Very pleasant B&B hotel. Cleanliness of room and the bathroom was al time of our stay in the top quality. Very good distance to the old town - 5 min on foot. Miriam (owner) was very helpful with the informations of Lucca. Sorry, the morning coffee isn´t included in the price.

Tango hotel is small but big on character. We were greeted by lovely staff who were more than helpful. It had been recently renovated, very tastefully. It is located near the railway station but away from the town centre. Although it is a B&B, it didn't actually include breakfast, common in Italy !

Room was small but adequate for a short stay. Beautifully presented, and the bathroom was stunning! Very friendly and helpful. Only drawback was the distance to town- this was further than expected and there were a lot of steps to negotiate (footpath over the railway line)Would try to find somewhere closer to town next time.

If you love art, music, poetry, colors and simplicity this is the right place! Few cosy rooms, with a nice little terrace for the breakfast, two steps from the train station and five from the center :) you can also rent bycicles there. Jesus and Mariam, the owners, will make you feel at home... they are very special!

We loved it and thought the staff were fabulous. This was our first time to Italy and Tango Hotel and Lucca was the perfect place to start our two week holiday in Tuscany. As soon as we arrived we were greeted very warmly and felt immediately at ease. Our room was very comfortable and was beautifully decorated to a very high standard with high quality fixtures and fittings. It has the perfect location to explore Lucca just being outside the town walls. We got excellent advice on where to go and they booked us a lovely restaurant in Lucca serving excellent food for our very first meal in Tuscany. The breakfast was delicious - lots of treats to start our holiday and to have it served on their beautiful terrace was a must. I highly recommend the Tango Hotel and we will be definately be returning - hopefully soon as we loved our holiday in Tuscany.

Jesus and Miriam were wonderful hosts. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy and provided tons of info about Lucca...places to eat, events and things to see. We had one of our best meals at a restaurant frequented only by locals. It was a 10 minute walk from the hotel which is already outside the city walls, so we never would have found it if not for their recommendation. And they make their own gelato, to boot. Miriam even came by to check and see if we were happy. Really lovely! They have put a lot of time and effort into the property and it shows. The rooms were all designed by Miriam and are beautiful. There's a personal feel here that simply cannot be duplicated by a larger hotel. These are owners who are present, invested in your happiness and care. At the beginning, the only surprise was that the hotel felt a little farther from the train (we did not rent a car) and, thus, the city walls, than we thought it would be, so the walk from the train with the luggage felt a little laborious. And getting into town (there is a local bus right outside the front door of the hotel) ended up being about 20 minutes. But this quickly became a non-issue as we were so happy at the hotel and with the rooms. Also, there is no elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs, be aware that you'll have to climb one or two flights. I would highly recommend trying them for a visit. We will certainly return the next time we're in Lucca! And I almost forgot to mention that when we left, Jesus was kind enough to drive one of us and all our luggage (that's all the would fit) to the train :-)

The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. The price probably reflected the amount of thought and effort put into the surroundings and decor. The breakfast was good but was not included in the price so its not truly a 'bed and breakfast', however it does state this in the information. A lovely place to stay for the start of our holiday.

Very clean and nicely decorated. Small, but a good value. Nice people. The photo of the building is not recent. The rooms are much smaller than they appear in the photos. Print out the pricing and take it with you.

We had a lovely start to our two week break by staying in this hotel with our two teenage children. Lucca is within walking distance although hiring bikes was an excellent idea. Continental breakfast is individually priced for each item and can work out quite expensive. We shared our room with the girls who had bunk beds a ladder would have helped get on and off the top bunk!! It was a little cramped but we coped for only 2 nights. Wonderful hospitality.

You need to clarify methods of payment before your last day as we experienced a little difficulty in being asked for cash for breakfasts and sundries, difficult when cash has been run down for return to UK. Miriam and Jesus are extremely warm, friendly and helpful, this is an ideal location for touring by local transport. Tangohotel must be seen to be believed - excellent!.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay in Tangohotel. If you're getting the train to Lucca, get a taxi from the station as the 10 minute walk to the hotel with luggage (over the railway bridge)in blazing sun was "interesting" to say the least. The hotel itself, which is situated in a very nice neighbourhood, is ideal for Lucca sightseeing and also as a base to go to Florence, Viareggio etc. The owners are incredibly helpful and the hotel itself is spotless, although the rooms while they suited our needs perfectly, may be on the "bijou" side for some. Road noise? Well it's next to a road, so what do you expect? We found the noise to be no worse than any of the hotels we've stayed in previously. There's always earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Location is fine.10 minute walk from the city which (without luggage!)isn't very taxing.Breakfast is great up on the terrace as is the consumption of a few drinks before and/or after dining out.Miriam and Jesú recommended the restarant La Viale(spp?)just round the corner from the hotel. We tried a couple of restaraunts in the city and they didn't come close in terms of quality, choice of meals or price. You can also relax in the garden during the afternoon.Large supermarket selling fantastically priced wine and beer is a 5 minute walk away. All in all an extremely enjoyable week to which the Tanghotel and its owners made a hugely positive contribution. P.S.Take insect repellant. My attempt to maintain a high alcohol blood content didn't seem to deter whatever flying beasts were responsible for my collection of bites!

