You won't find a better B&B in the middle of Rome for the money. This is a top floor apartment divided into 3 elegant bedrooms with ensuite showers. The shower in the Golden Room is quite small - I am medium build and struggled to get in. Its bigger in the blue room. I didn't see the inside of the other room. The Golden room is huge with a high ceiling and stunning views of the locality and the Colloseum and a tiny balcony. there is an under exploited roof terrace with even better views - put a table and chairs up there! Breakfasts are simple but hearty - there are strict rules on what can be served in an itialian B&B. Aklesia (the owner) is a great host and does the best cup of tea in Rome. It is noisy - you are in the center of Rome - its like the circus maximus with lunatic driving and horns going all the time. But you can walk to everything and come back in the midday heat - tea and biscuits always waiting! The apartment is at the top of 5 long flights of stairs and the block very old - so no lift! Difficult to find too - only a tiny brass plaque outside - keep your eyes peeled! But you will find everything you need just a few meters from your front door and very good value - we ate so well and spent so little! Only a minor issue - the rooms are what the english would call 'en suite' - not a 'suite' per se - 'suite' to the english means a sitting room as well as a bedroom and shower. But the room is large with seating and table so no problem. This was a special holiday and we can't wait to go back to Aklesia again.

I've stayed at Aklesia Suite B&B twice, and I highly recommend it! The accommodations were exactly as described, and the owners, Aklesia and Gianfranco were friendly, warm, and welcoming. Being only five minutes from both the Colosseo ruins and the Colosseo metro station, it's in a very convenient location.

Had a great time @ Aklesia B&B! Aklesia and Gianfranco are wonderful hosts. The location provides easy access to ancient Rome (the Forum and Palatine Hill). It is a 40 minute walk, for those who like, to Vatican City, and even on a hot day, which it was, it can be done with ease. Pick your route(s) and enjoy the city. We stayed for 2 nights at the end of a two week trip to Germany and Italy. We were a bit gassed and had been to Rome before so we were very casual in what we took in. The only downside may be for those who struggle with stairs, as it is on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. HOWEVER, Aklesia and Gianfranco could not be more helpful and accommodating. Not only did they suggest some out of the way, atypical sites, but offered good ideas for eating near by. It was a great way to end our trip

Aklesia and GianFranco have been very welcoming and wonderful hosts. They provided us with lots of excellent recommendations. The apartment is spacious, clean, and very pleasant. The neighborhood, next to the Colosseum and all the "Antiqua Roma" attractions, is very vibrant. Surrounded by superb trattorias and pizzerias, it is clearly up-and-coming. Not to be missed. It didn't bother me, but those who have trouble climbing almost 4 flights of stairs should know that there is no elevator in this property.

Aklesia and Gianfranco were outstanding hosts. Our flight arrived early morning and they had our room ready to go so we were able to shower and start the day refreshed. Conveniently located just blocks away from the Colosseum/Forum as well as key Metro stops. Aklesia was so friendly and very helpful telling us good places to eat and the best way to get to places. They were always available to answer our questions or just to visit. One important note..if you are not in good physical shape, you may find the 5 flight of steps (no elevator) with luggage to the rooms too much. For us, no problem. We stayed in the blue room that had a view of the Colosseum and local churches (the ringing bells were lovely). Room and bed linens were always very clean and it also had air condition. Would definitely stay again.

We spent 5 nights here and highly recommend it. Aklesia was a fabulous hostess- so solicitous and helpful. Breakfast was great - plentiful and filling. The room has double-paned windows and an a/c, which made sleeping at night quiet and comfortable. The location, near the Colosseum, was wonderful. The nearby Coloseo metro stop was very convenient, and lots of buses run along Via Labicana.

