We stayed 2 nights at Nice Home Sweet Home (sept 30-Oct 2). It has a good location, and it is easy to reach the main areas by foot. (You must visit The Russian Church - only a few minutes to walk) Our room was nice, spacious and clean, and we had a good night sleep in our bed! There are only two toilets/bathrooms,so if you want to shower in the morning it`s possible you must wait for your turn. This we felt was no problem. There is also a huge fridge available for the visitors, and you can buy cold drinks and wine - even champagne - at cheap prices! We rented a car during our stay in France, and we parked the car in Mozart car park just opposite Home Sweet Home. If you are interested in art - and have time enough - you must visit Fondation Maeght at St-Paul-de-Vence(You can also reach it by bus). A great experience !

The owner was very friendly and sat and chatted to the guests at breakfast. She also leant me a towel and beach mat to go off to the beach the next day. I thought it was a very good deal for a single room, nice, spacious, quirky. My room was a little noisier than others as I was on the street, but there wasn't much traffic at night and I bought earplugs anyway, so it wasn't a problem. It's a lovely old building. I had a very comfortable stay and felt very looked after. I would have liked to spend more than one night there.

Single traveller woman early 50's Brilliant value for a room in an excellent location for the money. Breakfast(included) in the large sunny dining room was simple but delicious. Big airy bathrooms and plenty of hot water - communal facilities were excellent and the double rooms looked gorgeous! Kerena Crowe Belfast Northern Ireland

The confimation mail contained this "Check-in: the rooms are available from 9 a.m. until 12.30 p.m". We took this to mean 30 minutes after midnight (we had never had to check in before 4 och 5 p.m. before), and arriving in the evening about 8 were lucky to meet a regular guest of the B&B who let us in and helped us. Thanks Jack!

It's just gorgeous! It's not luxury, shared bathrooms and no internet, but rooms are spacious. in a quite living area five minutes from the train station and less than 10 minutes to the beach. You will have your own keys to the building, apartment and your room, you can use their kitchen, which makes you feel like living in a self catering apartment. They've only got one hour for breakfast, because they serve the breakfast only once for all the guests, so every body sits around a big dinning table, chatting.very social atmosphere. The stuffs are really warm, and make you feel like being invited to a friends' place. I will definitely come to this B&B again next time visiting Nice. But I don't recommend it to those on business trips as they don't have wifi.

Very nice place, Mrs Genevieve was an excellent landlady. The place was clean, just 5 min from the "gare", and there is a parking just in front of the B&B. The room was well furnished and the breakfast was ok.

Most of the time, the person encharged was a very young woman, absolutely unable to solve any problem. We waited two days for a man able enough to reprogram the TV set in order to be able to use it. The room service did not existed. We did our bed every day and the towels were not replaced. The soap in the bathroom was liquid, very uncomfortable to use , so we bought our own soap bar in the pharmacy

This place is a real gem. It is a unique B@B in Nice. It is located just two blocks from the sation and about a ten minute walk to Promenade de Anglais. The owners are very friendly but they are not there most of the time so it's a little like staying in an apartment where you are free to do you own thing. Use of the washing machine , drier and iron was a God send. Cold drinks including bottled water are sold at cost price. The rooms are quite spacious and the communial large breakfast table is geat for chatting to other guests in the morning. You would be hard pressed to find a better value place to stay in Nice. The only downside is the streets are very noisy outside the bedroom windows until about 5am in the morning, so you need to sleep with the windows closed. The other slightly worrying thing was there are no smoke alarms, fire extingushers or fire alams, But as you are only one floor up I guess you could always tie sheets to the balcony to climb down in case of emergency! But overall I really enjoyed my two week stay and met some amazing people. It certainly felt like Home Sweet Home and I will definately stay there again on my return to Nice.

Disappointed that on arrival I was asked for the complete accommodation fee, rather than on departure. In addition, cash was required, the owner pointing me to a cashpoint nearby. Plastic was not an option even though I had booked and guaranteed payment with plastic. Otherwise our stay was excellent, certainly a high priority for any others wishing to stay in Nice.

This B&B was reasonably close to all main touristy spots. It is a pity they show a room full of anitques and very homey. The room had bare essentials and nothing fancy. Single rooms were advertised with an ensuite - there was none.

I stayed in home sweet home from Thursday to Tuesday to compete in Ironman Nice. The location is fairly central and easy walking distance to most sites. The single room I had was quite small, basic but clean - the street outside was quite noisy until midnight - later at weekends. No tea, coffee making facilities in room. French TV. No bedside lamp or air conditioning. However, it is excellent value for money - owners are very friendly and really helpful - great to be able to use the kitchen to make something to eat. Breakfast is bread and jam tea or coffee - sitting at a big table with rest of guests. Very sociable. I would go back and I would recommend to others too!

wonderful place, rooms were great and the room really big. Only problem was finding it. Although the directions were good, we were looking up and down the street for a small sign and could not find the hotel until we read the small tag next to the buzzer. Part of this was my fault for not writing down the number of the establishment.

