Abalì Gran Sultanato B&B - Palermo

We stayed at Abali for 5 Nights during easter 2012 and had a Triple-Room together with our daughter (13). The location is in the middle of the historic old city of Palermo, so that you can reach all the places of interest by feet. The Abali is no luxury hotel, and we probabely would not stay there for a 2 Weeks relaxing Holiday. But for an intense Sightseeing trip to the lovely city of Palermo with a friendly place to stay overnight or for a few days and with acces to interesting and authentic local and international people the Abali is exactly the right thing. The rooms are clean, spacious, individually designed and good for sleeping. The guests are international and mostly very open minded. Vito is a very helpful host and introduced all guests to each other. We had very interesting conversations mostly during breakfast time and felt very much "at home" at Abali. We had a fantastic short holiday at Palermo with lots of very nice memories and that has a lot to do with Vito and his Abali Gran Sultanato.

Unique, funky, and great price.

Very nice B&B with a great theme! The owners really did their best to make it a very nice and calming place in the city center of Palermo. If you come by car though, it is hard to find a parking space around.

The B&B is located on the 4th floor of an appartment building in the centre of Palermo; There is no parking possible right at the B&B as there is a street market in front of the building. Parking is possible near by but prepare yourself for manouvering/reversing in very narrow streets. We stayed only 1 night so it did the job but wouldn't like to stay there any longer. The level of cleanliness was poor. It seemed that our room & bathroom wasn't cleaned at all after the previous ocupants and that they only changed the sheets. The bin in the bathroom wasn't emptied and the bathroom and mirror needed cleaning. The breakfast offer was rather poor with 1 croissant per person, we ran out of butter and there was no staff to get us some more. The jam spread I put on my toast must have been past it's sell by date as it tasted rather odd. There was mould in the kettle. Apart from the good location there is no reason for staying there.

Great location. decorations a bit esoteric but fun. big bedroom + good ensuite. when leaving the next day, asked could we leave our luggage, told no problem + feel free to use shower again before going - very nice. would defiitely stay again con: bread for breakfast not fresh.
