The room was small, three flights of stairs was a chore, but... Location was perfect, the room was impeccably clean, price was great, good coffee and quick breakfast was a bonus, finally... Tanya made me feel like a special guest.

This place was great. Our room was small but was spotless as was the shared bathroom. You can get large rooms with bathrooms but we booked too late. Tania, our host, was so helpful and friendly, couldn't fault her. Location is great. 50 metres from Trevi fountain. Felt very safe in the area as there was police at Trevi all night. Plenty of places to get food and drinks. Will be back upon our return to Rome.

Yes, the B&B met my expectation. Amazing location and very nice and spacious room (we had the triple for two people)... it looks almost a whole appartment! The only little issue is that there is not sign outside of the building, therefore as soon as you arrive you fear someone ripped you off :( but no worries, just ring the intercom and a very nice lady will great you. Just an advice, try to check in during working hours otherwise I am not sure whether someone would open the door. Positive experience overall, I'd go back!

The double room we got is very small, plus very low ceiling. can not stand upright in most part of the room. head hits ceiling many times a day. Breakfast is very plain. room is clean. service is good. location is good/central. this is the most expensive(Euro 86+4 tax) hotel we stayed in during the 23 days trip from Germany to Italy, but also the worst one. Two host ladies are very nice. But that's all about it.

This bed and breakfast was in an excellent location, very close to all the major sites. It is on the third floor with no lift, so difficult to get your suitcases up to the room. Room itself was clean but tiny. Hard to move around in. For the price we paid it served it's purpose. Breakfast was good and bedroom had airconditioning.

The b-n-b was in an excellent location, but do NOT plan on parking anywhere nearby for less than 35 Euro a day. We found a parking garage 2 blocks from the Hard Rock Cafe and about a 1 km walk from the b-n-b, for 18 Euro a day. If you are traveling on a budget and don't mind a little exercise, EXCELLENT.

centrally situated around the corner in a street nearby Trevi fountain. The b&b is cosy and small. the hopspita is very nice and speaks italian (not much english). We had a 3person room (were with 2) that was nice. Everything was clean the room and worked well. breakfast is ok but very simple. Small point of critic; there had been a leak at the wall/roof which was repaired, but caused a nasty smell of stuffy moist because of this.. We were only 2nights there so we did not complain but if you would stay longer this could be a problem. at the end we had a little discussion about the luggage; we could leave it at the hotel which we agreed but the owner said it wasn't possible. eventually we could leave the luggage there, fortunately so everything was solved well.

While small the situation close to everything in Rome, about 100 metres from the Trevi fountain made this place a fabulous place to stay. We felt it was good value for money. There were a lot of steps but it was not a problem

The only qulaity about this hotel is its location . Otherwise none of the failities offered in the room such as the TV were functioning . The breakfast was a disappointment . The staircases are very narrow to walk through especially if any heavy luggage is being carried .

Breakfast was disappointing, ghastly packaged sweet rolls and biscuits. Seeing as a staff member arrives each morning to make coffee and prepare breakfast we thought that it would be much better and preferable if they could bring in fresh bread each morning. The entrance hall could do with being cleaner. The location was excellent.

the location is perfect as it gives on the Trevi Fountain in the center of Rome. The rooms are clean but ours was very small with only 8m² and the breakfeast is very poor. We arrived in the evening and no one was there to welcome us. I had to call to know how i could enter and the person told me the room was open and the keys on the door... if your goal is to be in the center of rome it is a good choice but for the rest just forget it.

The outside looks a little "iffy" and there were no elevators. We had to climb up four flight of stairs with our luggage, but the inside was very nice. Kitchen area was a little small and breakfast was typical toast and croissants. But the room we stayed in was nice, clean, and spacious. I stayed for 3 nights and the room/bathroom was cleaned everyday. Great location - down the street from the Trevi Fountain. I would definitely stay here again.