Our Nth honeymoon, spending one night at the Tango Hotel in Lucca, renting a Luccan nano-auto for travel in Toscano & Umbria, staying at two Agriturismo B&B's, and finally a train to Roma. And the one night at the Tango was an unexpected gem that cast a magical spell on the remaining 11 nights! The hostess Miryam was everything we could have asked for: helpful, friendly, casual, etc. Our room was creatively furnished & comfortable; hotel convenient to town; and breakfast on the Tango's terrace elegantly simple yet sufficient. We would not hesitate to return to the Tango.

Hotel Tango is not the quietest place to stay in Lucca, but is very convenient to the train station.Situated on a main road so could do with some double glazing to cut road noise. However Miriam and her partner were very welcoming and even picked us up from the station. She was very helpful with information and maps of Lucca, and served a wonderful breakfast.[extra charge]Lovely room and bathroom, very clean.

This is a small but elegant facility, currently undergoing renovations which are tasteful and environmentally efficient. It's a short walk to the walls of Lucca, and close to the train station, therefore a useful site for those who do not wish to drive. In the interests of consistency with other such facilities, it would be nice to have morning coffee (which was excellent) included in the price, making Tangoland a true b-and-b. The management was most helpful and welcoming. While the street is noisy, the cleverly-designed shutters block sound effectively. I would recommend this hotel to couples (older or younger) but it's not geared to youngsters.

Our room was lovely, but not large. It's worth seeing...Miriam and Stefano have a lot of design talent and have renovated an ancient tower into a tasteful and interesting B and B. It has a back deck for afternoon wine and morning breakfast. Location is convenient to the rail station; also easy walk to passage under city walls. Moderate traffic noise...soundproof windows help and its just normal urban traffic outside. Breakfast and internet available, but not included in price.

We can not say enough about our stay at Tango Hotel. We stayed in a room that had a queen bed and a day bed. The room, bathroom, and entire hotel were extremely clean and had all modern fixtures and accessories, but with a homey feeling. It is located just a few blocks from the train station and city walls....easy walk. The owners, Jesus and Miriam, were the best! They made us feel at home.......it was like staying at a friends house. They were very helpful with directions, reccomendations, and even called restaurants for us so they would know we were coming (since we didn't speak very much italian)! We would reccomend this hotel to everybody and look forward to staying here again.

Our only criticism concerns instructions on reaching the hotel from the train station. There was no mention of the underground passage at the station that could have saved us hauling our suitcases up and down a very long staircase over the tracks. This also made it a much longer walk than the "few metres" descibed on the web page. A sign pointing to the hotel along the road (if allowed) would also help.

The Bed and Breakfast was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The hosts were very welcoming and accomodating. The breakfast was great. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends and family. The room was a little noisey but not bad.

This B&B turned out to be a nice surprise -- our room was a newly renovated space with brand new bathroom etc. in a 400 year old building and it was great. The lady at the reception desk was extremely pleasant and helpful and did everything to make us comfortable even though we arrived before their posted check in time. The breakfast was adequate, but not the best we encountered in Italy. The location of the hotel, however, was perfect for us travelling with a car -- just a couple of blocks outside the city walls, with free parking and a short walk to the heart of where you want to be. It was easy to find using Mapquest directions. All in all, I would stay here again if I were to visit Lucca again. Thank you Tango B&B!

I would probably stay at Tango Hotel again, the room we stayed in was pretty, the bathroom a little compact, but overall it is in a good location, close to city gate and in a quiet street. The hotel owner is very friendly and helpful, there is also room to park your car on the street

Outstanding room...really gourgeous shower (it's a pity to have a shower in such a big shower box alone) ...but if you want to book tango hotel ask for a quiet room...the one we stayed in was so noisy you could count each car passing by the street to fall asleep...not the sheep.

We would choose to stay at the TangoHotel if we ever visit Lucca again and have already recommended it to friends who visit that area of Tuscany. The cleanliness and presentation of the rooms was first class and the reception and approach of the owner, Miriam, faultless. It is on a busy road with traffic noise during busy periods but these are times when you would normally be out sightseeing and therefore not in the hotel. It is a five to ten minute walk from the station in the opposite direction to the city walls but this was useful as we travelled from Pisa airport by train and prefer a walk back to the accommodation after our evening meal.

It took us find a while to find the hotel by car as the hotel was situated behind the railway station which could have been better indicated in the descriptions. Welcome was really nice even if the couple speaks very little English. Rooms are renovated and outstanding pretty - only thing is that we had a room that faced the street with rather heavy traffic which made it less romantic. Breakfast was a little disappointing for the price (99€, no buffet and served in the room). Walking distance to the centre of Lucca about 15min, possibility to rent a bike (2€ per hour).

We received a warm welcome by Miriam and Jesus, and their service mentality provided for an excellent three days in Lucca. The building itself was beautifully restored and with the new renovation, the garden and additional areas will be equally enjoyable.
