It was a bit hard to find our way to the B&B and we had to wait a little bit before Gabriella arrived. Apart from that, we had a wonderful stay! Gabriella is very welcoming and always available to give you the best tips about where to go and where to visit. The B&B is located in a really beautiful old house with a wonderful garden and very nice old wooden furniture. Breakfast in the patio was nice too. We recommand this place for a romantic stay. Car is mandatory!(10 minutes to Mondello beach, 20 min to Palermo)

Private oasis in wonderful Mondello, close to the beach with cristal clear water. Close to many cultural highlights and very good restaurants (e. g. "Bye Bye Blues"). Gabriella, the lovely owner, provides you a homelike atmosphere in a historical Castle and a parklike setting. Here you can relax and enjoy a quiet vacation time.

not only is this impossible to find but the "landlord" is equally difficult to find in order to get in!

This was our second stay at Piana dei Colli and we were delighted to find that the Signora had created a lovely apartment, very well fitted-out and finished, out of two spacious rooms. Still the same luscious surroundings, wonderful welcome and complete graciousness. It was brilliant after an exhilarating but exhausting day in Palermo to relax in the calm and beauty of this oasis, nestled into the walls of a Palazzo.

The experience at Il-Glicine redefined my personal experience of Palermo and its surroundings. Sitting in what felt like the Garden of Eden for breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. A truly energising experience and one we will return to. An environment of peace, tranquility and harmony with nature coupled with lovely authentic facilities.

Once you have found the place, no sign indicates that you are at "Il glicine". Fortunately, a lady who passed by told me which ring I should use to call. The bathroom was outside of the room. I was offered a room with bathroom, but refused because of the requested additional 10 euros per night. Room and bathroom had little windows and were both dark. The room was full of so many books that it was oppressive, and one could wonder how the cleaning was made. There was no refrigerator. There was no wardrobe in the room, it was in the corridor. The chest of drawers was partially full. The only chair in the room was so rickety that it was dangerous to sit on. I had asked for a parking, but was recommended to leave the car outside in order to avoid animals to escape from the garden. Breakfast was correct except that the orange juice, in this country where you just bend to pick up fresh oranges, was made of concentrate coming from the supermarket. During the night, numerous dogs rather near kept barking, and the automatic watering of the garden started at 4 o'clock. This type of stay may please those who are looking for something different of a hotel. It looks like you are staying with friends in their house, but they are not your friends, you pay for your stay, and there is no real effort to make space for you. It is very expensive for what you get compared to other places visited in Sicily. I was so dissatisfied that I complained and managed to get a discount on my bill. The overall impression is that the prime motivation is to make easy money.

Beautiful old villa, full of character. Double room very spacious, though the single room was a little cramped and no bedside table. Lovely gardens to sit in, but it was unclear whether the indoor lounge areas were designed for guests or were private for the owner (she was out all evening so we didn't ask). No problem to find if the owner's detailed directions are followed.

We stayed here for five nights and were sorry to leave. Gabriella was very welcoming and her advice was so useful to us. The room was beautifully presented and very clean. It was lovely to be given fresh towels and linen each day. I would really recommend.

The venue, ambience and hospitality of the villa far exceeded our expecations. The hostess was charming and helpful with useful tips around the area to visit. The rooms were very clean and breakfast each morning was more than plentiful. I wuould definitely go back.

The owner of the property, Gabriella, was warm and gracious. She spoke English which was a big help to us. She offered advice on places to go and things to see in the area. She had an incredible garden and was very knowledgeable about the plants. The property was difficult to find but once there it was a warm and inviting oasis.

Il Glicine is absolutely wonderful. The garden is a slice of heaven, and the apartment full of atmosphere and lovely things, but not at all intimidating. Signora Pucci is charming and helpful, and speaks good English. She directed us to a superb restaurant. Staying at Il Glicine is a great holiday in itself. In fact it's so divine you don't really want to go out and deal with Palermo traffic. I foolishly forgot to take the excellent joining instructions and had a hard time finding the correct place, as there is no sign.

Very friendly and warm-hearted landlady. Loaction is a good starting point for Palermo region (very special...) Generally - accomodation prices on Sicily are far too high (e.g. compared to Tuskany) - so, at the end for Sicily the price is fair. Do not expect continental breakfast! Without a car you will be lost!!!

This is a nice and quiet place with good breakfast. But we must complain about our hostess'es way of treating us. She was a little bit too dominating and treating us a little as if we were children, Her way of tackling our delay from the airport was absolutely not good and she showed little understanding for our difficulties with finding the house(a Canadien couple had spent about 2 hours finding the house even after they had arrived)so the house is indeed not easy to find especially not in the dark. It is also unusual to be advised to be quiet at 9,30 in the morning!!

We were extremely happy with the accomodation which we chose purely based on the reviews in Venere like this. It was easy to find from the directions given, secure parking, beautiful surroundings with a welcoming, helpful and english speaking host. Lovely clean spacious bedroom and bathroom, comfortable bed and a light continental breakfast. The host was extremely friendly and offered fantastic advice on places to visit. Be aware you have to pay by cash on the 2nd day. Take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as there was a little bit of dog barking background noise - nothing dreadful. The closest beach at Mondello is also the best for miles. Sandy and clean. I would totally recommend this B&B and location. Just be prepared for totally manic italian driving! Enjoy!

The owner is wonderful and the place is full of trees and plants. I don´t know if it is common in every B&Bs, but we had to pay in cash and we didn´t know that.

The owner was absolutely charming and offered us invaluable advice concerning restaurants and places to see in Palermo (she speaks good French but her English may not be so fluent). The house was very quiet and full of character and the garden was a tropical paradise. However the property was not very easy to find and you did need a car!

Beautiful property--very relaxing. I would recommend this property to my friends going to Sicily. The directions on your site were extremely poor. Please verify with the property as to accurate directions. Gabriella Pucci was lovely. We enjoyed her very much. She was very helpful and clearly enjoys providing excellent service to guests.

When arriving, there were no boards outside to highlight B&B as in the UK, so was done by picture and entry phone system. The property is very "oldy worldly" with old book, beamed ceilings, little windows etc.........It was always lovely, clean and quiet and a great place to get away to or rest. The pictures of the bedrooms, did not do them justice, as they are lovely and generally have sole use of a bathroom.A car would be a must, but as a avid traveller - managed to get around over my few days stay.Would stay again..........
