Bed and Breakfast Baldovino di Monte - Monte San Savino

We stayed in Monte San Savino for 4 nights and were extremely pleased with the B&B we chose. Monte San Savino is a lovely walled city in the centre of Tuscany. The B&B is just within the city walls, next to a beautiful 20 foot high arched gate. The B&B itself is a fine example of the local architecture, but it is the welcome from the owner that makes the place truly special. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we arrived past midnight on the first night. Not only did the owner meet us, but there was still a genuine warmth in the welcome we were given. Over the following few days, the welcome was equally warm, and she assisted with any query we had, as well as just wanting to have conversations about our stay, where we were from, which places we were planning to visit, etc. The Room we stayed in was spacious, with a double and single bed and two wooden shuttered windows overlooking the old town street below. The breakfast was outstanding, with cereals, cheeses and cold meats, fruit juices, proper coffee and plate after plate of delicious home made cakes. The stay was lovely, a real pleasure. I would recommend the B&B to anyone. At the price it was a real find. Finally, I would ask you to consider this: When was the last time you hugged the owner of a hotel or B&B on departure? A truly lovely person and a great place to stay.

We stayed for 4 days - good location to visit seina florence radda castellina arezo .... exellent hospitality by the owner maria and the delicous breakfast we cannot forget. good rooms (litle noisy over the main street without elevator ). recomended to come back .

Rooms are tiny but cosy. The building has been recently restored and looks very charming. The hostess is extreamly kind and reserves you a warm welcome. The breakfast is really excellent (one of the best ever tried)! A wide range of delicious home made cakes, cookies and pastries (salad food is available as well) makes breakfast in this B&B a very pleasant experience. Highly Reccommened to everyone who wishes to discover Tuscany. B&B is loced just inside the ancient town walls. The position is strategic to discover surrounding area (Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza) are all in the nearby.

Correct hotel (in fact it is an annex to an hotel, not really what I call a B&B), quality of service fairly dependant on actual employee,some very helpful, some useless. Same breakfast buffet (same items, not same type) for 4 days, not very fresh towards the end. The location, just towards the end of the pedestrian area is somewhat noisy because of traffic. This being said, not a bad place to visit the area, at a reasonable price;

This was our first trip to Monte San Salvino and we had a hard time finding the town, though the many Italians we asked were helpful in getting us there. The B&B owner runs the hotel down the street and it was a bit confusing at first, but once we settled in, we slept well and had the most amazing breakfast and cappucinos by Mary in the hotel breakfast room. The owner seems to know everyone in the small town and it was a joy to walk around in the morning, a place with very few tourists and wonderful views from vantage points above the city walls. Despite the challenges in getting there, we loved the experience in the end and would definitely return.

Our room and its vicinity were very charming. All the staff was so kind. Excellent public transport (bus, train) allows day-trips to many Tuscan and Umbrian sights. Little noise from the road was inevitable but no problem due to soundproof windows. We suffered from some noise from inside and couldn't locate its origin. (air condition?) Regardless this is a recommendable accomodation which we would revisit at any time.

You have to go down the street to another hotel to register and get your key. If you do not read Italian this is not readily obvious. The owner(?) was unpleasant to us because we would not leave our passports with him. Breakfast was not at the hotel where we stayed, but rather down the street at the other hotel. The home baked goods were a nice touch but we expected the more traditional European breakfast of meat, cheese and rolls.

A very pleasant stay, attractive rooms, surrounding area lovely, good breakfast.

We had to wait to be let in when returning reasonably early from dinner. The following morning we had to wait for breakfast as the gentleman in charge had only just got up. Otherwise no complaints. We would use it again.

Our stay was exactly what we wanted and the hotel even nicer than expected...which is always good! Marco,the owner,is so welcoming and helpful, and the other staff the same. Having an English speaker there was an added bonus. Thank you. A great success and highly recommended.
