I spent one night at Gioia in Padova. I can't say enough about how gracious Lorenzo is as a host. The B&B is beautiful, modern and very clean. We were met by the very pleasant and helpful Puya who offered us drinks and spent some time orienting us to the place and to Padova. Lorenzo will make for you the best cappuccino or espresso in the morning in his nice spacious kitchen. I will definitely go back to Padova in the future and without a doubt will stay at Gioia. I also need to mention that Gioia's location is excellent. It is within a walking distance from Ferrovia (the train station) and also within short walk to all buses and electric tram.

Brilliant B&B. Lorenzo made us very welcome and gave us information on what to see in Padova, using the trams, where to eat and so on. Our room was spacious and clean as was the bathroom next door. Gioia looks very ordinary from the outside but is beautifully decorated and arranged inside and was very quiet. It is really close to the station especially if you use the underpass and easy to find. Padova itself is well worth visiting - we spent 2 days there and could have spent more. There is also lots to see in the region as well as Venice.

Breakfast was not good at all. Coffee was not given freely. They insisted on cash payment & I had booked with credit card, but would not take it. We had to run to an ATM to get cash to pay. TV was never offered in public room, very cold environment & neighborhood questionable. Very close to train was the only good thing. Very disappointing.

Lorenzo is one of the great hosts. Seems he can't do enough for you and he's a lovely man. My only complaint was with the breakfast. It's mainly prepackaged stuff and rather bland for western tastes. If you're looking for your bacon and eggs on toast this is not the place and he didn't have any weetbix (that's okay, no-one else in Italy has either!) or basic cornflakes (though he did have similar type things). If coffee is your go however, he's got the full machine there and can do coffee, tea or hot chocolate to your liking. The room we had was of the highest quality and it exuded class. Women will love this place. There's a computer with internet access and that is a huge plus as far as I'm concerned. It's a bit tricky to find if you're using the map supplied by the tourist people because it's just out of range. To get there from the centre you cross the railway bridge and go through the first gap in the posts on the way back down. Tricky, but you can do it.

Only slightly down on points because the breakfast is a little unimaginative, but there's plenty of it. Lorenzo is a great host and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.

Excellent high-standard spacious accomodation. Host very friendly and very obliging. Location very convenient to railway station and within an easy walk to old town (really). Greatly enjoyed our visit to Padua. The Giotto frescos in the Capella Scrovegni alone are worth the trip.

Absolutely perfect! Lorenzo, the owner, had a printed weather forecast each day and even though minimal English, advice re Padua and surrounds were understood. Gioia walking distance to railway station, Venice 20 minutes away (Stay here if you don't want to stay in Venice). Padua a lovely, clean historical city, well worth visiting. Nearby countryside beautiful. Gioia affordable luxury accommodation (we had double room)

The B&B was extremely clean; the bed was so comfortable and our host, Lorenzo, was very gracious. Convenient to the train station, but when we returned by foot late at night, the train station area made us a little uncomfortable. The B&B bathrooms were the nicest we've had. Too bad we didn't have time to use the sauna! Thank you!

Padova was our first stop after Venice, on our way to Tuscany and Rome. Lorenzo, the owner at Gioia, is a darling. He makes your stay worthwhile. He is kind, informative, attentive. We happened to be in Padova around Easter holidays, so the town itself was busy with local events etc. It was good to be in an area removed from the hustle-bustle. Good choice for the price, if you don't mind walking into the center of town and consider being close to the train station a plus.

Lorenzo, the magnificent, was a wonderful host. The best place we stayed during our trip (a total of 12 b&b/hotels). So many little things Lorenzo did for us, every day was a treat eg, downloading information from the net, showing us his favourite church and even allowing us to view a private palazzo by the C18th architect Frigimelica. Great coffee, great bathroom, the room was generous, quiet and the bed (new) very comfortable. I'm an fussy architect and it was perfect for us (a couple).

Our host, Lorenzo, was probably the nicest person we met in Italy - an absolute prince. Our room was also one of the best in 26 nights of hotels and pensiones during our trip. I only wish that Gioia was in a more attractive neighborhood; walking to it from the train station was a little scary - take a taxi.

We had an amazing stay. The pictures you see are what you get. We would go back again and again. We loved the owner Lorenzo. It was like staying at a friends house.
