Bed and Breakfast La Canonica di Fungaia - Monteriggioni

We had an excellent stay at Canonica di Fungaia. The couple that hosts are very nice and do anything for you. When the weather was bad, Claudia cooked us a nice meal, even if this wasn't regular. Beautiful place to relax and enjoy the region of Siena! Like to come back once!

Claudia and Carlo were really welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The place is very well located in the sense that you are in the middle of Tuscany. You have Montalcino, Pienza and Montepulciano a 45 min drive south and San Gimignano/Chianti a 45 min drive north. Very close to Siena; which is beatiful.

We were greeted as family and treated as same. No request was too large or too small. The rooms were clean and attractive. The bathrooms were clean and modern as described. The pool is huge and beautiful, but it was not swimming weather in late October. Breakfast was a treat with ample helpings of home baked breads and desserts desserts, meats and cheeses, and if you wanted eggs, they were cooked to order. Two different types of juices, coffee and fruit. One day we were traveling the area and missed lunch we returned tired and starving, and although it was not part of our contract, Claudia whisked out meats and cheeses, fresh bread, veggies, etc., a real life saver. When in this area it is a place to stay and truly taste and experience the best that Tuscany has to offer.

La Canonica di Fungaia has to be one of the very best B&B's in the World. The rooms are comfortable with modern plumbing ( in a Classic building), a wonderful breakfast, all overseen by two of the nicest and most accommodating people I have ever met. The road up is a little tricky, but you only have to drive it once to know where the bumps are and it is truly well worth the trip. The location, just outside of Siena is ideal for touring Tuscany. I can't think of a better place to stay to get a real feel of the "real" Tuscany. Magnifico!!!

Amazing place to stay! I cannot say enough good things about it. The location is removed enough where you feel like you are on a perfect getaway but you are also extremely close to everything you want to see. We thoroughly enjoyed Claudia's recommendations for sights and for incredible dinners. The property is so beautiful and serene you will not want to leave. Rooms are very clean and well-decorated. Breakfast in the morning is extensive, fresh and delicious. Claudia and Carlo are so warm and welcoming and add so much to the overall wonderful stay.
