We couldn't be more happy with our stay in Casa Selita! Selita was really lovely from the time we arrived, made us feel like we were staying at our friends'house! The room and the whole house are amazing, and the breakfast was just incredible! Homemade bread, Her own chicken's boiled eggs, different kind of jam, her own olive oil... Wish we could stay longer, we will certainly come back! Thanks, Selita, for everything!

Casa Selita perfectly reflects the unpretentious warmth and graciousness of its proprietress, Selita. I felt comfortable immediately on the terrace, flanked by the big yard. The property sits on the hillside, on the "country" side of Orvieto with beautiful views. It's just a short climb through Selita's back yard to the elevator into town. She provided flashlights in case we came back after dark. We washed clothes and hung them out to dry just as we would have in our own vacation home; they smelled wonderful! Breakfast was great, with homemade preserves and breads, and none of those institutional packets of sugar, jam, etc. Somehow, the ambience made talking with other guests more appealing. If we returned, it would feel like being welcomed to a friend's house.

The view of Orvieto from Casa Selita is overpowering, as is the view of the countryside. Our host was warm and charming, a wonderful first stop on our journey to Tuscany. One consideration. If you are traveling by car, this is a perfect place to stay when visiting Orvieto, it is quiet and bucolic as compared to the imposing stone presence of the city - however, if you are without a car, be prepared to hike straight up the hills through hillside olive groves over a narrow serpentine footpath, up the hillside, up to the road, up through the parking lot, up through the imposing walls by elevator or a series of escalators; do-able, but remember the trip back to your casa - and the last leg down the hillside, back to your room. It is not that far, but it is dark and steep. However, the host graciously supplies a flashlight. I suppose it is the safer way to travel given the temptation for a jet-lagged traveler to indulge in the most delicious pasta and vino around.

Simply-put, the best lodging experience of my 2 week stay in Italy. Personal service provided by Selita and Ennio was wonderful. Idyllic surroundings and excellent location of this B&B were perfect. Especially convenient for travelers with car. You do not have the hassle of entering/exiting Orvieto, yet you still have easy access to city via the elevators at the parking garage just above the property. Top recommendation!

Quaint bed and breakfast just outside of Orvieto. The owner was very welcoming and made us feel at home. Getting to town can be a bit of a challenge as you must hike up the hillside and walk up the side of a road to a parking garage with an escalator. Luckily, they provide you with a flashlight to make it a bit easier. Nonetheless, we would still recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing home away from home.

Casa Selita is a terrifc B&B. Selita and her family are professional, warm and welcoming. The property has been in Selita's family since the 1800's and is bathed in charcater and beauty. The facility is perfectly located that makes for a simply joyful experience. I will remember the sights, delights and aromas for a life time.

We were delighted with our experience. Both Selita and Ennio were very welcoming and extremely helpful with excellent advice for restaurants. Ennio even took us on an excursion to a local winery! Peaceful, lovely setting and the ensuite room was charming - good size, immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Being outside the city walls was helpful - it made it easy to find plus you could park your car on the property. But it was also easy to get into town. Breakfast was extremely convivial with entertaining conversation with Selita, Ennio and the other guests and wonderfully prepared food. Would definately return.

What a great place!! It was a little hard to find but we figured it out. The walk to town was easy (not for older folks though) and the only ding was we stayed out to late and the escalator closed and the walk back was at night was a little dificult. The rooms were beautiful. After staying in cities for a number of nights it was great to wake up in a rural surrounding. Eugene and his wife (sorry forgot your name) were delightful. They gave us great reccomendations for lunch and dinner and both were fantastic. The town is beautiful and enchanting. We only stayed one night but we will be back. Breakfast was great and served in a warm and welcoming setting. Thanks for your hospitality and beautiful casa.

We needed to say close to Orvieto but with good and easy access to surroundings and with parking (to avoid the dreaded ZTL zones!) Casa Selita was excellent. Good advice re restaurants in Orvieto.Pleasant gardens and good views over the countryside. We were made very welcome.

Casa Selita was by far the BEST B&B we stayed at while travelling throughout Italy. It is perfectly situated just outside the city walls, which is much better than staying inside walled cities, as we learned from our travels to Lucca (you can spend hours trying to navigate the un-named streets only to then have to quickly unload your bags and then move your car elsewhere). The owner of Casa Selita was extremely friendly and accommodating. Her English was very good and she even talked politics with us for a good amount of time. Our room was very large, clean and beautifully decorated. It was sort of like having your own apartment since the property is set-up more like a villa with each room having its own outdoor entrance and patio space. You can leave your car on the property and then walk through the yard up to the parking lot which has the elevator or escalator up into the city. It's very safe and convenient. Breakfast in the morning was again, the best experience we had with B&B's in Italy. Knowing that we were Americans and like eating things other than pastries/sweets for breakfast, they offered cheeses, meats and yogurt in addition to the traditional breads and sweets.