Outstanding! If you are looking to capture the sights of Rome as well as live and breathe all that Rome has to offer, Aklesia Suite B&B is absolutely the perfect place to stay! It is centrally located within the heart of Rome and is impeccably clean and stylishly decorated. However, the most wonderful aspect of this B&B are its owners, Aklesia and Gianfranco. Not only are they the most charming and honest couple you will meet, they go above and beyond to ensure that your stay here is the best that it can possibly be. We loved our stay in the "Golden View" suite which was absolutely gorgeous -- Pure Italian style! It was large and airy with high ceilings, a cute balcony, and a very comfortable bed. The large windows provided spectacular views of the surrounding sites as well as breathtaking sunsets! However, the part we enjoyed most was being serenaded to sleep each evening and welcomed to each new day by the soft sounds of Roman life. We fondly called this "La musica di Roma," and was one of the best memories of our magical stay. Each morning we were cheerfully greeted by the lovely Aklesia who welcomed us into her kitchen. She graciously provided a wonderful assortment of delicious breakfast items such as pastries, cereal, yogurt, juice, tea, and of course....caffe! Aklesia definitely made sure that she sent her guests off satisfied and ready to take on their day of adventure. There just aren't enough superlatives to describe Aklesia B&B. Simply put, it's fabulous! Aklesia and Gianfranco made us feel more like family than mere guests thru their genuine kindness and desire to help us understand and appreciate the complexities of Roman life. They were always enthusiastic and willing to offer excellent advice or suggestions for dining, site seeing, shopping, entertainment, and transportation options. At Aklesia B&B, we felt as if we experienced living in Rome rather than just passing thru as tourists. For that we thank our new friends,

My wife and I were delighted with our stay at Aklesia B&B. The lovely, eponymous Aklesia was attentive to all our needs. We especially enjoyed our conversations with her at breakfast. Gianni was---dare I say it?---Gianni on the spot; more than once he pulled the fat out of the fire. Gianni and Aklesia are warm and gracious, the best B&B hosts we've ever had, and we've been fortunate to have many good ones. We could see the Colosseum from our window, a beautiful sight. The room was comfortable and clean. Despite the snow and ice (we lucked out, February 2012), we walked nearly everywhere. The Historical Center is walking distance from Aklesia, though it's also easy to take the underground from the Termini, which is a couple of blocks from the B&B. We strongly recommend the Luzzi restaurant for dinner, only a short walk from Aklesia B&B. The food there is excellent (it's always a good sign when a restaurant is filled nightly with locals), and we met interesting people there (the seating is "family style"). We found a great wine bar, called Cul de Sac; it's just off Piazza Navona.

Gianfranco and Aklesia were very warm and caring hosts during our 5 nights stay in Rome. Excellent breakfast, a surprise tea and coffee when we came back late afternoon. Very clean bed and bathroom. They also offered good tips on restaurants, transportation and sites to see. We will certainly book again if available.

A wonderful place to stay in Rome! Aklesya, Gianni (and not forgetting Fragolina the dog!) are wonderful, fun and welcoming hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and you are made to feel like part of the family. The B&B itself is on the 4th floor of the building and is a wing of Aklesya & Gianni's home. You have your own double bedroom, large bathroom/shower, a small living area plus another small balcony bedroom should you need it. It is at the back of the building and so is pretty quiet. We will definately return when next in Rome!

Her hospitality and her kindness make this stay unforgettable. The room is in "roman style" and that is also apart. The morning starts with breakfast in the kitchen and Aklesia informs you about everything you want to know. We had a wonderful stay at Aklesia's. The B&B is perfectly located at 5mn walk from the Colosseum. Aklesia is a very nice person who makes everything to make you feel at home. The room is big with a little lounge and a beautiful and comfortable bathroom. There is also a spare bed on a mezzanine for children or friends. The breakfeast was good and large enough. You have the choice and Aklesia will ask you what you lke. It was really like staying at a friend's home. All the major sites of Rome are at walking distance except the Vatican which you can go to with the Metropolitan (8mn Walk). I really would recommend this B&B to everyone wanting for a big Week End in Rome. I really think I was lucky to find this place as Rome is very expensive elsewhere for as good quality.

we have had a realy nice vacation in aklesia's B&B. Our host were realy sweet and take care about us. The place located just near by the Colosseum was great, but not realy central for the restaurant; but all can be do by foot or buses. The suite was nice, clean and the bathroom was elegant. The breakfast was copious but not remarkable.I give 7/10 on relationship between price and quality because i find that it is a little bit expensive, but it's not the point of only this B&B, i find that a place to stay in Rome is to expansive! So, I do recommande this B&B where we had a pleasant time.

