Hotel Reviews Al Giardino

We were in the "apartments" or "studios". We were not advised in advance that these were in another building, without garden, 50 meters from the main house. Very good stay overall but the offered breakfast was really very low quality as compared to what we received elsewhere in Italy. You will find much better at a nearby caffè.

Very welcoming people, nice rooms, very clean and good breakfasts. Excellent! For localisation, about 1/4h from Piazzale Roma Station. Not that far...

Al Giardino up graded our room to an appartment, for the same price. The appartment was complete, included a capputino machine. Was marvelous, and by back the Al Giardino has an excelente Restaurant: Alla Pesa. The map offered into a venere site was not so easy. The best way is stop em Old Venice and catch bus 14 (late 15 minutes) not in Venice Mestre and cacth bus 15 (late 45 minutes).

Able to park in secure area on site. Bus to Venice took 15 minutes and stops in front of the property. This is an excellent place to stay and see Venice without having to sacrifice convenience.

"Al Giardino" ist eine empfehlenswerte Unterkunft für Venedig-Besucher. Das Haus liegt in einem kl., gepflegten Garten und ist zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Die Bushaltestelle für den Bus nach Venedig befindet sich 20 m vom Haus entfernt; die Fahrt dauert ca. 15 min.

We (4 girl friends) were travelling from Tirol to Venice to the Salvador Dali Exhibition and needed an accomodation near Venice. I looked in the world wide web and found Al Giardino. As it looked very nice I booked the rooms directly and we got the confirmation within 24 hours. The bus connection to Venice is very good, about all 10 minutes leave a bus directly from Al Giardino. The people were very friendly and we had a nice week-end in Venice.

The hotel was in the middle of no where with absolutely no restaurants or shops in the vacinity. We arrived to find out that our "private" bathroom was not ensuite and therefore that we had to carry our things down the corridor each time to use the shower and toilet. When questioned the owner was not helpful and refused to give us a different room or a refund. Overall an extremely dissappointing stay. I would seriously advise against this place.

Very nice garden and good public transport to Venezia. The room was ok but very small and the aircondition did work very badly. Our "own bathroom" was across the floor, very small and not good ventilated.

Very good accommodation - almost new with modern furnishings and beautiful garden. Very convenient close to bus, which will take you right to the historic centre of Venice. The host Gianni speaks very good English and was very welcoming.

This was a very friendly run family business. The location, 20 outside of Venice was quite convenient with good access to the City by bus although if you wanted to go home and back again for the evening, this might have been tiring, we tended to stay out all day and evening. The town is very friendly, with an excellent trattoria next door serving very good home made Italian food. Excellent. We enjoyed our stay very much but would have liked a bigger shower and slightly bigger rooms.

Al Giardino was pleasantly surprising. Really nice, clean rooms. Ideal for a short stay at a budget price. Eay to find from the airport & a direct bus service to central venice from outside the appartments. Friendly & helpful staff. I would stay there again & recommend it to my friends.

We found the accomodation good and the staff most welcoming. An excellent bus service from outside the hotel direct to Venice. The restaurant next door is well worth a visit, an authentic taste of italy!

The accomodation consisted with the impression it gave on the internetsite, however the location of Al Giardino's is a minimum bus ride of 20 minutes from Venice historic center with bus line 19, the bus line 4 takes over 30 minutes. This does not correspond with the stated 10 minutes on the website. For the rest it was very good for the rate.

I found very nice services. I have usual problem with the correct deserting of motorway both in direction from Trieste and from Padova (to Favaro Veneto). It is not Al Giardino problem of course.

We stayed for 2 days. At our arrival we thought that the b&B was very far away from Venecia, but taking the direct bus, it is not as bad. The people are very nice and the facilities have good price/quality. If we return to Venezia, we will return to the same B&B. We recomend it for people who do not mind taking the bus and do not want to be in the village center.

The Owner and his family were very, very friendly and helpful in every sense! We were very astonished about the charming position of the hotel, particulary about the modern style of the interior furnishings. We also stress the excellent cleaniliness! Furthermore it was absolut trouble-free to reach the bus, going to Venice Historic Center, because the bus-stop is straight to the hotel and on the return it's straight opposite the hotel! Thank You, Gianni, for nice and unforgettable days! We'll return soon!!!!

Although a half hour bus ride out of town, this accommodation was ideal. The owners were very friendly, even when we turned up on our first night at 10.30pm. Very helpful with helping us to get around and how to get to places. The room was ideal for people who are out all day and want a nice relaxing place to return to at night. We throughly enjoyed out stay there and would definately book there again.

