Very good and nice equipped rooms. Breakfast is exellent. But the owner don't shows any effort for help at difficulties. Without him it will be a best marked B&B

Our first time in Napoli and we stayed 4 nights at Donna Regina. When we arrived our hosts gave us lots of information on Napoli as well as some lunch - after a 'standing room only' train trip from Roma. Our room was very comfortable and quite unique: the ceiling was 6 m high, with huge timber beams and there was an antique altar place. The room faced the internal courtyard and was very quiet. Our hosts provided 2 meals (small extra cost) with regional and seasonal specialities. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Donna Regina is well located for exploring the centro Storico. Highly recommended.

We stayed 2 nights in Naples at BB Donna Regina - one night at each end. This was our first stay there. We find it a beautiful and amazing place with homemade breakfast, which however is served too late (from 08.30), too late for excursions and departures, but you were welcome to turn up at 8.00 for a cup of coffee.

The only really negative comment is relative to the payment. We had to pay cash as it seem the Internet or Bank or credit card web site were not fonctionning... really frustrating for us. Also, our room had a washroom, but on a mezzanine accessible through a very small stairs. Underwise, a very pleasant place.

We really enjoyed the stay at the Donna Regina B&B. It was quite and well located. We went there with our 2 kids: the room had a mezzanine for the kids. The staff and especially the owner were all so kind and very helpful. The breakfast served around a big table was always the ideal place for exchanging with others. We strongly recommend this place.

This is an old family property converted into a B&B. The rooms are spacious, but the bath was in a loft accessible by a spiral staircase, which could be a problem for many people and was not mentioned in the property description. The room was quiet except for a few hours during the morning and evening rush hour traffic. Since we were up early is wasn't a problem and it was quiet after 7 or 8pm. The front lounge was being renovated. They served a nice breakfast and it was the only place in Italy where we had eggs for breakfast. There is a museum across the street that was under renovation and it is within walking distance of the National Archaeological Museum and metro, although it can seem like a long way after a hard day of sightseeing or if it's raining. The owner/proprietor gave us a map and advice about restaurants. My new guidebook was completely wrong about museum times, and it pays to call ahead. Naples is a gritty town, but if you want to experience the real town, this is a good place to stay.

This is a really lovely place, and the owner was most helpful in recommending restaurants and helping with travel around and outside of the city. The flat itself is a really cool space, and the breakfasts were excellent.

Stayed here 22/9/07 for two nights. Paid 95 Euro prpn B&B. As reported by others, this accommodation is located along a back street and accessed through an obscure entrance and then up several floors in a rickety lift, but not really a problem. We were met by an elderly ‘housekeeper’, who spoke only Italian, but was still able to convey a considerable amount of information to us. We met the owner, an artist, after breakfast the following morning; he speaks English fluently, and gave us a lot of helpful information about Naples - areas of the city, what to see, and where to eat. The accommodation is on one floor, with much charm throughout. We had a large room, there is also a huge communal lounge. Everywhere is full of antique furniture, books and paintings. Lighting in the lounge is dim, which gave something of a gloomy feel. You will probably have the feeling of being the only ones there in this large apartment. Our bathroom was ordinary and tatty, and did not fit in at all with the rest of the accommodation. Breakfast starts at 8.30; on the first morning nothing appeared before 8.45, and then the one member of staff started cooking which we could not stay for. For some, a leisurely breakfast in an attraction, but Naples is really a city for active sightseeing and early starts are best for Pompeii etc (see below), so an earlier and prompter breakfast would be desirable. The concept of the place, all the attractive furniture and the art contribute something of a uniqueness to this accommodation, but ultimately we were slightly disappointed with the state of the bathroom and the breakfast needs better organising. You need a few days to see Naples, and another day for Vesuvius and Herculaneum, and another full day for Pompeii. Early starts are useful for these out of city locations, all are easily accessible on the Circumvesuviana railway, but note that for the past two years Pompeii has often opened a few hours late due to ‘staff mee

This place is fabulous! It's a beautiful old property at the top of an old block in Naples. Art covers the walls, breakfast was superb and Dominic the owner was great. Can't recommend this hotel enough! i didn't see a map or photos on the website.

The B&B is located in the old part of town which is run down. Due to the holidays it was quiet so no problems were encountered but it coulod be difficult for a senior couple like us in normal times. Domenic our host was very enthusiastic to tell us about Naples and things to do and also potential problems but many of the restuarants he recommended were closed because of summer holidays. The entry to the hotel is a little scary and dark and the lift ancient, but the B&B is a wonder, full of paintings and sculptures by Domenics father and grandfather. Room was quiet and facilities good. Only problem was bed springs sqeaked very time we turned over.

Don't be put off by the street entrance. This shabby part of town is rising from its ashes, and the bed and breakfast upstairs is a wonderful haven. It is worth the visit just to meet the owner and appreciate his art and antique collection.

Has some difficulty locating Via Luigi Settembrini (off Via Duomo) even some locals did not know where it was. As mentioned, the street was dreadful, due to renovation work but the inside lived up to the description. In particular the inner courtyard, seen from the kitchen/dining room balcony, was a relevation - it was nice to hear young children singing in the school on the floor below. I asked for an early breakfast(8 am rather than the usual 8.30 am( and all I got was coffee and rusks! Otherwise quite satisfactory. PS If anyone is interested in a goog walk from Via Foria up to Capodimonte - I tried it - feel free to contact me .

A perfect place to be in Napoli. Beautiful house. The owners are italian artists in the best sense of the word. They are absolutely in love with their culture and their history and know a lot about it. At the same time they have a deep respect for nature. We hope (for our sake) that this place will be kept secret as long as possible. It's a gem. It's very special.

Very cool place. Highly recommended. Its in the more vibrant part of town - don't be put off by the renovation. Go inside. They also have "Hulk" on DVD!!! Seriously, this is a unique place, filled with paintings and sculpture. Only down side is the beds could be a little more comfortable, but not a big deal.

This B&B is a great find! For a reasonable price you get a very spacious (ours was 2-story) and clean room with a decent breakfast and very friendly staff. The hotel is run by an elderly lady who does not speak one word of english (but I think that made it more fun) and her son who actually speaks english quite well and took the time to help us figure out what to see and where to go while in Naples. Looks are defintely deceiving...once you get past the closed street, construction, huge dumpster sitting outside this hotel, age of the building, and the one-at-a-time lift, a charming B&B awaits. Be sure to bring enough cash to pay the bill, though...the Visa machine does not always work!

We really enjoyed our stay here. A beautiful house, nicely decorated, very friendly host, excellent breakfast, and based historic center of the city. Need I say more? Perfect choice for people who are not looking for a standardised room in a purposely built hotel.