It took me quite some time to choose this hotel in Rome. I chose it because of the price and location. It was located a block from the Fontana di Trevi, walking distance to Piazza di Spagna, Piazza dei Popolo, Termini Station and even to the Vatican. We never uses public transport. The room we got (number 2) was very clean and had a private bathroom. Breakfast was quite good (cappuccino, yogurt, milk, cereal, bread)and Loredana (who was responsible of serving the breakfast and cleaning the rooms) was very helpful. The space in the kitchen is small but not a problem. I travelled with my husband and each one had a carry on bag, so climbing up the steep stairs of the 3 floors was not so bad. However if you have heavy suitcases that you are not able to carry them, it could be a problem. When you arrive the building seems old and in particular the door but that is the outside. There is no lobby/reception and the owner Marco and Maria usually waits for you. If not (as it happened to us since there was a mistake on my arrival time) you can call her. They are both very helpful. Marco showed us different areas in the map and answered all our questions. More pros than cons and thus I would recommend this B&B.

We were two adults and two boys (15 & 14yrs) and we stayed for four nights. We were on a tight budget and we wanted a central location and this place delivered on both those priorities and, overall, we were delighted with our choice. Firstly the negatives: Although I had read the previous reviews, I still got a shock when the taxi dropped us off at the door. So, before you book this hotel, you need to carefully read the previous reviews on it - the scaffolding, the old front door, the stairs up to the third and fourth floors (not suitable for older people and young children). We booked two double rooms (nos. 6 & 7 on the 4th. floor) which are just under the sloping roof with standing room only on one wall. It took a few bangs on the head to learn to stoop down if you moved away from the high side of the room! I looked into into other rooms which were just fine - they seemed to be triple (double + single beds) or quadruple (double + 2 single beds). We also had a shared bathroom which had been notified and was not a problem for us. So, beware when booking! Tiny, tiny kitchen/breakfast room with basic breakfast - all as described in previous reviews. There is no place to gather as a group - except on the stairs or, heaven help us, in the bedroom. The staff do not stay at the premises and there is a lot of communication by hand-written notes left on the door. The other irritation is the payment by cash up-front. It turned out that most of Rome works on the cash-only system and I soon ran out of money and had to go to an ATM machine to top up. Now the positives: First and foremost is the location - fantastic, fantastic, fantastic! - Again, as described in previous reviews. Second is the easy-going atmosphere of the place and staff - particularly the genial Marco. Thirdly, the place is clean. Finally and importantly, is the good price. We felt got what we paid for (apart from the ceiling height) and were very pleased with ourselves. We would be happy to go back to

We stayed at the 3 Coins B&B for 3 nights in June 09. It has a very central location just by Trevi Fountain, perfect for exploring Rome on foot. Rooms are small and basic, but clean and exactly as advertised, (towels provided, room cleaned daily, air-conditioned etc). Breakfast was adequate (cereal, pastry, yoghurt and coffee). The staff were friendly, helpful and arrived to greet us at the arranged time (even though we were an hour late). Overall, I would highly recommend this to the budget traveller, it is very good value for central Rome. (aged 29, London, UK)

This hotel was impeccably clean and a typical tiny pensione. I think our room was the smallest type and it was quite minuscule but it is an excellent, practical and efficient centrally-located hotel. The breakfast isn't great-- cheap breakfast stuff served in packages (packaged croissants, crackers, etc) but the staff was friendly and I would recommend it to anyone traveling on a budget who wants privacy and who doesn't plan on spending too much time at their hotel relaxing (because there simply isn't the room for it).

I booked a room with double bed with private bathroom. It was what I was looking for: cleanliness of room and cleanliness of the bathroom, superb location, it's in the centre of Rome, next to Trevi Fountain.Great relationship between price and quality. Suggested. It's an apartment converted to B&B on the third floor (keep in mind that there's no lift) and if I remember well they have only three rooms. Don't be afraid of the outward appearence of the building ( it's was on renovations when I was there in february 09). My room was little but cute and breakfast was abundant. There's no reception and when we arrived we found a poster on the entrance door of the B&B at the third floor in which there was a number to call to get the key to enter. Except this we had nothing to complain about. We paid in cash (make sure that you have the exact amount, maybe they haven't change), and I don't know if it's possible to pay with cards.

