Bed and Breakfast Ripa Medici - Orvieto

Orvieto is a quiet place with great scenery. Ripa Medici is located in an area of town overlooking landscapes. Breakfast place has a window that makes you see nature while having a meal. Sabrina is a wonderful person, very accomodating and kind.

Ripa Medici was a great B&B. Spacious and spotlessly clean room, panoramic view of Umbrian countryside, and Sabrina was a great hostess. The breakfast she made for us was the best mornig meal we had in Italy. As I told her, I want give them (not five stars but) ten stas!!!

This appartment was perfect for our family of four with two small children. My 7 year-old daughter sat at the window taking photos into the night. The hosts went beyond the call of duty in offering friendly help and guidance after our arrival was delayed by various disasters. Really good English. Beautiful appartment. A wonderfully happy and comfortable feeling.

Approaching Orvieto is a beautiful sight seeing this walled hilltop city amidst the rolling hills in Umbria. Then the view from Sabrina's B&B Ripa Medici out towards the hills is stunning. The accomodations are lovely. The apartment is beautifully decorated, with beautiful hand-painted furnishings, perfectly appropriate for the country setting. Getting to the apartment with our rental car was difficult. We had a bit of trouble with the directions and I definitely recommend a way to reach Sabrina on her cell phone. Parking was simple and very convenient to the location of the B&B. From the B&B, Sabrina will give you a map of the town and get you situated so you can get out to explore. It is quite easy to walk to everything within Orvieto. Orvieto is a great little town with great restaurants and shops. I also highly recommend the Underground Tunnel tour that explains the history of Orvieto. Sabrina recommended a great restaurant just steps from the B&B...Trattoria Mezza Luna (casual restaurant serving typical regional dishes). Prices were very reasonable, portions were generous and the food was delicious. Upon waking up, Sabrina prepared a very generous and delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, fresh tomato salad, pancetta (Italian bacon), among loads of fresh, homemade pastries and cakes. It was a delight staying there and I highly recommend this stop when travelling through the countryside!

Love this place. Would stay again and would refer friends and family. Place is a little challenging to find I would recommend to call in advance for specific directions. Owner speaks great english. Orvieto is beautiful, go there!

This was the best overall quality/price deal we had for a 20 day Italian trip. The owner was beyond gracious and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with eggs to order, typical meats and pastries, hot chocolate etc. The B&B is on the edge of the Orvieto cliff with outstanding views of the country side. Furnishings and decor are tastefully done. The owner suggested two restaurants, Messo Luna and La Palomba, which were both excellent.

Ripa Medici B&B is an elegant and very comfortable B&B in Orvieto, coveniently located to the centre of the town. The owner, Sabrina, is wonderful and will answer all your questions!

Very nice hotel with a very private atmosphere. Amazing panoramic view to the countryside. Very friendly and attentive mistress. Pretty recommendable.

The room and public area were both lovely... she did a beautiful job of decorating. The owner's mom was terrific ...very sweet and helpful when she greeted us They put out a nice breakfast and coffee supplies each evening for the next morning. The location was ideal, just off the Piazza, but not noisy at all... This is a B&B, not a hotel, so there is no staff onsite. I would definitely recommend the B&B as long as you can be a little self sufficient...

Sabrina is a wonderful host, her cheerful and helpful manner is most welcoming. The view across the valley from the spacious and clean rooms we occupied in the restored ancient building (perched on the very edge of the cliffs) was fantastic. Start the day with an excellent breakfast - make your own expresso if you wish!! Modern bathroom. Separate kitchen and laundry facilities for longer stays is a thoughtful gesture. Excellent location for "doing" Umbria or just a relaxing stay in Ovieto!
