Bed and Breakfast Sant'Andrea - Orvieto

This was a lovely quaint little B&B and we very much enjoyed our stay there. The host was extremely accommodating and went out of his way for our comfort. It is very convenient to the major attractions in Orvieto and to many good restaurants. Our only surprise was credit cards were not accepted and we had to fish into our stash of Euros.

We were enchanted with the room and the building. Unfortunately the internet service, phones in rooms, and laundry facilities did not exist as advertised, and they were an important part of our decision to reserve here. Breakfast was toast and various bread products plus coffee, tea and juice at a nicely set table complete with a vase of fresh flowers. Overall, not worth the price.

Our first trip to Orvieto. A quaint little town. We did the underground tour which was very interesting. We traveled to Bangnoriggio and Chivita on the public bus system. Don't forget your Dramamine, it is quite a wild ride if you are prone to motion sickness, but well worth the trip.

Our stay at Sant Andrea B-and-B was very disappointing, especialy for the price we had to pay (for just 5 EUR more we had stayed at a pretty good 4-star hotel in the centre of Rome the days before!). The room was dark, small, extremely basic (furniture etc.), the bed uncomfortable (saggy mattress), bathroom rudimentary, breakfast almost unedible (we brought our own stuff - the coffee came from a thermos, there was no real bread, the cake was stale, there was no fruit or joghurt - it was quite miserable). The living room resembled more a mobile home than a living room, with plastik table cloth etc., not nice. All in all not at all a place we would recommend.

Ideally situated centrally in old Orvieto, with charming rooms and an enthusiastic and very welcoming host.

The proprietor of Sant'Andrea is very hospitable, and the rooms he offers are quaint and authentically Umbrian. This is an excellent and affordable choice of accommodation for those looking to stay in a lovely home in this picturesque mountain village.
