Bed and Breakfast O'Scià - Palermo
Via Garibaldi 8 - Palermo
877-662-6988The B&B, located on the second floor of an Art Nouveau building, ensures you a memorable stay in this outstanding city.
The area is characterized by typical Sicilian markets and colour full narrow streets- pervaded by the fascinating atmosphere of ancient times - that preserves works of art, compendium of the greatest civilisations and cultures of all time.
Very well located, very clean, the best breakfast we had in Sicily and very very nice family in charge of this place. The care each detail.

I went to Palermo for the first time with my daughter to see the other face of Italy, a Souther town with his own culture and history. Who wants to go to Palermo will never be disappointed. It is a quite small town, you can walk all around; food is excellent, try "Trattoria da Salvo" in Piazza Kalsa, "Pizzeria Frida" near Teatro Massimo and the typic "Nni Franco u vastiddaru", in Piazza Marina, with his triple sandwich. Mr and Mrs Mazzola are kind with their guests and do not hesitate to give you useful informations about the restaurants and tourist attractions. If you want to rest before an evening walk, go to Piazza Rivoluzione's QUIVI BAR, just 3 minutes from the B&B to have a drink and eat something sicilian. O'scia is a great place to go, but ask the staff WHEN BOOKING to reserve a QUIET ROOM for you, otherwise this will ruin your stay and it is not worthwhile. Palermo is one of the best town I've ever been and O'Scia is surely the best place to rest!

There is no parking at this BB. Try to avoid rooms on the street side (noisy).

Despite limited english, and our very limited italian, they organised credit card payment at another B&B, they went out and bought(for 2 euro) an electrical adaptor plug for us, they advised security warnings for public places, they brought warm fresh pastries from the bakery for breakfast..... the neighbourhood was "vibrant" in one direction, quiet and old in a Palermo sort of way in another,

We were warmly greeted by the proprietor with a caffe when we arrived. He took the time to sit down and make suggestions for things to do in our evening in Palermo awaiting our trip to the airport the next morning. He also gave us pointers about safety which were very helpful This b&b is in what seems to be a safe area yet very close to the train station, so we were able to get in and out of the city easily. The proprietor also drove us to the train station at 5 a.m. to catch our bus to the airport. The mini-bar was stocked with water, sodas and items reasonably priced.

The accommodations and the management were excellent. We were not so happy with Palermo itself, so spent more time than we expected leaving the city, which was a hair-raising undertaking even for people used to city driving. Therefore, we would advise staying at Bed & Breakfast O' Scià, but limiting the stay in downtown Palermo to one day or so.

Wonderful hotel in a charming early 20th century building. All old details are restored and in excellent, fresh painted condition. Beautiful, big rooms. Very warm welcome by the owners. Delicious breakfast.

Arrived late, around 11 PM - a bit dodgy neighbourhood. Didnt feel unsafe though, as prostitutes and blacks dont scare me. Was really hungry from a long days travel when I came to the hotel. Everything around was closed, so theres was nothing to eat. But the lady owner made us a nice spaghetti meal so that was excellent. She also spoke some english, as apposed to her husband the owner who did not. Stayed only one night, should have stayed for another as Palermo is a big and fairly interesting city.

We enjoyed our stay at this B&B very much. The rooms were clean and I appreciated the styish furniture. The bed was good to sleep in although ( as in most places in Italy) you should use earplugs for a good night's sleep. The owners of this place were very friendly and offered all kind of help. The breakfast was very untypical for Italians. It was much too much but very tasty and the hosts were very keen on offering all typical kind of Sicilian pastries . The place was easy to reach although I didn't like the neighbourhood.I really can recommend this place , if you just want to have a nice room for relaxing before you are on your way through the city again. The only problem for me were the many signs in very bad English translations. They really made me laugh very heartily but I did't dare to tell them, because everybody tried so hard to keep us satified and it did not seem right to criticize. But actually someone should tell them sometime.

The owners made us feel like at home, or part of the family. Paolo even came to the train station to pick us there and take us to the B&B. He even drove us to the airport when we left. Angela cooked us a geniune sicilian dinner. They gave us good advice. The place is very well decorated, the breakfast delicious . The only hic is the noise (inside and outside). Bring some ear plugs.

We stayed in Palermo for 4.5 days. Eventhough we arrived late in the evening the staff was there to give us a warm welcome. During our stay they were very helpfull to give us information about restaurants en car rental. From breakfast to bedtime they were there to pamper you. Very nice to come back in your room after a day in the city to find some fresh fruit in the room. All kind of small things makes you feel welcome. The only minus is that the B&B is next to a road, but they informed us that they are planning to get double glass windows on a short term. I would recommand it to any couple!
