and cleanliness, it was a good place to stay. However, for my personal experience it wasn't so great because we got yelled at on the last night. We used their phone to call a toll-free number for our credit cards since they weren't cleared, and unfortunately it took a very long time because the credit card company kept switching us back and forth to different departments. Although at first the landlords were OK with it, later on they suddenly stormed in and bit our heads off. It ruined the rest of our night and we left Rome the next morning with a bad taste in our mouths. I understand we broke some rules (that weren't very clear in the first place) but I don't think it was fair of them to chastise us guests like that. I don't think they would've gotten charged for the call, but we left an extra 10Euro when we left just in case. We're sorry about the whole incident, but the level of rudeness was a bit too much in the end.

I would recommend to take advantage of landlord's offer to pick you up from the airport. The location is great - it has a lovely spirit of neighbourhood, where locals really live - not just a place for tourist. One could find the surroundings slightly dirty (the rooms themselves are cleaned perfectly, of course); but - maybe unfortunately - it is definitely not more dirty than the rest of Rome (you might be surprised by this, especially if you are used to Western or Northern Europe standards of neatness; but it is also important part of Rome experience). Landlords are great and extremely helpful - you can learn a lot about Rome from them.

This is an awesome place to stay. Giorgio and his partner made our stay very pleasurable. This b&b is one of the best i've stayed at. It is super clean and near the bus stop. They were very informative and gave us maps on how to get around. They offered internet service and our own key to come in and out as we pleased. We even got airport pickup for an add'l fee of course. The b&b is located next to a popular hang out spot for young night owls. I loved this place and am definitely coming back, its better than a hotel you get personal attention here!

Very friendly people.I went with my girl friend and had our best vacantion ever. The romm is exactly what we need it : a clean bad and a wardrobe big enough for our clothes ( we stayed 9 nights there....).The room had a TV, but I never open it.We had internet access ( share computer with other two rooms), but I had planty of time to verify my email and read the news. The bathroom, even if it is in comon for three rooms, it was very clean and I never stayed in line for use it. Georgio and Fulvio are two perfect hosts. They didn't mix in our lives, but they apear when you need it them. The appartment has a gorgeous balcony(and very big). Here we had our breakfast, when the weather allowed us. Something that I will never forget, and I think that says very much about theirs hospitality : I had to leave Rome on 1'st of May. I had to catch a train and no bus works at that our/day.Georgio came earlyer from a lunch with his father (and, if you go to Italy, you will understand the importance of a lunch there...) especially for taking us to the train. Besides this, he help us with the luggage(otherwise we would never catch that train...).Thanks again. Frankly, I do not have anything to complain about my stay there.I hope you will enjoy your vacantion in Roma at least as much as we did. Liliana & Adrian

The 2 owners of this B & B were fantastic. probably the friendliest Italians we met on our trip. The place has free internet which is incredibly convenient. The owners also let us use their own private kitchen! which wasn't part of the deal but saved us a hell of a lot of money as food in rome is very expensive. the location of this place is not fantastic. a trams ride away from the termini, and the area is a little dirty. but overall you definately get your money's worth.

We stayed a couple nights in what could function as a double or triple. The rooms were very nice..we had a terrace! Our hosts were amazing....they were so sweet and went out of their way to make sure we knew how to get around Rome. The breakfast is basic but nice. The shower leaves a little to be desired (very low water pressure), but it gets the job done.

We enjoyed our stay in Abitazione Pigneto. The room was clean and we had a double bed with my daughter. Breakfast was good and we had it every morning at the balcony.Giorgo and Fuilio were friedly people. Fiulio drew us to the airport. We would`t mind for warm water in shower.

The atmosphere is pleasant and cosy . Fulvio and Girogio are excellent persons, they are very polite and always available to help you. A good breakfast, not gorgeous but very good. Although it is not near to the centre, you can easily reach it by bus. The only thing to improve is the mattress, at least in the room we stayed. After 21 days travelling along Italy, Giorgio and Fulvio were the most friendly, polite and educated Italian we met... if not the only ones.... I hope one day we could return to Rome and we certainly will stay at Abitazzione Pigneto. Fernando and Julieta.

Empfehlenswert!

Although I am satisfied with the room and the service provided by the property, the surrounding area of the property is poor since it seems as a society of to many immigrants.

A very good place for staying in Rome. Its located in a quiet street with little shops and restaurants nearby. In 3 minutes you can reach a lovely market and enjoy a coffee or beer for little money. Though it seems to be a little bit outside bus and tram are just round the corner and within some minutes you`ll be at Stazione Termini or at the next underground station. Giorgio and Fulvio are two really kind and helpful men, making your stay at Rome to a pleasure.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Abitazione Pigneto. It is in a residential area which we enjoyed being able to see the day to day activity and let us vist with a few local residents, which we enjoyed as much as the sites. The subway and bus is close so there was no problem in getting around the city. The nieghborhood was quite safe at night, and you were allowed to come and go as you please. We meet a very nice family staying there from Milan that we will always remember. Many thanks to Giorgio and Fulvio for thier hospitality. One day we will return and we will be sure to to come back to Abitzione Pigneto