The location was perfect. We could walk to most art and historical sites. The woman who worked at the bed and breakfast, Lori, spoke three languages and was very nice and helpful. The rooms were charming. I would recommend 3 Coins Trevi Fountain to everyone. The one difficulty was in confirming our reservation with the B&B before arrival, but that was soon forgotten. One room we had was at the front, on the busy tourist street, so we slept with earplugs every night. The other room we had was quiet. Great coffee. We loved our trip.

Great location. Upon arrival at the B&B we were shown to our room. The next morning the girl working there asked me to make payment for the 2 nights that we were staying. I handed over my dredit card and was told that i had to pay cash. The website clearly states that Credit Cards are accepted upon arrival and that they are their 'preferred' payment method. When i told her that i didnt have it in cash she rang the owner who proceeded to tell me that we were 'upgraded' the night before into a larger room and because of that, i should pay her in cash. This went on for a while and she said that she was going to have the girl confiscate my passport until i payed her in cash. Luckily i was able to get the money out at a nearby atm and return it to the B&B within the owners time frame. Service was rude and they didnt seem to understand why i wouldnt want to leave my passport with the owner who was going to take it with her when she left the hotel. Apart from that, the rooms are clean and the location is to die for. Make sure you pack light as the B&B is loacted at the top of 3 flights of stairs and there is no elevator!!!!

If location is what matters the most, this is a not so expensive way to go (yet 96 euros is no bargain...). It is at least 3 long stores up, no lift and cripy stairs. The front door is permanently open (falling apart, actually), and there is no recepcion or front desk (or even front personel) - there is a very friendly and helpful romenian lady who clean the place tough (not much English, but great will to help and comunicate). Common rooms are nonexistent. On the bright side, it was clean (not spotless), breakfast is what other reviewers say (industrialized bread and very good coffe/capuccino, avaliable at all times I must add). If you realy choose location as your priority and is considering to pay 96 euros for a doble, you must know (strong) chances are you are going to get one of the 2 rooms in the attic, and since the photo on the B&B homepage doesnt make it justice, I urge you to see mine! The room is pretty much what you see: after the bed ends, there is just enough space to operate the door. You will have to manage to accomodate (and handle) your luggage in a one chair on the bottom of the bed, since the so called closet is anaccessible given to a desk in the midle of the way. The other room in the same floor is just the same thing (it seems rooms on the 3rd floor are bigger tough). Manager is never there, and the romenian lady can´t operate the credit card machine. I would stay there again only if I had a single day in Rome and wanted to make the most of it (and couldn´t find anything near any metro station).

Location was outstanding - couldn't be better. A struggle to get up the stairs, but we knew this beforehand from info provided. We were on the 3rd floor (the lowest) so it wasn't too bad, but we had emailed ahead to request this floor (don't know if they got it). Wireless internet was a problem - the equipment is there, but nobody could give us the security code. However, there is a network cable connected to the modem in the dining area, so we went in after hours and connected directly to the internet with our laptop - no problem. Breakfast is cramped and more basic than you would normally expect from a B & B, but there are food choices if you ask (yoghurt, juice, cereal, croissants). Good shower, toilet, bed. Overall, the location made up for the few disadvantages.

There is no mention on the information that you will have to pay the full amount on arrival. There is no taxi service available as indicated on the website. Breakfast is served in a very small room. There was another couple staying in the hotel who paid significantly less than we did. Also, the price quoted in the hotel was less than what we paid. There is no lift in the accomodation and it is at the top of a flight of 5 stairs. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hotel is perfectly located. However, value for money is poor.

Positives - extremely central, lovely helpful girl who cleaned and provided breakfast, clean, bathroom was just down the hall and very available. Negatives - security, front entrance is always open with no foyer or personnel. We had a homeless man wonder in and sleep out our 5th floor landing on our first night. Police from Fontana de Trevi moved him on. Room on 5th floor in attic, no lift, couldn't stand up in half of the room due to sloped attic ceiling. Great coffee but didn't eat b/fast offered, very ordinary. Recommend room at a lower level which appeared much better.

