Don Gaspano is a country house set in the middle of a large and pleasant garden bordering a huge olive grove. A panoramic view on the Aeolian Islands, the bay of Milazzo and the Peloritan mountains can be enjoyed from a large covered terrace surrounded by flowering bushes of bougainvillea, hibiscus, wisterias and mimosas.

Only 40 km (by motorway) from Messina, Don Gaspano is an ideal place to rest and relax. It is also within easy reach of the beautiful spots which can be found in the north-western part of Sicily : Tindari, with its ancient Greek theatre, the volcanic Aeolian Islands, the Straits of Messina and the bustling city of Messina itself, as well as the world-famous Taormina.

Excursions to these attractive places can be arranged by the owner, Giuliana Aragona, who is a qualified guide.

Problem finding property from site instructions and not recognised by sat.nav. Owner came to find us and lead us back with good welcome but then left with maid who spoke no English though tried to be helpful. Good room and pleasant breakfast site in garden. Evening spoilt by maid left not leaving us gate key so with no one on property we were locked in and unable to go out for meal or even get a drink. Large garden driveways also need direction signs to and from gate as single lane with several turnings resulted in difficult reversing when took wrong routes.

Beautiful house sourrounded by olive trees close to the highway. Excellent room and good breakfast. Very friendly people. The only difficulty is to find the place because it is not well indicated, so it is convenient to give them a call so they can adress you or come to pick you up at the highway exit. It was an excellent experience.

Very good B&B, 3 km away from Milazzo (must have the car or phone to the B&B for a shuttle) and from the port to Eolian Island. Room was very clean and spacious but it does not have TV and A/C. Breakfast was server in the HUGE garden, and it was good. Staff is nice and welcoming. Maybe it should be more lighted outside during the night. I suggest Don Gaspano if you want a quite place a few km from Eolian Islands.

Route very bad indicated. The name of the street is not writen at the beginning of the street and the distance "internet" is wrong. Very diffucult to find. But, at the end, the reward ! Very pleasant and the welcome very friendly. We'd like stay here for a longer time. B & B to recommend.

The recently renovated guestrooms are on the second floor. They are all fitted with private bathrooms, and are furnished with the elegance that marks the rest of the house. Bright and very peaceful, the guestrooms look out on a large garden full of flowers and on an olive grove. They open onto a large terrace, ideal for sunbathing, from which one enjoys a panoramic view of the Eolian Isles, the bay of Milazzo and the Peloritan mountains.

How to reach Don Gaspano Bed and Breakfast

By car
We are at only a few minutes' drive from the exit "Milazzo - Isole Eolie" on the Messina-Palermo motorway.
Messina, the third largest city of the island, is only a thirty minutes' drive from us.

By train
There are daily direct trains to Milazzo from Rome, Milan, Torino and Venice. We shall meet you at the station in Milazzo which is only a few minutes' drive from Don Gaspano.

By airplane
To Catania (Aeroporto internazionale di Fontanarossa)
If you hire a car, you can reach Don Gaspano in an hour and a half, driving along the Catania-Messina-Palermo motorway. The exit is "Milazzo Isole Eolie", only a few minutes' drive from our B & B.
Should you prefer public transportation, there is a regular bus service (SAIS) from the airport to the Central Station of Messina where we shall meet you.

To Palermo (Aeroporto internazionale Falcone e Borsellino)
If you hire a car, you can reach Don Gaspano in two hours, driving along the Palermo-Messina motorway. The exit is "Milazzo Isole Eolie", only a few minutes' drive from our B & B.
Shoud you prefer public transportation, there is a bus service from the airport to the Central Station of Palermo. Trains run regularly from Palermo to Milazzo. We shall meet you at the station in Milazzo which is only a few minutes' drive from Don Gaspano.

By public transportation
There is a regular bus service (GIUNTABUS) from Messina to the Central Station of Milazzo where we shall meet you.
