We (2 persons) stayed in several rooms of the accomodation. It's a really lovely place with wonderful furnished rooms (most of the furniture is antique). The breakfast was typically Italian - sweet cakes, fruits, coffee, cereals, juice. The landlord / staff was very nice and kind - never experienced it in this way in Italy before. By the way, thanks to Alberto, the concierge at night, we didn't miss our plane. I can just highly recommend this accomodation and I hope I will get back soon!

The stay at Caraffa di Maddaloni B & B was outstanding, the room was very comfortable and the staff went out of their way to help in any way possible. It was a delight to wake up to a light breakfast and beautiful interior with antique furnishings fit for nobility. We are sure to return when the renovations are completed on the outside of the building and the courtyard. Even so, the position was excellent, in the heart of Naples, on Via Toledo. We miss it already. Highly recommended.

The B&B is OK in the inside, but the whole square is under construction. That means closed windows, stairs, difficulty in finding the place.

I stayed with my family in Naples from July 7 to 14th, 2011.I loved the Carafe di Madalone, but was disappointed that the scaffolding was still up all around the building, totally obscuring the view from every window. The owner, Alberto, was lovely. He picked us up at the airport, and the day before we left took us on a trip to the Posillipo to see the beautiful view of the Bay of Naples and of Pozzuoli. The only other minor issue was the lack of internet in the rooms. Again, the owner accommodated us by allowing us to plug in to their line in the main office whenever we wanted.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were so helpful and kind! The only thing we could complain about was the construction going on in the courtyard, which had nothing to do with the hotel itself. But... if you like to sleep in, then it could be a problem. Otherwise we loved everything, and would highly recommend this place!

I doubt you could be better placed for visiting Naples than here and yet, despite being in the centre of this noisy bustling city, I was able to get a good nights sleep every night. The bathrooms are a little tired but the setting, in an old palazzo with furniture to complement it and piano music drifting through the walls gives you an elegant escape from the busy city. The service was excellent too. At the moment there is a lot of renovation taking place around the hotel but this only happens during the day and the hotel owners were sensitive to putting me in the right room to avoid any morning noise.

Very inspiring palazzo, in a musician house! The rooms are dreamy and the area provides big contrasts with poor small streets, palazzo in ruins and beautifull churches. The father and soon are both very kind. Highly recommended bed and breakfast!

We stayed for one week and we loved it. The staff member, Susie is wonderful and is passionate about Naples and helping the guests with information on where to go, what to see, how to get there and making sure they have positive experiences. The building was hard to find at first but in an absolutely great location. We walked everywhere and we saw lots of Naples from there. We also used it as our base to travel to the surrounding areas and towns on day trips. Would definately recommend it and would stay there again.

This is with no doubt the best place to stay if you want to know the real Napoli city and the spirit of its inhabitants. Perfectly located both for visiting the heart of Napoli and for reaching the railway station to Pompei / Herculanum or the port to Capri / Ischia, the B&B is a part of a real Palazio (you will find the place you stay in on every map !). The owners are most welcoming and sensible. Alberto, 80, and his son Dario are fully dedicated to the success of your stay in a city they love and know perfectly. If you ask for it, they will happily provide you with precious and honest advices. We spent one week there with our 3 daughters and found there a quiet, safe and luxurious 2d house for us (which is important in the hectic and hot Napoli). Let's say it short: our children now love Italy and look forward to come back. Thank you, Alberto and Dario.

Dommage.

The bed and breakfast is in a very historic palazzo, which has apparently been undergoing renovation for many years. It is in a courtyard off a major street, which is fairly quiet, once the door to the courtyard is closed (at 8 p.m.). The bed and breakfast is not well marked, so make sure you know where you are going, because you won't find it if you are looking for signs. The rooms are smallish and a bit dark for our taste. The common rooms are quite nice, but at the other end of the facility and not convenient to use. Breakfast was quite good. We were initially disappointed in the facility, but grew to like it. The proprietor, Alberto, is really lovely. His English is good, and he says he's eighty. (He doesn't look a day over seventy). He really wanted us to like Naples, and is very concerned over the city's appearance and condition. He really wants to to like his city, Naples is actually a lot like Alberto and this B&B. Initially, you are disappointed and think you made a mistake. But the longer you stay, the more you realize that that the city (and the facility) has great charm, and that the people are wonderful. Naples is an acquired taste, and many people's initial impression is to leave as quickly as you can. But there is much to be savored if you give it time. Spaccanapoli is a fascinating area (so long as you like cities) and the B&B is very conveniently located to everything in the Centro Storico.

Wonderful place ! and perfectly located in the center of Napoli. Apparently the "apartment" has been restored in 2007, so it really looks as it is on the photos. The building, very damaged, is being restored - and it will take time - but the contrast between the outside and the inside is a good surprise ! We really recommand this B&B to everyone. We would definitely return to this place if we go back to Napoli.

The room and bathroom were comfortable and the hosts friendly. Bed a bit hard but thats ok if you like that. We were unable to use our laptop in the room because the wireless internet was not working. Also there is very long term external building work scaffolding which obscured our view of the main street, which was a shame. Great place if you have a love of classical music as hosts have musical eves.

My daughter and I stayed here for last 2 nights of our trip to Italy. The building is an old palace - what a beautiful well kept place it is. The room was large and the bathroom was spacious. The whole place is beautifully clean and the owner and his son (Alberto and Dario) speak very good English. We felt so at home here. The breakfast was wonderful!!! Alberto made us feel as if we were a part of his family - he was kind enough to take us out in his car ( I paid him of course) to see all of Naples, not just where we were staying. This was great as the Spaccanapoli area is not all one should see to determine what kind of place Naples really is. Naples is a beautiful place and one that we will always remember along with the Carafa di Maddaloni B&B di Charme.
