The B&B Paris 144 is housed on the second floor of a modern building in central Paris.
The décor is simple and comfortable creating a very peaceful atmosphere.
Thanks to its central location in Paris guests will easily reach all the city's interesting monuments and museums, thanks to the vicinity of different underground stations (there is an underground station 100 meters/328 feet away from the B&B) and the train station.

Our room was very small but clean and comfortable with shared bathroom facilities. The decor was bland and there was no television/radio etc. The hostess was very welcoming and the coffee was great. If you're just looking for a place to sleep that's only a 15min walk to the city this is good value for money

Dont be surprised, if you are hosted at home of an elderly woman. But dont fear, she's not going to take you as adopted grand-children! For us, she didn't intrude us or our privacy at all. If you wanted to chat at breakfast, she does, but she isn't urging you you talk with her.

The owner of the house seemed to be nice, but she did not speak English at all. She did not allow us to take a shower after 10 p.m. The room we stayed in was different from the picture on the venere.com web site. If you speak french and don't plan to come home late, I'd definately recommend this place to stay, but in our case staying there was a big mistake.

The room was quite big and quiet, it was extremely clean and well decorated. The owner of the house was very pleasant and polite and spoke at least three languages, which was very useful in mi case because I don't speak french. I found just one problem, the adress of the B&B was incomplete, there was no floor indicated in the adress and we had to ask the caretaker to call to the owner of the B&B, so maybe this is a thing to improve in further bookings.

France, Oct 2005
When we arrived in Paris we followed the directions provided on the venere sight to get to the B&B Italia, which were good. We were looking for some sort of signage to lead us to the B&B only to find that it was an elderly lady's apartment with a room. The bathroom facilities were shared, which we were aware of, however, there was a leak in the cupboard and we were not given new towels after 4 days. The place was advertised to have a colour TV in the room but the TV was nowhere in sight. There was a lack of privacy with the owner commenting on what time we got home the previous evening at breakfast times. On the most part we felt as though we were intruding. Although, to be fair she did recommend to us some nice places to visit. Although she did not speak a word of English, we were able to communicate with the little French that we knew. The location too was a little out of the way, i.e. not a close as we would have liked to the main attractions. It's a 10 minute walk to the line one metro but about another 10 minute or more journey on the train to main attractions. This type of accomodation is not suited to a couple seeking a romatic weekend away, that's if you don't mind feeling like you are spending it with your grandma anyway. Overall disappointing, as we found out afterwards we could have stayed at a three star hotel for the same price. Definatley would not stay there again, we couldn't get out fast enough.
