Welcome is an association originating in Umbria with the aim of offering tourists a new kind of holiday. We want to help tourists feel that they are partecipants in Umbrian family life, or provide them with accommodation in comfortable apartments in larger cities or in small medieval villages scattered throughout Umbria.
If you wish to discover the beauty of this region Welcome will look after you by organizing your itinerary day by day. Each family will supply you, upon arrival, with brochures, pamphlets, maps of the area and will be able to tell you all you want to know about this territory.
They can advise you as to the shops where the most genuine typical products can be bought, the most characteristic restaurants where real Umbrian cuisine can be enjoyed, the artisans who still use old techiniques in their workshops. By turning to Welcome, you will be able to see Umbria through the eyes of its people.
This B&B is in an old palace in the medieval area of Orvieto. The Fashion house “tells” fairy stories about ancient knights and medieval fights.
3 double rooms - 3 bathrooms.

I believe that the palazzo is beautiful but because we were sent to the basement room we never saw it. I think we drew the short straw here because all other rooms were taken and we were sent to a kind of grotto. There was a window but as it was at street level the curtains had to be drawn. The traffic noise was deafening but the window seemed to be jammed open probably to vent the musty smell from the bathroom. The room was delightfully cool though providing some respite from the hot days. Very conveniently located in the middle of town with good car parking. The breakfast was appreciated with cooked eggs.

We were astonished when we saw our quarters. Certainly we couldn't have been so lucky - spacious living room, spacious bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen area, a generously stocked refrigerator and a view out over the valley that knocked our socks off. It was a very enjoyable three nights. In addition, through earlier correspondence, our hostest put us in contact with a local chef who gave cooking classes. The only negative is that we didn't see our hostest again after being given the keys. But, it didn't make any difference. Highly recommended.

This was a wonderful Bed & Breakfast in a home that has been in the proprietess' family for over 300 years. She was extremely attentive and accomodating. She prepared a wonderful breakfast to request. The flat was very spacious and the view outside the room was magnificent. The owner was very helpful regarding restaurant recommendations and sights to see in Orvieto. Note, the best time to view the cathedral is in the late afternoon, when the sun will shine on the facade, which contains beautiful mosaics. We recommend the restaurant, La Palomba, if you like meats (wild boar--a local specialty) and truffles.

A little difficult to find - look for the small signs once you get to the building. Very nice breakfast - we were asked how we wanted our eggs. Building is very old so the place is a little run down. Still - a nice place - owner was extremely nice and breakfast in her place was a treat.

This was absolutely wonderful! The city is charming, the apartment was warm and comforting and our hostess was gracious. We had a lovely stay and breakfast in her home was fabulous. I could not think of a better place to stay while enjoying quaint Orvieto!

GREAT PLACE TO STAY. WE WERE SORRY THAT WE COULD ONLY STAY FOR ONE NIGHT. WE WERE GIVEN A BEAUTIFUL ROOM WITH IT'S OWN KITCHEN AND LIVING ROOM. IT HAD IT OWN COURTYARD WITH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE ORVIETO COUNTRYSIDE. OUR BREAKFAST IN THE OWNERS HOME WAS DELICIOUS, AND HER HOME WAS BEAUTFUL. ORVIETO WAS ONE OF OUR FAVORITE CITIES, AS IT WAS FAR LESS TOURISTY THAN MANY OTHER HILLTOP CITIES. WE WOULD HAPPILY VISIT ORVIETO AND THE PALAZZO DEL CARDINALE AGAIN

Amazing value within the walled town of Orvieto. Entire apartment with king bed. Breakfast in frescoed palace.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was fun being in such a historic building. Our only problem was finding it - took 2 hours driving around Orvieto. Needs a more specific map but well worth the hunt. Delightful hostess & wonderful breakfast.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and the breakfast was the best we had anywhere in Italy. We would definitely stay in this property again

We had the "painted room" pictured on the website. It was indeed enormous and the 17th century frescoes were beautiful. Also, the breakfasts were good. Downsides were: no frontdoor key (so you had to ring the bell whenever you wated to get in); access was through the owners's sittingroom and diningroom (although they hardly seemed to use them); and the bathroom, although private, was across the corridor.

A very pleasant B&B in the heart of Orvieto. The landlady was especially wonderful, spoke good English, and was very friendly and helpful. She cooked breakfast to order, which was bountiful, varied, and tasty. Our apartment (the Double Plus) was spartan, but clean, and complete with kitchen, living room, and loft sleeping area w/ bath - unlike the very picturesque and attractive Double pictured on the website, which was located inside the landlady's own living quarters. However, she permitted us to park in her private parking alcove so we did not have to park elsewhere some distance away - a very thoughtful accommodation on her part. Challenging to find within the confines of this midieval town, it was located near a number of very good restaurants and shops, making the stay all the more worthwhile, while the landlady's pleasantness sealed the value of staying there. We would not hesitate to stay there again when we ever return to Orvieto!

I would highly recommend this B&B. It is situated in a converted 16th century palazzo in the historical hill-top town. The double bedroom is actually an entire self-contained studio apartment with kitchen (so you can self-cater if you wish), living area and bathroom. The landlady was very welcoming (she speaks English), recommended places to visit and provided a delicious breakfast.
