Bed and Breakfast Portanova - Naples

Well located, sorroundings not nice , but we did not feel unsure. Room and bathroom pretty clean and comfortable ( only detail:small place for shower). Very good value, we recomend it for a budget stay

Directions are needed to find this place and/or a good map. The neighborhood is a bit grungy. Map provided was not helpful. Excellent rooms - roomy, exceptionally clean, very nice. The staff was not around - good for privacy, bad for asking questions. Breakfast is pre-packaged help yourself.

I stayed in Naples for two days and this is just off the main shopping street C.Umberto. It is very spacious and clean and definitely a worthy B&B. The owners speak limited English so it might not be good for those who are seeking advice on places to go and information. It will do very well for those who are self-sufficient. They are very helpful and do try to help as much as they can.

The Portanova B&B is located in the Centro Storico part of the city tucked behind the main intersection of Via Duomo and Corso Umberto.  The buildings around are slowly being refurbished but it is not the prettiest part of town, but the B&B itself is great.  Big room by Italian standards, and modern bathroom fittings. It has been opened 2 years but has been well maintained.  The owners really leave you to yourself so not the right choice if you want full reception support or guidance for trip planning etc. Having said that, there is some information left by the various guests over the time, so that may help, but there are so many other places to get tourist information, this was not a drawback for us at all. This is a great location to walk to Via. Tribunali, the Duomo, central rail/bus station and the port. We even walked the holy mile up from Duomo to San Gennaro catacombs thru the side streets. I would most definitely recommend for the independent traveller. 

Everything OK in line with the information provided at the website. A couple of things to mention: 1. A place hard to find with no signs indicating the B&B (even taxi drivers were in the dark about finding the way to B@B; 2. Very poor water drain in the shower cabin.

If you are going to Naples, this is great little B&B. Comments: we did not like the neighborhood, but then we did not like Naples overall; the owner was very nice and helpful; the B&B is clean, cute and the breakfast was good; we were there on a Sunday, and had a difficult time finding an open restaurant.

Bed and Breakfast was very nice, although quite difficult to locate in a very uninviting city.

Naples is a crazy city and we were very lucky to find this accomodation for the two nights we stayed. The room looked exactly like the photo on the Web and it was very quiet, clean and friendly. For sure the best bed & breakfast we ever had.

Lovely stay at the Portanova, a haven from the bustle of Naples. The room was excellent, but we were diappointed with the breakfast provided. Good service from Venere.

Wonderful hotel! Beautifully remodelled, very clean, comfortable bed with air conditioning and flatscreen tv! About a 15 minute walk from the shore/15-20 from the heart of the old city, but just off of a mainstreet so buses are very easy to catch to get around. Excellent value for the price.

Very friendly, warm welcome, the owner is very helpful and tries to make the stay as interesting and pleasant as possible. Our capabilities of Italian are unfortunately rather bad, but we managed to communicate, and profited much of the advices we received. The surroundings are as you imagine the centre of Naples: a bit run-down. The surprise comes when you enter the Bed&Breakfast, and you see a completely renovated apartment. The room was great, the bathroom even better... We would like to return soon.

Easily the best b&b of several I have stayed in this year in Rome and Naples.

I usually never give such a high score, but this b&b was more like a 5 star hotel. the service was amazing, the owner sat with us for an hour in the morning recommending things to do. he let us use our room even after check out, and not pay extra. the service was fantastic. i would recommend this b&b to anyone!!

Per le festività pasquali io e mia moglie abbiamo pernottato 3 notti al b&b Portanova. Nulla poteva essere migliore. I proprietari sono persone fantastiche in tutti i sensi, gentilissimi e disponibili. A colazione ci hanno offerto la pastiera fatta da loro madre che risiede al piano di sopra e ci hanno fatto scoprire Napoli "by night". La struttura, oltre ad essere posizionata in zona centralissima (200 metri da via dei Tribunali e Via dei Librai)è nuovissima, molto pulita e dotata di tutti i comfort. NON CERCATE ALTRE SISTEMAZIONI,IL B&B PORTANOVA E' IL MEGLIO CHE SI POSSA TROVARE A NAPOLI !!!!!!!!

Big spacious room, good bathroom. Very courteous manager, no engligh tv. Location a little seedy but relatively handy to station.

This was a very good place to stay, with a very good quality / price ratio. The B&B is close to the old part of the city, 5 minutes by foot from spaccanapoli. The room was very clean and large, the bathroom was perfect and the bed amazingly comfortable. Our only (small) disappointment was about the breakfast (industrial biscuits were not our conception of a home-made breakfast, but the coffee and tea were good). The manager was very nice and helpful. We would definitely recommand this place to other travellers.

This was the first time I stayed at B&B Portanova. The position as well as the other characteristics of the B&B were very good. The Breakfast could be a little more complete (i.e. hot chocolate). I'm very satisfied of this B&B in the heart of Napoli.

We had a wonderful time here! The room was beautiful and the staff was fantastic! If you are staying Naples I would absolutely recommend Portanova!