We were very pleased with our stay. One of the advantages of staying so far out is that one always gets a seat on the bus into Venice (why are there so few seats on Italian buses??)We didn't realise before we came that you can't buy tickets on the buses, so I think that the "Directions" to the hotel could have been better. One morning we didn't get breakfast, and no alternative arrangements were made for us, (which I really think should have been made. Instead we were just told that we could get breakfast at a local cafe). But all in all, this is a very nice place to stay, the people are friendly and pleasant and I would unhesitatingly recommend it as a good place to stay when you're visiting Venice.

Directions from the Motorway are excellent. Rooms are clean but not very large. The location is fine for visiting Venice, very convenient to bus route that will take you directly to Venice. Not much to do in the area sorrounding the BB, best to stay in Venice for food ,drink etc.

The place is very good, it is a little bit far from the attractions of Venice, but it is very well connected by bus. The room is very spacious and new and the breakfast was the best I have in all my journey.

THis really is a perfect place to visit Venice. There is an excellent bus connection with the city, cheap (especially for Venice), clean, a very extensive and tasteful breakfast. I would recommend it to everybody.

Overall a very pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and the rooms were comfortable and well decorated. It was a good half hour from venice centre although it can be reached quite easy by bus. it was good value for money and i would not hesitate to stay there again.

We had a good time; nice hotel, very kind and helpful proprietor. May be breakfast facilities could be improved (some fresh bread and ham and cheese would be nice).

The hotel was perfectly nice and clean and the value for money was good. The only problem (and why we only gave it an average overall review) was the location- on the mainland. In theory it's only 15 mins from Venice, but in practice, by the time you've waited for a bus and sat in traffic, it's more like 40 mins. This means you can't really come back to the hotel during the day, but have to kill a couple of hours in the late afternoon in Venice between sightseeing and having dinner, when it would be nice to retire to you room for a rest. If this doesn't concern you, or the cost of your stay is a deciding factor, then we recommend Al Giardinio- otherwise get somewhere in Venice itself.

The room was simple and sophisticated. Though this B&B is far from Venezia Mestre station, the bus for Venezia is available, which is very convenient.

Positive remarks: Very good description of route to B&B, so was easy to find by local bus. Bus service from B&B was excellent, with 2 different bus numbers running very frequently to the places of interest (Venice island). Property or refurbishment is only 1 year old, so is fresh and had a garden to relax in. Restaurant, bars, bakery & grocery shop were close by in walking distance (1-2 minutes away) & the local people were very friendly & helpful. In fact we had a lot of fun with them in the restaurant next door to B&B. They do appreciate it if you try to speak their language, even if you make so many mistakes. Slightly negative remarks: B&B's breakfast room was too small with very few tables, therefore some guests were having to wait a while for a free table. Breakfast was all sweet items only - sugared cereal, individually wrapped cakes/croissants, jams, etc (but were told is how Italians eat). We both would have preferred a choice of savoury or sweet (coffee was excellent though!). The shower cubicle was quite small for me & I am small, so my boyfriend being a lot larger found it quite uncomfortable. No smoking allowed inside the property. The web pages mentioned that all rooms had a shower room, but we could see our neighbour having to go to another room a few doors away to shower each time. I believe that when I made the reservation, it did not mention that the reason a credit card number is needed, was for the B&B to take the first night's cost in advance and that the balance would be due on departure - I believed that giving a card number was for guarantee only? (I maybe wrong, but I cannot find the terms now). Overall View: A pleasant stay for four nights only (longer would not have been so good). We were relieved that we booked a B&B on the mainland, away from the hustle, bustle of Venice Island that is so full of tourists and felt sorry for the amount of tourists having to walk through a very flooded San Marco square (often happen

This bed and breakfast was clean, comfortable and great value for money. Although located outside of Venice it was only 20 - 25 mins bus journey away from the centre. Waiting for a bus could be a lengthy business but the price of the accommodation was well worth the wait!

The accomodations wwere modern and on a beautiful property. We had terrible instructions to get there from the train. Got badly lost and only found oyr way there with a lot of help from a lot of people that could not speak much english. We arrived in the rain and could not get in because the owner/operator could not hear us banging on the door and ringing the bell.We went to a guest house where we were able to phone him to let us in. If this owner can get his act together, and give his guests proper directions to his hotel, and let them in when they arrive, he may have a chance.

Fantastic value accommodation. Only 15mins by bus to centre of Venice, but costs half the price of hotels in the centre. Very clean basic accommodation. Would highly recommend.
