Bed and Breakfast Residenza Centro Storico - Lucca

From the discription of the website we thought that breakfast would be included. When we arrived at the b&b, it became clear that it was only an appartment with no additional services. The appartment was very moisty. Their was a machine for this, but we didn't get any explination how it should be used. The last night we blowdried our bed, because it was really clampsy. When we finally turned the machine on, we couldn't use it because it was full. When we checked out, it became clear (by coinsidence)that our car wasn't booked in for the parking system in Lucca. The girl who checked us out, have corrected this afterwards. Otherwise whe would have got a big fine. So the girl who checked us in had made a big mistake. Whe have had a small reduction for all our complains, so that was kind of them. The location of the apartment is very good, in de middle of the historic city center. We wouldn't recommend the apartment, because it's very moisty and dark. Also the bathroom is very small.

The location is top in the middle of the old town, difficult to find by car and parking is out of the centre. The room is nice but small and oldfashioned.We didn't sleep, there was no airco and it was very very noisy. Till 3.00 there was a lot of hard noise from people in bars and from 5.00 in the morning, suppliers came with there cars and made a lot of noise. If we had booked two nights we would have left after the first and we will never come back here. The room for the breakfast is to small with very small tables and chairs. The rooms don't have airconditioning so you have te sleep with the windows open.The breakfast is very poor with old bread..

Studio owner Valentina was at the top of Italian hospitality. We enjoyed our stay in Lucca and her day-to-day assistance. Studio apartment is really a brilliant example of price/quality/location balance. Highly recommended for everyone who prefers Italian medieval downtown apartments without overpaying. Best choice!

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at B&B Residenza Centro Storico. Each time I have found the rooms to be lovely and comfortable, big beds, nicely decorated, good sized bathrooms. Breakfast is plentiful and yummy, and the location is excellent and very easy to find. The price has gone up quite a bit since my last visit but there were also a lot of refurbishments to the rooms, still good value for money.

My wife, son, and I stayed in a "triple", which was a double with an extra bed added. The room was large enough to handle this easily. They provided a nice breakfast, even after the stated hours. A very nice and very reasonably priced place right in the heart of Lucca.

Our stay at Centro Storico was a complete delight! The location is just steps from Piazza San Michele, with its magnificent church, restaurants, gelateria, and street musicians. We were made to feel as welcome as in a friendly Italian home. Breakfast was a feast, with choices including cooked dishes, prosciutto, yogurt, and doughnuts as well as the traditional brioche, bread, butter and jam and juices. Even our fellow guests were charming. I will recommend this B&B to everyone I know. Thanks, Venere, for a winner!