I do not usually complain too much about details not in order, but sadly, in the case of '3 Coins Trevi Fountain', all the small details which were not satisfactory, summed up. The room was extremely small - so small that we had to step over our two normal-sized suitcases, no matter where they were placed. It is the smallest hotel room I have ever slept in. Please see the images. The toilet (same miniature size as the room) suffered from poor ventilation giving rise to small black spots of fungus in all corners. The sink drain was almost blocked, and the hinge of the toilet seat was broken. Our receipt stated that the use of the wireless internet connection was included in the price. Sadly, no wireless signal was found, and the staff did not know about it. The breakfast was industrial toast crackers with jam and butter, served in the crammed kitchen. Sadly, I cannot recommend this B&B despite its very central location. You simply do not get enough value for your money.

Worst place I have ever stayed! The taxi driver left us off 1 street away, which I was glad of when we got there. It looked like a crumbling slum - scaffolds and falling masonry - I was embarrassed to go in. There were 67 steps to get to our room, which was in an attic with a sloped ceiling so that you could not stand up, and both of us hit our heads on the beam that was only 2 feet above the bed. *Breakfast* was barely warm coffee and a stale pre-packed roll in plastic. Room service? You must be kidding, unless you wanted to carry your coffee and roll back into the room. There was not only no internet connection, but staff could not even tell me where in the neighborhood I could get one. Only things right were the location - yes, very close to the Trevi Fountain and the bathroom was clean and in good repair.

I have been to Rome 1 other time. This was a great value for the size and location of the room in the city. It was very safe, but a bit noisy. The staff, especially, Katie, were wonderful, helpful and friendly - spoke good English. When our taxi did not arrive as ordered, Katie personally walked two blocks away to flag one down and bring it directly back to our doorstep so we would make our train on time. If you want to be in the midst of activity, this was a great location, near the bus stops and some main attractions, but a bit far from the subway. The main drawback of our stay was the bathroom sink clogged(on a weekend) and we were unable to use it for 2 days. The shower was quite large for a Rome accommodation. The flight of stairs to get to these 3rd floor units, is treacherous, due to the loose carpet runner. We were 4 ladies traveling together, and this large 2 single bed, 1 king bed unit was quite spacious for all of us. A couple with 2 children would also enjoy this unit. We did not eat breakfast there often, but we had access to the kitchen 24/7 and to the goodies served earlier that day, We brought back meals to eat there and cleaned up after ourselves. If you open your windows, the pigeons perched outside may keep you awake with their cooing!

Very good situation but very bad welcome !! We made the reservation 6 months before, nevertheless the day before we arrived they wrote to tell us they had no more room for the first night !! They sent us to another hotel which conditions were different (no breakfast included, nobody to welcome you, difficulty to get the keys and to give them back...). This cost us a foreign phone call, the taxi to get to and back, the breakfast...). We never saw Maria (the owner). A girl from Roumania welcome us asking for payment before showing the rooms ; There was not much to eat for breakfast : only "biscottes", but no bread !! No breakfast if you leave before 8:30...

It's all about location, location, location. This hotel is walking distance to most everything a tourist wants to see. It's a clean place to sleep and a good price for this high-end location. My room was very small but I'm only there to sleep. The only draw back is its' on the 5th and 6th floor(U.S. floors). Lots of stairs. Will stay again!

DO NOT STAY HERE! We had a terrible experience that I wish I could forget. We arrived at the hotel and walked up to the 3rd floor with our luggage. We checked into our room and noticed the air conditioning was on and the windows were wide open. Anywhere in Europe this is absolutely unheard of. We went to use the bathroom (Quad Room) and noticed a terrible smell. It was late, and we hadn't eaten, so we went to grab something. An hour later we returned and noticed that the smell was still there. The person who checked us in was gone for the evening and we were stuck in this stinky (literally) room. Found out the next morning after sleeping with such a horrible stench that it was the sewer! Found out that they had the problem a few days earlier! And they still let us stay there! So we told the lady at the front that we would be checking out due to the smell. She stated that the problem would be fixed. We agreed that if it wasn't fixed by the time we got back in the afternoon, we would be leaving. Later that afternoon, we checked the room and it still smelled to high heavens! The girl once again said that it had been fixed. As we picked up our bags to leave she called the property manager. He came by and tried to give us a bottle of wine thinking that would smooth things over. He inspected the drain and found that it had not been fixed - that only a rag was shoved down the drain - by the receptionist!!! We again tried to leave, but the manager said we must pay for two nights!!! WHAT! Because we didn't check out at 10am we had to pay for the night. After argueing for about a half an hour we left and found a terrific hotel around the corner for 20 Euro more - well worth it!

