This is our second stay at Nonna Dea and we are pleased to say that at the price and location this B and B is never going to have any serious rivals. Our host Maurizio was as charming as we remembered from our previous stay and the high standard set on our earlier visit continues. Yes, there is a shared bathroom but this isn't a great problem as there are only two letting rooms in the apartment. We can't fault Nonna Dea at all and will definately be returning again later.

Thank you Maurizio, for your warm welcome ... for helping us figure out how to get around, and for the good food! Staying with you made our trip more enjoyable. We're glad we had a limo pick us up at the airport and drop us off at your place. That was a great suggestion...we may have had a difficult time finding it otherwise.

Maurizio the owner of B&B Nonna Dea, was in contact with me after receiving my confirmation to introduct himself and to check to see if I wanted transfer from the airport. I choose to do the metro on my own and the directions he gave me was extremely easy and I was quite pleased that he was there to greet me given the fact that I was late getting in. He was extremely welcomining and went and got me a map and took the time to show me the routes to various sites. Every morning the table was sent with a great breakfast which enjoyed with a couple from France. The place was cleaned everyday and Maurizio took a moment each day to speak with us. We were given keys so that we could come and go as we please. Everynight I took a moment to sit on the balcony and admire the lights of the vatican and to give thanks for this amazing place and to learn about its history. Just before arriving in Rome I had decided to stay an extra day but unfortunately the rooms were booked however Maurizio allowed me to keep the keys and leave my luggage until 1pm. This suited me just fine because I was able to do a little shopping before I headed out to pick up my cruise. In case you're wondering, B&B Nonna Dea is less than 10mins walk to the vatican and another 5mins to the basilica and if you like to walk you could do so to the main attractions once you get an early start each day. I guarantee you would not regret staying at B&B Nonna Dea and the warmth extended by Maurizio.

Our stay in Nonna Dea was fantastic. We stayed for 3 days - till 3 to 6 of June 2012. Very warm welcome from apartment owner, Maurizio. Convenient location - not far from Vatican city, metro station and bus stop. Great view on Vatican from apartment balcony. And tasty home-made breakfasts. Free parking near Nonna Dea seems rather safe, and you can see your car from the bathroom window. Our next visit to Rome we will choose Nonna Dea for sure!

This is a wonderful place to stay in Rome! Maurizzio is a fantastic host. He keeps the place spotless at all times. You have access to a refrigerator, microwave, dishes, coffeemaker, and much more in the living area. He makes a wonderful breakfast for you and is very friendly and helpful. He lives on the premises, so although he is very unobtrusive, he is available and happy to help out with directions and anything else one might need. You share the bathroom with one other double room, but, like I said, it is kept clean at all times. The apartment is located in a quiet part of Rome, but it is also very convenient to Metro and bus and close to the Vatican. So it's very easy to get around. This place is a wonderful value. I would recommend it highly!!

My travel companion and myself enjoyed our stay at the Nonna Dea very much indeed. Maurizio who runs the establishment was an excellent host, who spoke very good English, therefore making it very easy to ask questions and gain information. The Breakfast was more than adequate and included some cooked food as well as the usual cereals, bread, hot drinks etc. The proximity to the Vatican and its museums - about 10-15minutes walk which included some stairs, makes it an ideal place to stay. Also,it is very close to both a Metro link to the centre -Valle Aurelia, and an over ground station, both stations in the same complex. Only a slight problem in finding the B&B was resolved with a quick phone call. (You turn to the left outside the stations, under the viaducts and the block in which the B&B is found is the first one you come to after the car park on left-hand side.)Maurizio was so good at directions, one didn't really need a guide book! There is also a very good restaurant La Fournace a short walk away from the B&B where all the locals seem to go. We went twice in a three days stay, and had excellent meals both time. The staff there were also very friendly and helpful. having had a really good short break,we want to return and definitely will try and book at Nonna Dea again - will be most upset if we cannot stay there!

We had a nice stay at Nonna dea. I was glad to park the car in a public parking right beside the accomodation (even though it's not easy to find free space for the car). Metro station Valle Aurelia is also beside-and it's really close to the Vatican. 75 EUR was an adequate price (not cheap but not expensive). The owner, Maurizio was very friendly. All in all we had a nice stay there.

Outstanding service. The manager/owner, Maurizio, has a lot of experience in travel businesses, and his expertise makes a big difference. He sent several emails to us before our arrival in Italy to help him anticipate what our needs would be, and then he helped us in several ways during our stay in Rome, which was fabulous. The Nonna Dea is comfortable and spacious and has everything we needed. We relaxed here and would love to return sometime.

Confusion; Once you locate the building which is a high rise apartment block, you won't see any signs. You have to take the elevator to the seventh floor and one of the two doors has a discreet brass plate next to it. To get there is easiest by subway, but print out a map since the first time is confusing. When you come out of the subway, you'll need to eventually do a 180 degree turn to the left [ thru the tunnel ] and walk about 300 meters to the high rise. The unit is a very deluxe apartment with marble floors and you will have one of two spare bedrooms which are the size of a suite. The owner is only there in the AM. noon and after 10 PM, so you have the place to yourself. He leaves a wonderful breakfast and fixings to bag your lunch. The bus stop across the street takes you to one of the central plazas and indeed is a very handy route. Keep in mind, the host does not have Visa and you must pay in cash. Also remind him to leave the internet wifi on even if you are not there, since you will be using it after dinner. He failed to do this with us and it hurt because reservations could not be made and pricier options had to be pursued. The location is about 1/2 hour from the Forum. If you haven't gotten the memo, the cool area to visit in Rome is Travestere, a lovely area but difficult to access. Plan at least an evening there.