Very pleasant bed and breakfast with large rooms and large shared bathroom. Single beds are not recommanded for very large people. The breakfast is very simple (bread, jam, juice, coffee) but very good. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. There is no TV in the single rooms and no internet connection but there are cybercafés around. You need to speak English because most of the guests are English speakers and everybody is chatting at breakfast.

We were there 6 nights and while on the one hand the welcoming was very positive and an additional guest was accommodated with email prior to this what was not made clear was that this meant no private bathroom. The two public bathrooms were iffy--in one the shower overflowed and the other was quite grotty--dirty trim around sink and dirty shower curtain. The bathrooms were our biggest complaint particularly considering this could have easily been cleaned up. The other was that breakfast was not available until 9 a.m. which is late considering many travellers were taking day trips. The breakfasts we were there for were quite acceptable with croissants, bread, jams, juice, coffee. The location is very convenient and a 10 minute walk to train station. In some ways it has a more hostel feel and is certainly not a bed and breakfast as it is thought of in North America.

The owners work very hard to make this a good experience, and extremely helpful. They were flexible on checkin, let me leave some things while I went out of town a few days in between. The breakfast is simple, but friendly, and was fun to meet people from all over. Very friendly other guests. Bathrooms are shared. Neighborhood is OK, better during the day. Home Sweet Home is very secure however.

I have nothing negative to write, no complaints even now, over a week since I stayed at Nice Home Sweet Home. My experience was the best it could have been.

I enjoyed my stay very much. Genevieve, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. It is rather small, very quiet and a very nice family atmosphere. The people that stay there come from many different backgrounds, so backpackers have breakfast together with bussiness men taking a rest between two flights and e.g. a elderly couple on vaccation. There is breakfast with all guests at a huge table every morning, which takes at least one hour as very many interesting conversations emerge between the very different guests. If I am in Nice again, this will be my first step when searching for accomodation.

I missed a label in front of the house. I thought I would be wrong, it is a house with doctors and only when you looked through the different bells you saw that you were right; in addition the owner said normally you should have asked me for my exact arrival and departure time. She is not there continuously. This was also the problem for the breakfast. Nobody was there, everything was prepared, but no fresh bread. She explained to me that she cannot be there before 9 a.m..

we were a couple staying there just for hols. we really liked the place because it was not far from the beach- just 5 blocks away. breakfast was served at 9 so if you want to get up early, you need to wait. But it is really considerable and you can even get second servings. the staff is really polite but they do not handle english that good, all the same you can understand each other. the photographs were rewal and the relationship between quality and price is really good. more than a bed and breakfast it looks like a hotel. you get spacious rooms with tv and dvd, free of charge. in the kitchen you can make your own meal and wash and dry your clothes as well. this is certainly a really good place in nice.

Small but charming B&B with home atmosphere. The location is also good, not so crowded area, but also not far from SNCF station and seaside. You can get hot water and cup from kitchen, also can get drink and use washer and dryer by paying a little money. Breakfast is simple but excellent, guests sit around the table, eat and talk together, but starting in 9am is actually too late. The only worse is the heater system doesn't work well in winter, at night, in the room is so cold. They don't accept credit card, I didn't know it previously, and I didn't prepare so much cash.

Price location and cleanliness were fine. A big improvement would be a comfortable public room for travellers to meet and socialise rather than everyone in their own room not talking as was the case. It was also very cold in the rooms the owner did turn the heating up a bit on request, it was still very cold. Would recommend a visit outside of winter months. There are two bathrooms to share between the rooms and a couple of mornings there was no hot water. My comments reflect the views of several fellow travellers staying at the same time.

Lovely place, central in the city. Everything within walking distance. Lovely staff and also friendly, quiet and nice guests. Regarding safety: when noone from the staff is sleeping at the premises, what safety would a girl have? (If someone should try to get into her room). My surname is Fowels-Landmark. (Capital L). We booked for 2 nights, but stayed for one week (Saturday to Saturday. Except for one night, when there was no available room. We left our luggage and returned next morning). Please, correct.

What a fantastic place this is. Better than the hotel I stayed at prior to arriving at Nice Home Sweet Home. The owner was very informative about the area and was always very helpful. Nice as a city, is noisy in terms of traffic and you can't ever get away from that. The B&B was quiet in terms of the other guests but being off two roads meant having loud traffic until after midnight. I would definately stay here again. It really was a gem.

We really enjoyed our stay at Nice and the location of this B&B was great...very close to the main train station, easy access from the airport since the buses drop you close by, and about a 7 minute leisurely walk to the beach. Also, the room was very large, bright and clean and spacious. This was our first experience with a B&B and we were so impressed. Gabrielle is very sweet and welcoming. Merci!