What can we say other than PERFECT! We had a fabulous 5 days in Rome a lot of that was down to having a totally hassle free and very welcoming stay at the Aklesia B&B. The accommodation was gorgeous, spotless and in an ideal location, two minutes walk to the Coliseum and surrounded by lots of great places to eat in the afternoon and evening. Yes, it is on the third floor up quite a few steps but don't let this put you off as you will be missing out if you do! Aklesia is the best hostest you could wish for; attentive, helpful and very, very sweet. Aklesia and her family welcomed us like friends and we feel very lucky to have found such a fab place to stay with such wonderful people to stay with. Thank you Aklesia and we very much hope to see you again soon!!

To those of you reading this review, take heed this is a gem of a place that deserves praise for its location, the welcome provided and the space of rooms. The hosts could not have been more attentive or helpful and it is definately a place to return to. You were made to feel like part of the family and it was saddening to leave. The only negative, after a long hard days walking around the sites was to climb four flights of stairs and this was sometimes hard going. More due to us being unfit I think in fairness!!! Feels sad to give it such a good review as more people will want to go and leave less opportunity for me to return. :-) In the box for travellers, I've had to put other as we are neither mature nor young, depends on your point of view I suppose 40's.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The hosts are welcoming, helpful and very sweet. So close to everything. We felt as if we were in our own apartment in Rome. We got to Rome fairly early in the morning and were accommodated in terms of our check in. We will stay here the next time we are in Rome. To get to the apartment there are 4 flights of stairs. We did not have any problem with it. We were helped by the owners with our luggage both up and down the stairs. Breakfast was simple, yet everything was fresh and was just enough to start our day. We highly recommend this B and B as a place to call home while you are in Rome.

We completely enjoyed our 4-day stay in Rome, not the least because of the B&B we had chosen. It is an accomodation with character, comfort (perfect bathroom facility!) and I believe something extra, like a small space with sofa, TV and fridge, next to the sleeping room, to relax from a day in Rome. The room is at the back of the building, so no street noise. Akklesia is a very nice and social lady, and prepared daily a good breakfast table. The location is perfect so to say: some 400 m from the Collosseum, and loads of nice restaurants (Akklesia did some good recommendations). Would definitely choose this again - thanx Akklesia! Oke, 1 minus (especially for older people): you have to climb some 5 staircases before you reach your door.

Great host and for sure the best location for visiting Rome! I have tried around 10 places on my private and professional trips to Rome and there are important things that are offered by this apartment, but dont take it for granted even in hotels: 1. Individual aircondition which works perfectly. Cools down the apartment no matter of the outside temperature and is placed in the entrance so that it does not disturb you while sleeping. 2. Quiet as opposite to the street 3. Mattress quite hard, but great compared to all the old and soft mattrasses in the four star hotels or private accomodations. This accomodation is as well worth its price. I will return, if the apartment is free during my next trip to Rome.

We had a great stay in Aklesia B&B - Suite Colosseo. The apartment rooms and bathroom are very clean and well furnished and there are very good sleeping conditions. The suite is very well located in the center of the town in a quiet and safe area (not more than 100 m from Colloseo), with immediate access to metro and buses stations, wich, by the way, you might not need since most of the touristic objectives are on walking distances. There was also a loft bed that we didn't use but would be good for a kid or two. The bathroom was beautiful with a huge tiled tub and fresh flowers. It is on a busy street but at the back of the building so was not noisy. The metro stop was just a couple of blocks away, and the colosseum and forum about the same distance. The breakfast was great with yoghurt, bread, butter, jam, cereal, and fruit. Best of all was our beautiful host Aklesia who was so helpful and nice, and speaks excellent English so was able to anwer all our questions. Aklesia and her family are lovely people, who welcomed us as friends, into their home. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Our room was gorgeous, like staying in a five star hotel. Breakfast was very generous, as much as we could eat and really tasty. Aklesia chatted away to us, and made us feel like visiting friends, not paying guests, which was great. The B+B is only a few minutes walk from the Colosseum, so a fabulous location. I can't recommend Suite Colosseo highly enough. Thanks Aklesia for a very memorable stay. Elena.

We have never had such a welcoming host, the friendliness and the way we were virtually made part of the family was exceptional. These are really nice people, it's the extra touches like always making you drinks no matter what part of the day and being genuinely interested in your day that makes the difference. The room was very tastefully decorated and the shower was something else.
