Bed and Breakfast Il Ponte - Ponte San Pietro, Lucca

The receptionist was great, really kind. But the b&b has it's other downs. It's located next to the main road towards Lucca, therefore it is very noisy and in the night the windows must be closed if one wants to sleep. The rooms are also very small but clean. There is unfortunately a shared bathroom. I also expected to have a fridge, but there was none. And the walls are thin, any noise from neighbouring rooms can be heard. And breakfast is great.

Just above the main road. No A/C so no chance to get some sleep.

Quite OK in comparison with the price in Italy . If you compare it with Hilton, you might be dispointed but it is very clean even if the bathroom is shared between several rooms Owner quite friendly.

1/ We arrive during closing hours of reception (12 am-4 pm) but the guy came immediately when we call him on his mobile phone. Service was very nice. 2/ Don't be mistaken about the facilities (pool, tennis, etc.: they're not free, and the pool is actually an aquatic park) 3/ But the private outdoor parking in the front of the hotel is very convenient, as is the direct road to Lucca (it's a bit difficult to understand the road signs but when it's done, it's fast). The map is not clear enough to get to the hotel without problems (the Via Puccini is in fact the road to Viarreggio). 4/ We stayed one night and the price was very good, comparing with expensive hotels in the region. 5/ The bathroom (shared between two rooms) is clean, and the room is fine. A bit noisy maybe (neighbours and road). 6/ In conclusion, it's a very correct place to stay for a short stay

1-Attention, there are many "via della chiesa" in and around Lucca!!! We spent 2 hours and found finally "Il Ponte" in the 3rd Via Della Chiesa. And that after 7 hours of driving. 2-Attention!!! B&B does not mean Bed and Breakfast!!!! No breakfast included!!! It just means Bed and Best, a kind of slogan. 3- Il Ponte is at the corner of a high frequented, very noisy mainstreet. 4- There is only one bedcover for two persones, just like everywhere in italy. But if you ask Signore Luiggi, he gives you another sheet. He is generally very kind, speaks enough english but no german. He gives you any lokal information and has many different folders and infosheets. We spent two nights there and we liked it. Thaks again to Signore Luiggi
