Our second stay at Casa di Zoe was just as good as the first several years ago. The property is stunning - huge rooms in our suite with great period furniture. The staff very friendly and accommodating and the location fantastic for the sights and scenes of Palermo. Whenever we're next in Palermo I know we won't hesitate to stay here again.

A great B&B, right in the centre of Palermo on one of the nicest streets. Easy to reach from the train station. Very welcoming and friendly.

Gerino e-mailed prior to our arrival as well as telephoned on the mobile number we had obtained for our stay in Europe to be certain he or Monica would be there to greet us. The facilities in the B&B are absolutely lovely, plenty of hot water and a spacious sitting room, bathroom and bedroom. Via Roma is very busy, but we had no problem sleeping and with the air conditioning on, even the buzz of the late night motorcycles was much muffled. The breakfast was excellent with delicious cappucino. The other guests were friendly and interesting as well. Palermo is a somewhat challenging city, but we felt very safe, there was a wonderful restaurant right across Via Roma up a side alley, and we enjoyed a fantastic festa of the Virgin Mary in the piazza to the back of the building. Casa di Zoe is located in the heart of the historic district and it is easy walking to all of the main sights. We took city buses to both Monreale and Mondello and enjoyed our 3 days in Palermo. The only issue was that Gerino's credit card machine (electronic) could not make contact with his bank, so we ended up paying with cash after making an extra trip to the ATM machine.

The city noise is awful by night, even when the windows are closed, and you can't rest before 3 a.m.

Sicuramente un B&B da consigliare!Le camere sono molto ampie e pulite. Il viale su cui si affaccia è effettivamente un po' rumoroso, ma la location è perfetta per visitare città e dintorni.

We stayed in 11 places in Sicily and Italy during a 4 week holiday in April/May and we rated La Casa di Zoe as the best overall value for money. 10 out of 10 to the staff - Gerino(who speaks good English) who gave helpful information by email, by phone and in person, and Monica who provided a welcoming breakfast and was a happy presence in the B&B. La Casa di Zoe is a 10 minute walk from Palermo railway and bus stations - some other reviews complained that it was difficult to find because it didn't have a special sign outside but we found that it was easy to find as long as you knew the number and street (Via Roma 171). I phoned Gerino the night before to give him an idea of our expected arrival time, and Monica was there to welcome us when we rang the bell. We had specifically asked for a room with an internal bathroom and we found the room to be spacious and in very good decorative order. Breakfast was served in the kitchen (which guests were free to use at other times also). Monica supervised the breakfast and was a cheerful presence in the B&B. Yes of course there was noise from the traffic on one of the principal roads in Palermo, but we expected this - it was not a problem during the night and no-one comes to a B&B in Palermo to sit in their room all day! (There is lots to see in Palermo, and it's a great base - we stayed a week in the city and had day trips to Segesta, Agrigento, Monreale and Cefalu). Overall this accommodation gets 10 out of 10 from us, and if we ever get the chance to go to Palermo again we would certainly try to book again). Grazie per tutto Gerino e Monica, siamo stati molto bene!

La Casa di Zoe is a really nice place, the rooms a very big, one of them had a little dining room and the other had a mini-living room. They are all very nicely decorated as well as the bathrooms. It even had free internet connection! The bad things: we had to wait outside for about 20 minutes for somenone to open us the door, the breakfast was barely OK and we had trouble sleeping because the street right next to our room was full of bars and there were people screaming (even playing an improvised soccer game!) 'til 3-4 am!

Just a few minutes' walk from the train station where the bus dropped us from the airport, this place was fantastic - basically a very large flat in an amazing old residential building - spotless, comfy & utterly charming with the most wonderful furniture, some painted to match the floral print of the curtains - perfectly lovely. & the stafff were as pleasant as could be and endlessly patient with our non-existant Italian to boot. The only negative was that the water pressure in the shower wasn't great, but it certainly did not spoil our visit.

My husband and I travelled to Palermo to make a train connection to Rome. For a number of reasons we did not find Palermo to be the ideal tourist destination, however, the excellent accommodation together with the friendly and helpful proprietor at La Casa di Zoe made our stay memorable. This B&B would suit tourists of all ages.

Endroit hautement recommandable !

There were 4 of us who arrived in Palermo on two separate flights. Gerino had arranged for two drivers to pick us up and bring us to the B&B and show us our rooms and the facilities. Everything was set up very effectively and the drivers were very friendly. The facilities were great! The rooms were large, comfortable and clean. Though we were facing the big road, we didn't hear much of the street noise with the balcony doors closed and the air conditioning on. The other couple I was with didn't like the fact that the washroom, that was available for their exclusive use, was across the hall; however, they loved their gigantic room. Our room had an ensuite washroom that was of a decent size. One of our luggages didn't arrive, and we were having difficulty communicating with the people at the airport. We simply mentioned to Gerino, our contact at the B&B, that we needed to go to the airport to talk to them about our lost luggage, and he offered to call the airport on our behalf. He clarified everything with the airport, gave them the address of our next destination, and saved us from a trip to the airport. Gerino was extremely friendly, hospitable and helpful. I can't say enough great things about him! He made the difference between an good/acceptable stay to an exceptional stay at La Casa di Zoe.

Overall quite a good place to stay. Rooms were big and clean and the girl who met us and owner are very friendly. However, the woman who does breakfast reminded us of the woman in the Tom and Jerry cartoons. We didn't appreciate being forcefully woken in the morning and she wasn't the politest of people; thankyou's can be understood in any language. We also weren't expecting to have to walk down the hall with a key to get into our bathroom, the room was not ensuite. The facilities and proximity were great, and the owner and first girl we met were great too. It's true about the noise in the street but we expected that so didn't mind so much!

The only problem is, that you cannot find it becuase there is no sign on the house. We walked several times on the house and did not recognice, that there is an hotel... That would be nice, to make a sign there.

The owner was amazing and more than willing to guide us in the right direction. The enterance to the B&B leaves lot to be desired but the rooms are magnificent. There is no shuttle to the airport however and the internet was not working. This place was good value for money and i would stay here again.

Great B&B, located in the city center, this is why it is a bit noisy! Rooms are really impressive, very icely decorated, large, clean, great bathrooms... The owner is very welcoming and helpfull. The room maid, also in charge of your wake up and breakfast is very enthousiast and very funny, to see! Thank you Domenica!