We stayed at the 3 Coins Trevi Fountains for 4 nights. The rooms are much smaller than expected but for a short stay it was ok. The room, as well as the bathroom, were clean and this was much appreciated. And it was also very quite, although it was in the middle of the city. We didn't take the breakfast, therefore we cannot comment about this. The B&B is located on the 3rd floor (without lift), which should be mentioned on the homepage. One of the highlights is, that it is very well located, everything can be reached by walking. The only thing we disliked was that the towels were not changed daily. Conclusion: we can recommend this B&B really.

The maid/recepcionst & the owner were not aware that we were arriving. They were unaware of the reservation, too. Fortunately, they turned out to be very friendly & even more fortunately, there was a vacant triple room, which they gave us for the first day (we had to move to other room on the 2nd day). We had a very early flight on arrival, so we cheched in the pensione around 8 AM & had no problems with waiting for the cleaning. B&B is very clean, cozy, at a perfect location, climatized, persoell very pleasant. The only drawback is the narrow staircase to the top floor & small rooms & bathrooms - large or elderly people should have this in mind.

A very nice stay. We would stay here again. The hostess was welcoming and informative. The location is great- within walking distance of many sights (Forum, Palentine, Spanish Steps), and right on major bus routes to take you to others (Catacombs, Vatican, etc.) Everything was clean. The four flights of stairs was a downside, but it made for a quiet retreat in a busy city, so that was nice. Also, our room (one of the cheapest) had a low ceiling, which was annoying, but we knew about it going in, so we can't complain. Breakfast was small but friendly.

Our stay at 3 Coins was fantastic. We went for a three day shortbreak and wanted a nicely decorated room as central as possible at a good value for money. I was impressed by its location...the first thing you find steps away is La Fontana di Trevi!!!. Rooms was small but quite pretty and the shared bathroom was modern and very very clean. Basic breakfast(coffee and pastrie)... we opted for little bar in the corner to start the day in the italian way...Excellent value for money. No lift.

I was told upon arriving that I could not pay with credit card, strictly cash only despite the large sum we owed, however, the morning of check out, I saw another traveller paying by credit card. This, combined with the terrible breakfast consisting of melba toast or stale pre-packaged croissants and jam and the fact you have to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to the reception, were some negatives. The room we occupied was in the attic and had a sloped ceiling and was therefore extremely cramped; claustrophobes beware! However, the B&B is clean (particularly impressed with the bathrooms), there is AC in all rooms along with a small bar fridge, and it is literally steps to the Trevi Fountain making it an excellent location from which to see the sights. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive, clean, and safe place to stay in a central location, I would recommend it.

The B&B was very well located in the centre of Rome, on walking distance of most of the touristic places. Compliments to the hostess Gema. She gave us good tips/suggestions about Rome and made us feel at home. If we come again, we definitely would stay again in the 3 Coins. If a negative point has to be mentioned, it would be variety of the breakfast.

"breakfast" is one mini toast package with jam, and the woman gave me a very dirty look when I came down in the morning to eat. they were helpful with giving directions and advice. the room was on the 4th floor (no elevator) and the ceiling was as tall as my nose, do not stay in room 6 if it can be avoided. shared bathroom worked out fine. location is very central, good for a quick trip but if you are there more than 3 days find somewhere else to stay. (the rooms on the 3rd floor looked nice but the 4th floor is the attic and if you are tall or claustrophobic you will be miserable)

We were delighted with our stay! Gena was warm and welcoming and full of informative suggestions and advice for our Italy trip. The location was beyond excellent - right down the street from the Trevi Fountain, and a quick walk to the Pantheon, Collesseum, Forum, etc. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The property was clean and enjoyable. We had a shared bathroom, and it was in the hallway across from our room and always clean and available. We would definitely stay there again!