First of all, for 55 Euro a night this place is great! It was clean, and the hosts are very friendly and helpful in whatever way that they can be. We had a baby with us, and they would hold him and play with him. Giorgio, one of the hosts, does speak English very well, and is very helpful. The breakfast was sparse, but we didn't expect much for the price we paid. A couple of things I wish I would have known; yet I would still stay there, I would have liked to be prepared, but we arrived by car and it was really hard for us to find. We would recommend that you have Giorgio meet you at a gas station off the highway that circles around Rome, and follow him in. We were lost and in traffic for 3 hours. He would probably do that for a small fee. Also, there is no official parking, you just have to find somewhere on the street, and that was a challenge. But, the area is very safe. Also, this place is an apartment in which has three rooms, and you share with strangers which have booked also. There are two rooms that share a bathroom, and one room that has a private bathroom. Knowing that, I wouldn't have been so shocked. The bus station is very near (2 minute walk) and very easy to use. Over all we were very pleased, and would stay again next time we are in Rome.

Giorgio is a great host and gave us lots of useful information regarding tourist areas, transport and even a bit of roman history. We would stay at Abitazione Pigneto again on a return visit to Rome. The area is a little far from some of the attractions and we did not find many convenience stores late at night, otherwise a good area.

I should have known that Italian breakfast is in fact "almost nothing" - but that´s the Italian way :-) The area first seemed to be "weird" - but we found out that there is no real normal place in Rome, too. All in all - we were really happy with that appartment and our visit in Rome was absolutely great!!!

I felt very welcomed by Fulvio and Giorgio, they both were very nice! The room was big enough and you could have left the doors to the balcony open all day and night. The bathroom I shared with Fulvio and Giorgio always was clean and it was no problem to share it. The location was easy to find with the informations I got from Giorgio before I arrived. The surrounding is very safe, and it was no problem, beeing there alone as woman. When I came back in the evening, I felt like coming home. I know, if I come back to Rome, and I certainly will, I will stay at Fulvio's and Giorgio's B&B.Many greetings....

This was the best break we have ever had. Made more pleasant by our lovely hosts Fulvio and Giorgio. They welomed us into their lovely B&B and it felt like we'd known them for years. They are undoubtedly two of the nicest people you could wish to meet and were also helpful with all sorts of practical information. The B&B is in a lively bohemian area just outside the Roman walls. There is a bus and tram stop at the end of the road and it's about 6 stops to the main termini station (10 mins). From there you can catch a train, the metro or bus to anywhere in Rome, although it's nicer to walk. Giorgio will also pick you up and drop you off at the airport, which is a great help. We loved our stay in the wonderful city of Rome. We will return mainly to stay with Fulvio and Giorgio again! Many Thanks to you both.

Public transportation to the city center was also fantastic. Whoever seeks a simple and decent place to stay that is worth the money...

We were in Rome for 4 days and I can only say it was a great stay! The accomondation is excellent. The hosts, Fulvio and Giorgio, are -in my opinion- two of Rome's biggest treasures!!!!! We had such a warm welcome by them, and they were so friendly and helpfull, that we immediately felt like staying with friends!! Giorgio knows everything there is to know about Rome, which can be a big help. We can only recommend this B&B, without any restrictions! If we return to Rome (which we will, because we tossed a coin into the Trevi-fountain...)WE ARE DEFINATLEY STAYING AT PIGNETO!!!

We had a double ensuite bedroom and everything was fine. Fulvio (the host) is polite and kind. The breakfast was simple but better than in many other places. The flat is in an area of Rome that is a little run down and away from the centre: on the other hand there are buses and trams that stop very close and take you to the centre in 20-30 minutes. All in all, good value for money and we would certainly stay again.

We had an excellent stay, from the friendly service to the delightful breakfasts (included) to the clean, aesthetically pleasing rooms and the staff's great restaurant recommendations. We enjoyed staying in this funky neighborhood, which offers easy access to the city center without noisy streets and the usual tourist trappings. It was a great starting point for exploring authentic Rome, and the knowledgeable staff provided us insider information about the local area.

It was a great stay. The accomondation is excellent. Our hosts Giorgio and Fulvio were very nice. The pickup at the airport was very helpful and worked perfect. It is a little bit outside of the center put that is no problem because the bus stop is only a few meters away. On the first evening we planned together with Giorgio our stay and he gave us great informations and hints about our daily tours/Rome. We could recommend the B&B without any restrictions. If we visit Rome again we are staying here.

Property was great, and so was the service and level of welcome and helpfulness. The property was more than walking distance from the centre of Rome, although well connected by public transport. Difficulty finding the property, no thanks to an unscrupulous taxi driver who dropped us miles away. Good level and range of European languages spoken at the property. Would recommend to other travellers, possibly better with some prior knowledge of Rome.

This was a wonderful and beautiful place. The staff were extremely friendly. The room and bathrooms were large compared to other locations we stayed at. I am a very picky person and found the bathroom and room to be very clean. This location often offers airport pick-up for a fee, but is an excellent feature. The location is near a bus stop that takes you to the Vatican. We will return to Rome again and only if there is a room available at Abitazione Pigneto. We highly recommend this location for your next stay.