We were treated fantastically by Gena(?) at breakfast everyday. If we are going to put the finger on anything, it must be the fact that it is located in the 3rd floor, narrow steps up, so large amount of luggage is not recomended !

This visit to Rome was our first and this b & b was the ideal base for it. It is situated so closely to everything a siteseer would wish for as it so central. Also there are some lovely restaurants very close by. The room was lovely, just like a bedroom in a private house rather than a hotel. The lady who runs it is phenomenal as she can speak 5 languages and is eager to help. I stayed with my husband and we would both be happy to stay there again, although I wouldn't suggest it for young children due to it's being on the third floor with no lift. Otherwise, fantastic!

The B & B was clean and we got an interior room, so it was good for resting. Staff was very friendly and helpful. First night we couldn't get the room we had requiered even though we had booked 2 months in advance and confirmation booking said it was ok. B & B is exactly what you can see in the website pictures, no more or less. Price is super expensive in comparison to other countries B&B we have stayed, but for what we had seen in Rome we got a low price. Location is perfect, and is worth paying for it. 100m from Trevi fountain and 5-10 minutes walking to all places you might want to visit. In the web map it looks like it is located in the front-side of the fountain, it is in the back!. We have been told stories of Rome hotels, and for our experience, we will recomend this one.

There is Bar on right, and new ristorante on the left for B&B enterance. Little plaque on the wall near the door buizzer (3 coins trevi). 2 block walk to the Trevi fountain and your in your own Italian holiday. Stairs are many, 3 or 4 flights. We loved it.

Great place and great location (and quite!). With 2 kids we had a room for 4 big enough for 6.Unbelivable Quality Vs.Price for Italy and the lady speaks a perfect English.

The place is extremely central with all the big sights of Rome in walking distance. Our room was clean as well as the bathroom and only minuses would be the smallness of the room (we both banged our heads into the sloping wall) and the missing of fireescapes and safety arrangement.

I would strongly recommend never to use this facility. We booked our honeymoon stay 7 months in advance to our arrival and on our arrival we noticed that the lady was acting weird. She mentioned that there was a mix up and would have to put us in a room overnight and change us the following day. The next morning she proceeded to advise that we could not have the room booked and paid for. (We had booked double room with private bathroom). When she showed us the room we could have it was a room without a bathroom and tiny. She advised that the bathroom we could use was down the hall but stilled charged us for a double room and private bathroom. She was extremely unhelpful and althought we understand that mistake can happened she made no attempt to do right by us by charging us for what we actually received (room without bathroom). In addition to this there was no lift and we had to carry our bags up 4 flights of stairs.

We did not expect a room in the roof space, with only room to stand up in along one side of the area, up NINE flights of stairs. Basic fire safety facilities such as fire doors, smoke alarms, signed exit routes were non existant. The room for eating breakfast (What there was of it - very frugal) sat only four people. This in a B&B with I think 9 or 10 rooms. All right for two nights, I would not have wanted to stay there any longer.

We are fom Germany and stayed three nights in the B+B 3 Coins Trevi Fountain. The Room (double with private bath): It was very clean, air conditioned and silent. The Location: Really great. Youn can reach everything by feet and see all the amazing attractions of rome on your own. But the rooms are up in the third floor, so you must be able to rise many steps (no elevator). The breakfast: Very poor (some very sweet croisants which were packed in plastic and bad coffee) The employees: Kind, but a little bit too familiar athmosphere. Differences between the advertising page and reality: Photos and discriptions on venere.com are still up to date. All in all: We would book again. It`s okay for a city-trip. You can rest and sleep very well and reach everything by feet. But not more else. Uwe

Also, there were no phones in any of the rooms. There was one phone in the common area, which the manager refused to let us use.
